Had a tour dinner here as well as a breakfast. Both were free so take it as you will. The breakfast, now knowing the price is a bit expensive but it isn't bad at all. Good omelets and home-fries. In terms of dinner, it started with a pretty generic salad. Afterwards, you had a choice between chicken, steak, or a veggie dish. The food reminded me of most wedding food but slightly better. Dessert was a tuxedo cake with some overly sweetened raspberry sauce. The food was alright, wish I got to try the good sounding short rib however. read more

Page surprised us very much! The rainbow room is a must. We were staying at the Lake Powell resort so the restaurant was a short walk from our room. We both said to ourselves we've never stayed at a resort and the food been that great so we went in not expecting much. But, wow, we were surprised! We ordered the short rib sandwich and New York strip steak. The short rib was divine, the flavors were there and clear that it was made that day. Glade (our server) let us know it was started at 11 am and cooked all day. The chef clearly put the time and heart into the food. Fries were fresh and tasty as well. My NY strip was cooked well and had a minor sweet flavor which I loved. I had never tasted AZ beef so this was new for me. The Brussels were so good, the red chilies and onions made a wonderful combo with the Brussels and potatoes. I was not hungry and I cleaned my plate in minutes! Cocktails...prickly pear margarita was outstanding! It is extra sweet for a margarita but, if you've had a prickly pear you expect this. We also have the martini and the blueberry crush which were wonderful. Candy knows what she is doing! Glade was a wonderful server and helpful with the menu. I should have read the reviews closer before eating there. Their prices are on the middle to high end and would expect much more than we got. I got the prime rib and my husband got a New York steak. They were ordered medium rare and both came fairly well done. Mine was replaced with a correct doneness the second time, but the mgr came with my hubby's NY and said "the middle is med rare are you sure that you want it rarer?" My husband replied so I should spend $33 on a steak and I can only eat the middle? On a side note: don't put bacos on a wedge salad. Spring for some real bacon!! We haven't seen our waiter for 20 min while waiting for a check. read more

On Sunday night we arrived with the most beautiful sun hitting Lake Powell. It was 715 pm and upon inquiring about getting a table at the Rainbow Room was told we couldn't get a reservation until 8 pm (even though we saw multiple tables open). We opted for the Driftwood Lounge next door (Denise was a great server) that could seat us at 745 and made reservations for the Rainbow Room on Monday night at 730 pm. When we asked for a table with a view we're told that they could only do that if we were a table of 5 or more, minus one person we were told 4 people are first come first served on tables. Monday at 715 pm we arrived for our reservations. What occurred next is so perplexing. We observed the hostesses taking great liberty and interpreting the rules (unless the manager specifically says we only like big parties because they tip better). A table of 5 got reservations at 730 (an 8 minute wait) and at a great window view (we didn't as we got sat at 732 with a 24 hour reservation), a table of 3 was turned away and got reservations for 830 pm and the a table of 11 was given 745 reservations at an amazing window view (did I mention we didn't) The server Anthi was the best we've had. Bryan was prompt at filling our water glasses. Impressed with service at table overall. Had the manager come to the table as we requested, instead of not showing up for over an hour as we were told by Summer - we could have shared the displeasure in person. The hostesses need customer service training. Summer is arrogant and rude. Summer flat out lied to all of us. The others quietly and subserviently allow her to run the show - even though it's clear in their eyes they know better. Either we were lied to (again) about the manager coming or management needs some customer training too. Unless you are a table of 5 or more stay away. Food is not all that great anyway. read more

As far as settings go, this place is exceptional! In terms of fine dining in Lake Powell, this is easily the best. Our waiter Dusty was pleasant and did a great job. I ordered the Strip Steak and mashed potatoes which were delicious but a little over seasoned. All the other members in my group ordered the salmon. They enjoyed it but they had the same problem of the food being over seasoned. The carrots that came with the salmon were doused in pepper and inedible. The dessert of the Nutella creme brûlée was extraordinary and finished off a great night of dinning. Amazing views and would definitely recommend! read more

