First time at Pappadeaux and we had such a great experience! Cassidy was our server/bartender, and Sarah and Sufyan were also wonderful. Everyone was so friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. When they found out it was our first time, they even told us some of the history behind Pappadeaux, which was actually really interesting and such a nice touch. The crab cake was EXCELLENT, and honestly everything we had was great. We'll definitely be back--which I know is the most cliché Yelp review ending ever, but we really will. We had our 29th anniversary dinner here and we both had a meal we recall having months ago that was very memorable... i had the red fish and shrimp and she ordered a filet with the potato puree. First off, having fish of any sort just melt in your mouth is something special, but when the shrimp does it too, that is when you know the meal is going to be fire! The mozzarella sticks are always a win, when topped with the tangy marinara sauce, this is a special item that alone can leave a smile on your face! The steak... let me begin by saying that ordering a steak here seems like a bad idea, but whoa! The tenderness of this meat was an easy choice for a re-living of this experience. Here for the seafood? Lobster was on my mind today and I indulged. I always eat at the bar since I am a single diner most times and that's ok as the bar tenders are super nice, friendly and efficient. They brought out the lobster for my approval and steamed it. It was delivered with hot butter and was in this massive shell that I delighted in pulling the meat out to dip in the butter. So Good!! We always love the bread basket here--it's always fresh, warm, and perfectly crispy! The Crawfish & Shrimp Fondue is the best, especially with the garlic bread. Our new favorite dish is the Caesar Salad with Grilled Salmon--fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious! And Ethan, our server, is excellent! Always a pleasure to visit this location. We didn't even realize that its restaurant week. We were starving after landing from a trip so we decided to dine here for dinner. Initially we were to split a dish but the restaurant week menu looks very appetizing. 3 curse for $40 is such a good deal for this place. Very disappointing visit to Pappadeaux Grapevine, TX. Been there many times and generally have enjoyed it. We had not been there for a while having moved my business. Returned on a Saturday late afternoon and were excited to visit again! Different players this time. Wasn't impressed. Sat at the bar and it just never got off the ground. Slow. Uncertain. Not professional. Seemed like the staff needed more training. The management never engaged to make sure things were right after several things going wrong. A LOT of standing around looking clueless. 7-8 people standing behind the bar at one end chatting away. That's not a typical Pappadeaux. I won't name anyone but it was a train wreck in every way. Pappas concept is usually a well oiled machine. But not today. Was honestly an awful experience. It comes down to management and training. They're lacking. One excuse after another. The wait times and lack of accountability was sad. End of the meal we waited almost a half an hour for two desserts (ordered at the beginning of the meal by their request) and the manager came over and said the kitchen was backed up. Restaurant wasn't that busy. Forgetfulness by the woman that handled our order is more likely the reason. Was BS. I generally don't complain - but this was not a good showing for Pappadeaux. Management never even offered to make things right or make up for their lousy service. I know restaurants - and I've even been a part of Pappas' restaurants in the past. This location has serious problems. Doubt we'll be going back to Grapevine Pappadeaux. Spent $250+ for lunch and felt very unhappy when we left with our 2 desserts in a to go bag. Oysters were small and $31.95 Caesar salads had no croutons. Waited 15 min to get them and was told "yeah there should've been croutons on the salad". Asked for potato puree instead of dirty rice and was charged $9 for a dollop, and was still served the dirty rice on the dish after I told her I wouldn't be eating the rice. Mid rare request on the salmon was past on the degree of doneness. Prosecco refills on the $56 bottle was slow and frustrating. Empty glasses and waiting. Just felt genuinely ignored. Consider the Dallas Tollway, Lombardy, Oak Lawn, FW, Arlington, Richardson or Bedford before this Grapevine store. read more

Came to celebrate a friends birthday. When we were being seated, the hostess took us to a table right in front of the door. As it was 5:30 on a Saturday, there were plenty of seating available so I wasn't sure why she would seat us here. I explained I would like to be seated elsewhere, she looked frustrated and took us to another table. She had two sets of silverware, although we told her three in the party, she responded our server would bring it. Our server, bless her heart, was either new, having a hard day or just overwhelmed. I told her we were celebrating my friends birthday. She acknowledged her, told her happy birthday and told her how pretty she looked (I say all this for what came later). I asked her if they had crab fingers, she said she knew they had them earlier in the day but wasn't sure if they were available but would go check. She was gone for a good 15 minutes and came back asking if we were ready to order. Orders were placed and when she got to me, she looked at me like we didn't have a conversation about the crab fingers which she never let me know if they had them or not. She came back to ask if we would like to order dessert. Brought the dessert tray over, we ordered something off of it and then she brought the check. Had to ask her if they do anything for birthdays and she looks like a deer caught in the headlights. I once again mention we are celebrating my friends birthday. She orders a dessert to go and once again it's a waiting game. White tablecloth and ornate lighting add a touch of upscale feel to this always busy and loud location. Don't worry -it's still casual. 