Didn't take a single photo but overall everything was fantastic. My husband got the beef Wellington prix fixe and the salad that you get is a full size! I got the short rib and it was maybe the best I've had. Alison was our server and was wonderful! read more

The ambiance is small and quaint - but perfectly so. Not too harsh. Not too light. The bread is AMAZING! AMAZING! Our server was fantastic! What I liked most about our server is that she matched my excitement! The fish in the fish and chips is the largest that I've ever had. My wife loved her roast beef but the carrots were a bit too hard for her liking. She said, "I wish I could cut through this with my knife." RK was well worth the visit and other than the *bite-size* lobster roll (just take it off her menu), everything on the menu was definitely worth the price! read more

I've wanted to visit a Ramsey restaurant for years now. I wanted to go on my 60th birthday, but that's in November, I work retail and this restaurant is a 4-5 hour drive from home. My wife and I were passing near (about an hour away) on Saturday 9-12 and we decided to go out of our way and go. We had an amazing experience from start to finish. I made reservations, but we arrived 15 minutes early and were immediately seated, and were fortunate to sit near the kitchen and could watch and hear everything, how thrilling!!!! Michelle was our server and she is definitely top-notch! She helped us decide on some dishes, wine and even gave us the history of some of the designs that Gordon did when building the restaurant. The decorations and entire restaurant are so appealing The sweet corn soup was amazing. My wife had the shrimp cocktail and the flavors were perfect. The Parker House rolls were the best rolls ever! The entrées were both perfect. We went with Gordon's signature dishes (how could we not). The Beef Wellington melted in my mouth, perfectly prepared and cooked. My wife had the fish and chips and they were a WOW, the cook and flavors were spot on. We split the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. It was almost better than the entrees. Every bite was a taste of heaven. It was life changing Brent the manager checked in on us, he was friendly and engaging, we talked for quite a while. He found out that I was a huge fan and stopped by while I was going to pick a book to buy. He and the head chef (I'm so sorry I forgot his name) decided to give me a book signed be all the chefs there (along with the book I selected) and a piece of their birthday cake. I was absolutely speechless. The entire experience was amazing and I'll remember it for ever. Brent please thank you staff for us. We appreciate everything you did for us. Gordon, great job!! read more

My husband and I stopped in for social hour on a Thursday. The place was completely empty, however, it was a Thursday at 3pm so it makes sense. The space is sophisticated and beautiful. It's a perfect spot for a date night, happy, hour, or a night out with some friends. Their social hour menu is pretty slim, I decided to get a drink from their regular cocktail menu instead. Since we got there a few minutes before 3 my husband asked if he needed to wait to order from the social hour menu. The bartender seemed put off by his question and it left a bad first impression for me. His shift was also ending in 5 minutes and he asked if I wanted to close out my tab.. At that point we had only ordered 1 drink (my drink) since we were waiting for the social hour deals. I decided to transfer my drink to the next staff member since we just sat down. I tried the spicy lychee margarita and I loved it. The balance between spicy and sweet was perfect. We also tried the truffle fries and I really liked them. They were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. read more

Excellent food and service (Shelly was extraordinary). I went with my son, 12, and he enjoyed the smash burger and I had the filet. Apps were delicious. Ambiance was high end as we have come to expect at Ramsey restaurants. Lucky to have this in Naperville! read more

Came for my husband's bday as our first try for this restaurant. We've been to Gordon's other restaurants so I knew he liked a good beef Wellington and this location did not disappoint. I loved my short rib plate and the carrots stole my heart that night, very nice! I loved the inside of the restaurant, very casual but modern that you could dress up and not feel out of place. The service was good. It wasn't a busy night, we went on a Wednesday but I will say I put on my reservation that it was for a birthday so I'd rather hear, " I heard" or "I know it's someone's birthday" instead of being asked if we were celebrating anything and if we were celebrating a birthday. My personal preference, since we always go out for our birthdays and for a birthday celebration, this wasn't my favorite spot. read more

