Our server was good. She was kind and good at her job. She wasn't overly awesome. But we weren't disappointed by any means. The food runner was hilarious. He was tall, bald and funny... his personality shown through and he made jokes while he passed out food. His interaction with us was approximately 41 seconds long but he was memorable. We enjoyed most of our drinks (although the ice water didn't taste good) as well as the Korean fried chicken lettuce wraps and the bourbon street salmon and coconut shrimp. The kids meal was a bit meh. The kids may not eat as it can be a bit of a sensory overload with the "rainstorm", animatronic animals (and the number of people in the restaurant) to a highly observant child. Although those are the best parts. I think there could be an improvement in the gift store. There seemed to be limited clothing available to purchase for souvenirs compared to other Rainforest Cafes visited in the past. The store seemed mostly set up for build a bear. Diana made our experience with our 7 mo old grandson entertaining and amazing! He loved the animal sounds and thunderstorms . The food was good - recommend the corn chowder and burger - but come for the ambience. Our drinks tasted like dirt, literally. I think their soda machine is in need of a serious cleaning. Our appetizer came out in about 90 seconds and was luke warm. Our food took about an hour to come out and was fine-no complaints, other than my burger being way under cooked on one side. One thing I have learned about Rainforest Cafe is, they don't care if the restaurant goes under. The menu items are overpriced and service doesn't make up for the food or price. I was shopping during the tax-free weekend and decided to look around the gift shop. It's been yrs since I dined at rainforest cafe and I wanted to make reservations while shopping. The number of new menu items caught my attention. As I walked toward the restaurant area, I saw many empty tables and heard people complaining. I decided to eat in the food court instead-but wanted to purchase a souvenir. Sadly, I think this location will be closing in a few years. I won't be giving them another shot, but at least I'll have a beautiful mug. read more

Going to MeowWolf? Do yourself a favor and don't include Rainforest Cafe in your plans. From crazy long waits despite many empty tables, to being served drinks that taste nothing like they should, to very poor food quality, it will be a disappointment. This place is understaffed by high schoolers who were poorly trained-- my husband ended up waiting 10 minutes for a steak knife only to still have to saw through a small overcooked steak... even at the bar, another couple waited 20 minutes for chips and salsa! I sent back my shrimp/chicken pasta after two bites (one that included a full shrimp shell). Just say NO. read more

Good grief it takes forever to get a reservation here and it takes forever to get your food! I would rate this 3 stars, but it was a family experience and I feel like we created sweet memories here. If I had visited here alone I would have rated it 3 stars for the slow service and long wait for seating. I tried to take my toddler here for lunch last spring on a Friday afternoon. They had a 90 minute wait! No way! I forgot about it until my husband asked if I had ever been a few weeks ago. We planned on going on a Saturday evening but couldn't even get a reservation for a week out! So we went the following Friday evening. The restaurant was half empty so why was it so hard to get a reservation?! The environment is set up like a rainforest with trees and animated, lifelike animals. Elephants, birds, tigers, gorillas, monkeys...do all these animals really live in rainforests? I don't know. It was more like a zoo. Every once in a while a thunderstorm would come through. My toddler was unbothered but my 2 month old looked frightened. Lol! It took a good 30+ minutes for our food to come out but it was very good and hot. I had the fish and chips, my husband had a burger, and my 3 year old had chicken nuggets that were shaped like dinosaurs. They know how to make a toddler eat. Overall it was a good experience with my family that I'll never forget, but fix the reservation process and speed up the kitchen! read more

The experience for the grandkids was great. They loved the adventure and seeing everything. Clearly they like so many others in the service industry is experiencing help issues. We had to wait 20 minutes.. lots of tables available so I think they did not have enough help to support the demand. The food... Well... its a tourist destination so it is over priced and ok at best.. but your buying an experience... so that is what is important is the kids enjoyed it. read more

