Very strange and disappointing experience for my first time here. My friend made a surprise reservation for her boyfriend's birthday, 12 people in total. While we were trying to order drinks, the manager came over because the waitress thought one of my friend's ID "didn't look right". Now his ID is from Illinois, but he then presented MULTIPLE other forms of identification. We were then told that they would not serve him. When my friend and I tried to order drinks, the waitress took a long look at both of our IDs, asked what drinks we wanted, then walked away. When she returned, the manager came with her and we were informed that we would not be served. I am 27 years old and have never had an issue with my ID. My friend is 24 and presented his passport card and FOID card. My 23 year old friend was denied because the waitress claimed she went to school with her, even though she had no idea who she was. Very disappointing experience. I attempted to order a beer and presented my valid Illinois driver's license. I was told they wouldn't accept it because they "didn't like the way it looked." To remove any doubt, I also showed my U.S. passport card and my Illinois FOID card, but they still refused service. What made this even more confusing is that I've been to this establishment before and have ordered beer without any issues using the same identification. A few minutes later, they refused service to the rest of our party as well. We had a group of 14 people, and after the way we were treated, our entire group agreed that we will not be returning. We understand businesses have the right to verify identification, but dismissing multiple valid forms of government-issued ID without a clear explanation was frustrating and left a very poor impression. read more

Lots of seating, so no wait for a table though it was pretty full. Wait staff was efficient and friendly. We split the Reuben Calzone and it was really, really good. Highly recommend, but note that it is quite a bit of food so splitting it is definitely the way to go. I was our DD so I didn't drink but the consensus was the beer was good, too. read more

It was fairly crowded and it looked as if everyone was having a great time. We both had salads and a wings special and everything was delicious. Our server was Lauren and she offered several great recommendations. We hope her manager appreciates the work she does because she is really good at it. This brewery has a large rotation of beers but only 3-4 beers I enjoy. I will stop in every once in a while to try something new. They do serve food and I would recommend ordering one of their pizzas. The one we had was very good. They do have a large bar and plenty of tables inside and outside in their seasonal patio area. The reason for low rating is the lock of simple knowledge by whoever answers the phone of what is on tap. Whoever answers the phone will tell you they don't have a beer on tap instead of checking the board. Place is loud AF so can't have a conversation with the people I'm with. At the bar and it's hard to get service which is par to the course. One person from our party went in ahead of time to put our name on the list for a table. the rest of us showed up 45 min later, anticipating the 1 hour wait time we were originally told. while we waited the adults in our party enjoyed drinks at the bar. Fast forward 2 hours later no word about our table. mind you... there are only 2 tables that hold 10 people, yet no offer to split us into 2 groups of 5. Wait..... did I just come up a logical idea? We asked about that and the answer was "the young men that great you at the door only take your name and head count. Can't people think outside of the box. 2.5hs later we were seated. Ordered our food and drinks, and BTW there is a 20% gratuity added for large parties no mater how the service was. good or bad. 3% if you use a card. When the food came out the runners called out what they call the item, not how it was ordered. 1 persons food item was delayed because it was ordered one way and came out spoken as listed on the menu. It took 3 try's to get it out correctly. to find out it was correct all along, just not spoken as ordered. Why can't the person taking the order deliver the food or at least be there for the delivery? The food came out but nobody was supplied with eating utensils. Had to ask several people for utensils. Where has attentiveness gone? Took the day off? And we still had to pay the 20% gratuity. Pros: Good beer, good food. I wish I could say it was even decent. I can't. Bring cash or get hit with a 3% charge on a card which they have posted. Parking is fine, ambiance inside is ok. Not a full bar so my only choice was a sangria as I don't drink what they serve. Let's start on the apps. We thought we ordered cheese curds. They were fried so hard the cheese was gone from the inside. My wings had to be returned as they were not cooked. They said smoked but when sent back they obviously put them in the oven to cook them longer. I should've just said to not replace. It was also BBQ sauce. I asked if the mild sauce was spicy or BBQ. It was sweet BBQ which is why I asked so I could make an informed choice as I would've preferred spicy. Burnt ends were mostly fat with a strip of meat so not a good bite among the pieces. Best thing was the rice with sausage and gardinera. My friend had the Stromboli with gardinera. The filling was sparse and the gardinera was also sweet. It also came with a tomato sauce that had no seasoning and tasted like tomato juice. With tip it was a waste of $100, time and calories. read more

