I was looking for a breakfast café to visit in the area while waiting for my lash appointment, and luckily I found this great Latin breakfast nook that was literally within walking distance. Let me tell you they did not disappoint! I decided to order the chilaquiles, and they have so many options to choose from, which I loved. My plate came with potatoes, a fresh spring mix salad, and an empanada (again, lots of delicious options). Everything was amazing and full of flavor! I also tried their iced mocha, and it was so chocolatey and delicious. The owner and staff were super friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. We arrived at 11am during the week and it was very busy. By time we received our food the inside and outside were both close to full. Crepissima has been here for 7 years and I am so happy to see them busy. They are known for their empanadas and crepes (savory & sweet), however they have such a large menu filled with breakfast items such as omeletts, pancakes, chilaquiles, benedicts and of course crepes gallore. Then they have an extensive lunch menu as well. We ordered the pancakes for the first time. It was a large stack of thick and fluffy pancakes with fruit. We also ordered the Chilaquiles Maya & Empanada Combo served with a salad and I chose to have beans instead of potatoes and a peach empanada. The salsa maya sauce is delicious. The portions are generous and the flavoring is kicked up several notches (nod to Emeril Lagasse), so you don't want to miss even one bite. Wow, fully blown away by this place. I think what is most impressive to me is just how many items are on the menu for this tiny kitchen. What really stood out about the huevos rancheros is that the tortilla on the bottom is homemade by the owner's mother and made by hand... you can absolutely taste the difference. From the staff that takes our order to the staff that delivered our food everyone is super kind and attentive. They stopped by a few times to refill our waters, cafe de olla which is beyond appreciated. Food is delicious from the dessert crepes, chilaquiles, sweet empanadas they all taste homemade and fresh. I tried the chilaquiles and they offer a few different choices for the chile ranging from mild to spicy. The guava empanada was warm and filled plenty with guava. And waiters were walking in and out serving people sitting but none friendly or observant to notice my boyfriend and I had no clue what we were doing. So we just sat at a table. No one comes to you. And no one tells you this. I guess you're suppose to just figure it out. So I stood in the line. It's kind of small and when you're in line as soon as you get close to inside the door there is a table. It was too crowded the poor people sitting there had every person in the line essentially all in their face and plates as they came in. At the register, there's no greetings it's pretty much wtf you want? That's the essence on the attitude. You're not asked if you've been before, nothing it was just hurry up. We'd never been and the menu is pretty big. For a place that's suppose to be about the Empanadas and Crepes they do fancy coffees, and really American breakfast and lunch. It would have been nice had a staff person well versed in the menu and food advise the best dewy to get a little of everything for a good price. Otherwise you'd spend all day reading through their menu and trying to figure it out. And I did spend quite a bit of time. We had empanadas- these were really good 9/10 Crepes for the first time- 6.5/10 As well as breakfast - Their sausage is good. The pancakes they have are CAKE so please take heed. Bigger guys, trust me, you won't walk away hungry. I also grabbed a Chicken Caesar Salad late at night because I was trying to manage my calories, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was.
