Great place for hawaiian food. I think the ramen here is just okay. You got better choices but this isn't bad if you want some hawaiian and ramen at the same time. I like ordering the chicken katsu and hawaiian bbq chicken plates. It's a good amount of food for their standard plate. You can probably feed two if you make extra rice or add more rice. I've also gotten some of their party trays for parties and the party enjoyed the food. You can order online which makes it super convenient. read more

Came to this place on a Wednesday night for dinner. We came to try the Hawaiian BBQ. I got the short rib dinner. The meat was really good but the macaroni salad was ok. My daughter got the shrimp dinner. I tried one of the shrimps and it was a little dry. My mom got the teriyaki chicken dinner and enjoying it. My Dad got the chicken katsu and liked it. We got lumpias and takoyaki to share. I thought those were both good. Over all it was ok. I would like to come back to try the ramen. read more

I have mixed feelings about this place but was overall pretty disappointed. I wanted ramen and the pictures here looked really good. Currently they have some indoor and outdoor seats but you do have to order first at the counter. I don't mind this at all but their menu is pretty extensive and it was my first time here. The staff didn't offer to help or explain anything, they just stared at us while we looked at the menu. I ordered the black garlic ramen, the bbq chicken and beef plate and the tonkotsu. First off, our food smelled so good. However, I thought the ramens were really lacking in flavor. The broths were super light and watery. My broth barely tasted like garlic. It did come with cooked garlic cloves, but the broth did not taste like garlic. I got it spicy and it was not spicy, but the spice had a distinct szechuan like flavor, not at all typical for ramen. Also, the noodles were soggy. No chew to it at all. On the bright side it came with corn lol. The best part of the meal was the bbq plate. The chicken and beef were cooked well and really flavorful. The mac salad was good. However, they don't allow substitutions like other Hawaiian bbq places do in the area. Bummer. Overall, their bbq is better than their ramen and they do offer a variety of different foods, but I would skip their ramen. read more

Really fast and conventional food. Staff are polite and friendly. Ambiance reminds me of Hawaiian casual grinds. Enjoyable I'll be back for Hawaiian style food. read more

So it's a little interesting in the sense that it's about 80% there, the broths are generally good but there's non-ramen toppings like wood fungus and beansprouts. Does not come with seaweed. The pork was a little too fatty. Also it was weird, but both my husband and I became extremely gassy for a few hours after eating this and we think it's the noodle or soup, haha! Not 100% authentic Japanese ramen but ok if you crave it. read more

Yummmm!!! Well, I found this place by mistake, and after reading the reviews I figured I would try it out. Listening to the other fellow yelpers I decided I would get the Hawaiian BBQ, and it's is delish! The first time I came here I got the chicken teriyaki mini for around $8 and it was more than enough food. I gave the left overs to my partner, and he said, " it was good, I wanted more." so today I got him his own meal and another mini for myself. I also ordered a side of Mac salad, $2 but again, it was more than I expected. I will definitely be back again. This place offers good quality at an affordable price and very friendly staff! Although there seems to be a slight increase in pricing, if you order on line you get 10% off... read more

Ramen 101 - Grilled squid with Chicken and Beef BBQ plate - Hawaiian Near Me - Milpitas, California

Every time I go there, for lunch the girl cashier is rude. She don't even say thank you. I went there Thursday December 5, 2024. We do not have to spend our money with you. You need to have a better attitude. Just because I ask for teriyaki sauce, don't mean you have to have an attitude. Not good customer service. read more

I order the grilled squid. Exactly what I wanted and expected. I'd order it again. The sauce was some kind of teriyaki. I had the tonkotsu ramen spicy. It was okay. I liked the broth and making it spicy was even better. I wasn't a fan of the noodles. It felt like it was spaghetti noodles. I kept eating only because of the soup. I wish I could say the same with the noodles. I wonder if there is a way they can cook the egg with less time when they know it's a delivery order. It would have been nice to have a bit of a runny egg. read more