The ambiance is awesome. Kids will love the animatronic animals and the jungle decor. Our waitress was great she was nice, knowledgeable and quick with our order. So why the one star? The food- it was horrifying. The fish and chips was raw on the inside and cooked on the outside. The fries so bland even my teenager would eat them. My husbands ribs were dry and hard. My coconut shrimp was so hard I couldn't bite through them and my scallops looked well.. for lack of a better description like vomit. Luckily the manager was nice enough to remove them from our ticket when the waitress noticed the full plates on our table and our firm denial for take out boxes. Rainforest Cafe was the knight in shining armor on a bad, snowy day. We were in Grapevine during the 2021 winter storm. Most places were closed or at capacity. Even though the mall was closed, the staff at Rainforest Cafe still sat us. The food - it was so welcoming to have a great, hot meal. The staff was very pleasant and friendly. Omg. My first visit was today. The Beyond burger was very uncooked. When I took a bite. It was raw/pink. The bartender was nice about it However, he admitted they were unstaffed and it definitely felt like it . The lady next to me at bar sat there for about 15 to get her drink order taken. It's a themed restaurant so a long wait is to be expected, what's absolutely annoying is the pedant attitude from the employees, as if they were annoyed to have to help yourself u with your mundane request. At first I thought it may have just been the hostess but boy was I wrong. Apparently I should've not dared to ask her if she had an idea how much longer it was gonna be after waited the 45 min she said it would be, I should've known better as she said, "the kitchen is backed up so it's gonna be a while longer". I did try to call and make a reservation as I read reviews that they have obnoxious wait times. When I called I was informed that the reservation system was not working but she didn't expect a long wait time. The hostess was friendly, We were met by the bartender/server in a timely. The bar is pretty cute, it's a giant mushroom and all the seats have a variety of animal legs, we were sat in a nice spot between the elephants and gorillas. The inside is cute but dated, the animatronics were in various stages of maintenance. For example, the elephants looks nice and clean, the tigers had dust all over them, the gorillas were not as bad as the tigers but still quite dusty. The fish tanks were nice but unfortunately a tad lackluster, it seems a missed opportunity with them, perhaps they were great back when they opened but these looked underwhelming. The tanks were clean but not interesting to look at. In my opinion fish tanks should almost be like an "I spy" book where you see lots of fun things the more you look such as a fish in a cave or fish in a castle, a bubbler, plants, etc, these tanks are just, meh. I'll add that there was the smell you find in restaurants that have carpet and the carpet is not cleaned, if they switched to tile this would eliminate that funky moldy/old smell, maybe in the future they will do this as an update. I wasn't shocked when I walked in the store part and smelled the carpet, it's a distinct funky smell that's unmistakable. Regarding age appropriateness, obviously this is geared toward kids. Parents take their kids here as a fun meal this isn't a place to go for a date or even teenagers. This is very much for the young crowd, for us, we are in the right age group, I would not bring them as teenagers here. Every so often there's a "rainstorm" and the lights flicker, the animatronics move and there's thunder sounds, my guys didn't have any issues but I saw some in the under 3yo group get scared. I just told mine it's not real and it's just for fun to make us feel like we are in the rainforest, it made my kids smile but I can see it scaring the babies and bothering anyone on the spectrum. It doesn't happen often so I think just being aware of it is important incase you need to plan a distraction or bring headphones. The food was okay, I think our meals must have been done for a while and sitting under a heat lamp. My kids ordered the pizza with fruit and pasta with fruit. The fruit was just grapes and two slices of orange and they were the same temperature as the meals (the pizza and the pasta). I found that quite odd and it did bother me that the restaurant had plastic plates under a heat lamp especially when that food is going to kids. The restaurant needs to change this practice, it's dated and when we know better we do better. I ordered the BBQ burger with frys. My burger was huge, I coukd only eat half of the patty, I ate a couple frys and no bread, that burger patty is really big. You could split this meal between two adults easily. The flavor of the meat was fine, it was what I expected from a restaurant like this if I had to pic one, I'd wish for a more flavorful and juicy burger over just a large amount of meat. My kids ultimately decided to split their meals and share so they could both enjoy each others meals. Overall we had a good time, I enjoyed watching my kid's experience the restaurant. I enjoyed pretending the elephant only moved when I turned around (pretending it was prancing me so the kids would giggle). I enjoyed the theme for my animal loving kids. The food took way to long to come out, about 25 mins in a not crowded restaurant, the warm plastic plates and warm fruit were gross but now I know to specifically ask for the kids to not have plastic plates. The take away here is it's a fun place to bring your kids, go at lunch for shorter lines, try to get a reservation ahead of time if possible. Ask for non plastic plates for your kids, and be aware that this restaurant is overdue for renovations so something's are not up to date or maintained as well as they could be/should be... plus, that funk smell from the carpet. I did some light digging and saw that the parent company of Rainforest cafe is Landrys. For anyone who doesn't know they own a ton of stuff like Joe's Crab Shack, saltgrass, bubba gump etc, the list goes on and on. After seeing that it's a massive company that owns this I feel they need to get their people in and overhaul this location. It's kind of odd that a company of that scale is making mistakes like I've stated above, they have the people, connections, resources to update this place and make it good. Since they have not, it makes me wonder why, are they thinking this location is a lost cause? Or are they truly not aware what is going on here? Hmmmm, leaves more questions than answers. read more

