Okay, our first dining experience was a 1 star. Horrible! Such a beautiful night we wanted to eat outside. Everything is served in to go containers. The breading slid off the fish and chips, the food was cold and soggy and it's kind of hard to eat certain things with plastic cutlery. Our next 3, yes 3 visits were great! We were staying at the resort, and it's a long drive to Page for food. The Driftwood Lounge is the only place at the resort to eat. We sat at the bar and were attended to by Bradley, the greatest bartender! Our food was hot and so tasty. The things we tried were: porcini mushroom fettuccini, chicken wings, lamb and lentil soup,burger, chicken quesadilla. Probably more but I can't remember. Honestly we almost didn't eat here again after the first impression. Sit at the bar, hopefully Bradley will be there to serve you! read more

Came here by myself and the server seemed to be really annoyed that I was taking up space as a solo dinner. I got a veggie burger and fries and about half way through got the check already so I just took the rest of my food, paid and left. The whole resort is so nice and as someone that is relatively local it's a great stay cation, but I'm really disappointed that the server at least this most recent time, as soon as she realized I'm localish, just wanted to rush me out of there. We have come to this restaurant 4 or 5 times in our travels around the country and the service each and every time has been fantastic. Our current favorite server Jenny goes above and beyond, is knowledgeable about the facilities and the area and great at her job! The food is also very good. We were a little frustrated after we sat down in the corner window overlooking the pool and beautiful lake because it took some time before anyone came to take our drink order, but once we got started, the service excelled from there. We only intended to get drinks and maybe an appetizer, but the food that was coming out to other tables looked so good that we opted to get dinner after all. I would definitely recommend this place to any visitors that are in town on vacation, whether you are staying at the hotel or not. After driving 10+ hours, I was exhausted. It made sense to just eat in the resort. I could also get a couple drinks while waiting for our food so it was decided. When I walked in, I sat at the bar. The bartender took her time to help me but when she did, I was able to order a double Basil Hayden neat. I messaged Mink what's on their menu and waited for her reply on what to order. While waiting, she was talking up a storm with the couple sitting next to me. I had to flag her down each time I had a question or wanted to order something. She didn't check on me and even forgot to check on my question on if they offered hot cocoa. I had to remind her which was annoying because the place was not busy. Fortunately her coworker went out of her way to make it for Mink. 5 stars to her coworker and a star bump up for the overall experience. Mink and I decided to share a burger since we were still pretty full from lunch. We ordered their D.W.L. signature Burger medium well with everything on the side and fries extra crispy. The kitchen got the order out in no time and as ordered which impressed us. We thought the burger was ok but it wasn't blow your mind amazing. The fries were quite crispy and we were content with the meal. What I thought was odd was that the bartender gave me my bill when my food came out without asking me if I wanted the check. I also didn't ask for it but since she gave it to me, I decided to go back to the room. Guess I wasn't welcome there. Overall, 2.5 stars. Convenient but meh. read more

Saw a lot of negative review of this place which was a little concerning at first. Since there weren't many restaurants in the area so we tried it out and we were thoroughly impressed. They have a nice indoor space that has waiter service and then you could also do a to go order and eat by the pool. We opted for the latter. For lunch I ordered the burger. It was good and came with fries that were crispy and tasted good. We liked this place enough to come back for dinner. I ordered the wedge salad, pork belly sliders, chicken sandwich and Nutella creme brûlée. All were delicious. The creme brûlée was the best! Fish and chips was very mediocre. It had that fresh out of the previously frozen box flavor. French fries were okay. Caesar salad was okay. Fairly straight forward and cooked well. Service was very slow. Waiter dropped off the dinner menu from the restaurant next door. We waited a bit for him to return and take our orders then he disappeared after dropping off the right menu. Didn't see him again for awhile, meanwhile we went without drinks for a good to 10-15 mins. Food arrived warm but he never came back to refill waters or ask if we needed anything else like another beer. I had to flag him down so we could pay our check and leave. Even with the remodeling of the hotel, the lounge is open during the Winter season with limited dining hours. The lounge was small yet pretty, was placed in the corner with a beautiful view of the outside firepit and super trendy, cool, retractable covering for those desert hot temperatures in the Summer to keep cool. As far as hotel bars/restaurants go, Driftwood Lounge was perfectly solid. The service was nothing but friendly and professional, and the food was tasty. The prices are a little high for what you're getting, but that's to be expected at a resort. What stands out to me about this restaurant is the amazing views of the mountains in Lake Powell/Page, AZ. You really cannot beat this view as you have dinner or drinks. If you prefer to sit outside, you can sit by the outdoor pool and order takeout from the bar, which they will bring to your seats outside. Overall I really liked it here! We ate and drank here multiple times during our stay and we were happy with it. read more

