I've heard so much hype about Aldi over the years and I recently started shopping there about once a month. Their prices are fair on most items and I like that their brand items have better for you ingredients for the most part. I will say that you can usually tell the difference between their brand and the originals. Their home and clothing section can be addicting. They have all kinds of things that you wouldn't plan to get on a trip to the store, but at their prices you can't resist! My biggest complaint would probably be the fresh produce. It's very hit or miss with what they offer. Also check the produce well because sometimes it's rotten. Don't forget your quarter for the carts and shopping bags! read more

Aldi has some great items! Think of it as a specialty store, I don't come here to do all my shopping but they have the majority of beta you want and need. Fantastic selection of pastries, wine, cheese, ham, charcuterie items etc! They have some delicious frozen items as well, their pizzas are an amazing deal! Workers are friendly, they charge 25 cents to use their cart and once returned you get your quarter back. Bring bags! Store is clean, aisles are long, be sure to check produce, sometimes it's great, but fruit turns quickly during summer! read more

This Aldi is about the size of other Aldi's I've been too. I've found that Aldi is bright, spaced out nicely and usually fully stocked of most items. My only wish is that they had a larger selection of fresh fruit and veggies. I found some cherries last weekend and they were surprisingly good, even though not in season (February)! If you're looking for a wide variety of different deli meats, cheeses and other items you won't find in other regular grocery stores, you'll find it at Aldi. Yes, you pay a quarter for a cart but you get it back. Yes, have to bag your own groceries but we've been doing that since the pandemic..so we all should be used to that by now. read more

OMG!! I am in LOVE with this store...Where can you find food cheaper than Costco and Smart & Final...HERE! They also have other household items, pet food, paper goods..you name it! I found this awesome wall clock for only $6.99! Unbelievable deals here. I love the system they have with carts also. You put a quarter in to get a cart and the quarter gets returned back to you when you return the cart. What an awesome system. No carts all piled up in the parking lots. Came today to buy groceries because everything is so over priced everywhere and I left with two big bags full of healthy items; pita bread, protein bread, wheat crackers, sliced almonds, flax seed, hummus, feta cheese, bag of bell peppers , pack of zucchini, cantaloupe, frozen, corn, peas, and mixed vegetables, and spinach salad mix. All for $33.26. The pita bread was soft and really good and the hummus well I was shocked because it tasted the same as the one they sell (Sabra $5.99) at Albertsons and it's half that price. This store is worth visiting to save hundreds. I've been paying $50-$100 at least for each trip to the store at other stores with empty bags. I was surprised at the quality of the food for the price. I'm going to go into this with a four star rating due to the costs for the items that are in the store. The store (as noted from others) took over an old Ralphs and has been renovated to make it nice and open. Aldi has carts that you rent for a quarter and then when you return it you get the quarter back....which means likely as I saw, no carts to ding your car in the lot. There are a lot of non-name brand items but so far what we have bought there has all been good quality and cheaper than the name brand items. Definitely making Aldi the first stop on weekly shopping. Other items that can't be bought here will still need to be purchased elsewhere, but stopping here first makes sense and cents....lol. read more

I LIKE IT! Despite other reviews complaining about this place. It's efficient i thought, when you're checking out! They scan everything fast! And then you bag your stuff up on the side shelves (a little more exercise doesn't hurt!). You can either bring your own bags with you or buy their sturdy plastic bags for like $0.15. I had a filled cart, and managed to fit 90% of my stuff in 4 of their bags lol. What really impressed me is that they offered a good amount of ORGANIC products for a cheaper price. They usually run $5 or higher anywhere else, and here, you can find $1-2 organic goods! Not bad! I'll be frequenting you as often as i can Aldi! Welcome to the SCV! read more

