I live in the middle of three different grocery stores, but I find myself going to this Ralphs like 99% of the time. I like their layout, I can find pretty much everything I want, the staff is extremely friendly, and since their full-on renovation around 2 years ago, everything looks brand spankin' new. Meat section - the meats are typically very fresh and Ralphs has the best meat prices. I'm always amazed when I find like three thick, thick cuts of Prime New York Strip, normally, e.g., $50 on sale for like $18. Seriously, how do they stay in business? Produce section - Ralphs has a great produce section, with fresh fruits and veggies and a decent mix of both regular and Organic items. TIP: Ralphs "Open 24/7" status is no more. It has ceased to be. It has kicked the bucket. It is now open: "Monday-Saturday: 7 am-12 am, Sunday: 6 am-12am". Only in Awesometown (he says sarcastically). read more

I went their to buy lottery for the new year, had $100 bill and needed smaller one to use it in the lottery machine. Usually I did that before at the customer service front desk but today Alex( the Manager) told me that I have to go and stay online at any cash registers, I did that but when I got to the cashier she told me that; she can't! then she doesn't have enough cash! What an amazing find during the Covid-19 pandemic. I waited in line for about 10 minutes. Although the line appeared long it went by very fast. I was astonished to find everything I needed. The store was very well stocked. All the meat, eggs, and even dial soap - a far cry from my usual grocery store on the corner. I made sure I commended the staff for everything they're doing. I like this Ralph's. Been coming here for years but the deli dept people are reAlly not very good. They hardly notice when I'm waiting. They never smile. Always busy doing something other then helping customers. And I can NEVER get them to make "shred" on the ham. LOVE THIS RALPHS! It's well maintained inside and out. The have good section of items. Produce is well rounded and fresh, for big box store. I noticed a lot of the tags on the vegetables and fruits say local and organic. That is something I really notice and appreciate! The lines have notoriously been bad here. There's never a time where you can run in and grab a couple of items real quick. I just stopped her to buy some flowers for my significant other, and after going through the self check out, I thought to myself "Wow, I was able to come in and get one item without any issues." I must of jinxed myself, because once I left the store and was in the parking lot, I was flagged down by the florist who was yelling out "Sir! Sir!" who stopped me in front of people coming in and out of the store because they thought I was stealing flowers. I had the receipt in my hand, clearly visible, with the flowers after going through self checkout. I have worked for a similar type of grocery store when I was younger, and I know their policy is to not confront someone possibly stealing. The fact that this happened after I had left the store's front entrance is disturbing and embarrassing. Once i found the cakes i aske the lady close by in the deli section if she can help me get a cake. She made it clear that it was not her department. I have been going to this Ralphs for only the past 3 years, however, the quality of their fresh items has gone downhill and the shelves are never stocked. This has been very noticeable in the last 6 months. I am so sick and tired of, for example, checking the shelf for shampoo and finding the shelves almost bare without the one I am looking for, only to find a huge standee blocking the aisle 15 feet away with a bunch of shampoo and conditioner literally thrown in wire racks, unorganized. I have complained to this store on every single survey about having standees in the aisle that make navigating a cart around another shopper almost impossible. I feel like I can never stop in the aisle to dwell on finding an item because there is so much crap blocking the aisles you constantly have to move your cart all the time for other shoppers. You should be wanting your customers to feel comfortable while shopping not irritated all the time trying to serve around the crap in the aisles! Sometimes, I have to push the standees out of the way to grab a protein bar that I want in the cereal aisle because the standees block the items on the shelves. I once tried to find a can of beans in the canned aisle, and there were only three types of bean on the shelf because all the others were located back in the refrigerated pasta section on the complete opposite side of the store on a wire stand, where no one would think to look for canned beans!!! Don't even get me started on the lack of items on the shelves! I've taken photos in the store that show how empty they are. I've timed items being out of stock for over two months at a time! Then, they mis-stock things so you have to look at the shelf tag for the item you want and dig all the way to the back of the stock to find THAT item. Half the time the shelves are being stocked in the afternoon with big dollies full of boxes blocking the aisles. Don't MOST stores do this early morning or late night when stores aren't full of customers? In the last few months, I have had to return strawberries that all molded the very next day after purchase, kale that when I opened the bunch was infested with bugs, loaves of bread that were moldy yet not past the expiration date (ones you can see inside the bag), and today I have to return some crab legs I bought 2 days ago that smelled like ammonia today that has a sell by date of today. Two days ago, they had chicken on sale for $0.88/lb but more then 3/4 of the chicken selection was priced incorrectly so I had to find two that were correct. Last week, the entire meat department called in sick so a butcher from the store down the street (Granary) was there and barely anything was stocked. We were talking and he told me how disgusted he was with the condition of the meat department at this store. I prefer to shop only once a week, so I end up with a full cart at checkout, but there have been some times I came in where there is ONE checker with a line of 6 people deep because they changed HALF the registers to self checkout. No way am I going through self checkout with a full cart nor am I going to scan my own groceries while I shop and bag them as I go. It already takes me over an hour to shop once a week, but when they are so obviously NOT staffing the front end, to makes me irritated that I have to wait over ten minutes to get checked out then the cashier has scanned all my items, I've paid, and there is no courtesy clerk to bag anything, so it takes the cashier another 5 minutes to bag. And you wonder why people are just ordering online through Amazon!!! Grocery stores are a goods-and-services based industry, but this Ralphs on Decoro and McBean is neglecting everything I used to love about this store. Guess I'm heading back to Albertsons. OH...one last thing, the Signal wrote an article about some council member coning to the store talking about recycling plastic bags. You know, I have tried to find the bag recycling bin at this store at least 5 times, and they don't have one. I asked employees every time, and the one time I had bags with me, I watched the employee throw them into the trash can. This store is such a disappointment, especially since they just "upgraded" it to a Fresh Fare. Sad, very sad. read more

