This is a cool experience for little kids and possibly even teenagers. You should definitely go once ! There's a gift shop as you enter so you can look around while you're waiting for your table to be ready. A huge animatronic crocodile greets You at the entrance opening its mouth and moving its tail. Once you enter the dining area you'll see the light sky twinkling on the ceiling and jungle animals in full animation. Food is pricey and pretty average . If I could give this place 1 star, I would. The restaurant wasn't even half full, and we waited 15 minutes for a table. We weren't too worried about it. No big deal. We were seated and then weren't greeted for probably 15 minutes. We asked a nearby employee who our server was. They didn't know. They found the manager. The manager didn't apologize or seem to care that we had been straight up ignored for 20 minutes at this point. We ordered with the manager. 10 minutes later our server comes over and says he'll be taking it from there. Still no apology. Our food was brought out after a while by a different employee. Hadn't seen our server at all since then. I asked the other employee for another drink. Waited for a while and still didn't see our server. We completely finished our food, and still no server. I told the other guy to forget about my drink, because at this point we just wanted the check and wanted to leave. Finally we found our server and asked for the check. He didn't come back again for a long time. I asked the manager to run our card after waiting and waiting for our server. Still no apology for our disaster of an experience. I don't consider Rainforest Cafe to be a fine dining establishment, but I could literally get better service at Applebee's. If you want to avoid the crowds, try visiting this place on a weekday when it is not packed. My family and I came on a Wednesday afternoon and we were just a handful of diners here. Kids will definitely love this place - my two young boys did, especially the fish in the tanks, animated elephants, monkeys, and tigers. The service was good. Our waitress Jasmine was top notch and helped us through the menu, recommending popular items and drinks. If you like sweet alcoholic drinks, definitely try the $8 Mongoose Mai Tai, it was made just right. The food was o.k., nothing too fancy. We tried the Taste of The Islands - made of Caribbean Coconut Shrimp, dynamite scallops and shrimp,blackened tilapia topped with mango salsa, choice of a side (Fries). The kids liked the kids menu grilled chicken and Gorilla grilled cheese delight. We didn't have enough room for dessert, but we kept hearing that the sparkling Volcano dessert is good. We'll try it next time. On a side note, wife and I were wondering how on earth they dust all the fake foliage all around the ceiling and on the sides...I asked the waitress and she had no idea! Everything mediocre. Kids had pizza. It seemed previously frozen like a square totinos (think school pizza) and a little fruit. We were looking forward to bringing our daughter to eat here on a Friday night. The hostess took my name down and told me it would be 1 hour and 50 min wait! I looked around the restaurant and noticed that it was half empty.... Thinking maybe they were short staffed or had big parties coming in, no problem. I come back an hour later to check if maybe we could get in ( the restaurant being even emptier than before) and the same hostess, with attitude, told us that we have only waited for one hour and that we would have to wait until the time she selected. I think this is a great tourist attraction. You really pay for the atmosphere and the experience, so be prepared to pay a little bit more for dinner here. The service was above average - our waitress stayed on top of our drinks and we rarely had to ask her for anything. The food was decent, but as I mentioned before, you really pay for the experience. The animals come to "life" every 20 minutes and it's all just very appealing for families with children or visiting tourists coming through DFW. Well. I hate to do this, but feel it's a must. I've been coming to this Rainforest since it opened (sporadically that is). It used to be amazing. Last time I chose to eat here (in 2015) the food was so bad that I swore I wouldn't be back. But here we are. Since we were at the mall and my 4 year old had not ever had the "experience", I chose to give it another shot. First off: the features weren't operating. So there was lights and thunder but no moving animals (unless you count the fish in the tanks). Next: the food was awful. My soup was microwaved and my daughter's mashed potatoes a cold clump. Her fried food was what it was. The shrimp smelled so strong though so I can't help but believe the quality was poor. Very expensive for what you get and doesn't taste good either. Our server was amazing, sweet, and attentive. The poor quality of restaurant isn't her fault. Never again Landry's. You need to do an overhaul of this location and get the food on point. Get the features working. Make it right again. I know Graoevine Mills is almost a wasteland, and I'm betting that RC will soon be added to the list of "shut downs" in this area. read more

LAVA CAKE! That's all you need to remember when you go here. And make sure you bring a couple friends to devour that beast. Okay I'll stop messing around but desert was the highlight of my meal and the Lava cake made me want to reach deep down and find room to eat more but I refrained from it. It's a cool concept of a restaurant with the jungle theme and the staff that point out the different animals as they take you on a tour to your table. The wait time wasn't too terrible but pretty lengthy, I'm guessing due to the popularity with its customers. The table I was sat at seemed to be in a congested/high traveled walk way. That was a bit annoying but I just moved to the other side of the table and I wasn't bothered by people walking or bumping into my chair anymore. I had the rib and chicken plate. To my surprise both were juicy and flavorful. I had a mix drink and glass of water to go with my meal. The mix adult drink was pretty darn good as well as the meal. I'm definitely going to give this place a second go if ever I'm around one. Oh the the mark down