1 Star. Service - Our servers were amazing. They were attentive and extremely helpful. Every request was made, they continued to follow up and displayed a genuine interest in our party's experience. This is the kind of service I would expect from a super high-end restaurant. Kudo's Pappadeaux. 1 Star. Food - Each table gets a complementary freshly baked bread along with whipped butter. Ask for scampi butter if you want some extra flavor. Now, Pappadeax's portion sizes are humongous. Really, you can easily split all the dishes. On this visit, we started with Crab Finger appetizers both fried and sauteed. The sauteed version is served with dirty rice and can easily be a meal. ProTip - dip the hot, fresh bread into the sauteed sauce so you don't waste any. I split my Pappas Greek salad on this visit. The traditional Greek salad packs a punch of flavor from it's olives and feta cheese while the lettuce keeps you cool. This salad comes with two shrimp, but you can add any protein like a blackened salmon filet. My only issue is that Pappadeux's prices have skyrocketed over the years. A meal for 4 will easily exceed $200. 1 1/2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. Death, Taxes, and Pappdeaux's - these are the constants if you live in Texas. Salmon was very salty and mashed potatoes were too wet, like a soup, the dish was pretty tasty but it could have been better, seafood pasta was okay, a little dry and only 2 shrimps and one piece of octopus, the crab got lost in the sauce. The fondue appetizer is incredible! It has crayfish, shrimp, lots of mushrooms, spinach in a fantastic wine cheese sauce with the garlic bread, 10 out of 10!! We love the Chilean Seabass, as well as the Grouper. We frequently also order the Salmon or the fried shrimp. You really can't go wrong with whatever is your order here, as it always is excellent! They have an outdoor patio seating area, as well as a very large interior seating area. The feel is upscale, however you can wear whatever you want. Pappadeaux is always my family's go to for a nice dinner. This time, we showed up on a Friday night without a reservation and were lucky enough to be seated right away around 7pm. We must have gotten one of the last open tables because shortly after we saw many parties waiting for a table. I got the naked salmon and my husband got the seafood pasta. Both were delicious! My salmon was cooked perfectly to medium rare. And the potato puree was creamy and luxurious. Others at our table ordered oysters and they raved about them. The restaurant was packed and lively! Unfortunately, the kitchen seemed to struggle as we had to wait way longer than usual for our food. The manager came by and apologized for the wait though, which was very kind. Went to celebrate my dad's birthday and haven't been to Pappadeaux in a few months. No secret it's one of my favorite restaurants. It never lets me down personally. I got the roasted oysters for the first time and they were delicious af! Can't believe it took me so long to get these. If you put the sauce that comes with the fried alligator on the oysters, it sets it off even more. The alligator is always perfect. No complaints ever on that. I also tried the Texas redfish for the first time as I usually get salmon or blackened catfish. The redfish was really good and I liked the butter sauce on it. It was light and the texture was firm but still melt in your mouth. The crab and shrimp on top added that perfect touch. It was a pretty good plate and I'm not mad I ordered it. Found this place by mistake. Thought I should try some Cajun food while here. I haven't had some good Cajun food in a while, so this was a no-brainer. From the moment i walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. This place is pretty big, and it was kinda full. Of course you come to a seafood restaurant and eat chicken, right? Well, I did. I was in the mood for some Cajun chicken with red beans and rice. My waiter, Scott, hooked me up. He recommended the large chicken tenderloin order and made it a combo, fried and Cajun. As you can see from the photo, this was a large serving, and better than you would think. I totally enjoyed it. I will be back to try some other dishes. We've been to this location numerous times; pretty much our to-go place if we can't decide on a place to meet. The restaurant is very nice and clean, and they're always so accommodating; the wait is never an issue. The food is obviously the main reason we return so often and we always get the crab claws (secret menu), the seafood pasta, shrimp fondue and their salad is so good because of their creamy vinaigrette dressing! This would actually get 5 stars from me but they took away our favorite drink, because they discontinued a grapefruit vodka and we were disappointed, but other than that we love this place and will keep coming back! read more

While the food was great, seven of our family members noticed Tatum's targeted, passive-aggressive behavior toward one specific woman in our group. It was incredibly uncomfortable and bizarre. Tatum interrupted her mid-conversation to ask an unnecessary question , constantly reached directly in front of her face--about 10 to 12 times throughout the meal, skipped her and got asked for her drink order dead last. At one point, while our family member was adjusting her hair, Tatum walked back just to physically touch her arm out of the way to grab a plate.
