Tried this place for the first time last week and it was so delicious !! I never believed the hype, but I'm so glad they made one here in Downey. Everyone there is so nice! Like so happy and bubbly, it really makes the experience so much better. A younger girl helped me, I believe her name was Britney. When I asked about all the donuts (literally all because it was my first time here) she told me about every single one I pointed at and even told me what her favorite donut was! I love when people recommend me their favorite foods, it really helps me decide what I want. The donuts here are not great or the service. The drive thru line is ridiculous with poor greeting at the window. This was our first time going to this Donut place which we were very excited about! The donuts do look very nice and yummy but wow they are SWEET!! The maple donut has filling inside but the way that the actual maple glaze is put onto the donut is very thick. Once you take a bite it's like if one is enough! Very very sweet for my liking, I wish that they were to be more cautious and aware about how much they put. The glazed donut/glazed donut holes on the other hand are perfect. The donut itself is nice and fluffy and with the glaze on top it's a perfect bite! If you are interested in trying this place out definitely get the glazed donut, the glazed donut holes and the chocolate buttermilk donut, they won't disappoint. The chocolate buttermilk donut is just right in the middle based off of its sweetness. It almost like your eating a chocolate cake so its really good! If you have a sweetsweet tooth and like maple then go for it but be aware that it really does fulfill the SWEET aspect. read more

Didnt know much about this place but my boyfriend which is fan of these donuts decided to take me. Im sad to say that the customer service was not so great the male cashier (with the neck kiss tattoo) was very rude about people making line outside and keeping the door closed at all times. (I get it, he doesn't want flies in the shop, but he didn't need to used a rude voice to state his point). By the time we began to order, with a nice lady who seemed fairly new he was rude and reprimanded her about making the same mistake twice in front of us... which seems to me, to be a bit unprofessional. Ordered by drive thru today Oct. 9th. The person which was a women working the drive thru has HORRIBLE customer service. Didn't even return my card that I paid with and called hem and they stated they had it with them. I IMMEDIATELY canceled my card and when I hit my order she didn't even say have a good day at least. Went in today and was expecting to be amazed, unfortunately that didn't happen. Easily my favorite donut joint. The donuts are so fluffy and crispy! The prices are great and the service is always accountable. I can recall whenever they made a mistake we always got compensated which is amazing! Can't say that about a lot of places. We love Randy's donuts, we go almost every week when we take our night time drives. But I think after this past Monday will be our last time there. Here's what happened..... I ordered my usual, 1 plain cake 1 glaze twist and another that my husband likes, I added 1 vanilla sprinkle at the window and the cashier then went to get the donut and grabbed it with her right hand that had a glove and proceeds to charge my card with that same hand. Now I know we are all aware of this pandemic by now and we do trust these places enough to have more consideration when handling our food. If it was the fact that I added a donut that my 3 year old wanted last minute I'm sorry to have upset the cashier to make her do that but if that's how you guys are handling our donuts on a daily basis you guys really need to invest in some tongs or paper to grab the donuts. I was craving donuts really late and Randy's was the first spot I found that was open. I was seriously stupefied and disappointed at the fact that they had NONE of the donuts I was trying to order. It was almost laughable that every time I asked for a different donut, they were out of them. I mean, they need to make a late night menu with the donuts that ARE available. So disappointed at this place, ordered old fashion chocolate donuts and received the ones with white frosting or glaze. I checked my bag as soon as it was handed to me to check because people make mistakes and sure enough they gave me the wrong donuts. I immediately told the employee at the window and he said they would have to charge me extra to get correct ones because they could not take them back (even though I had not left yet). The manager came over and was not helpful at all, she stated I did not mention chocolate when I ordered which was completely inaccurate. I tried to explain to her I did mention chocolate and would gladly give back the white donuts but they would not take them back and would not give me the ones I ordered either unless I paid extra. Update: unfortunately customer service has gone way down. Super rude lady in the window who first informs us we have to wait 25 min for the breakfast sandwiches....ok sure, she audibly sighs and says "fine then you have to pull around" followed by " So, how many donuts are you actually getting bwfire i do anything else" (I'm sorry what now?)when we pull up not 5 seconds later she hands us coffee and donuts with ZERO Napkins and tells us to pull around very abruptly. We asked if she could give us the coffee with the rest of the food since we had no cream or sugar and she just said 25 min and she said NO and when we asked a second time she VERY HESITANTLY said "Fine, I guess I will just throw these (99 cent) coffees away then"... the hilarious part is not 5 minutes later the sandwiches were actually done, so none of what she said was even legitimate. The only saving grace was the much nicer lady came out to bring us our food and apologize for the other woman's rudeness. So minus 3 stars for nasty Hispanic lady (sorry that's the only descriptor in the current covid society) but plus 1 star for the regular and helpful black lady (again masks....) bringing our total to 3 stars. I went to there grand opening. Lines went forever. This was my first time I had Randy's donut. We do not have any in OC or by the beach. Donuts were great!! The icing donuts with sprinkles, maple bar donuts I think icing is a little thick.