I've had to revise my review cuz I ate here twice over the span of two days for their breakfast buffet.Medicore at best for breakfast buffet. Day 1 - the buffet lacked taste and substance. We came at 8am. They opened at 6am. Coffee was questionable. When I asked what kind they served. Answer was Starbucks. I drink lots of Starbucks. This blend was questionable. The waffle was dense and lacked flavor. No brown sugar for the oatmeal. The fresh fruit was dense and lacked essence. Bacon was skimpy. The breakfast danish tasted like lard, etc. The sausage was meaty and tasty. Day 2 - they've got an omelette station. You know it's going to be fresh cuz they make it in front of you. I got mushrooms, cheddar cheese, and diced tomatoes. Cooked perfectly. This time the sausage was not to my liking. The key is to come early. We came in at 6:15am. The bacon was meaty. First time to Lake Powell. No rooms available according to front desk. Booted up Hotel Tonight app and booked room online with "View" for $119. Otherwise it's $199. Wanted to make reservation at Rainbow Room at 6:30pm for dinner. Front desk was clueless on how do it. Come back at 4:00pm when hostess started shift to make reservation they said. Room not available until 3:30pm. Came back checked in and asked front desk when to make dinner reservation with another representative. He said just go to the Bar and make a reservation. The Bar Tender said the front desk said "What" ? Reservation was made. Dinner was very good. Waitress "Denise" was attentive and extremely helpful. Ordered the Fried Chicken, but I don't like dark meat. I ordered white meat only and up-charge me if necessary. Got a thigh anyway. Waitress showed me her order ticket. Who's ever in the kitchen is a "moron". Anyone hear the "customer is always right". Not disappointed, dinner was just fine. But when I want white meat and willing to pay more. We were staying at the hotel so stopped by for dinner. You need to make reservations; if you're last minute like us, likely you'll get a time when it's too dark for the lovely view. Food was expensive but excellent -- my pork tenderloin was flavorful, the beet salad was good, and my companions enjoyed their meals too. Lots of butter and cream help. Vegetarians / pescatarians beware -- the risotto has chicken stock in it. Cocktails sadly were disappointing -- full of soda water like from the 70s. Our server didn't know what a Salzerac was, and didn't seem that knowledgeable about the menu other than the basics. The breakfast buffet was $15/person so didn't go in the morning. read more

My wife and I stayed two nights as part of out tour. We had dinner both nights at the Rainbow Room. The food was excellent overall but more importantly the chefs made the extra effort to make sure my wife allergies were handled. She had great meals without the fear of getting sick. This is the most disappointing breakfast experience I've had. My girlfriends and I stayed in the resort and we were looking forward to have breakfast with view. There were plenty of empty tables closer to the window but we weren't allow to sit. We had $16 breakfast buffet but coffee is not included which they charge $3 per cup and it tastes exactly like the one in the hotel room. The stuff were rude and cold, they seem not enjoying working at this place and no smile at all. The food is very standard, the pastry were cold and the fruits were not fresh. Overall very disappointing experience, I won't recommend here to anyone. read more

