**RESTAURANT WEEK REVIEW** Just dined here with a group of 6 friends for restaurant week. I'd like to start with the fact that I've dined here before and truly enjoyed the beef wellington and chicken milanese. For restaurant week, I chose the cacio pepe gnudi as my main course. When it came to the table, I counted 8... yes EIGHT gnudi in total, which were maybe the size of the tip of my thumb. To say I left this place hungry and disappointed would be an understatement. On top of that, my friends' portions of chicken milanese were so large they needed to-go containers. And to find out that this isn't even a regular menu item? A complete joke of an experience. Word to the wise- if you are thinking of dining here during restaurant week, maybe reconsider before blowing $100 for most underwhelming meal you will ever have. Do better, Ramsay's. read more

We stopped in for dinner tonight to try this place out for the first time. It is so beautiful and clean inside and our booth was comfortable. Everyone that worked there that we interacted with was so kind and professional. Our server, Dylan, was absolutely awesome, kind, and knowledgeable about the menu. We got the Sticky Chicken Wings as our starter and they were delicious and tender. My boyfriend got the Hellfire Chicken Sandwich and loved it, and I got the braised rib "Idiot Sandwich" and it was awesome and the meat was super tender. We will definitely be coming back and recommending to friends and family! read more

Had the tuna tartare & salmon. The salmon didn't look cooked but tasted fine. My husband said the salmon was cooked. I took his word for it even though I'm used to eating salmon that flakes to the touch. Came home and instantly threw up. Not sure if it was from the tuna, the salmon, or a combo of both. Being GR fans, we were excited to try this but I won't be back. read more

Our waitress was great. I think her name was Diana. Other than that the rest lacked. Look at the photos of how empty the place was and it took 32 min to get two salads, a soup and a shrimp appetizer. The shrimp was tasty but come on a tasteless Caesar salad from Gordon Ramsey. Won be going back. read more

When booking our reservation over a month in advance and looking at the menu/price-point/namesake I was really expecting a whole lot more when coming here. It looked like a super casual quick stop restaurant. Not at all what I imagined or pictured. We were then seated for our anniversary dinner right next to a door/hostess stand where people are constantly standing right next to you while trying to eat. Even had random people tapping me on the shoulder during my meal to ask what I'm eating. Again, not what I expected when going out with my husband for what we expected and hoped to be a nice dinner. The food was okay. Honestly nothing to brag about. The beef Wellington was fine, not a lot of flavor. The tuna tartar was good, as was the soup. The lobster pot pie was okay. Brussels sprouts okay. Again, nothing to complain about but just not that great to make me want to come back here, especially leaving with a $200 bill for an okay dinner. read more

Came in for a lunch date on a Friday. First impression was that the restaurant was well designed and styled out. The seating was a nice mix of booths and tables, and the flow was not too cramped. Our server Christine was amazing, quick with service, and suggestions were spot on. The food menu was a good mix of stuff that everyone can enjoy. We had the shrimp scampi for a starter, and it was one of the best ever (only second to Marrakesh in Las Vegas). The hot roast beef sandwich was delicious and well portioned, and the truffle fries were amazing. The fish and chips is a Ramsay staple and didn't miss here. Large filet and the chips were the perfect crispness. Can't wait to return and try the steak and the scallops. 10/10 read more

this experience was an extreme disappointed to say the least. My brother got a burger and they were out of brioche burger buns. they offered to substitute with lettuce but refused to substitute woth a sour dough. i ended up getting a filet migon cooked at medium. While i was cutting it, it was mushy. i took a bite and it was pasty . shown in the picture, i was able to spread the steak with a butter knife. read more

Great service and food. I had the crab cake, which was fresh, meaty and paired with a great sauce. My husband had the Scottish egg which he enjoyed as well. I nearly avoided the butter chicken due to some reviews on here, but I followed my gut and ordered it. The butter chicken was the freshest one I have had yet. Typically it's served quite creamy . There is no heaviness in the cream in this dish, so if that is what you enjoy might be best to avoid. The sauce was more tomato based. The rice was cooked perfectly. NO underdone or hard rice at all. The naan bread for me wasn't needed and nothing too special there. Just a grilled flat bread. My husband had the beef Wellington which was perfect. Although we were both surprised in it's size. We didn't look up their portions here and assumed it would be similar to portions shown in Gordon's show. But the portion itself is satisfying . Lastly we shared the sticky toffee pudding. This dessert blew me away. I would return for that alone. Overall great meal and service. Absolutely coming back. read more