It was our First time and probably, the last. Way too many other awesome restaurants right by there. Only exception-The bartender was professional and kind. She nailed my espresso martini and his dirty Belvedere martini. The food was less than mediocre. Pretty disappointed. We tried the lukewarm corn soup- maybe it would be better if it was hot? The crab cake was fried with too much aioli- lacked flavor, as well. For being A "famous" restaurant, I'm shocked. read more

Another day, another parade walking with Ted Dabrowski. After 6 miles or so, we were ready for lunch, so after making our way back to our car, we navigated into downtown, found a place to park, and went looking for a place to eat. My wife spotted this place across the street - Kitchen by Gordon Ramsay. How could we go wrong? Well, we couldn't. The interior was smartly outfitted - the lighting, the ceilings, the walls, were all classy and nicely done. Service was outstanding - water and soft drink glasses were refilled regularly, and the table checked for food quality on multiple occasions. I was intrigued by their Prime Rib Sandwich, which is served with onion crisps. I went for the $4 upgrade to Truffle Fries. The sandwich was LARGE, very tasty, and just plain wonderful to eat. The Truffle Fries added a bit of spice to the meal. My wife had their Fish & Chips. When I saw the sandwich on the side just coming out of the kitchen, I was wondering how she'd eat it, since the piece of fish was BIG. Like How Do I eat this BIG. She used her knife and fork and got the job done. Great food, great service, nice location right on Jefferson Avenue. What a great place! We'll have to come back for Dinner! read more

I visited this place with high expectations given the brand name etc. I'd say the Ambience was excellent, very welcoming and pleasing to the eyes. The Service was excellent. Our server in particular was fantastic. However the reason I gave it a 3 star is because of quality of food. We ordered the Parker Rolls... this was awesome and the only highlight of the evening. Followed by Chicken Milanese and Veggie Burger ( RK Special apparently). The chicken dish was dry and tasteless, although the sauce was ok. The veggie burger was not fresh, seemed soggy and tasted bland. The fries were not well done and certainly not crispy. Overall, if someone asked me about this restaurant, I would not recommend. read more

Spent some time shopping downtown Naperville and worked up an appetite. Before we headed home, we decided to stop in here for a drink and something to nibble on. We headed straight to the expansive bar and were quickly acknowledged by a friendly bartender. The space is long and narrow, but sophisticated and warm with comfortable seating. Stopping in during a low volume time likely helped our situation. It was about 4pm and no one was really in the restaurant for dinner yet. That changed as we were leaving, definitely starting getting immediately busier around 5. We started by ordering the caeser salad, it was one of the best I've ever had. The pancetta on top was the icing on the cake - so good. We shared the fish and chips and it was massive! Was done to perfection. We had a great experience here and even if I was in my most critical mood, I have no complaints. Now that I know a beef wellington is nearby, I must return. Salted Caramel Espresso martini was WAY better than the OG. Wasn't too sweet and hints of salt/caramel were perfection. read more

Let me first start by saying that the food was good. I especially liked the crab cake in the appetizer, and the Brussel sprouts were excellent. The reason why I rated it the way I did is because the food was just not as good for the price tag that came with the food. Especially the entrees, which was beef Wellington and the tomato risotto. Also, we went to celebrate our birthday, and I expected with the amount of money that we spent on the food, we'd also get a free dessert added on at the end as well, but they fell short of that expectation too (although I understand they're not obligated to do that). Just to add a few other comments, the server was very nice and prompt, and the restaurant itself was clean and trendy. It just was not extraordinary for spending the amount of money that I did to dine here. The experience and the food both. Just a recommendation at the end for all guests: I'd say if you go for a late lunch and get things on the lunch menu. Keep things to a tighter budget, and you'd enjoy your time there much more than going for dinner and trying things that is signature to Gordon. read more

Coming to Ramsay's you have higher expectations and they really disappointed me. I came in and ordered 3 items I was recommended from the menu which they were out of apparently. I proceeded to find alternates one being the chicken with gold flakes and caviar. When I asked for those my waiter asked if I was sure I wanted those based off the price on the menu... I've been to Ramsay's in Vegas and London and never been asked a question like that. Anyways the Wellington was good & so was the chicken. Service & availability of the items I wanted not so much read more

We had a wonderful time at dinner in Ramsay's Kitchen Naperville, the service and food were fantastic.

