I had the Otoro Blue Fin Tuna Deluxe Seafood Bowl, sooooooo fresh and yummy! The portion of the sashimi is bigger than the sushi rice, in my opinion! My friend ordered the Deluxe Seafood Bowl, also tasted very very good. We didn't get to try their signature dish Sho Ka Do Benton because it was sold out, will definitely come back for that. Also tried their dessert Almond Tofu, it also tastes very good, but my most favorite Almond Tofu still goes to a Japanese restaurant in San Mateo, CA. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in Vancouver. read more

Uni, wagyu, snow crab, aburi, and bento, are the key words for this place IMHO. They are so good, and not expensive at all! We walked in successfully on a Saturday night at close to 6pm. We got the blue fin otoro aburi sushi. It came with 8 pcs with 4 kinds of toppings. I must give it a big thumb's up! The fish was very fresh and I love the sauces on the sushi. We also had the snow crab uni cream udon. The bowl was ridiculously large compared to the portion of the food.... The creamy soup with uni melted in it was really good! I didn't really like the uni egg custard that much. I think they put too much soy sauce in it so it's too salty for me. read more

This place is upstairs along W. 4th so if you're driving by, you may not see it, other than a sidewalk sign and some white drapes in front of the door. The entrance is close to a seafood store. The prices are a bit more than your typical Japanese restaurant so expect to spend at least $25 or more per person. Some of the portions are small, like the udon bowls. If you are a light eater, then it may be okay but if you're like me, then I was a bit hungry. Although we ordered a lot of dishes, sharing with 5 people, the portions were smaller but at least we got to try different dishes. If you want to get the bento box, I recommend pre-ordering it, as long as you have reservations as there is a limited number of bento boxes for lunch and dinner. My friends and I had ordered 2, well a friend ordered one for himself and we shared the other one. We had 8 people total but only 5 of us shared it. It isn't really meant for sharing for a big group, maybe between 2 people. The Sho Ka Do Bento was good as it a mixture of fresh mini bowls of seafood, meat and veggies. The Hell Chicken Karaage was okay. I'm used to spicy food so it wasn't too hot but for my friends, it was spicy. The flavor was more of a "Frank's Red Hot sauce" so it was underwhelming. The chicken was juicy and the a bit crispy. The Seafood Donabe Takikomi was pretty good. It is sea urchin and snow crab in a stone pot. The server asked if we wanted her to mix it for us so we let her. After, I did try to push the rice against the pot to try to crisp up the rice. The sea urchin didn't overpower the other flavors, the rice was just right ( not soggy and not al dente ). The Milky Silky Mentaiko Udon was delicious. It was full of flavor: sweet, smooth, the mascapone cheese complimented the other flavors and well balanced. The Snow Crab and Uni Cream Udon was good too, not as good as the other udon. I found that the flavors were good but just a bit unbalanced. The cream was light and the udon was cooked perfectly. We were a bit disappointed with the Yuzu wings as you don't really taste any yuzu. It was a bit bland and if you added any lemon juice, it'll just taste like lemon. Uji Matcha cake was okay, a bit dry and had a hit of matcha. Souffle cheesecake was light and fluffy. The texture was between a japanese style cheesecake and a NY cheesecake. If you've had a japanese style cheesecake, it is really light anf airy, kind of melts in your mouth. Grapefruit creme brulee had small chunks of grapefruit on the bottom. I didn't eat any of it as my friend really like it so left it for them to eat. Plus with so much food and desserts, I didn't feel like having more dessert. =) The service was excellent. Our server was attentive, super friendly, helped us take photos and was around when we needed something like tea refill, extra chopsticks to help divide the dishes, etc. Since it was one of my friend's birthday, the servers came around and sung Happy Birthday to her. Then the server took a polaroid of our group for us to keep. ** read more

Overall was a little disappointed because of all the amazing reviews of Raisu. Uni cream udon was our favorite dish. Pretty sure the uni was blended into the soup and the uni wasn't too fishy. Once mixed, I couldn't really taste any of the crab, but overall flavor was on point. Also wish the udon was hotter. I did not enjoy the arugula in the steak bowl. (There was also arugula in the udon which I could've done without). Steak was the slightest bit chewy and the sauce was not the best. I did not try the soup to mix in with the rice. Unagi bowl was delish no complaints. Deluxe seafood bowl was also amazing, everything was fresh. Aburi sushi the day we went was all toro. I personally love seared fish, but I could not really taste what the different toppings/sauces were on each piece. That made every piece taste the same so it got old. Would say it's worth the try. Definitely get one of their udons to try. read more