We had a reservation for seven and were seated in the back room adjacent to the main restaurant. The location was great because it was semi-private with the curtain pulled. However, it was freezing in there. We had to run to the car to get sweaters and the rest wore their coats. It was even cold with our winter wear on. I understand there is a door back there, but they should have space heaters or heat lamps. Also, the drinks took over 20 minutes to arrive after they were ordered. The appetizers actually came right after we got the cocktails. That being said... I'm still giving this 4 stars because the food was incredible! I have no complaints regarding the food. Our server was great, too. We will definitely be back, but request a table in the front or go back in warmer weather. read more

Let me just start by saying we came in here with very high hopes. Started off with the "tomato and fennel soup" very thick, and unflavored. Could easily compare it to a jar a marinara sauce. Way too acidic, and I really like tomato soup. Could not finish the bowl. Next we got the "sticky chicken wings" very delicious , but 5 wings for $16 is beyond unreasonable. For an entree we got the "idiot sandwich" and "truffle fries". The quality of the sandwich was also not worth the $26. The bottom of our sandwich was soggy, and had to be eaten with a fork and knife. Truffle fries and truffle aioli was good. Service and atmosphere was very good. But there are many places in Naperville that have better quality food for a better price. All of our food was not served hot except for the wings. For the price we paid for the food we got we would not come back. read more

Just celebrated myself, my husband and my sons birthday. We're all March babies at Ramsey's kitchen. Big thanks to the staff, Adam and Shelly at the restaurant they did an awesome job explaining the specials and making great recommendations. Adam was especially knowledgeable in explaining the menu items and Shelly treated us like family, The hanger steak was amazing the crabcakes the best ones we've had outside of Baltimore , And the cocktails are top shelf. Please read this review from start to finish. I wanted to love Ramsays Kitchen so much but there were problems that I can't ignore. I went on my birthday and made reservations the day they opened up. We started with the Parker Rolls which where phenomenal except for my dad pulled a hair out of his. We didn't tell our waiter because my dad didn't want to make a fuss. For entrees I ordered the scallops with carrots and they were cooked perfectly and seasoned well, with the carrots being perfect. The fish and chips where HUGE and equally delicious. Then when my cousins chicken Milanese came to the table in the very first bite of food my cousins found another hair in his food. This time we could not ignore it and let our waiter know. They brought out a new plate right away and the manager apologized which we appreciated. Our waiter was amazing through all this and gave me a dessert for free. All would have been made right by this and I wouldn't have written this review except when it came to the bill we were billed for TWO chicken Milanese, when we told the waiter he immediately took one off but at this point I don't think we should have paid for either with how much error their was with this dinner. The place has potential and I would come back but they need more time to figure things out and maybe invest in hair nets. read more

We also called twice but the people who answer are unable to confirm... total lack of management...one star for management issue -no stars for food yet cos i have to try it yet. read more

I guess my expectations were too high because of the celebrity chef association. The service was slow. Aversion in my party had to ask three times for his coke. No attention to detail . I had food spilled on the table, and the server just put a plate over the spill until I asked him if he could wipe the table. Waitng for wine took forever. I shouldn't have to ask for a refill on drinks. The food was just okay. (My expectations were high) . Would I say it's a must go, nope. It's comparable to many others who have better service. Great service and atmosphere. Waiter gave good wine recommendations and entrees were good. My friend and I split the tagliatelle, scampi, and sticky toffee pudding. The sticky toffee pudding is a MUST, I don't have a super sweet tooth but it was sooo good, highly recommend it! Looking forward to visiting again. read more

