From all over the world!

WOW! What an absolutely incredible experience. Sully, who worked the counter, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Not only were they well-versed in allergies and more than accommodating to us but they didn't hesitate to answer our questions. Lori was such a wonderful person to talk with and truly made the experience so special. The in-house shakes and smoothies were insanely delicious and fresh, made my Monce who also came and spoke with us near the end. There's so much variety in fruits, nuts, preserves, sauces, candies, and more! You can sample just about everything in the depot as well. I can just tell the environment and atmosphere is so unique to this place. This has quickly become our go-to spot anytime we are taking Highway 58! Please go give them your time and business-it's so worth it!

I feel this is a place that you put on your list to MUST STOP when travelling to Bakersfield. Located in the citrus groves on the outskirts of town this place has a ton of refreshing beverages that while tantalize your palette after a long road trip. Offering fresh fruit smoothies, shakes and lemonades of all flavors and made to order. It doesn't get much more fresh than this, because in the back of the store they are boxing up fresh lemons, oranges and limes less than 20 ft away from the juice press. I tried to Orange Creamsicle shake which was fantastic. We also had the Strawberry Banana Smoothie and traditional Lemonade. All were exactly what we expected and the entire car ride everyone was happy and refreshed. The store is loaded with fresh snacks for you to purchase, including several flavors of pistachios and almonds, fresh gummy candies and local citrus honey. These make perfect gives for friends and family for when you return home from your vacation. We are so glad we stopped, the staff was so friendly, even offering to let us take a few lemons from the box on the counter as a parting gift. 10/10 Recommend Enjoy!!!

They even have milkshakes and smoothies

So happy we saw the signs for California Fruit Depot while on our road trip, which is conveniently located near Hwy 58. This family owned business has excellent fresh fruit, dried fruits and nuts, candy, honey, and seasonal fruit smoothies. The store is clean and they have free samples of their products. We were immediately greeted by friendly staff who were knowledgable and provided helpful recommendations. We bought flavored almonds, unsalted pistachios, bbq spice rub, Zahedi dates, and fresh oranges for the road and for gifts. You must stop by if in the area!

An amazing stop that we happened to come across on our journeys. Well marked, this location is a must stop even if you're only going to pick up a few items to have snacks in the car! Super fresh fruit, fantastic pricing, and assistance with shipping if you want to make a gift of it. They must stop to see where your fresh fruit comes from in California! Many items are available, such as nuts, dried fruits, etc. that are great quality and pricing. Family run operation with super helpful folks in the shop. A fun place to look around, you'll get lost in their shop!

Amazing assortment of produce and so very delicious. Lots of sampling opportunities resulting in purchases . I got so many tasty unique gifts for relatives. I especially like the orange rind , watermelon candies and roasted almonds. This was a great place to visit! Loved looking at the orange trees and getting some for the family too.

I love oranges from California Fruit Depot! The quality of oranges or anything at California Fruit Depot is incredibly supreme! You must stop to get the oranges. And dates! The service is the best. The salespersons are very knowledgeable about all products in the store and super helpful and friendly. The ambiance is happy and pleasant. This is a must stop destination! Come to support the farmer community!

Absolutely a favorite spot to stop and stock up on fresh fruit and nuts! The customer service is top-notch--friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to help. They offer free samples of all their products, which makes browsing a delight, and they have the best assortment I've seen anywhere. From chocolate-covered nuts, pretzels, and ginger to a huge variety of dried fruits and fresh fruit, there's something for everyone. If you're in the area, this is a must-visit! They go above and beyond--if the item you want isn't on the shelf, they'll custom-make it for you if it's in their inventory. We wanted specific nuts that weren't displayed, and the staff member was happy to put together a couple of bags just for us. Highly recommend--fresh, delicious, and outstanding service every time!

Cool humans!!

I have been coming to California Fruit Depot for a couple of decades. A small, family owned packing house focusing on quality and customer service. Fresh, local citrus, juices, Central Valley native fruits, tree nuts of virtually every variety, and chocolate covered everything!! Plus, the coolest humans work here and truly make it what it is. Come by and say Hi to Sully and Lori.

I wrote this review before going back to Bakersfieldl and finding Anxious Anxious Acres CLOSED and…read moreall the citrus trees gone. I wish I knew what happened here, but suspect the worst. I have always considered Dick Minetti to be one of my best friends but only got to talk with him on occasions when I was in Bakersfield and could run up to the ranch. Dick grew the finest citrus in Kern County, surpassed only by my citrus in Tulare County. He is one of the finest human beings who will help you with just about anything you are looking for in citrus. He is careful about his growing practices and keeps incredibly clean and tidy orchards where you feel like you could eat off of the ground around the trees. You must visit this citrus ranch, as it is a singular remnant from the past that represents the old world of citrus culture. I cannot stress enough how fantastic Dick's packing shed is. If you are looking for modern ultra-electronic handling of fruit, don't waste your time. Minetti's place is one of a kind; where you will always go away from content. You will likely never ever see another one like it. His quality is superb; his customer service phenominal; his wit unsurpassed. I implored you to go to the ranch for citrus but now, after more than a half century of goodness, it's gone, only the sign and buildings remain. One of the great parts of contemporary Kern County history is now gone.

I miss Minetti's Citrus Ranch. It was traditional to go to Anxious Acres to buy a box of mixed…read morecitrus for our family and a box to send to Idaho to our extended family. The children loved how Dick and his wife would give them a small grocery bag and tell them to go fill their bags up with whatever loose citrus and nuts that they could fit into their bags. Once I forgot my handbag; I couldn't believe it, but Dick told me, "Don't worry I trust you. I know that you will pay me. Just mail me a check when you have time. Don't you worry about rushing back here with the children. I know how busy you mothers are." and he laughed. Of course as soon as my husband came home from work and I told him what happened, he drove over to pay Dick. But who does that? No one these days! The Minetti's were one of a kind! The Best!