Never in my life did I think I would write a grocery store review :/ but my experience was *that* bad. I got the Reward Nazi for a cashier ~ Michelle Parks~ AVOID her at all costs. I forgot my phone which had my reward card in it. I couldn't remember my old cell number attached to it so I ask the guy in line behind me if I could use his reward card. Nbd I'm thinking....however, Michelle, rather rudely, pipes up and says, "If he gives you his reward number, he will get fired!!" WTH?! I wish I could could give this stop negative stars. I buy the Mickey Mouse apple juice all the time. I got through three of them looked in the box and it was full of mold. That's right mold that can make a child very sick. The mold has been fermenting for weeks. I hope my son does not get sick. I bought it four days ago. I've been shopping here for 15 years. I went through self check out with 5 or 6 items. I was running my card through to pay when a male employee stated that I still had an item in my basket. My hands were full, so I looked and saw a bag of $2 pretzels. The man stood in front of my basket. I tried to balance and not drop anything while he blocked my front. I felt very uncomfortable. This is specifically for the deli. This is the 3rd issue I've had here. I'm ready to start going elsewhere. On Sundays it is nice to get some fried chicken and sides that are premade after a long/busy week. They don't have the number tickets any longer & the employees don't even ask who is next. There were 3 of us, waiting. I was second in line and the employee went directly to the third in line & that woman didn't protest. Because of that delay I missed out on 3 pieces of fried chicken because the first man had moved on from sides & bought out all the chicken. If he needed such a large amount he should've called ahead. Ralphs has restrictions on other products, why not this? He could've waited for more. I moved to Valencia just prior to the opening of this Ralph's & have been a loyal customer, since. The store is clean, produce is fresh & the prices are average for a chain grocer. The selection is often a bit under expectations. For some reason, they seem to over stock some unpopular items & under stock 'the good stuff", especially in the fresh bakery department. I could not, in good conscience, give them a four or five star rating because of the stocking in the bakery department & the HORRIBLE NEW REARRANGEMENT OF THE AISLES! The newest rearrangement of the store is not intuitive at all; it's so random that you find yourself traversing the store back & forth to find things. As of late, I have left the store without getting everything on my list because I was just too tired to search. I have found the deli & fresh meat department employees to be helpful & responsive (though the guys in the meat department rarely smile -- they must not like their job.) The deli employees are always smiling & friendly -- offering free samples, too. The bakery department staff is another story. They actually hide so that you can't ask them anything. I've seen them walk very quickly into the back to avoid people at the counter (if ignored, I just go over to the deli & ask them to page someone.) They KNOW that their selection is poor but claim to have no input (probably true.) I have gotten nice cakes & they were decorated acceptably for a great price; I would order from them again. I'm a frequent shopper, have ordered catering items like prepared meals, deli trays, birthday cakes, special floral arrangements & more. So, I'm quite familiar with what the store has to offer. Ralph's is more of a convenience for me, though. If I need something of a bit higher quality, I'd go to Pavilions (such as for cakes.) Of course, the cream-of-the-crop in grocery is Whole Foods -- their offerings are so much superior, I just wish they were closer to my home. PS: the Ralph's Pharmacy is ABSOLUTELY NOT of the same caliber as the regular chain pharmacy's such as CVS or Walgreens. They don't keep a large stock, often having to wait until the next day to get your prescription in & their hours are not nearly as long as the other drug stores. I don't recommend them. read more