Aldi is my go-to, main grocery store. The prices are cheap, not always cheaper than Walmart or Sams, but for the quality it's good pricing. Especially their organic lines, produce, and special buys. I recommend Aldi's products-- not necessarily the store experience-- to everyone. My issue is with their curbside/ Instacart service. There are SO MANY ongoing issues, and they just cannot get themselves together even after months. The orders are ALWAYS delayed, rarely on time, or alternately, done so extremely early that you have no chance to approve substitutions or make changes. There's no way to contact the store directly. Like today, my order was delayed. When I finally got notification and was able to go to the store, I was given a message that there was no staff to bring the order to the pickup area which is like 50 feet from the storefront. Now, normally, despite the fact that I paid for Instacart and curbside service, I would just walk inside and be whatever about it. But it's not normal times, it's a global pandemic, and I had my 3 children who are too young to be vaccinated with me (because it's a CURBSIDE pickup). My son has heart and lung conditions along with special needs, so we're not going into stores. And sorry not sorry, that's no one else's choice to make but mine. This is not the first time Aldi (they're not employed by Instacart, they are Aldi employees) has screwed up my family's order for the week, wasted my time, wasted my gas, and been generally awful at what they're supposed to do. The good: Aldi markets have always been my go-to place for sushi grade frozen ahi tuna. They're great for seared tuna or poke. I've been a fan of Aldi ever since living on the east coast. This store was common where I lived the last 3 years so I was very excited to see this store here at this location. The exterior was nicer than any other Aldis I've been to before. They also carry alcohol (something NY doesn't do). the prices here are stupendous and they offer their own brand of everything (the way Trader Joes does). They even sell household products and seasonal decor. You can randomly find things like plants, towels, garage accessories, lawn decor and baby products. I noticed that this location sold way more Hispanic/Mexican foods than the Aldi locations in Upstate NY. Since the store originated in Germany, they have tons of great German items during Christmas time that include Pfeffernuesse! The bad: They had frozen pizzas (including a cauliflower pizza) but it only came in pepperoni or cheese options. I didn't see any that offered vegetables or a combination of toppings. The interesting: To get a cart you must enter a quarter into the slot on the cart. To retrieve your quarter, you must return the cart to the cart area. This is a great system often seen in Europe. It promotes a clean parking lot and helps maintain the carts in good condition. I parked near a cart that someone didn't return so I gained a quarter on my trip. Cashiers here sit when they scan your stuff. Make sure to bring your own grocery bags. There's a counter in the front where you can bag your own stuff. read more

While I was at this store in the afternoon, I accidentally walked into an aisle which had numerous boxes dispersed on the floor. Suddenly, one of the employees shouted at me from far away as she approached me. Rudely and loudly, she asked me to leave the aisle as it was supposed to be closed. However, there was no sign placed indicating to customers that the aisle was closed. Not even the placement of the boxes on the floor could give customers an idea that the aisle was closed. The boxes were in disarray all over the aisle. I asked to talk to the manager about her discourteous behavior. She said she was the manager, and when asked she said her name is Lisa. She refused to provide me with a phone number that I could use to file a complaint read more

The only reason we came here was because we were in town doing other stuff and I said "Omg, there's an ALDI here." To nag a shopping cart, you need to deposit 25 cents but you get it back if you return the cart. Pretty smart. Saves time having to pick all those carts up in the lot and your car getting dinged. Aside from that, this place is cheap heaven. There's quite a selection of stuff. We stocked up on produce, knick knacks, snacks, and whatever else we could find and the price was right for just about everything. Plus there's plenty of parking and the staff is helpful. We shop here often. If I have to do large shopping trips I usually go elsewhere. Staff are friendly but I've noticed that some cashiers seem to toss items into the cart (and are annoyed if you don't use their cart but bring a box). It seems some cate more about their speed score on the register than they are about customer service. read more

I do love Aldi but this particular location is the worst for Instacart. For months they have been saying how short staff they are so there is no one available to shop or bring groceries curbside. Any other Aldi location my orders are processed normally with no issues but for some reason this store can't seem to get it together. Back to back they continue to cancel my orders or reschedule. It's EXTREMELY frustrating especially when we need these services the most (disabilities and illness) if this location cannot provide adequate service then this location should not be an option through Instacart. We have to PAY for these services. They are just wasting customer's time and money. read more