Kind of a mixed bag So I went here tonight with a party of 8 and they were kind of busy so take that into account. * food was pretty awful by and large. My son's sandwich was inedible, he had the Reuben and he said the second half was mostly gristle and hard to chew, and all of our sides were cold. There was some kind sanfu with my mother in law's order where she asked for an item to be made with a burger patty instead of a chicken patty and they waited until all of our food was ready, and hour later, to tell us that it was impossible so she didn't eat. My wife had a wood fired pizza that was good and I had the burger which honestly was excellent. * service was ok. I never got offered a second beer or another drink, we were never offered condiments despite over half my party had tots or fries. My brother in law and I ordered two different beers and when another employee brought them to the table we asked which was which and, hand to Jesus, this person said "it's beer, you figure it out." All bs aside if I was going to give this place another chance on a less busy night this would've stopped me. Who the heck talks to people like that? * ambiance? I mean it was a steel building housing a brew pub, it is what it is. It was loud as hell and full of screaming children (they aren't allowed after 9 which is nice) but you don't go to a place like this for ambiance you go for * beer was totally serviceable. We had three different IPAs between us and all were good. I think the head shot ipa is available locally in cans and I would suggest trying it out. * the price was more than fair. Great place to visit if your heading to Chicago. Stop in to this awesome place. The people are awesome and very helpful. They will tell you all about their brew. They do have food but I didn't try any. My friend Amanda told me about this place and since it was only 15 minutes up the road Arron where I was staying, I figure why not. Now don't go too late as I did lol. They were so nice and helpful and if I'm ever that way again I'll be sure to stop I and try different beer. I did bring home "head shot" which was good beer. Wish I would have taken more. But that's okay there is always next time. Plenty of seating and plenty of room for you and your friends. This was a place I really liked and visited often. Nothing better than supporting a local brewery. I bought beer kegs for various family functions, came in after work in a plain black t shirt and house shorts and had wings, 5-7 beers alone over a long stretch with no issues, just a small polite interaction with the bartender who has a tattoo on her face as early as 6/13/25, then comes 6/20/25 when I bring my family in who has a thick eastern European accent (I was born here and have no accent) and we are polite, ordering beers, bothering nobody, ordering food, catching up over a period of time ; only difference is we are speaking a foreign language and are told by the same bartender "I have the legal peragative to not serve you the 5th drink, you guys arent loud or drunk I've just decided not to serve you". At the time we asked politely as we were leaving if this was because the language was too fast or aggressive, or maybe we sounded rude and obnoxious, but she said no, that wasn't it it's her peragative and we then asked if we could still support the establishment and order beers to go, she said of course you just can't drink them here. First visit to this restaurant on a busy Friday night. Close to the hotel where we are staying. So noisy so you had to yell. Ordered pizza as an appetizer which was ok. Pulled pork sandwiches and a steak sandwich were our choices. Took almost 30 minutes for the sandwiches. Pulled pork was excellent with the jalapeño slaw on it. Fries were tasty but not real hot. Steak sandwich was ok with the jalapeño slaw as a side. Asked server numerous times about our order and same answer that it was up next which was not true given the span of time. Honesty is easier. Drinks weren't refreshed either. Ordered a mandarin cheesecake to go. It was super pricey and the size of an Oreo cookie. Disappointing service but good food. I ended up at Off Square with friends on a gorgeous Saturday night, so we opted for the outdoor patio that offers picnic benches, grass for pups, and string lights overhead. The place is kid-friendly, as evidenced by the ~10!~ sunburnt children running and climbing around without any real parental supervision. That's not a dig on the restaurant so much as the parents. If you're going to bring your herd to a brewery, please don't treat it as your personal playground. I ended up with the Hot Honey Chicken sandwich at the waitress's recommendation, which was delicious. I'm normally a fan of salty fries, but these were unfortunately way over seasoned. As far as drinks go, I was able to sample the Krispe Kreme before settling on the Prickle Time Part Deux. I'm not crazy about beer, but this was delightfully fruity--almost a cider. I also tried a friend's Cherry Springer Milkshake IPA and wouldn't hesitate to order that next time. I was driving from Indiana to Chicago and decided to stop at Off Square on a whim- and I'm so glad that I did. I stopped in for lunch on a weekday right after they opened. I took a seat at the bar (but they also have indoor and outdoor seating options) and was quickly greeted by a friendly bartender. I decided to try their Cherry Lime sour, which she told me was supposed to be like Sonics cherry lime slushy. It was so delicious and a great sour beer. I ordered the steak sandwich and that was really delicious too. They also have an outdoor section that is dog friendly!! It is very spacious, inviting, and just a great place to check out. Definitely a sign of a restaurant that's getting fewer and fewer customers. Less food on the menu, fewer craft beers to choose from. Burger was a cooked a bit more well than I would prefer, but the server didn't give me an option. Very tasty and so big I had to cut it in half. The fries were excellent. My partner had the Cobb salad and said it was one of the best she has ever had. For drinks, I had a "Run Dog Run" IPA. It was very tasty. The noise level, at Noon on a Friday, is pretty high. Not a great place for a conversation. The music was pretty loud and the metal building makes everything louder.