Is it possible to give a zero-star rating? Customer service has gone way, way down since they implemented their "Scan, Bag & Go" program. No one seems to be interested in customer service anymore. I've witnessed several instances just earlier this evening during one visit, where I approached various staff members to request assistance, but they each seemed bothered or too interested in their conversations. If it means getting rid of the program to regain the customer service that was once present just a few short months ago, I say, "Go Away (SB&G)!" if it's not the cause,then customer service needs some major improvements Bring back my Ralphs! read more

Freshness in all departments! Deli. Bakery. Produce. Meat. Sushi. Etc. I have been shopping at this location since the day they opened their doors. I use to play in the vacant area where the entire shopping center stands as a child. I must say that this store is one of the best grocery stores I have ever shopped at and when I walk into other stores I immediately become judgmental. I recently shopped at the Ralph's on Pico and The Old Road and I honestly wish the store wasn't affiliated with Ralph's what so ever! Horrible everything! Anyhow, this store is quite lovely. I've been to many Ralph's, especially throughout the San Fernando Valley. This is one of the better ones. It's clean. Good staff. And you can get in and out, which is very important to me, much easier than most of those I've been to at other locations. The exception will always be if you go here during peak times, etc. But, this is really one of the better Ralph's. Oh, and the checkers or the people who are at the register ( I think they're called Checkers), they're efficient. No time wasted with I'd say almost every checker I've come across. I think the only time it slows down for me is when I use self-service. I like the self service area, but let's face it, I don't have the skills as those who work the register and can take one look at the item as it's moving along and immediately know what to punch in. With practice, I'll get it down. Good location. Friendly staff. Well stocked store. Good deals throughout. Parking is very easy. Yeah, I think you'll like it. read more

I love this grocery store! I saw the negative reviews and had to double check if we were talking about the same store. The produce is always fresh and perfect, customer service is amazing, I never need to wait in line and I've been coming here for 14 years. My bags are always packed perfectly, an egg has never been broken and my produce is handled with consideration. It's more expensive than Sprouts, but I often choose to pay more for friendly staff, ease of parking and checking out, which is turn-key. Again, I don't relate to the negative reviews here, and apparently people aren't checking yelp for their grocery needs, because it is always busy, bustling and constantly being stocked. read more

Such a clean store! I stepped in for two minutes but I wanted to stay and come up with an excuse to buy groceries! As soon as I walked in, the store smelled soo good! Every thing was neatly stocked and the floor was so clean- no dirt anywhere! I spent my two minutes in the baking aisle with all the baking goods and saw that this store has so many more products than my neighborhood Ralphs! It is a grocery store. That sells alcohol. What a concept, I wish the Colorado groceries could do the same. The staff was very accommodating, the deli manager/clerk came out from around the counter to help us find a particular cheese. She also handed us very ample samples of the turkey slices we were purchasing. Guess she thought we looked hungry. We were. The cashier was quick to use some bar-code to give us the member pricing on my first trip.