Very disappointed. We were seated at a table in the back where people were in and out of the back door and kept getting slapped in the face with the cold. We got our dinners 5 minutes after ordering and the Beef Wellington seemed like it was premade and was barely warm. Also had a crab cake which was cold and tasteless. With all the staff, you'd think we'd get better service. Had to wait a long time for waiter to check on us. You'd think he'd ask how everything was, especially since we left food on our plates. It's not like the portions were so huge that you'd think people wouldn't finish it. Then we ordered desserts. The sticky toffee pudding was enjoyed but the chocolate pot de creme was, again, barely flavored and left most of it on the plate. And then we got the check. Our experience at Ramsay's Kitchen was good but not great unfortunately. We had an issue with one of the dishes that we had to return it and we were charged for the returned dish. I got to say that the service was very good and the ambiance was nice. The dishes were ranging from espectacular to average. Will me and my family return? ... Yes and a second chance to try some other dishes. One thing for sure ... Mr. Ramsey would have yelled and made a big deal from the issue of the returned dish (foreign organic non-eatable thing). read more

Obvious they sat under the light too long... replacements took 15min and the rest of the food at the table ended up cold since we all had to wait for the steaks. Very delightful restaurant. Waitstaff was great. Food was a bit of a disappointment. We started with the carrots (which were a bit undercooked) and the truffle fries. They were both ok. My husband and I both ordered the Sat special of Shepherds Pie. It was good, but I got tired of it. I only ate half of it. The side was three cauliflower pieces which was too much like the potatoes on the pie. I would have liked to see something green. My boyfriend and I made a reservation one month prior to our visit. We were celebrating a graduation, so it was a special occasion that we were looking forward to celebrating together with some good food. We were seated, only to be waited on by a poorly trained waiter. As a side note, we felt that the entire staff was snooty, that they felt like they were working for some high-class restaurant. Very uncomfortable. The food came next, which was the most disappointing part. My boyfriend ordered the butter chicken which had hard rice and was overcooked. The meat was soggy and seemed to have been sitting around. It was awful. He was embarrassed to say anything but he could not eat his meal and the wait staff took it away and apologized. They made the comment that this is not their most popular dish and it's had mixed reviews. Even the waiter did not like this dish. Why is it even on the menu?? Myself, I had the $80 beef Wellington which was extremely small in portion and was average at best and served somewhat cold. I ate half of it while the wait staff apoligised and offered dessert to make it up to us. I was very upset to have spent so much money on a mediocre steak. I don't mind spending money on good food, but this wasn't it. We ultimately complained to Brandon the manager, as I wasn't feeling well the next day. He took our information and never got back to us. Please avoid this restaurant. There are better places to eat. This is an Applebee's-quality restaurant (at best) with a celebrity name attached to it. You could do much better at other Naperville restaurants. read more

I really wanted to like Ramsay's Kitchen but there were just too many issues. After being open for 4-5 months, some of these things should have been ironed out by now. We were asked multiple times about dietary restrictions and if there were any celebrations before arriving. Upon arrival it seemed no one noted the dietary restrictions or birthday celebration. It took over an hour for any food to come out. The kitchen sent out wrong items and the server didn't catch it. Then didn't know if they should take it back or not. The menu doesn't offer any dairy-free dessert options. It was cold and drafty by the windows and revolving door in the back so we were cold through the entire meal. Kind of surprised we were sat in a boring drafty corner of the restaurant when it was a birthday dinner, which was noted when making the reservation and during confirmation of reservation so it's not like they didn't know. The server rushed our dinner and pushed a plate away from my companion who was actively eating in order to put a dessert in front of them that they couldn't eat due to dietary restrictions. They also cleared plates that still had food on them before we were all finished. The floor is slick with grease and I almost slipped walking to the far back corner where our table was. It was so notable that our table had a conversation about how slick the floor was. For the price point and the name on the restaurant I was surprised at how many issues there were with both front and back of house. Will not be returning. read more

You do not get the kind of service you expect at a restaurant with this reputation. In addition to that some of the food was just mediocre.