Been a while since we've had such a nice meal. Located on the 2nd floor, their entrance can be hard to find as the door is hidden behind hanging fabric dividers (noren). Behind the door were stairs to the restaurant. Luckily we didn't bring the stroller for our baby or else we'd be lugging it up those stairs (maybe they have an elevator but I didn't look around for one). We were seated in the covered patio at a tatami where we had to take off our shoes and climb in. Our feet were kept warm under the heated tatami and was so comfortable on that cold, rainy day. We got the last Sho Ka Do set ($29) which came with unlimited miso and rice. All 9 mini-dishes had their own intricate flavors and gave a good variety of taste and textures. Too bad the dishes were small so you only get a few bites of their yumminess! But after eating all of them with the rice and miso, it's actually quite filling. Even their miso had a lot of flavor and lots of tofu/bean curd/seaweed. They use seasonal ingredients so the dishes can change each time. We'd get this again. The AAA Beef Hitsumabushi ($22) is a stone bowl rice dish with soup to pour into the rice. The menu says it came with garlic butter rice but I couldn't taste any garlic butter. Too bad since it sounded good! The dish was still good but now I'm left wondering if it could've been better. We finished with the Grapefruit Creme Brulee. With chunks of grapefruit to give a nice tartness to the smooth, sweet custard, this dish was a great finish and we'd also order this again. Service was great until the end when they were winding down the lunch service and another waitress served us. She was difficult to wave down and didn't understand that we wanted to order dessert until she finally got us a menu again so I could point out which dessert we wanted, so that area could use improvement. Overall a 4.5* experience. read more

Raisu is like a guaranteed satisfaction. We come here every so often. Service, ingredients, flavour, just everything is top notch and worth every penny. Came here for lunch patio (must book reservations!) for the first time in 2 years and Raisu did not disappoint. LOVED the omakase aburi - aburis are must here. Saba teishoku was surprisingly large and cooked to perfection. No fishy smell and the saba was bigger than my hand lol. Lobster cream udon was not the best, should've ordered the curry udon instead! We always get it and it's SO GOOD. Cutlets are amazing here too, just didn't get them this time. Parking is kind of tricky during weekends, if you're lucky you'll be able to find a 2hr free parking in residential streets. read more

What a great birthday celebration! First time at Raisu and the experience was wonderful. At the time, they had aburi pressed sushi. So delicious! We were lucky enough to get the sho ka do bento which they only have limited quantities available. Such a great birthday treat! I believe we also had the mixed cutlet teishoku (not pictured). Definitely more than enough food for 2 of us! The best part I have to say was when the staff sang happy birthday to me! It was so sweet, they took a Polaroid of us and gave an amazing dessert! Can't wait to go back! It's definitely my favourite out of all the izakaya sister restaurants! read more

ordered items: seafood bara chirashi, deep fried jumbo scallops, omakase aburi sushi we somehow got 3 scallops instead of 2, and paired with the lemon and sauce it was such a delicious combination of flavours: salty, sweet, umami, savoury - having a dark sauce made the scallops even more sweet if needed. the aburi sushi was very fresh, and a generous portion of the various amounts of seafood. the bara chirashi was a tasty combination of seafood cubes, and everything was overall great. the setting of the restaurant was very hip/modern and lighting in the restaurant was A1. service was a little bit slow especially because we had a group of 12 (gratuity included) read more