This is going to be a weird review because it's only for delivery. Both the restaurant and courier were both fine (average). Now I will NEVER blame delivery for soggy fries. That's on me. So yea, they were a little soggy (again, my fault, not theirs) but the seasoning was top notch. I really want to eat these fries in person. I thought the crabcakes were decent but nothing at all special. They should probably take a page out of Remmington's book. The octopus was the downfall (in more my husband's opinion than mine). It was not flavorful and it was chewy and I'm no scientist (nor to a play one on TV) but I don't think driving makes octopus chewy. It was to do on the cook (says someone who has cooked octopus at least 100 times although never transported it). So, overall ONLY BASED ON DELIVERY ORDER, not impressed but I would try again. read more

We have been to Burger in Chicago once before and thought it was just ok. For our 18 year anniversary weekend we figured we would try out Kitchen to see if it was worth the hype. When we arrived, our reservation wasn't quite ready so we sat at the bar. $31 for two mocktails that were both kind of meh. We got seated and our server was PHENOMENAL. Like wow she was amazing. Gave us recommendations that, to her credit, we didn't really listen to. We ended up doing the prefix beef wellington menu with sticky wings. Here is our assessment: - Ceasar salad had one predominant flavor - salt. Tons of salt. Needed more dressing and needed more unique flavor. Salt burned our tongues - truly was that much. - Sticky wings were beyond heavy on cilantro. Mango chutney was very spicy. Sticky wing Fresno sauce was good. Cooked perfectly. - Beef Wellington was... fine? Cooked perfectly. Truly perfect. Super tender. Outside of that, salt galore. The mashed potatoes were good, roasted vegetables were great. Pastry was a bit raw inside. Added scallops for $21. I got TWO scallops that were slightly undercooked and just DOUSED in salt. - Sticky toffee cake was fine. I preferred the sticky toffee milkshake from Burger. - Apple butterscotch cheesecake was simply ok. A bit heavy on the cinnamon, very sweet. The expediter was INSANE. Wow. Super talented and directed the kitchen staff flawlessly. Ambience was cool but it was INCREDIBLY loud inside the restaurant. It actually triggered a mild anxiety attack for me. At the end of the day, $360 after cocktails and tip? No lol. Ruth's or Morton's are better quality and $100 less. 3 Arts Club downtown absolutely blows this place away and much cheaper. You're paying for the "Ramsay Experience". We always wanted to try beef wellington. We did. Will not come back. We should have listened to the server who made some solid recommendations. If you go, maybe try a sandwich and the amazing looking bread rolls. Those looked awesome. read more

Ramsay's Kitchen - Beef Wellington with scallops add on (prefix menu 6oz portion) - New American Near Me - Naperville, Illinois

Well I'm torn. We are such big fans of Gordon Ramsey! I wanted to give 5 stars but I think we are at 4 stars for this dinner. Main dish - 5 star (crispy salmon) Truffle fries - 5 star Appetizers - Brussels sprouts 3.5 (good flavor but a bit chewy) Cocktails - 2 stars (we went somewhere else to have a cocktail after dinner) I ordered a cocktail first. I didn't care for it but I also don't like to complain. My friend tried it and agreed that I needed something else. She then ordered me a strawberry basil cocktail. Unfortunately, the basil overpowered the other flavors in the drink so I didn't drink that one either. We were both surprised and a little dissappinted by sub par drinks. They used small plain glasses, flavors were not balanced. Maybe our standards were too high but if the Gordon Ramsay name is on it, it should be excellent right? Especially since we know he visited this location recently. We ordered the beet salad as an appetizer and it was good. For entrees we both ordered the crispy skin salmon which was vibrant, fresh and delicious. It was perfectly cooked and the sauce and garnishes added complimentary flavors that really balanced the dish. Yes,chef! The crispy skinned salmon was quite comparable to The lovely Graceful Ordinary's crispy skin salmon though there are different sauces/garnishes. Ramsay's Kitchen is basically an elevated chain restaurant. It's good but it didn't quite stand up to my other favorites in the burbs. To be fair, my favorites are not chain restaurants. This restaurant is excellent for a chain restaurant and we loved the main dish. That is where this restaurant shined. read more

