THE WORST customer service from any grocery store in the Santa Clarita Valley. On Sunday, I went in and Frida was extremely rude. She had no sense of urgency when assisting customers. While I was waiting at the register for her to ring me up, the least she could have done was acknowledge me and say she'd be right with me, but instead she kept talking with her coworkers. Once she finally started ringing me up, she began grabbing the hand basket on the conveyor belt and mumbling to herself, seeming upset. I mentioned that everything I had was already rung up and that the basket wasn't mine. She then started shouting at me, saying she knew that. Then, when it came time for payment, she began shouting at me again because apparently I was "taking too long," even though the screen was prompting me to wait for the cashier. She kept yelling that she was waiting on me and telling me to "go." When I called the store to complain, the floor manager said she would pass the message along and that the store manager would reach out. Well, here we are four days later and still no call from the store manager. I have only visited this store a handful of times, and every experience has involved awful customer service. I will never shop here again. That was the last straw. If employees don't want to assist customers, then please consider adding self-checkout stations. read more

Came in on a very specific mission: to find the limited-edition Hello Kitty soy sauce bottle my daughter had to have. Mission accomplished... and then some. What started as a quick stop turned into a genuinely fun shopping experience. This store is packed with imported gems--Cento products, Cadbury, and even our family's favorite noodles from France (which I usually have to hunt down or order online). It felt like a mini international food adventure. Prices were great--some were insane like the shredded Parmesan cheese at $3.49 a pound definitely made me do a double take. The highlight, though, was Fernando, who orders for the store and I believe may be a supervisor. He was incredibly warm, welcoming, and full of great suggestions. You can tell he genuinely cares about what the store carries and about the customers. I'll absolutely be back. Love this market for the selection of food but had a very disappointing experience with the way a manager handled a situation. Was charged twice for an item and when I went back with my receipt to get a second item ( since I was charged for two) the manager Rosie said I should have come to her first before getting the item and coming to the front with it. I explained I am coming to you , I am not walking out of the store I am literally coming to YOU!!!! Poor customer service by the manager on 03.11.2026. Don't know her name, she was rude, I had a bag, cotton handbag, she insisted to check my bag, when I was exiting the shop. Been a regular customer there for 15+ years, such a pathetic thing, she picked on me. Not sure why? I felt discrimination was at its peak by this female manager on this evening. Valencia, CA, shop. The staff is always so friendly and you can find someone so easily as they are all around. The produce is always fresh but a little pricey I might say. I occasionally come in her for some international foods, but this last visit was pretty disappointing. When I headed over to the freezer section I noticed most of the food in 2 cabinets was pretty thawed out. The thermometer was reading 45 degrees. I alerted management and he said he would address it. Nevertheless I was pretty disappointed not being able to grab some lumpia and tocino. Prices here were also pretty high, even for commonly found items. I did walk away with some flan from the bakery that was delicious. Hopefully they fix the issues asap and the quality resumes for everyone's safety. read more

I like the variety of food and prices are hit or miss based on the week. Generally the checkout is friendly but today the person did not want to bag my items. I did not say anything. My wife likes going to this market for produce and meats. She complains that the butchers aren't friendly and there's one individual, tall, hispanic, who's been working there for a while, that picks and chooses who he wants to assist. When my wife approaches the counter to order and there's no other customers around and he's available, he doesn't bother to assist her. He walks away to pretend he's doing something else. Once she's assisted by another butcher, another customer will approach, he will assist the other customer. I didn't want to believe her, but when I go with her, I will stay my distance to watch and she's definitely right. She said the butchers always sigh or make comments when you want to select the right quality of meats to buy. She hates approaching the butchers but, she will still go there to buy our meats. She said she doesn't get this type of service by butchers at Stater Bros. and Vons. They're friendly, helpful and provide great service. She stated your cashiers and manager are friendly. I've been a regular customer since it was called Valley Produce Market, but today I witness something I've never experienced before in any other supermarket in Santa Clarita. The cashier on register number 5 didn't bother to greed me but when ahead when started insulting another employee that was helping on register 7. I kind of know Spanish and I know for sure she called her f*ckng stupid in Spanish. I have been visiting a week since they opened in 2010! I'm always so shocked as how much cheaper they are compared to Ralphs and Albertsons. the deli counter has great sales and the staff at the meat counter are friendly and consistently warm! but my favorite is the produce .... so affordable . my dollar can really stretch here! I was taken to your store and loved it . I found things that I had seen on the cooking shows that I was shocked to see. The prices are really good for the items I was looking for. But I live so far away it takes time and a lot of gas. So I would love to get a ad from the store. I tried to see the ad on the tablet and it doesn't get bigger so I'm having trouble seeing the prices and names of the items. I live in Mojave and I have to get my friend to go with me. I have been going to this store on a regular basis. Multicultural and clean but limited organic produce though. Nice managers specially Armik. He always greets the customers and have a smile on his face. Also, Annjanet (one of the cashiers) needs to be recognized. During the last six-month period we have been shopping at Valley Marketplace in Valencia, we have substantially increased our grocery purchases. This is due in part to their wide selection of ethnic products, fresh produce and cheeses at reasonable prices, convenient parking, and of course their friendly customer service. When Armik, the congenial, hard-working store manager, is around, we have a pleasant shopping experience. With his helpful, problem-solving attitude, he sets the tone for caring and efficient customer service. Manning the check-out registers is an all-female staff, and one staff member named Minarvat needs mention for her zeal and diligence in performing her tasks. However, there are areas for improvement: need for better human traffic movement in the narrow passageway of the produce section; competitive pricing of branded products which are now more expensive than the large grocery chains; and availability of organic produce. If the current good practices continue, and the suggested improvements happen, Valley Marketplace could become our one-stop grocery shopping store. Good luck! read more

As long as there's half a chance they are reading this - what happened to the mini pumpernickel bread you used to have? Today, I asked where a sale item was and three different employees either gave ambiguous directions ("Probably on the other side side of the store") or told me to ask someone else. today 12/31/25 I was in the Valencia valley produce at the deli and one of the older ladies there I didn't get her name, but I will. was very rude to my granddaughter and myself. She made my granddaughter cry. Even other customers told the manager how rude she was. This is the grocery store I always go to. The manager there is very friendly, he apologized for her bad behavior. I had customers approach me and tell me how it was hard for them to witness that and that the deli clerk was out of line. One of the customers even told the clerk in his language to calm down. I really hope she gets reprimanded for her bad behavior and being such a bully to a ten year old. You can find Armenian, Russian, other middle eastern goodies. The sarma lacked flavor from the deli and some of the veggies and fruits were not as fresh as I was expecting. It's the only store in the Santa Clarita Valley that has more ethnic foods so I guess it doesn't leave much choice, but the dry packaged goods are ok. Not sure about the "fresh." One item that stood out were the packaged Ukranian "pryaniks," which were more moist than the original and had chocolate inside. They have a variety of Armenian lavash breads, which I can't seem to find anywhere else except Albertsons in the Santa Clarita Valley. The Persian berberi was also good and seemed pretty fresh. Service is good they're very nice, and the store is big with lots of room to shop. Like most stores, you'll have certain items that you may purchase here and others that you may purchase elsewhere. read more