Really enjoyed our pre-Christmas dinner at Raisu. Presentation is great and the flavors were good for most of the dishes we ordered. Here's the breakdown: Wagyu Shabu Shabu Udon (3/5): For this dish, the wagyu is raw when they bring it to your table. The server then pours broth all over the meat and udon, "cooking" it at your table, hence the 'shabu shabu' in the name. Udon noodles were perfectly cooked, but the broth tasted mostly like msg and there were only four thin pieces of wagyu in a bowl that was wayy too big for our table. Not terrible, but I'd skip! Sho Ka Do bento (4/5): Only 15 servings of this per night so we knew we had to order this. The bento box comes with chef's choice of 9 different small dishes. I was able to share this with my boyfriend so we both got a taste of each item. My favorite was the yuzu chicken wings and the crab and ikura over egg. Deluxe Seafood Bowl (5/5): First off, the presentation of this is gorgeous and it's what drew me to Raisu in the first place. The fish is fresh and you get two pieces each, which makes it perfect for sharing. It even comes with gold flakes on the top! For around $36, it's a DEAL. Get this! Grilled Squid with Mentai Mayo (4/5): Your typical grilled squid dish but the mentai mayo is delicious!! It goes perfectly together. I would recommend this if you like grilled squid. Aburi Omakase (5/5): Can't remember the name of this dish but it was 8 pieces of sushi, aburi style, with pressed rice. Super flavorful and being from SF, we don't have aburi style sushi here so this was super unique to me and we loved this! Foie Gras and Truffle Egg Custard (5/5!!!): This is literally everything I love in one cup. Foie gras. Truffle. Egg. Uni. Ikura. Talk about a flavor explosion! This was probably my favorite hot dish of the night - such a delicacy! I was super stuffed after my meal here and my tummy was satisfied, which is all that matters. I'm happy we were able to make a last minute same-day reservation. The only reason that I docked off one star was because the host and server repeated the fact that we only had 2 hours to eat because the next reservation was coming in at 7pm (Our reservation was at 5pm). It kind of put a damper on our meal especially towards the end when the server asked if wanted to order dessert soon "because the next reservation is coming in 30 minutes". Although we were pretty much finished with our meal, I don't really enjoy the fact that they were 'reminding' us that our time is almost up. Not sure if they do this with everyone or just because we called the same day a little bit before the restaurant opened. Either way, if you decide to visit Raisu, be sure to make a reservation in advance! read more

Not bad but I really noticed the drop in quality from this entire restaurant group over the past few years. Just be warned that Raisu does not have a refined feel, it's very upbeat, fast paced and it feels like you're sitting in the kitchen. Some people may love this vibe so it's just preference. There are a ton of workers and constant shouting going on, so you really miss the service aspect of dining here. There is no single server to take you through your experience. Food wise, miso katsu was decent. Meat itself was good, sauce was quite salty to the point where you need to wash it down. The random veggies were undercooked and did not seem thoughtfully integrated with the dish. Unfortunately the miso soup was not hot. Also, prawn cakes are not deep fried but rather a big fluffy light fish cake. Maybe they should clarify on the menu because to an English speaker, it sounds deep fried. The Ocean offering special for their anniversary was pretty good but hard to picture based on the description. It's basically a patchwork/quilt of square nigiri. read more

Best sushi I've ever had. We got the sho ka do bento, omakase aburi, sashimi platter, and takowasabi. It was all presented perfectly and was SO GOOD. The two of us were absolutely stuffed from all the food. The waiter was really kind as well. We had a couple questions about the fish so he went back and forth to ask the chef for us. He also explained the items on the bento and checked in multiple times. This place seems like a great place to celebrate. The table beside us was celebrating a birthday so they brought out a complimentary dessert, sang, and took a Polaroid for them. Vibes are immaculate here. read more

I made a day trip to Vancouver and knew I had to come here. I've had it on my list for a year at least but never had the chance to go. The space itself is gorgeous, with an open-setting bar in the center and tables surrounding it, plus the extended "outside" seating that is covered all around and heated. They also had larger tables with tatami mats where you would remove your shoes and get to enjoy your meal in comfort. Overall, the vibe is super comfortable, friendly, and relaxing. I had ordered the sho ka do bento (must order at least 24 hours ahead of time with limited quantity), the omakase aburi sushi, fried jumbo scallops with crab, yuzu cream cheese with garlic bread, and wagyu croquettes. Everything was pretty much perfect. I will say that the bento wasn't my favorite, but only because I'm a bit particular with things I like and the bento just didn't have all of my favorites, although it had a lot of really yummy things. So I won't remove a point for something that is a personal opinion. The omakase sushi was perfection. Wonderfully seared sushi with an array of toppings. It was warm and really fresh. Both the croquette and fried scallops weren't too oily and were absolutely huge. We got a lot of meat on them than we expected so we were pleasantly surprised. Out of all of this though, and most surprisingly, my favorite dish was the yuzu cream cheese with bread. I'm not sure why, but just something about the creamy-ness of the spread and the subtle flavor that is yuzu, while also being striking really stood out to me. I ended up ordering another serving to go because I liked it so much. Overall a very wonderful meal and worth it if you're in Vancouver! read more

