    Porkbelly Bao Buns (2 pcs)

After a very cold outdoor soccer game, a bowl of warm Ramen sounded perfect! We went to Ramen District and overall loved the experience. The restaurant's atmosphere is super cool aa it's located in the basement floor of the old courthouse. The food was fantastic! We tried two different types of ramen, loaded tots (outstanding) and Bao buns. Everything was hot, fresh and served quickly. The only flaw was that the music was quite loud which made it hard to talk to each other and our service. But for the rest of the experience- I can deal with it!

    Tokyo Twilight cocktail

I loved the pork chasu ramen, chicken dumplings, and Tokyo twilight cocktail. Very yummy and great night time atmosphere during karaoke night.

We dined at Ramen District on a Friday evening around 5pm. The restaurant was empty but because we were 3 adults and a baby they put us in the hall so they could push a table together. We were right under an air conditioner and it was freezing. I hate to be that person but we asked to move. Still kept us in the hall. My grandma wasn't thrilled about eating in the hall area. Later in our meal I also overheard the people across from us talk about being cold. It was enough to completely ruin your meal because you are shivering. The brown sugar Boba was amazing. The entire table loved the beef brisket boa buns. I wasn't that impressed with my main of the miso pork ramen. It was "ok" but nothing to write home about. The service while nice was lacking. We had to ask 2x for a high chair. We had to ask for plates when they brought out the starter. We had to ask for utensils because we couldn't eat the buns with our chop sticks or get them out of the dish (and they didn't bring enough) and at the end of the night we had to ask for a bag for our to go containers. I felt like we were constantly having to stop our server to ask for something that should be a given. We shouldn't have to ask for plates..... again the servers were pleasant and would bring them out but I hated having to ask so much. If you do eat inside the ambiance looks great for a date night and as others have said the building is in the old court house so it definitely has a "vibe".

    Beef and brocolli lo mein

I ordered the beef lo mein and got it with only broccoli, beef and noodles no extra vegetables that they normally would put in there. Well, the quantity was good for the money, but almost every piece of beef that I chewed on had gristle and fat. The sauce tasted more of a soy sauce Than a beef lo mein sauce. I also did not like how the beef was in little pieces throughout. Unfortunately I will not be back to this establishment because there is a much better option out there for a beef lo mein.

Freakin' excellent... all of it! Not only was the food out of this world , the portions were ginormous! Absolutely loved eating in the hallways that John Dillinger once roamed as well on his way to his cell. I've seen the downstairs of the old courthouse when I was a kid back in the 80s and I love what they've done with the place!! it was my husband's birthday so he selected a very nice Japanese whiskey as they do have a very nice selection of sake and whiskey as well as craft cocktails. As for the food we started with the smoked wings. The marinade was black, garlic, maple and saki sprinkled with a nice tuxedo, sesame seed and oh my wow!!! The flavors were outstanding, probably the best wings I've had in years! The wings were also super meaty and juicy and they bring out steamed towels for your hands, a nice touch. My husband enjoyed the chef special of the evening which was a black truffle Ramen bowl with oyster mushrooms, snow peas, bean sprouts, and a little pork belly and oh so good! Definitely worth the 15$. I couldn't choose as usual, because there was so many things I wanted to try. I had studied the menu before wanting to have the Thai fried rice with the crab, but they were out of the crab so I asked the server what his favorite things were, and I chose one of them which was the Birria Ramen. It was unreal right down to the tiny little details. There was no way I could finish the broth as it was pretty rich, however, extremely good. I highly recommend Ramen district. We will be back and time again especially because the great service sealed the deal! He was super helpful , attentive and friendly.... Plus he has good taste in old punk music. It was cozy, not too loud and we made sure to ask the server questions. Check it out

Been wanting to try this place out for a while and finally did last night. The restaurant is nestled on the north side of the famous Crown Point courthouse. We arrived around 6:30 on a Wednesday night for dinner and it was fairly busy. It's a small restaurant with only a few tables and a bar. There are also overflow tables in the hallway just outside of the restaurant. We sat at the bar and took in the ambiance. The music was loud alt rock/punk which made it difficult to have a conservation. Definitely more of a hipster bar vibe. Wife ordered a pear martini drink and I tried one of the Japanese whiskeys. We both enjoyed the drinks. The bartender was attentive but the food took quite a while. I ordered the short rib ramen and wife had drunken noodles with chicken. Drunken noodles came out first, but they put it in front me so naturally I started eating it. I got about halfway through when they brought my actual order out. Oops! Wife wasn't happy but her dish was really good lol. Better than mine actually. My dish tasted more like TexMex than Ramen. It was ok but probably wouldn't get it again. Bartender took off my whiskey because our food took so long. Overall decent food, decent service and loud. Not inclined to return but you never know.