My scallops were only seared on one side and I got one with what seemed to chew like there was sand in it. The risotto felt over cooked and gluey. The shrimp were great. Unfortunately we ended up close to the bar where 2 women that clearly came from somewhere else with a few drinks in them, were laughing with ear piercing loudness. Definitely not the food and atmosphere I expected for the price. But the service was great. read more

We went in with high expectations and were underwhelmed by the food especially given the price. Service was very good. Fish and chips were pretty good, but the fish placed on top made the chips soggy and there were about 5 on the plate. Beef Wellington was very nice. Nice service, but food was nothing special. Steak had a bad taste. maybe meat was going bad. Gave me a terrible stomach ache.

Came here for restaurant week. Service was good. I had the chicken Milanese (the chicken is fried). I enjoyed it but would try something different next time. The pasta on the menu looked really good but I wanted meat with my meal. The blackberry apple crumble was outstanding. I'd come back again for that soon before it is off the menu. read more

Don't sleep on Happy Hour here. Mon thru Fri from 3-6pm. Drinks are between $12-$14 and there are menu items as cheap at $6. We recently returned to Ramsay's Kitchen to give it another try after a somewhat underwhelming first experience. I'm glad we did, because the second visit was a significant improvement across the board. The crab cake was truly exceptional--easily one of the best I've had, and it set a strong tone for the meal. I also opted for the harvest salad this time, which I enjoyed far more than the Caesar from my previous visit; it felt fresh, well-composed, and thoughtfully dressed, although I would have enjoyed a little more goat cheese. The beef Wellington, which had been a disappointment during my first visit, was redeemed. It was cooked properly to a medium rare. We also ordered the lamb shoulder, which was excellent in taste and preparation, though slightly modest in portion size. The truffle fries were stunning--crispy, aromatic, and indulgent in the best way. For dessert, both the apple cheesecake and the chocolate tart were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, offering a refined and satisfying finish. Ambience was pleasant as well. Overall, I would rate the food a strong 4.5 out of 5. However, what truly elevated this experience was the service and the evident effort from management to deliver a better dining experience. That level of care and attentiveness ultimately brings my overall rating to a full 5 out of 5. read more

I went to Ramsay's Kitchen while visiting in town with my family and I'm glad I did. Sometimes places like this lean more on the name than the experience, but this spot delivered on every level. The food, the service, and the atmosphere were all top-notch and I had to wonder if Gordan himself was lurking in the shadows waiting to scream if things weren't done just right. The photos I took speak for themselves because the food tasted even better than how it looked. The Scotch Egg and Chicken Milanese were two of my personal favorites. I also had fun eating the Ratatouille in the style made famous by that Pixar movie. While the dish is technically a Confit Byaldi (according to the nerds on Reddit), it's nonetheless a fun and tasty way to get your daily dose of veggies. The drinks were excellent too. I love fun and fruity mixed drinks that places like this come up with. And the service was exactly what you'd want at a place like this: professional, friendly, and politely humoring my elderly mother and her awkwardly pestering questions. Big points for that last one! One thing to note is to make reservations ahead of time. This place gets packed for good reason because before whenever I was in town, it was always booked! read more

Service and ambiance were excellent. We were seated at a very nice table with plenty of sunlight and a good view of the street outside. Server was very personable, friendly and knowledgeable. The food could have been just slightly better which is the reason for the 4 stars. I will say the value is there with the lunch special they offer. My English pea soup wasn't something I would normally get but it was really good. My boyfriend enjoyed his mango sticky wings a lot. We both liked our burgers but agreed they weren't the best burgers we've ever had. Sticky toffee pudding tasted like it did at Hells Kitchen so that was fantastic. My boyfriend enjoyed his cheesecake too. Our friend had the Idiot Sandwich and said he didn't feel that was worth the cost. Our server did mention how Gordon has only visited this location maybe a handful of times in the last several years so maybe that's something that could use improvement and the food quality would follow. read more