The worst experience after visiting fantastic scenery. Firstly, we asked about table near the window, they had plenty of them, but still seated us far from the window. Food from supposedly Italian menu was disgusting, dry and far from fresh, the chief definitely doesn't know Italian cuisine. They were able to spoil best ingredients which hard to corrupt at all. Service was poor, the servant forgot to bring tea cup, messed up with ordered kind of tea, besides "I'm sorry" she couldn't help herself. Thus fancy interior didn't worth at all. We had lunch at Driftwood Lounge when we visited this place for a Boat ride at Lake Powell. Its just beside the lake. The interior is well done and the food was good. We ordered some Pita with Hummus as starters. Later I ordered The kale Quinoa salad with Salmon and hubby ordered Fish and Chips. Poorly trained staff leading to unacceptable service. Stopped in for lunch. It wasn't at all busy but it took a while to get my order. Once I stopped the server to get status, suddenly my food appeared but it was cold. Clearly it was ready a while ago but the server didn't get notified or didn't check. I ended up taking the food home and microwaving it so I could finish it. It was actually quite good when heated properly. Such a shame that it wasn't served warm. There was also a bit of a flail over the wine I ordered. Took four or five visits by the server and the bartender before I was told what was available and served. In stark contrast to the review that comes right before mine... Background: Hubby and I just wanted a nightcap. JUST. A. NIGHTCAP! Not too complicated, amiright? So, we went to the bar. This was tonight, by the way. Upon sitting, we were greeted, and when we shared that we were only getting a drink, we were told by our bartender that she would get us a menu. This process takes 5 minutes. Good thing there was a good basketball game on TV. She hands us the menu, and goes back to other customers. We both decide on two separate cocktails that intrigue us, and when she returns, we bring up those two cocktails, and are told separately that they are BOTH no longer on the menu. She proceeds to NOW clarify that only 4 of the 8 cocktails on the menu are still being served. Lets just say they took the 4 best drinks off the menu... We get our drink orders and sit at the bar for about 20 more minutes. We uncomfortably watch a person try to order a drink from her (in an otherwise pretty empty bar area) and be completely ignored/unheard? We're unsure. Our bartender counts her tips in front of us and ignores everyone at the bar top. When it was time to cash out, we got our tab and filled it out according to how we feel the service was. Anyone who has been in the service industry knows that you should not pull the tab from your customer until they are leaving the table. It is rude, presumptuous and makes the customer feel strange about whether or not they tipped you appropriately. OUR bartender picks up the tab, scoffs at the tip amount (in plain sight) and enters her tip into the computer directly in front of us. Needless to say, the Driftwood Lounge cannot take credit for the beautiful views of Lake Powell that it so fortunately resides upon. I'm grateful I didn't eat dinner here tonight. I have to be honest here, I was aiming for the Rainbow Room next door, but it was closed for lunch, so I had no choice but to dine here. This place didn't have a wide variety of food, just the basic salad, sandwich, burger and dessert. I got the Castle Rock Burger, and the Lake Powell Fish & Chips. They both disappointed me. The fish had a strange oily taste which I didn't like. The burger was dry, and the fries was really salty. If you ask me why I still give it a two star? I would say it's for the view. The view was amazing here. I hope next time I'm back, I can dine next door with an even amazing view. read more