The Ramen was excellent. The broth was not too salty and the noodles had just the right bite. The dish had a variety of vegetables, and egg, pork. The tempora green beans were are hard pass. I couldn't tell if they were frozen or over blanched. Nothing special but I will try another app to report in the next visit. The staff was very attentive. The music was loud but didn't bother me. The vibe is epic modern Asian in a historic American building

The flavor they can pack in a single bowl of ramen is incredible. If you are a ramen fan at all, this place is legit! We had the pickled pickle appetizer and the Pork Belly Boa Buns; both amazing. Four different bowls and they all were bursting with flavor. The place has an awesome vibe, full bar with great cocktails, and wonderfully prepared food. Worth the price and the trip. We will definitely be back very soon.

"It's like beer, right?" That quote above is what my wife asked me seconds after the bar tender walked away to fulfill her drink order. I have definitely been here before. Not at Ramen District or even even a Sake Bar, but in this predicament with my wife. Do I tell her that Sake neither tastes or hits "like beer" or do I let her come to this inevitable conclusion on her own? It would make sense that if one was to offer a warning or clarification based on personal experience the recipient of said information would be able to make a sound decision using the data provided. This does not apply to rhetorical questions so unfortunately for your author, the Sake anecdote I had at the ready would fall on deaf ears. The Sake flight it is! She ordered the Smoked Chicken Shoyu Ramen and I, the Drunken Noodles, but only after we shared the Tempura Shrimp appetizer which didn't stand a chance. It's a must try! The entrees were amazing. Full transparency, my tastebuds are still on the mend after a bout of Covid that left me smell-less and tasteless for over a year. Regardless of my diminished capacity to enjoy the subtle nuance of every seasoning and spice, I soldiered on. This is precisely why I sought out an abstract dining experience. I need the exotic flavors to thrive. I just want to feel normal again and if that means spicy Asian cuisine and/or savory Indian food, then Dakara sore de! The food here is great and the ambiance inside the restaurant is as unique as any ramen-ten located in a white, suburban northeast Indiana town could possibly be. The decor is beautiful, the service is prompt, and the staff is engaging and insightful. It is though, entirely possible that I'm a bit bias as a result of the bartender asking me if I was a famous person. If I was a single man on a date I would've slipped him a $50 for the glow-up, but since I'm a married man, the only result from my lady was a dramatic eye roll and a snarky, "yeah, ok." Around the time I finished my entrée, my wife was putting the finishing moves on that Sake flight I mentioned earlier. I should also point out that she was also simultaneously invested in a beer and 1/4 of a second one , when I excused myself to community facilities. This is where and when I calibrated the overall Scoville level of the Drunk Noodle bowl I just enjoyed. I'm estimating it somewhere between 50 and 100K, but my measuring equipment hasn't been professionally calibrated. When I returned to her side, she promptly informed me she required some fresh air to ensure she would be able to remain upright and functional. It was like that time Micky Ward dented the liver of Alfonso Sanchez with less than 1:30 to go in round 7. She was gonna need to take a knee. I had to walk to the car and bring it around to fetch her. That is some good Sake, folks. We were both delighted with that meal and were even more happy than I got to be home by 9 instead of having to troth around the square like every other sucker. I will definitely return to Ramen District because it was excellent and because it's enough. I can be assured that after drinking and dining at Ramen District my wife won't make me go to five other places before we call it a night. It won't even be possible.

I ordered a bunch of different things so we could try a bit of everything, and overall it was really good. I got the sushi boat for two ($62.99), and I was impressed by how much food it was for the price. It's all chef's choice, the rolls we got in our order was a Godzilla roll and a California roll. It also doesn't mention it on DD, but it includes miso soup and salad for two as well, which was a nice bonus. The fish tasted fresh in everything we ordered. We also got more rolls. The super white tuna roll ($6.49) was exactly what you'd expect. The salmon tempura roll ($7.99) wasn't too heavy or oily. The golden pillows appetizer ($6.99) was one of my favorites. It's tofu skin stuffed with rice and and spicy tuna and topped with avocado. It's well balanced and I wish they came in a larger order. You get two pieces. My other favorite was the volcano roll ($15.99) which is fried white fish and cream cheese topped with spicy tuna. I also tried the sweet potato tempura roll ($5.99) which was way too crunchy for my preferences. I would have preferred it to be softer. That said, everything else was delicious, and I'd definitely order again. I'd just skip the sweet potato roll next time.
