My family and I had dinner at Rainbow Room on the Fourth of July. I made a reservation for our party of 3 for 8 PM, in hopes that we could catch the fireworks during or after dinner. Rainbow Room is located inside the Lake Powell Resort. It's right by the water. Parking is plentiful. We were greeted and seated right away by the window, which was perfect. We had a great view of the lake and red rock formations, but it seems like there's no bad view from any seat in the restaurant. Our server was friendly and quick to respond. We ordered the following items: Espresso martini $15 Lobster and Shrimp Ceviche $25 Shrimp Risotto $30 Porcini Mushroom Fettuccine $18 + chicken $7 10 oz NY Strip $45 Chocolate lava cheesecake Honestly, the food and drinks were 3/5. Nothing tasted bad, but nothing tasted amazing either. It was also a bit overpriced. However, the portions were generous which my teenager loved. We were able to watch the sunset and catch the start of the fireworks while at dinner. Highly recommend making a reservation around sunset if you're in the area! read more

This place only gets 3 stars because of the view. We did the buffet brunch. It's a cattle call! Giant tour busses come through to the equivalent of a Holiday Inn breakfast with an omelet station, which is the only saving grace. I would recommend going into Page and having breakfast there and skipping this place all together. read more

Tough review here. Restaurant seems nice and clean but the food was quite poor. We had a party of 12 for a birthday. The salads were dry and under dressed. The steaks were all wrong temperature (overcooked) the mushrooms pasta I had was over cooked and the mushrooms were rather bland. The soups were decent but the overall experience was not great. I've been here a couple times but my favorite was the thanksgiving dinner buffet. Really nice for those of us in the area that don't have family and friends to spend the day with. The food was awesome and worth the cost. The view was incredible. The guys working that day were really kind and of course there was plenty of seating. Unfortunately we drove all the way here, however we didn't eat. Made reservations for breakfast, but since there was no breakfast menu online, I tried calling to ask, but no answer. Upon arriving, we discovered its an All-You-Can-Eat breakfast buffet for $27 a person. Since no one greeted us at the counter, I just walked in to see what's offered. It's scrambled eggs, bacon, and croissants. They do not offer single menu items. Since no one still didn't greet us, we decided to leave and simply took pictures outside, enjoying the great views of Lake Powell. We ate back at Page, AZ. Like many reviews said, this place is unfortunately understaffed. I suggest they provide a breakfast menu to be viewable online. The only online menu is for dinner. We ate in the bar area right before it got super busy, so I did see some people after us with issues getting their orders on time before cruises. But my family and I had a great experience. View was great, food came out fast, bartender was nice. Only complaint is that they don't open up the full rainbow room until 5pm, which sucks if you want to pop in for some nice views and food before your cruise since the bar area is pretty small for the amount of people coming and going. read more

The one sort of positive thing about this location is that our waiter was nice. He was very slow though, but nice. The food was an ultra disappointment. We got the corn bisque which was way too thick and the predominant flavor was not corn. Not quite sure what it was. Then we ordered the watermelon salad which was just watermelon and a couple of microgreens. The pork belly that was served with the water salad was soggy and flavorless. We also ordered the New York strip which lacked flavor. The potatoes and carrots were more flavorful than the actual steak which was a delight. We didn't even want to try any desserts because the whole meal was just a disappointment. TL;DR: Unfit for special occasions. Ruined my birthday-turned-engagement dinner due to arbitrary cancellation by restaurant. They were notified of the special occasion for the dinner. The night of my engagement was ruined. I reserved my birthday-turned-engagement dinner here for the views, and the special occasion was noted in my open table reservation. I arrived, admittedly about ten minutes late, only to find out they had cancelled my reservation and given away the table to a walk-in. Yes, I did try to call ahead and let them know, but the line was busy or not picked up. When asked for an explanation, the person who cancelled my reservation just shrugged it off. Never once apologized. Never once recognized the special occasions being celebrated even though we mentioned it a couple of times. Did absolutely nothing to make it right. The ambiance itself is sterile aside from the view, which is hit or miss depending on the seat. I unfortunately found out the hard way. I'm only giving two stars instead of one because I liked the lobster tostadas and one of the bussers very nicely came by and congratulated me on the engagement. read more

We had a weekday in September 6pm reservation which was perfect for sunset. The 180 glass window views are spectacular. Possibly because a weekday in off season but our service was super quick and we were able to space out our appetizers, salads and entrees which was great. Our waitress Sheri was fantastic! Very attentive, informative and gave recommendations on food and even activities in the area! We tried the meat and cheese board and crispy cauliflower. The cauliflower wasn't very crispy but was cooked well and the sauce was delicious. Wedge salad was good and dressing gave amazing flavor. The prime rib and NY strip were both good but if you like it rarer ask for it (medium rare came out more medium) was still good. The mashed potatoes and vegetables (broccolini) were very yummy. We had a reservation which made it easier to get a table of course, definitely plan ahead of you want to have dinner here. The views are amazing and one of the best perks of this restaurant. Our server worked hard for us and was very attentive, even took pictures for us when we asked. The food was amazing and we were all very happy with our orders. As a former designer, I thought the utilization and design of the space was exceptional; lots of windows, with a great view for most of the diners. Service was efficient but not rushed, and the staff was very pleasant. The salmon dinner was very good, as well as the pork chop dinner. Caesar salad was chilled and crisp. We chose the Rainbow room to celebrate a family member's birthday and it was absolutely breathtaking. Located inside of the resort, it was easy to find and a great location. Anne, was our server and she was delightful in her service to us the entire night. The food is on the pricier side given the incredible view and the fresh ingredients but it was well worth it. We had a 5:45pm reservation and it was the perfect time to take photos and enjoy our meal without the rush of the crowd that joined later around 7pm. Great location, but very mediocre food. The view is beautiful as long as you get there before sunset. The room has great ambiance, but the lighting is very harsh. It is bright white and way too intense thus negating the ambience of the pretty room. There were 5 of us for dinner recently. I ordered the $42.00 NY steak, which I think my server said was prime meat. It is were prime, it was the worst prime I have every had. Tough and tasteless. My feeling is that this was marginal choice meat that is no better than what you could get at the local Safeway. It was served with a few fingerling potatoes and some carrots. My wife and a friend both ordered the $40.00 prime rib. It was probably better than the steak, but not by much. Again, served with a few vegetables. One other person in our party just ordered the soup. The bread was OK and the wine list, though sparse was not over priced. Our server did a good job and the food came out promptly. This restaurant urgently needs a better chef and higher quality meat. If not for the view, I cannot imagine any reason to eat here. read more
