    Empanadas de Jamon

*** Brunch Review *** I was here for Sunday funday brunch and enjoyed myself. Santo Cielo is located on the 5th floor of hotel indigo in downtown Naperville. It gives downtown Chicago vibes without the Chicago traffic and paid parking. The space is beautiful, I felt like I was at an outdoor Cancun oasis. Service throughout was great and everything was timed out well. Within minutes of being seated our server came by to greet us and explained the menu since this was my first time there. The 1 thing I wish they would have done was do a little something for my mom since this outing was my Mother's Day gift to her. I did mention that was why we were there, but nothing. We still had a nice time either way though. We shared 3 items - ham empanadas, the veggie omelette, and the churro French toast. My favorite item was the ham empanadas. It was full of flavor, the dough was cooked perfectly and the sauce had the perfect amount of heat to it. Sadly I would completely pass on the veggie omelette going forward. The eggs were over cooked and lacked flavor. The dish was very bland and desperately needed salt, pepper, any type of seasoning to it. The churro French toast was sweet and delightful that I'd order that again. Overall my mom and I had a great time and I'm glad she loved it. I plan to come back for a future date night and am looking forward to figuring out my go to items from here. Side note - they have a 3% surcharge added to all checks.

My husband took me here for my birthday dinner, and it was a nice experience. The restaurant is located on the fifth floor of a hotel, and you will get fantastic views if you come around sunset. Their menu was creative, and their kitchen has huge window, an open-ish kitchen, when diners can observe the chefs blacken pita in their huge oven. We each got a cocktail and ordered things to share, family-style. His cocktail: verdecita My cocktail: ultimo vuelo Dishes (not ranked, just listed): 1 - Pan arabe con aguacate 2 - Ostiones al horno 3 - Mejillones con chorizo 4 - Churrasco 5 - Arroz con queso (side) 6 - Ensalada de aguachile (side) 7 - Papas fritas (side) I loved that if you order something spiced with chilis, you WILL taste the serrano peppers. That's why I loved the grilled flatbread with blackened avocado, pickled fennel, and greens (dish #1) and the cucumber, avocado, red onion, serrano, cilantro, and lime salad (dish #6). The brightness of the greens with lime juice and serrano peppers made the flavors pop. The churrasco was the priciest thing that we ordered, and it was not my favorite even though my husband really enjoyed the sausage and the meat. I enjoyed the punchy, sour flavors the most, and feel like some Mexican/Latin American cuisines do that really well... playing with acidic, spicy, notes that will make you pucker, or take another of your cocktail, err water... to wash things down. I wish we were seated next to the window because the sun was setting and it was a beautiful night, and it was a special occasion. While we had a reservation, I'm not sure if you had to specify a preference for being seating by the windows, but I would recommend mentioning that preference when making a reservation online. Overall, a great place for a special occasion dinner or a fun spot to grab cocktails!

My party of 14 chose Santo Cielo for a brunch morning. The drinks, food and service were top tier. We only had to wait a couple of minutes for our table, once seated we were immediately greeted by the waiter who was very knowledgeable on drinks and food. Some of us shared plates and others ordered their own. All had nothing but great things to say. A couple items that were highly reviewed were the chilaquiles and salmon chorizo biscuit and gravy. Can't go wrong here for brunch!

I came in for dinner in a group of 5 and we had an amazing meal here! The restaurant is located on the 5th floor of the Hotel Indigo and has a great view of the downtown area. The ambience is upscale with almost a beach club vibe. They are more of a family-style place so we ordered a lot of small dishes to share and there were some delicious ones! My favorites were the bao de cerdo, empanadas de birria, and arrachera asada! I also got a cocktail and sangria which were both great! The service was just a little slow at times.

Santo Cielo is located on the rooftop of the Indigo Hotel in the heart of downtown Naperville and overlooks the river. It's bright and airy with the good food and even better drinks. I enjoyed their brunch menu better than dinner menu, but if I'm being honest, the space is mostly why I continue to visit. Santo Cielo is very reminiscent of a Chicago restaurant with the beautiful view and lively atmosphere, which is a nice change of pace for the suburbs.

Santo Cielo truly lives up to its name -- "holy heaven" is exactly how I'd describe the experience. From the moment we stepped off the elevator, we were wowed by the modern, upscale ambiance and stunning rooftop views of downtown Naperville. The food was outstanding. Every dish was beautifully plated, well-balanced, and full of bold, creative flavors. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in using high-quality ingredients and thoughtful presentation. The cocktails were equally impressive -- unique, well-crafted, and perfectly balanced. Service was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable without being overbearing. Our server made great recommendations and really helped enhance the overall experience. This is definitely a place to come for a special night out, date night, or a chic gathering with friends. Santo Cielo has the kind of energy that makes you want to stay longer, order one more round, and take in the view just a little bit more. Highly recommend -- we'll absolutely be back!

5th floor entrance was a little tricky but being on that floor provided splendid views of the sunset. Food was delicious and loved the Brussels sprouts and the gnocchi the most. Sangria was better than my mule but both tasty. Service was slow but I don't think it was the waitresses fault. I assume she was covering a large area of tables. Our food came before the drinks! We used the inKind app to paid and received $30 off of $100 which was beneficial.

Stopped at Santo Cielo for some drinks to end my 30th Birthday Night Out. Super fast and friendly customer service! The restaurant looks very beautiful at night and has an amazing view of Downtown Naperville.

    Cast Iron Pancake Brunch
    Deborah ..