was for the feeling stack on top of other people. Rainforest cafe in grape vine Tcc rolled out a new menus today and the food is new and definitely improved. My wife had the shrimp flat bread and I had the shrimp tacos, they were both amazing. The most important part of as my sone has a dairy allergy and they more than impressed us with how they catered to us and ensured his food was dairy free. Definitely a place to eat because you have kids! The food is Ok At best. But the moving animals and the rainforest back drop, and the large aquarium with tropical fish make it awesome for kids. The restaurant will mimic a real storm with loud thunder and lighting every 5 minutes or so. I truly enjoy seeing my son's face. But I wish they had better food options (like healthier) because they do cater to kids. Even though I'm in my mid 20s, I love rainforest cafe. The animals always crack me up and I still get excited when the "jungle" goes wild. I wanted to be adventurous this time around and ordered the veggie burger and fries. The veggie burger is a chick pea base, and it comes with guacamole and all the fixins. It was yummy and then two bites in it got so boring. The burger was just okay. Despite the food being just okay, I left a 5 star review because of the wonderful and attentive staff members! Waited to be seated for an hour and when it was my turn the table had garbage all under it and the table itself was dirty and the high chair (that was clearly left there on accident) wash full of food.. not only that the service from my waitress is horrible. I went into this fully knowing the food would be expensive and we would have to wait a bit. It's a unique experience that's supposed to be fun for the kids, and I was willing to wait/pay a little more for it. I was not prepared for the poor customer service, and my experience will forever be tainted by some cheesesticks... that I never ate. We ordered cheesesticks for an appetizer. We were getting worried about how long the food would take after 20 minutes had passed and we never got them. Then our food arrives, but still no cheesesticks. Our waitress finally returns and asks if we ever got them. I said no, and she seemed surprised. She thought that we had received them and eaten them but someone else cleared them away. Here's the thing... if you've neglected our table for so long that you aren't sure whether or not we've eaten an appetizer, perhaps you've neglected it a little too long. Nevertheless, I try to be understanding. She offers to give them to us anyway at no charge, and I said that would be nice. Mistakes happen, but I appreciate when places try to redeem themselves. More time passes... we finish our meals, which were underwhelming, and still not a cheesestick in sight. When our waitress stops by to check on us, she realized that we still don't have them. She claims there is a misunderstanding in the kitchen and that she'll make sure we get some to go. More time passes... our waitress returns a third time and rambles on about the kitchen some more. The manager also stops by to give a simple, half-hearted apology and blame the kitchen. At this point, I don't really care about the cheesesticks, but I realize I'm just being fed excuse after excuse while nobody takes ownership of the (now repeated) mistake and no attempts are made to rectify the situation. I also realize that poor customer service comes straight down from management. We close out our check and leave. The kids loved it. They thought the thunderstorm was real and enjoyed watching the animated animals. The atmosphere is the only thing keeping this from being 1 star. It's really neat, and I really wanted to like this place more so that I would be happy to bring the kids back. The kids REALLY wanted to go though, so we decided to go and take our chances. It was a Monday night, so not terribly busy but still really steady. Service: Excellent! Pleasant staff, from the host to the waitress everyone was lovely and super friendly. Food: Actually really good! Wife and I split the big appetizer plate. The kids (ages 3, 3, and 7) loved their food and ate every bite. Atmosphere: The kids loved it! It's fun. It's obviously over 20 years old, but all in great working order. Everything was very clean and in order. Wait time: Despite there being a steady flow of people in, we waiting about 2 mins to get seated. Overall it was a really good experience. It could be that most reviewers went on a weekend; I could see it being insane there on a weekend, making the food sub-par and the staff tired and annoyed. Not excusing this behavior, just maybe the reason we had such a good experience where others have not. All in all, very glad my family got to experience this and enjoy it. read more

The ambiance is always AMAZING at any Rainforest Cafe. This is our 3rd time here and needed some work. We came during Spring Break which yes, I know, bad planning. Because we are Landry club members our wait time went from 2 1/2 hours to 10-15 minutes. BONUS!! Highly recommend signing up. They had their usual balloon artist which was great for the kids!! I came here for my birthday dinner this year to be nostalgic as I use to come every year as a kid. We were so let down in comparison. We had a bigger party since it was my celebration dinner so we anticipated a longer wait time for food but did not think our main courses would take an hour. No server or manager came to our table to acknowledge the wait time. By the time the food arrived my steak was way over cooked and my brother got sick from the raw chicken he was served he unknowingly took a bite of. He stopped eating his meal immediately once he noticed it he said as well as he did not take it home when offered a to go box. He later threw up and didn't feel good for the rest of the evening and informed me of the food issue. I feel bad that he didn't mention it but he is younger and didn't want to say anything to potentially ruin my evening. I've since told him it is appropriate to bring up in the future. I tried to call the restaurant the next evening and could never get through to anyone so im guessing they were busy. I love the little thunderstorms and I like that this location still had fish in the fishtanks (the one in Chicago doesnt).