We had a nice time! Atmosphere was fun and food was pretty good. Glad we had reservations because they were fully booked. Our server was very sweet but wasn't around a whole lot which left us low on drinks pretty often. Dinner took over 2 hours. No complaints really because my kids loves the atmosphere but just don't expect a quick dinner. Food was really good and the chef came out to talk to us when we mentioned food allergies which was really amazing. When we shopped the store we were told they were having issues with their kiosk as it had just been updated and installed so they couldn't use our gift cards we had purchased specifically for this visit. I've been to the rainforest cafe in California, Chicago Nevada and Arizona. This particular location in grapevine was the same. It seemed like a slow night, which was a good thing. You've at least got to take the kids, or your date here once. Rainforest Cafe is different, and only offered in a few select states. So we're lucky! It's a pleasurable experience for the kids. We went around Christmas time and the animals were decked out in Xmas gear (hats and scarves) and the Xmas lights were up. Inside of the lobby or pre entrance there's a gift shop, and build a bear. One thing at a time people!!!! I swear these children are over indulged these days lol I will consider having a birthday party for my daughter here. They bring you some volcano ice cream and sing to you. I'm not sure if you have to purchase the dessert. All in all it's a great time here. Basic food and the prices weren't too high read more

This is the best Rainforest Cafe we have been to. The staff was so kind and attentive. Every single employee was thoughtful, checked on us and made sure the kids were happy! It was really great to see a staff that enjoyed their job! The food was better here than other locations we have been to also.! Amazing queso appetizer to start with. It was delicious and they gave you a ton of queso. Kiddos had chicken nuggets and pizza and they gobbled them up. I had the House salad and the ranch was homemade. It was fresh and tasty! Husband had the fish and chips. The fries were seasoned really well and fish was great! He ate the whole thing. PRO TIP: MAKE RESERVATIONS. Wait time is extremely long if you do not. TRASH! TRASH! TRASH!! AVOID JULIO THE WAITER. Visited this place with my family for a birthday we had a reservation for 10 - 6 adults and 4 kids. The seating arrangement was trash - they arranged a table for 14 so when we consolidated to sit closer together Julio our waiter informed us that normally people don't sit on the end because the people who buss the tables pass through but it was up to us to sit on the end or not. We told him we would sit this way and it would be fine. Another person then said we were not allowed to sit that way because of the people walking through and it was a safety hazard. Okay fine. We adjusted. While explaining the sitting situation Julio also said he has been there a while - so he's experienced? No. Julio brought out the our food and did not know who ordered what and placed plates incorrectly in front of people. I ordered the Taste of the islands and my vegetables and rice were cold. I mentioned this to Julio and he got a manager right away - the manager was the only pleasant person we've dealt with at this point. When we paid Julio did not remember that we were there for a birthday- He also didn't give us the tickets back correctly. It was 3 checks, for an "experienced" server he was TERRIBLE. CHERRY ON TOP? The bathrooms were trashed and disgusting- looked like they haven't been cleaned all day. I mentioned this to the host and she told someone else who I believe was a manager. Altogether this place was a terrible experience for us. If I could give this place no stars I would. The staff was not welcoming or inviting nor genuinely friendly to or a willingness to serve. Came here as a treat for our kids. We were seated immediately. Took a little while to get our drink orders in and then to get our food orders in. But it was pretty good food. A little pricey in my opinion, but good nonetheless. My chicken sandwich was good. My husband had fish tacos that unfortunately were turning soggy on the bottom when they arrived. Kids had normal kid food (grilled cheese, hot dogs, burgers and pizza. I think above all the ambiance and experience of your surroundings is what people really come here for. Save your time and your funds! Decided to take my 4 nieces n nephew to Rainforest for the atmosphere. They were so intrigued by the "Live" crocodile in the entrance. We were given an hour and a half wait time, which was accurate. We then were seated and greeting in a tiny manner. And it was all downhill from there. From drink refill wait times.. **WARNING** 2 of 5 of us catching food poisoning (stay away from the burgers & the coconut shrimp!!!! We thought this was great. We were here for Spring Break, and I made a 2P reservation for Rainforest Cafe, for us to do after a few hours at Legoland. We arrived and were seated promptly, right in front of a huge, beautiful aquarium. Our server was very good, and we ordered things in waves so we could take our time. We enjoyed the drinks, and the food was very good, in my opinion. I did a side salad and added a side of coconut shrimp. It was the perfect amount of food and reasonably priced. We enjoyed looking at the fish, and I especially loved that my kids knew this was something special for them. My husband enjoyed his Bangkok stir fry and the kids meals were good. They enjoyed the sudden displays by the animals, and it really is a neat concept. I thought it might have lost some of its luster over the years, but it still seemed as special as when it first opened. I would recommend this, especially as we did, immediately after a visit to Legoland. By the time we left, our kids felt they had a special day, and we felt full and happy. We didn't make it out of the gift shop without dropping $60, but that's just part of it. read more