First yelp review dedicated to my favourite restaurant in Vancouver. I cannot recommend this place enough, and it's always my first pick for when someone is visiting Vancouver and wants to ~see what all the hype is about~ for Vancouver seafood. The staff is so kind and enthusiastic, and the menu is really extensive - you can find all kinds of dishes, raw and cooked. Honestly I have not tried a dish there that I did not like. Really highly recommend to uni shooters. Note: MAKE A RESERVATION before you go unless you want to wait hours. We also got the aburi sushi, and otoro deluxe seafood bowl to share between my boyfriend and I. We were amazed by the quality of the otoro bluefin tuna. It's the stomach of tuna and the pieces just melts in your mouth. It was heavenly. Every dish in the bento box was amazing as well, and presentation was very on point. It is on the pricer side, but mainly because of the bowl. I do wish that the bento box had came with the name and description of each item, so we know what we are eating. read more

The best and freshest uni and otoro ever! It was creamy and thick. We got the set for 2 for $138. The only turn off was the waitress. It was not to busy but she was rude and we had to ask for water 3 times and she still "forgot" about us. In the end another waitress brought us the water. She didn't bother explaining how to eat one of the dishes which came with a fish broth. However she did explain it for the table beside us. Not sure why she was so rude but everyone else was very nice and the sashimi was amazing! Great value! read more

This was my favorite place to eat in Vancouver. The food and service were above and beyond all the other restaurants. Finally, an authentic Japanese restaurant in America! What I LOVE about Raisu is the kotatsu seating. I didn't get to sit there because I was solo, but I love that they have them. Make reservations to sit there! I got the Sho Ka Do Bento set. It has unlimited refills on rice and miso soup, but I didn't need it because there was plenty of food. It was 9 different small dishes which changes seasonally. Every dish was delicious. Fresh fish and ingredients. My favorite was the hambagu meatball with foie gras and the creamy salmon with ikura. The miso soup was especially good, just like how grandma makes it. The seasonal raspberry shortcake was also good. As with Japanese desserts, it was rich and not too sweet. The cake was big though, great for sharing. The service here was exceptional. The staff was very attentive and friendly. I love how they shout out the orders when they come in. And they greet you out when you leave. Just like how they do it in Japan. I will definitely be back if I'm ever in Vancouver again because there were many items on the menu I would like to try. read more

I think I have found my favourite Japanese restaurant in Vancouver! I ordered for delivery and it really exceeded my expectations. I got the Family Size deluxe Seafood Bowl and 2 pcs wagyu and foie gras aburi nigiri. Both items arrived perfectly. I was blown away by how beautiful the deluxe seafood bowl looked. Spent a solid minute just admiring it like it's art lol. It's recommended for 4-6 people but I think it can feed more like 6-8. So at $88 it's a really good price! The restaurant should take pride in being called raisu, you can expect top notch rice. One of the best I have had. The rice is a lot though, and heavy. The seafood was so fresh. I don't know what they marinated their ikura with but I could not get enough of it. The uni had a really strong taste, I suspect maybe not as fresh. I've never been a huge fan of uni anyway. The spot prawns were extremely fresh too. Even the little things like tamago was so good. There were some fresh scallops in there too. Lots of flavours, you will not be disappointed. One of the best things I've ever eaten! The wagyu and foie gras nigiri blew my mind too. A large piece of beef was given for both pieces and it was full of flavour. So delicious and flavourful that I couldn't taste the foie gras. Should have eaten it separately! 100% recommend, get this!! read more

Unquestionably 5 stars for taste/quality and service, only docking a star because of portion sizes, and even then I'm a little reluctant because it was so so good. I got the snow crab & uni udon and a slice of Japanese cheesecake. The udon was served in a rich and tasty broth that I could have eaten all on its own. The only toppings besides the crab and uni were arugula and seaweed flakes, but I thought this was tasteful as it complimented the crab really well and prevented the dish from being too busy. The uni also had a very mild, fresh flavour. The size of the udon itself was okay, but I would have liked a little more crab to be in proportion to everything else. The japanese cheesecake was also good and had a nice tangy cheesecake flavour while still nice and light. They served it with a raspberry sauce and some fresh fruit. The sauce complimented the cheesecake nicely, the fruit overpowered it easily, but I still like that they give you the fruit since it made a nice little "side dish" for the cheesecake. This was so tiny though, I could have easily eaten two slices, and it cost $8, so that's a bit expensive for me. I ordered takeout and was able to pick up my order smoothly at exactly the promised time. The staff was very polite. The inside of the restaurant is also very classy and the tables are quite spaced out, and it looks like they're doing a good job of keeping things sanitized. I would recommend giving them a try! read more