Well done, Gordon Ramsay. It's nice to have another high-end restaurant in downtown Naperville. I did have to make reservations about a month out as they are still in high demand. The interior is very hip and modern. Could use some brighter lighting in the front but not too big a deal. The food was all very good. We started with the wings and Parker rolls. Both were delicious. The star for me was the beef Wellington for sure. I was initially concerned about having to get it medium rare as I'm more of a medium person but I'm glad I didn't let that stop me. It was absolutely perfect. The cheesecake for dessert was also very good. Everyone else enjoyed their entrees however my husband did say the Brussel sprouts were overdone and almost burnt. I also must say service was pretty slow, especially for 8pm on a week night. We were seated nearly an hour before we even got our appetizers. Hopefully that resolves with time, but it won't deter us from coming back. read more

Went to naperville location last night. The fish was wayyyy too salty, inedible. Beef wellington was ok but defineatly not a 69.00 dish. We had to ask a different waiter TWICE to fetch our waiter. We will not return! read more

We were seated as soon as all 4 members of our party arrived. I noticed that women wore dresses, blue jeans or shorts. Men wore anything from shorts to trousers with a coat and everything in between. Decorations were minimal. Windows surround the kitchen so we could see the kitchen staff at work. Although reservations were tight, there were four tables around us that remained empty for 30 or 40 minutes. When those tables filled, it became clear that something should be done for noise abatement .... It was TOO LOUD! We ordered the Beef Wellington, a salad, Mac & Cheese, (and an Old Fashioned while we waited for dinner). My wife and I shared an order of cheesecake after dinner. I laughed at my wife for ordering the Mac & Cheese, but it was the best I ever tasted! We took home half the Beef Wellington and half the Mac & cheese. Everything was good... even the Old Fashioned.... Our server tried, but had only been on the floor for three days since this restaurant is new. I suppose that's why it took her three tries to get our bill right; and I suppose that may be why we had to ask twice for lemons for our water and for a Coke. All in all, we had a good time and would return. I wonder if my wife would share a Beef Wellington with me next time....? read more

Here on the second day of being open so I went knowing there might still be some kinks to be worked out on such a new restaurant. Pros: Very nice people working here, especially John (floor manager?). Reservation for 7pm and seated promptly. Cool vibe, minimalist. Lots of white subway tile. Neat to see the open kitchen. Split a wedge salad to start. It was excellent and nice big chunks of bacon on it. Girlfriend had a burger and said it was good. My Bahn Mi was great. Lots of chicken and nicely cooked and seasoned. Cons. Expensive, but that would be fine if they executed on everything perfectly. We each upgraded to the truffle fries and they were warm at best. I fear our fries sat for a while before being served. Disappointing, bet they are great when fresh and hot. Service for anything took a really long time. Drinks. Appetizer, and especially dinner. We were seated at 7 and didn't finish til 9:15 (and we didn't even have dessert!). Drinks are expensive too and $16 for a glass of Daou Cab is tough, but even worse when the pour is about 4 oz or less. I know a proper 5oz pour and that wasn't it. On balance we had a nice time, but the value to price was pretty low. read more

honestly i was expecting small portions and high prices but i was pleasantly surprised !! potions were great and taste was impeccable. i got the chicken milanese and it was served beautifully with great flavors. the rolls are a must for the table!!! i also got a chance to try the fish and chips they were delicious. the rk burger was mid. truffle fries were good but i feel like they could've used more parmesan. mac and cheese was also mid. for dessert we got the cheesecake which was great. service was great out waiter was considerate and friendly. read more

Hello everyone, I have a certain opinion about this wonderful restaurant, they just don't know how to cook ((((((The unfriendly hostess put us in the corner of this hangout, the girl waiter was at the height of her service and sold us ribs from a special menu, I did not agree) We ordered appetizers, they are terrible, it's hard to spoil tuna) the crabcake in Costco tastes better) if it weren't for the wine! it's impossible to eat! we ordered the main course, waited 30-40 minutes, fish chips are just disgusting fish in raw batter, HORROR, macaroni and cheese for a child is just nauseating, my the stadium was confused with meat they moved the wrong thing !!!!! The food is excellent, my scallops were perfectly cooked, my brother had the ribeye and it was buttery and perfectly seared. The sticky toffee pudding is delicious and my mother loved it for her birthday. The salads are done meticulously and the soft boiled egg on my Caesar was done perfectly which is rare around here. Our server Nico was friendly and helpful, I had researched the menu ahead of time but if you haven't they will tell you about everything. My only complaint is that I really wanted to try the Wellington and it is only after 5. Will definitely come back for that. read more