I have been shopping at this store since it first opened, but have seen a marked deterioration in both the service and selection of products. While their prices are still very competitive, my shopping experience has been a disappointment. The store is routinely out of 1/2 and 1/2, iced tea, mac and cheese, zero calorie soft drinks, certain beers, ice cream flavors... and more. The shelves are constantly blocked by containers with either empty boxes or product. If employees were working on these containers, I could understand, but most of the time they are unattended... just blocking products. Last week, an employee was running a power sweeper around the store, but he parked it right in front of the frozen food freezer and walked away. The shopping carts require a 25 cent coin to use. On many occasions I have put a quarter in the cart and the cart never separated. The newly hired cashiers need to be trained in customer relations. Bottom line, you get what you pay for... I'm going back to Walmart or Ralphs. At least they say "thank you". read more

I really don't get the one star ratings. No, this is not like a Ralph's where you can get everything. And no, they won't have your favorite brand cereal. And yes you have to return your cart to get your quarter back (the agony!) This is the absolute best store once you know how to shop there. Not only their weekly produce specials are AMAZING but their normal prices are very affordable. Their take and bake pizza is better than Costco at 2/3 the price. You cannot beat the price of eggs (I've gotten a dozen for 49cents once) or milk or meat or butter ($2.99/lb) unless you constantly bargain shop at various stores. Regular bananas between 35 and 49 cents a pound!! Who does that?!? I love their season specials and their bargain wine is very good. The prices on their organic produce is great too. The date of the initial review is December 14, 2016. Today, December 14, 2016, ALDI had their preview day. I was there and received store gifts and coupons. I also received a shopping bag. **** Additional review based on my return visit on December 16, 2016 **** I decided to return to ALDI on December 16, 2016. Here are my observations and comments. When the store opened on December 14, 2016, it appeared to me like it was going to be a very promising grocery store. Today I was extremely disappointed. 1) I have read that the owners of ALDI are the same German owners of Trader Joe's. To me this store is Trader Joe on steroids. 2) You must have a quarter to unlock a shopping cart from the front of the store. Who carries a quarter nowadays? ALDI expects that you will return the cart after you have gone to your car to unload and to get your quarter back. Well, in my case, it is not going to happen. I am not walking back all the way through the parking lot for a quarter. 3) There are no carry baskets inside the store. If you want to buy just a few items, like three or four products, find an empty card box that are scattered around the store or get the cart for a quarter. 4) The store is very small compared to other markets in the same area. As a result they don't carry a variety of brands of the same product. For example, they only carry two kinds of peanut butter. For the most part, the food brands are unfamiliar to me. I will stay with the brands that are known to me that I can purchase from other markets within the same area. 5) The cashier sits on a high seat. Initially, I thought this was very considerate of management until I realized the reason: the cashier does not bag your groceries. They just ring it up and put it back in the shopping cart. You have push the cart to a nearby shelf where you have to wait your turn to bag your purchases. It is like getting your items back after the airport TSA agent goes through your belongings. 6) At another checkout stand, an elder man with a cane was trying to place his food directly into a bag he brought with him. The cashier snapped at him accusing him of holding up the line. A very rude and inconsiderate employee. 7) I don't like the concept that a food item has to be handled four times. One time to put it in your basket, another time to take it out of the basket and put on the belt, a third time your food goes back to the basket, and the fourth time take it out and put it in your own bag. 8) My observation was that their brand name prices are only a few pennies cheaper than the well-known brands elsewhere. To me, for a few pennies, it is not worth sacrificing the quality. Perhaps if you spend a $1000 or more a month on groceries, the saving may add up. But if you spend much less than that, the savings are negligible and hardly worth sacrificing the well-known brands. I frequent Costco and to me their prices are cheaper for brand names. Furthermore, the prices at the 99 Cents Store are also cheaper. Quarter for a shopping basket, limited selections, bag your own groceries, rude cashier who sits on a business chair, no thanks! If you like to be an ALDI employee and not get paid, then ALDI is for you. So thanks but no thanks to this place. read more