We went to the restaurant and were asked to make reservations. The only open "time" was two hours later. To our surprise, when we we ushered in, half of the restaurant was empty! After we ordered, we had to wait for another 25 minutes to receive the food. I ordered the pasta, and it had a burnt taste. The server brought us another pasta, the same burnt taste. We ended up leaving the restaurant hungry! Although the Denise (the server) was very pleasant and trying to help, the management of the restaurant is poor, the cook definitely not the best, and the manager not friendly at all. View is lovely unless you are facing the pool area. We were the first people seated in the dining room and they refused to move our table when we requested to face the lake and not the pool. They insisted that they had a large party coming yet we ate and left and still many tables were available. Food options were limited. The ranch dressing on the wedge salad had too much pepper and a weird flavor. Both servings of prime rib were over cooked based on the order. My boyfriend booked this restaurant as part of a surprise trip for my birthday. He booked the restaurant BECAUSE of the view and even gave me a heads up that was the biggest reason (and that this was obviously the nicest restaurant in town). So, to be far, we went in with quite low expectations for the food and service. They ended up exceeding our expectations by a long shot! The views were, obviously, spectacular. We even had a special treat of it being clear when we sat and then a thunder storm came in later with lightning that lit up the outside of the restaurant in an incredible way. Our server was extremely friendly and well versed on the dinner menu and cocktail menu so she made some excellent (and delicious) recommendations. We split the Wild Mushroom Flat Bread for a starter. I had the Salt Roasted Beet Salad with salmon - I don't remember if I had to request this or not but, they did mixed greens instead of nasty iceberg. My boyfriend had the BLTA past and loved it. We didn't do dessert and opted for another cocktail each but, that's the kind of diners we are... As I mentioned, our server was incredibly friendly but we were both especially impressed with the back-up servers/server assistants. They were especially responsive and prompt with offering and getting refills on water and bread, without being intrusive on our special "date night' for my birthday. Pleasantly surprised at how Amazing the food was here. I had the ribeye and my wife had the salmon and both were over the top. This is coming from 2 that eat out regularly. And it's all definitely overpriced because of where you are (in a resort next to the lake). We had dinner here and not only did they serve me wine in a dirty glass, but screwed up my dinner order completely. At the end of the day, when you're vacationing in Page (or at this resort), know you're there for the views, not the food. ***You apparently HAVE to make a dinner reservation. We were here with a tour group so we had a "selected menu" consisting of prime rib, tilapia, or a vegetarian option. Four at our table of 6 chose tilapia. When our tilapia meals arrived they were cold. The small portion of fish was cold, hard and dry. The green beans, maybe ten of them total on each plate, were cold. The small portion of mashed potatoes was cold too. And the plate was cold. We flagged down a server, who sent over a supervisor, who said he didn't think they had any more tilapia because they only bought enough to fulfill the contract for the tour dinners, but he'd go see. The supervisor did not apologize. One of the four asked the supervisor for the prime rib instead. The supervisor said he didn't know if they had any more but he'd check. I think he was hoping we'd be discouraged by the delay and uncertainty. A few minutes later he returned and said there was no more tilapia so we would receive salmon instead. A server whisked away our cold meals and soon returned with three plates of salmon and one plate of very rare prime rib. (No one even confirmed prime rib was available or asked the guest for his preferred level of doneness!) The plates were still cold but the fish was at least warm, so we ate. I guess this 'you should be grateful we gave you anything' attitude is management's way of dealing with legitimate concerns. The cost of our meals was included in the tour price but not alcoholic beverages. Four at our table ordered wine or a mixed drink, and we were charged an 18% gratuity on those drinks because there were 6 at our table. Our breakfast buffet experience the following day was also a disappointment. The first plate I took from the buffet stack had old dried food all over it. The potatoes, breakfast tacos and scrambled eggs were barely warm. The pastries were just-removed-from-the-refrigerator cold. There was an omelette bar across the room but we didn't know it was there until after we selected from the buffet. This resort is owned and operated by Aramark. read more

Unethical staff and AWFUL customer service! So apparently this restaurant is seasonal and shuts down Nov. 1st. However google maps shows that the restaurant is open. It costs $30 to enter the park where the restaurant is located - I even told the park ranger we were going to the rainbow room for breakfast and she STILL took my money to enter the park. Then when we got to the restaurant they said that "EVERYTHING was closed and that the bar area opens at 4pm" Luckily I have 2 eyes and could see a small cafe. I told the man managing the cafe about our troubles and ALL he did was tell me that the ranger knew the restaurant was closed and that there's nothing he could do. I asked him to take accountability for the misinformation and paying $30 to get to a restaurant that's NOT EVEN OPEN. It's disgusting that no one made a single effort to turn our experience around. Great views but breakfast is overpriced and not that great. The buffet would be the best value, which we had. It goes until 10 and I spent most of my time waiting in the omelet line for my omelet (which was bland) before I could get to the buffet. Once in this line there was very little left and no bacon at all. Potatoes were hard and over cooked. I asked if they could bring more bacon out and the answer was no. Came here for dinner on our last night here in Page, AZ. We wanted to make it a special meal tonight and it did not disappoint. The place is located in the marina at the Lake Powell resort. We showed up early at 5pm and was able to score a table right by the window. The place is nicely decorated and has a great view of Lake Powell where you can see boaters out on the lake as well as the majestic mountains in the background. They had a nice menu selection and we started with the risotto arancini which was delicious. I had to hold back from licking the plate. Each meal comes with either the soup of the day or a house salad with prickly pear dressing or a caesar salad. My wife got the soup and I chose the house salad. The prickly pear dressing was quite delicious and very sweet. I really wasn't sure what to expect but it sure was good. My wife chose the kalbi short ribs and I chose the skirt steak. My steak was good and cooked well but seemed a little dry. Wish there was a sauce that came with it. The potatoes and the brussel sprouts were tasty sides. The kalbi short ribs were fatty and we did have to pick out a lot of fat. Not sure if this is normal but the sauce was good and the meat that was there was good as well. Her sides were a side of rice and green beans. For dessert we shared the bread pudding that sure did hit the spot. All in all it was a great meal and a nice way to end our trip. We will be sure to come back here for another visit in the future. read more

They really do need more help. But the steak I had was cooked perfectly but I feel that it should come with steak sauce on the side. My girlfriend didn't care for the pasta, it wasn't well flavored and salt and pepper couldn't help the taste. But overall the restaurant is in a good location and will be back as a family to try different items! read more