Raisu - Snow Crab and Uni Cream Udon (7/10) It was good and worth a try for sure! I would like to try their other dishes first! the bowl is always deviously big. The sauce tastes like crab and sea urchin flavoured cream. The leaves are a little bitter but go well with the broth. The salmon caviar just reminds me of fish eggs and are juicy and full of flavour! The udon is nice and firm - clearly homemade. The service was nice and we got water a lot. Would recommend having a reservation read more

Recently came here during my vacation after receiving a few recommendations and it was my favorite meal of the whole trip! The fish was fresh, the menu items all sounded so good, the food tasted yummy and the place was so cute. However, our experience was a bit off and it didn't make my entire experience a 5 star experience. Experience: had a reservation at 8:30pm on a Saturday. We were seated right away but we weren't provided a drink menu and didn't realize it until after our waitress took our order. It took a while for them to take our order because the restaurant was busy so that's understandable but then we were told that it's last call and we cannot order drinks anymore and cannot order anymore food beyond this time. We were so bummed because we really wanted to try their drinks and the drinks looked so cute at the other tables near us. We didn't know the restaurant closed at 9pm since there was still a wait after we were seated. Oh well, that's understandable. We ordered a spot prawn sashimi dish and saw on Yelp it's supposed to come with a fried head or something with the head so we asked the waitress about it and she told us we were supposed to tell her before last call but how were we supposed to know that we had to tell them about something that's supposed to come with our dish when it's our first time there? Ok, might have been a language barrier there. We also ordered the aburi omakase set and asked the waitress what types of fish does the chef usually choose since we cannot eat fishy items like saba and she said salmon, tuna, or hamachi so we ordered 2 orders total. In the end it came as saba.. 2 orders = 16 pieces. Food: - Yuzu Chicken Wings 7pc: this was pretty good and tasty but only had a slight yuzu flavor - Spot prawn sashimi came with 5 pcs and it was yummy and fresh - Uni Temaki Sushi: it was like a handroll to roll ourselves and it was so yummy!! I'm a newbie at rolling handrolls so we rolled it straight and not like a cone shape so it kept coming out but it was still delicious - Otoro deluxe seafood bowl: so good and the otoro was so fresh! Came with about 10 pcs of otoro sashimi, 2pc each of everything else on top of yummy sushi rice - highly recommend this - Uni shooters: so good. Use the spoon to get everything in the cup in your mouth in one swoop! Not meant for you to use your spoon to scoop it out little by little. - Kobe wagyu and uni aburi nigiri: I didn't really taste the aburi part of the sushi but this was still good - like your typical nigiri but the beef slice was a little thinner than I'm used to from SF restaurants - Omakase aburi sushi: came with 8pcs per order and ours happened to be with saba. 2pcs of 4 different toppings but with the same fish. Overall, I'd still recommend this place to anyone who asks me for a Vancouver recommendation cause hopefully we just had a weird experience with our server. read more

This place is pretty good. They serve Hapa/ Tapa style. So this is what we ordered for dinner: 1) Tuna Tartare 2) Aburi Sushi 3) Chicken Karange 4) Steak Overall, food was pretty good. Raisu is a sister restaurant of Suika. The tuna tartare was my favorite. The chicken karange was moist inside. steak was ok. We were given a rock to cook on it. However, the steak was good by itself. So no need to cook it on a rock unless you like overcooked steak. Also the steak wasn't tender enough. The aburi sushi was very interesting. It was made differently than other restaurants. Overall, I would come back for the food. Service was ok. The waitress forgot to fill our cups with water when we asked her. But it was ok. We sat very close to where the waitress left the water jars so we poured it ourself. The ambiance was very nice. It looked a lot like Suika but brighter. Probably because this restaurant gets a lot of sunlight being on the second floor. Also note that when it is easy to miss this restaurant because there are no big sign with the restaurant name. This was the best meal we had in Vancouver and the last place we went to during our tips. Please make a reservation as this place does get busy and don't forget to look up when finding the entrance as Raisu is located on the second floor. The server thanked us for being on time (i guess most people who have reservations are late lol). Here is what we ordered and how I rank them. 1. Deluxe Seafood Bowl $38 - everything from the presentation, to the quality and the variety of fresh sashimi they provided was amazing. I loved every last bit of this dish and was super sad when it was all gone. Stand out items were the Japanese Uni, Scallop, Tuna and the Sokeye Salmon. 2. Omakase Sushi Aburi $22 - loved this dish as well. I'm not sure what was in the aburi but every piece was delicious. This dish is on the smaller side and the pieces were presented in squares as opposed to the typical rectangle nigiri pieces. The flavours blended together really well, and it reminded me of fusion but delicious sushi. 3. Yuzu Chicken Wings $14 - I loved the light yuzu flavour coupled with the crisp grilled wings. The wings were very plump and delicious. The yuzu flavour is on the lighter side and not too overpowering. 4. Corn Karaage $14 - I wasn't sure what to expect when ordering this dish but glad we did. It reminded me of the roasted brussel sprouts with the balsamic glaze that you can get at many restaurants but this is with corn. The dish also included some brussel sprouts as well. A nice twist on a western dish. While the prices at this place are higher than most, it is def. worth it and I highly recommend. Its a super cute date night spot, with great service, vibes and energy. read more