We enjoyed the food at this new restaurant! It was very cute and bright inside, and overall the food was good. We had the chilaquiles which were amazing!!! We also had the cast iron pancake, which wasn't quite as good as we were expecting. We also tried both types of empanadas which were pretty good. The service was very friendly but a bit slow, which was strange because the space was not crowded at all. There were a lot of empty tables so I was confused why our server took a while to check on our table.

Santo Cielo has some of the best oysters and cocktails in all of Naperville. The ambience cannot be beat. The space is so welcoming and well decorated. The bartenders are super attentive friendly and enjoy their jobs. The cocktails are amazing and constantly changing.

The place is beautiful. What a beautiful rooftop. We ordered the French toast that nicely presented and delicious and some empanadas. The empanadas did not impress it lacked flavor. Overall it's a very pretty next time I'll order something else.

Altavida's concepts for the three levels are Publico, Rumba, and Altura. Publico (1st Flr)- A South American fusion of food and drinks that will be rotating. The cocktails will be more tequila and mezcal based and food will be subtly rotated based on trends happening in South America. The food menu currently offers tapas, empanadas, ceviche, guacamoles, larger format meat/seafood entrees, and more. They will have a front of our bar as well as a back bar that will specialize in more coffees/coffee cocktails. Rumba (2nd Flr)- The entertainment floor! There is a separate bar on this floor that will specialize in more Rum based cocktails. Additionally, they will have a wine bar area with wines in tap. Lastly, they will have an open area for live music as well as dancing. Their hope is to have a mix of jazz, club music, salsa dancing options available. Altura (3rd Flr)- This floor is still under construction but will have a rooftop patio. The hope is that this space will be an event space both for public and private events. Back to my experience! My partner and I stopped in for a cocktail and to see what Altavida was about. Our first bartender was very nice but was still getting used to the drink recipes and was leaning on their cheat sheets. While we waited, another bartender kindly told us all about the restaurant and its focus on hospitality. Unfortunately, each bartender had a slightly different explanation of the restaurant's goal concepts which was confusing. We ended up ordering the El Toro and Vaquero (both mezcal drinks). Both were VERY spirit forward to the point that it may have needed better balance. Both drinks had a nice presentation with garnishes, color, and a skull feature at the bottom of the glass. Lastly, we saw many people walk up and look confused as there was no formal host stand. They didn't know if they should seat themselves or wait for someone. Overall, there still seems to be some kinks needing to be worked out as well as some conceptual editing. I feel they are trying to achieve too much and it ends up being confusing for staff and guests. I hope with time, Altavida is extremely successful in the Naperville area and I hope to circle back after some time passes.

I loved the modern decor and lively music being played. The place is truly colorful and has a very energetic vibe. The service was excellent. Everyone was extremely kind and happy to help. Edwin, the general manager was so friendly and accommodating by making sure that everything was to our liking. He is a gem. My husband and I ordered a few different tapas to share. We started with the empanadas and they were truly 10/10, highly recommend! We had the beef and chicken with the chimichurri sauce. We also tried the papas bravas and those were delicious as well. They are spicy and have a nice kick. The portion is pretty big and shareable. Last, we had chicken en mole. Omg, so good! They knocked it out of the park with this one. The presentation is very pleasing and the flavor is 10/10! I'm a hot sauce girly and even carry it in my bag just in case. The sauce they had in the dish was so good that I didn't even think about adding hot sauce! The rice and chicken along with the sauce is chef's kiss. I also tried the Brussels sprouts but they were my least favorite of everything. They should go back to the drawing board on that one. The drinks we had were solid. My husband had an espresso martini and dragonfruit margarita, while I had a mango margarita. All were good. Needless to say, I had an amazing evening at Altavida! The dancing on the second floor was also very fun and entertaining. I will definitely be a regular here!

We figured it would have been the perfect way to top off our evening. For first-timers it might be hard trying to find the speakeasy since at first I thought you had to access it from the Busy Street and walk up three flights of stairs. Actually you just walk inside of the Embers building, find the elevator that's kind of hidden and take it to the Third floor. I thought that the little trip up felt exclusive already. Once you're at the third floor you are treated to a beautiful array of scenery. Exit to your left and you were treated to the bar and some great tables with a cozy, intimate setting. I'm not sure if it was open seating since there was a little podium right off the elevator so we just sat ourselves. Some speakeasies require a certain dress code to keep up with the times. This one thankfully was casual though many people dressed business casual. We actually loved how the staff dressed as well. I have to try their Japanese sex drink and I absolutely loved every ship that I took. The drinks are fairly price. They did have a food menu but it was mainly snacks and small plates that were a bit overpriced. If we're having a large Gathering they have a big private room next door. So, I waved to the other bartender who was female and she politely served me. I also found out that same male bartender kicked out two other friends of my friend I was with for no reason. Plus, when I reconciled my receipts the next day, I discovered that in my "not paying attention," they handed me two other receipts to sign which totaled about $80.00. (At the time, I thought maybe they were just helping each other out with ringing my order up) There's NO way I ordered that much, because it was SO crowded, I couldn't get served more than once, so that's why we left. So, basically I was robbed $80.00, because I wasn't "paying attention." Both receipts say "Potter's Place," even though we were upstairs at Two-Nine, and that's what it says on my credit card statement. Potter's Place was closed downstairs. I have one receipt that makes sense to what I normally order that says "Two-Nine". So on my credit card statement, I have one charge that says "Two-Nine," then two that say "Potter's Place." They scammed me. NEVER again.