We were looking for a spot that was still open late for take out, and we decided to give Ramen 101 a try. Order on the website, and you get 10% off! - Miso Ramen ($13): I made mine spicy miso - pretty decent ramen - Black Garlic Ramen ($13): Phillip L. said this was just alright - Hawaiian BBQ ($12): meat was tender! - Unagi Rice ($8): standard portion of unagi For take out and a late night meal, it hit the spot. But not sure it's good enough that I would crave it again. read more

Delicious ramen with a variety of other items! The price for all their dishes is reasonable and affordable compared to some other ramen spots. The portions are also plentiful. I enjoyed the Tonkatsku ramen. We also tried the chicken karaage, Hawaiian BBQ mix, grilled squid, and unagi rice. Highly recommend the grilled squid to start! It is located in a plaza so parking was no problem. They have indoor dining with several tables. read more

Ordered online for pickup. The order was ready in 10minutes, as advertised. Here's what we ordered: - Unagi bowl - 4 stars - lots of rice with unagi sauce and a piece of fish on top. Fairly standard for an unagi bowl. Tasted pretty good, the unagi was soft and melted in your mouth. - grilled whole squid - 5 stars - definitely worth it! A ton of food, was a bit drenched in teriyaki sauce (fairly sweet), but you do still get that good charred flavor from the grill. - BBQ short ribs - 5 stars - We liked this too! The short ribs are a little fatty, but isn't that why you order beef short ribs?? We thought it was flavorful and delicious. Veggies were right below the ribs, so any extra flavors and juices were soaked up by the veggies. Very generous portions! We have enough food for at least another meal. Definitely worth another visit. I have my eyes on the takoyaki next! read more

Super fresh and delicious! We were staying at a hotel nearby and decided to try Ramen101 based on Yelp reviews. We were not disappointed. We ordered the 1. Hawaiian bbq mix plate. All the meats were tender and delicious. It came with rice, macaroni salad and some veggies. Super filling and tasty. 2. Chicken Kara-age. So good! Crispy and hot. The sauce was good too! 3. Chasu Rice. Rice topped with pork belly and broccoli. A deal at $7.00 4. We topped it off with an order of Crabmeat Rangoon. Fried to perfection! Overall we were very pleased with our meal and will definitely return when in the area. Good portions too! read more

My family and I were pleasantly surprised at the great tasting food. We ordered the Miso Ramen, Tonkotsu Ramen, teriyaki chicken plate, lumpia and they were all very delicious. The portion size for the Ramen was perfect, and the chicken plate was huge. The only disappointment was the lumpia was much thinner than the picture they show in the restaurant. The prices are high, but comparable to other restaurants in the area. We are definitely going back again. read more

Ramen 101 - Picture of food we ordered - Hawaiian Near Me - Milpitas, California

The worst ramen i have ever had. Main problem was the broth. That broth tasted like the most watered down broth in existence. The meat and bamboo shoots tasted microwave lukewarm. The worst part was that the whole thing wasn't even hot. It was cold. Absolutely avoid the ramen. The chicken karaage? Actually pretty good. Well seasoned and large quantity. read more

Pros: Cleanliness. Brought out the food fast. Barely anyone inside during lunch hours. Cons: Ordered the Black Garlic and it came out to $17. That is super expensive for a mediocre ramen. The broth wasn't mind blowing, it was just...eh. Not even ok, just...eh. The noodles weren't even al dente, the cook pulled it out way too soon leaving a not so chewy bite. The kashu pork came out dry, leaving me to believe it was either frozen or 2+days in the fridge. Egg was not runny like how it is suppose to be, the yolk was almost cooked all the way. Not authentic Japanese nor is it ran by a Japanese(I could be wrong). You could hear them speaking Chinese leaving me to believe again, these are just restaurants that are ran by non Japanese just trying to cash grab an idea. You'll see a lot these types of restaurants around the Bay Area. People with bad taste buds or no idea of authenticity fall for it. It's so bad, they trying to add Hawaiian food to the mix. That to me is just desperation because the entirety is not authentic, not even fusion. Don't get me wrong, there's always that one exception that can do it better, this isn't one of them. Good luck to the restaurant though. Will I come back, nope. read more