A couple of weeks ago, my girlfriend and I had a lovely dinner at Ramsay's Kitchen. Upon arrival, there was no one to greet us, and after waiting for a bit, a server informed us that the check-in desk was located on the other side of the restaurant--which felt a bit odd. We had to walk across the entire space to check in, only to walk back again to be seated. Our server, Alison, was an absolute delight--friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. We shared the Wellington for Two, Tuna Tartare, and Truffle Fries. The food was good, but not particularly memorable. The Beef Wellington, priced at $150, felt like a complete rip-off in my opinion. Overall, I enjoyed the experience at Ramsay's Kitchen, but I won't be rushing back anytime soon. read more

Maybe I had really high expectations since I'm a huge Gordon fan, but the food seemed mid at best for the price point! The ambiance and staff were lovely, but the portion size and some flavors were just a miss for me. We ordered: - Tuna Tartare ($27): Man this portion was a bit disappointing for almost $30. Also some of the tuna chunks weren't cut all the way through. Flavor was great though! - Beef Wellington ($69): This was my favorite dish for sure. Beef was extremely tender and on the more rare side, and the flavors of the sauce and veggies were great too! Just pricey. - Pan Seared Scallops ($49): Would not recommend this one at all. 5 scallops, all very different in size, and didn't have much flavor besides spice. The crispy rice underneath was hard and burnt tasting. - Sticky Toffee Pudding ($16): The pool of toffee sauce at the bottom put it way over sweet. We couldn't finish this one due to the sweetness level! The ambiance and decor is lovely here, so I could see it being a nice occasion spot. Our bill came out to $200, and I'd only rec the beef wellington! read more

Exceptional Food, Stellar Service -- But the Wait Needs Work We had a reservation and arrived right on time, but ended up waiting over 45 minutes to be seated. That delay really threw off the rhythm of the night and pushed dinner far later than expected--our food didn't arrive until around 8:30 PM. If the restaurant can't accommodate that many guests, it might be worth reducing the number of reservations to keep the experience smooth from start to finish. That said, once we were finally seated, everything turned around. Our server and waitress were both incredible--warm, attentive, and spot-on with their recommendations. The food? Absolutely lived up to the hype. We started with the Tuna Tartare, which was easily the best I've ever had. The Beef Wellington was phenomenal--perfectly cooked, and the sauces, potato purée, and veggies brought everything together beautifully. The Brussels sprouts were surprisingly fluffy and flavorful, though the capers were a bit heavy-handed for my taste. The tomato risotto was good--not quite at the level of Hell's Kitchen in DC, but still well-executed. Even the mocktail was standout--refreshing and well-balanced. And Gordon's Mom's Sticky Date Pudding? Unreal. I was mid-bite when the waitress came to check in, and I could barely answer because it was just that good. Bottom line: the food and service were top-tier, and we will absolutely be back. But next time, we won't book a reservation later than 6:30 to avoid the extended wait. This place is special--you just want the full experience to shine from start to finish read more

Third time at Ramsay's Naperville - Last night went for Birthday Dinner. Expectations were heightened. All week I was savoring the fish and chips this would be my second time having them. The first time a late last year, I had them and they came out over cooked and hard - I questioned the bartender and he said it shouldn't look like that. Sent them back and I received what I expected a wonderful fish and chips. However I thought why didn't he himself send them back? He serves them nightly. I ate and continues my meeting. Last night I received my fish and chips no fluff in the batter - flat and greasy. Chips were over cooked. I desperately wanted to say something however this meal took 30 minutes on a Thursday night to come - crowd, busy - no. . So I said nothing and sat through something I would have never expected from a staple dish. As I sat pondering what to do - being that the cook saw it, the Chef saw it, the waitress saw it - I then thought they must have changed their recipe. But no, there was inconsistency all around, the table next to us sent food back prior to me receiving mine - dry she said. The chef stood there staring down the table after being told. Also, maybe this is just me. The chef without a cap could be seen working in the kitchen pushing his hair back while prep meals - huh? The Staff near the fryers and oven eating and drinking. Not with a fork their hands. I wasn't going to write this - I was just never going back. However I woke up thinking I don't need to tolerate this, I don't need to hold back, I don't need to feel underwhelmed - this is a highly recognized and expensive establishment - people have expectations. read more
