I believe that they give you multiple meat options and I chose to get 3 wings. It is a bit confusing how this combo works since there are variations to it. They told me that it would take 15 minutes for my order to be ready, so it's probably a good idea to order ahead of time. Anyways, the food ended up pretty good. The waffle tasted like it was made of whole wheat for some reason. The skin on the chicken was crispy like a potato chip. It's very different from KFC or Popeyes. I understand that each order is prepared in the order received - understandable. I placed my online order at 11:50 with a pickup time of 12:30. At 12:55 I called the restaurant to inquire on the status and was informed that it was being packaged up and it would be a few more minutes. No problem. Went inside and informed they were completely out of all lemonades. I was offered a slushy in its place. Not ideal but since I'd already prepaid online I took the slushy. It's still great chicken - but just wanted to highlight that the fried chicken that comes with the chicken dinner is much smaller than the pieces of chicken that come with the "chicken and waffles." The lobster gumbo fries are great as always, and come in a GIANT portion! Also, service can be slow since this is a small business, so be sure to allocate plenty of time to get your food. The corn crusted fish is thin, light, extra crunchy outside, delicate fluffy white premium fish inside. It's decadent, subtly seasoned to perfection, not at all greasy, or overcooked. Devine. The greens are done the old fashioned way, with fresh bay leaf. A pickled pepper? Unexpectedly good. A little bitter, a little savory. Very good. The sweet potatoes are smothered in a rich spiced nectar, reminiscent of mulled cider. Excellent. The red beans and rice is hearty, firm, and mild. Really good. Good vibes all around. Clean. Perfectly uncrowded. News is playing on a TV way overhead. Customers are waiting their turn carefully, spaced far apart. The place next door looked pretty crowded. Give this amazing place a try!