Delicious Ramen! Was out running errands and had to try this place! Service: 5/5, the person who took my order was polite and professional. She helped me decide between the black garlic and tonkatsu ramen. Glad I went with the black garlic! Cleanliness: 5/5 New modern decor and super clean! They sanitized between tables, including sweeping under the table. The kitchen also looks spotless. Black Garlic Ramen 5/5: broth was great. I asked for mild and it was perfect. Noodles keep cooking in the broth even after they're served and some places you have to wait a little until it's al dente. I like that I didn't have to wait for my noodles to get the right texture and the texture held. The meat was good too read more

Delicious Mac salad. Tasty bbq beef! The musubi was delicious my kids devoured it. I want to come back and try their ramen options.

Seen this place next to Starbucks in the strip mall so I stopped in to order lunch, service was friendly and food came out pretty fast. Went home to eat and everything we ordered was not disappointing, taste was spot on and the portions were filling. My only dislike was the Spam musubi having too much rice but taste was great, being from the islands I love my spam musubi and Hawaiian grindz as we locals say. read more

The Hawaiian bbq is fire. The reviews here are spot on. The ramen is definitely sub par. The eggs are also no longer soft boiled, they are hard boiled. The broth is missing a layer of depth and flavor you get from a normal ramen broth. We got the lumpia also which was not bad. Definitely would recommend the bbq chicken and chicken katsu. read more

Ordered to-go. This place had very fast service on a Tuesday afternoon. The food is mediocre; it is good for the price. The ramen broth is mild, the noodles have a good texture, and the meat is good. The spam musubi is tasty. The vegetable tempura serving is generous, but the batter is relatively thick. It tastes great with the tempura sauce though! Overall, I would definitely return to try some of their other dishes. read more

Ramen 101 - Black garlic ramen. Mildly spicy. - Hawaiian Near Me - Milpitas, California

The food looked amazing but the taste was so bland.. no sauces offered or even on the table. The soup was already coagulating the minute I received it. Our order came out in less than 5 minutes and sure that's great for fast food but a restaurant?.. The food seemed to be frozen foods, even the appetizer. :( The costumer service wasn't great either, it was our first time here so we didn't know if we sit ourselves or wait to be seated. The cashier didn't say anything, so we ordered our food and just sat at a table. When she brought us the food she wasn't really talkative at all, just said the names of the foods. My brother complimented her hat and she didn't say anything either.. She just went back to the front pretty quickly and looked like she was on Tiktok... The ambiance was actually ok, just really quite. I really wanted to like this place since it's close by but this was definitely a first and last time. read more

Dishonest business. Tried to double-charge me months later. Please check your credit card statement carefully if you eat there.

I wanted this place to be good and it seemed like it would be based on the ratings however we were disappointed. The hawaiian BBQ plate & spam musubi was a very sizable portion, the food tasted good but was very mild, it was hard to detect any actual flavor on the beef and chicken. With hawaiian BBQ, typically you're looking for strong flavors to eat on plain rice but the beef and chicken missed the mark. Spam musubi has a very large amount of rice so that was interesting but it didn't taste bad. Overall, the food was fine but we won't return because we'd rather buy bbq elsewhere or make it ourselves. read more

It's been maybe two years since I last visited this location; prices have slightly increased but the food here is still a deal. Fountain drinks are still $1.99, but the cup size has been reduced. Interior is clean and nice, as is the bathroom. I ordered the Hawaiian BBQ beef - maybe even better than what I remember of my last visit, as the marinade wasn't very sweet this time around. The sides:2 scoops of white rice, 1 scoop cabbage & broccoli, 1 scoop macaroni salad (no substitutions) were fine. I also ordered the chicken karāge, not much change since my last visit except that it might have had more batter this time around. It's not "authentic" but good for what it is, though I probably will stop ordering it as the extra batter, while fried until it's crispy, gives it more of that oily fried food taste which doesn't appeal to me these days. Service was fine for a fast-food place and they bus tables quickly. read more