The Food As the Vancouver Japanese food adventure continues, we're hitting up Raisu for dinner. We ordered a variety of dishes to share. - Deluxe Seafood Bowl - Sashimi Platter - Snow Crab and Uni Cream Udon - Sizzling Stone Beef Steak Hitsumabushi - Chicken Karaage - Agedashi Tofu with Mushroom Sauce The Deluxe Seafood Bowl looked very good and the sashimi were very fresh. Snow Crab and Uni Cream Udon came in a giant bowl, but the actual food took up like 20% of the space. The dish was good though, with a creamy broth. The Sizzling Stone Beef Steak Hitsumabushi had good flavor with the beef, herb and spices. Chicken Karaage and Agedashi Tofu were nice side addon to the meal. On a sad note, they have special bentos with limited quantity daily we didn't get to try, need to reserve ahead. The Miscellaneous Raisu has a decent sized space, with a main dining area, a bar, and a indoor patio with kotatsu. Though even with the ample amount of seating, the place can still get packed during peak hours. The service was normal, this was also the same with the staffs, nothing out of the ordinary. They have quite the menu, or menus. It was a variety of food choices, but spread across different menus. The food was good, though the prices were a bit high, it was still worth the visit for the unique experience. read more

I have been here twice so far and each time has been an enjoyable experience. Since it is a slightly higher price point than its sister restaurants, Suika/Kingyo etc., I usually share two plates comfortably between three people. The snow crab and uni cream udon is a constant favourite of mine and it is well worth the price for the quality ingredients. The Chirashi is great for special occasions and always an instagrammable standout. And the Bibimbap is very flavourful without overpowering the rest of the dish with the spices. Raisu is located on west 4th and Vine St. It's a group of Kingyo, Sukia, and Rajio Japanese tapas restaurant. I came here few times with friend for dinner. Glad they hv extensive menu and we got different dishes for each visit. Barley fed pork chop cutlet - Crispy outside and soft inside, deep fried perfectly! Wagyu beef udon - they poured the hot soup in front of you and served perfect poached beef udon. Sashimi salad - it's good but not great. The salad a bit light and sour. Aburi wagyu beef pressed sushi - the pressed sushi a bit below average and the size of sushi just a bit too big coz not in bit size. Uni and snow crab clay pot rice - it's delicious, creamy Uni and taste good of snow crab meat Omakase aburi sushi - it presented nicely but a bit too much dressing. Friendly staffs and causal atmosphere, dining room just a bit loud. Would try to come back on weekdays instead of weekends read more

Raisu is definitely THE spot for classy Japanese food and good vibes while in Vancouver. The location is good as well - located near Kitsilano, with lots of free parking around. I went around 6pm so it wasn't too busy yet. As it got to 6:30-7, it started getting packed; do make reservations!! There is nice balcony seating but you'll have to get there early and ask for it, or make reservations. Deluxe Seafood Bowl (4.5/5): my boyfriend loooved this. The sashimi was fresh and soft, and there was a lot of variety. It was worth the money, as there is a lot of fish + rice underneath the fish. Sho Ka Do Bento (4.5/5): this is LIMITED and first come first serve. Since we got there early, we managed to get it. It has 9 assorted dishes (and I believe these dishes vary by day), and the presentation was nice. It's a bit pricey but we were so glad to get a taste of everything all in one. Highly recommended if it's available! The food did take a WHILE to come though, and probably would take longer once the venue fills up. Overall I was happy to have come here for the first time and would recommend Raisu for first time visitors to Vancouver!! read more