*please note that I did not actually go into the super market* I have been excitedly waiting months for the neighborhood Aldi to open. I hear nothing but amazing things from others about this super market chain. This Aldi replaced the local Ralph's I have been happy with for over 2 decades. But I was so looking forward to shopping here. However, as I walked up to the front door I noticed a sign that said give a quarter and get one back for a shopping cart. There were a few bewildered people trying to figure out how to get a cart out. I thought it must be a mistake. I went inside and feeling stupid I asked a very friendly employee, who was stocking shelves, about their give a quarter get a quarter policy. She confirmed that you need a quarter to get a cart, but walked me over to a register and offered me a quarter. She was very friendly and helpful but I was taken aback that a new business trying to get off the ground would charged a potential customer before ever setting foot in the store. Very very inconvenient in this day of deterrent technology. I understand the need to protect shopping carts but there are plenty of ways to do so with technology and not frustrate or alienate customers. I politely refused the young lady's genuine kindness and walked out of the store disappointed at the inconvenience. I am not sure who still carries change with them. I don't even carry cash. I don't think this is a sufficient deterrent for whatever they are trying to accomplish, as I type this review watching people leave carts in the lot forgoing the return of their valuable quarter. If I ever decide the inconvenience of carrying quarters outweighs the convenience of this super market I will revisit my review. Until then I will drive further to shop at the local subpar Vons who provides free shopping carts I don't have to walk back to the entrance for the return of my quarter. read more

I went to your opening yesterday and when I was walking down the aisle I witnessed an associate being talked to by another worker in a very rude manner. I didn't think anything of it until I saw the associate ask her a question and her reply was "Are you really that dumb?" and then she walked away. I understand you just had an opening but I was really surprised by her behavior. What I was more surprised at was when I wanted to inform the manager about the negative and rude behavior I saw from one of their employees, I come to find out that it was a manager who had said the rude comment. Today I came in and brought a friend since I had told her about the savings I got from your store and I was in disbelief again today. The same manager who I saw speaking to an associate rudely the day before was barking at two other workers. I'm sorry to use the word barking but that's exactly what I saw today. When I was leaving today I asked one of the workers what that specific manager's name was and she told me her name was Marian/Miriam. Not sure what the hiring process is for this company but I'm pretty sure that there is a better way to speak to your employees, especially in front of new customers that you are trying to get as returning customers. I'd rather go to my local Whole Foods (which is down the street) and pay more for my grocery than to shop in a store where I feel uncomfortable watching a manager insult their workers instead of leading them in a positive way. read more

It's ridiculous that the Aldi's management refuses to provide Instacart pickups at the Orchard store. Twice, they have accepted my orders, then reschedule, and once said they didn't have enough workers to take the order out to my car! I didn't have my walker, I waited 45 minutes, no one came out to see if I was still there. The second time, once they rescheduled the second time, I cancelled the order! My time wasted! 2 stars because it's clean and tidy, today first time go there, inconvenient to use their shopping cart as you need to insert a quarter to use it. Asked a female staff whether the American girl advent calendar available or not (advertised yesterday), she said sold out yesterday, I asked would it be restocked, she said no with a straight face. Not many organic products, price wise and product selection not competitive as Ralph's, Sprouts, it's a joke that Aldi compare themselves to Whole Foods. I put the products in my reusable bag and checkout, the male cashier (who just swept the floor) put my paid products in a shopping cart, as this is my first visit, also just a habit I pushed the shopping cart and leaving, this cashier said return my cart without a smile. I love shopping at Aldi! This one is usually well-stocked for me but can sometimes be disheveled in the hot buys aisle. Prices are great! My only complaint is usually the lines can get quite long before they call in another cashier. I have yet to find a market where I can procure all my items on my list. But ALDI has a few things I need. You never know what you will find here. Truly. It's like a treasure hunt each time you go in. Some things sell out super fast. Their knives are amazing! You can make rice krispy treats for under $3 and you would not know the difference not using the name brands. The Lacura skin care products are fabulous!!! You can always get a dozen eggs for under two bucks! You can find name brand items for a great price. They have plants. I love the gardenia plant I bought and can not wait for it to bloom. The bratwurst are absolutely amazing. Truly delicious. They taste like fresh ones from the Midwest. They have popcorn powders that are soooo good. Popcornopolis better watch out! Great quality food finds at lower prices. Store is clean and well organized. Parking plentiful and easy. I had to return some unopened wine bottles after I had a bit of one bottle that did not sit well with my stomach and the manager was very polite and immediately directed me to the cashier for a full refund. I will definitely be coming here a lot more often. read more