Our experience at this restaurant (and at Lake Powell Resort, in general) was saved by a fabulous, seasonal bartender whose name we, unfortunately, failed to get. Our large crew checked-in around 7:30pm, tired, sweaty, and hungry after a week of houseboating. (We were only staying at the Resort to sleep before heading back home early the following morning.) No one was in the mood for the "fine dining" offered in the Rainbow Room and we wanted to shower before dinner. Unfortunately, we didn't realize most restaurants - both at the Resort and in nearby Page - were closing by the time we had all cleaned up around 8:30. The teens just wanted a burger and the adults just wanted something quick so we could rest before the long drive home. We settled on the Driftwood since it was on property and had a teen-friendly menu. Unfortunately, when we arrived there was no seating for 9 (even at 2 separate tables) except at the bar, where the teens were understandably not allowed. There were 3 vacant two-person pub tables nearby so, given no other option, we decided the adults would dine at the bar and put the 5 teens at the pub tables. Then...rules: "No, you cannot pull an empty stool from another pub table to seat 3 people," leaving one kid to eat alone. "No, the teens may not move to an empty dining table now that you've ordered food from the bar," even though no one else is waiting for that table and we're about to rope off the entrance. Fortunately, a very awesome bartender who saw the ridiculousness of the situation stepped in to assist the J-1 Visa student who was very courteous but either didn't understand or was just blindly following silly rules at a time (closing) when they didn't matter. As for the food and drink, it was all good but, admittedly, at 9pm after a long, sun-filled, fun-filled, hot, exhausting week, shoe leather would have tasted gourmet. September 22 Pretty place. Upscale yet warmly subdued. We waited too long for a table so we tried the bar area. Bar is understaffed considering a big portion of their clientele is from tour buses. Very disappointed when it arrived and had barely a taste of alcohol in it for $10 To be fair the 2 others in my party said their drinks were fine Major waits last evening to submit our dinner order even though we were seated for 20 minutes and had made it clear 3 of us wanted to order dinner bar staff continued to service walk up drink orders. Service was horrendous in the kitchen and waitstaff. I had to get up and get my own water after asking our waitress and another for water with no results. The cheese on my sons kids pizza wasn't melted. My cole slaw with mayo was warm. And our steamed vegis were cold. We sat there and watched table after table complain. Located to the left of the check in area at Lake Powell Resort, you'll walk past the Rainbow Room and Driftwood Lounge is by the coffee shop and pool. Service started great but when our servers changed shift it was downhill from there. The spinach dip was not even warm, the pita bread burnt on one side and not toasted on the other side. It could have tasted great if it was served warm and pita not burnt. The food was terrible, even the burger was bland. I was hoping it would be a great place to grab a drink, eat some food and watch the view of Lake Powell Marina. I do hope they improve on the food and speak with their staff. This resturant is kinda funky. It comes off as a high class place but the waiter was more interested in the football game than providing quality service. We were the first customers of the day as they open at 3, but the tables & floor were dirty. We would have run up our tab and stayed to enjoy the views, but it was not worth our money. The one star reviews here have to be people who think of Denny's as fine dining. This place is an oasis in a culinary wasteland. We came in for a late lunch after touring Antelope. I'm from NYC and am very picky about where I eat. Service was on point and it was refreshing to have a meal that was not slathered in cheese or sauce to give it flavor. The Rosemary Gimlet was refreshing on a warm day, the steak was perfectly cooked and my husband's ancient grain risotto was also excellent. There are tons of gluten free options clearly labeled on the menu including a delicious flourless chocolate cake. Of course this isn't a $20 meal, but you get what you pay for. read more

It was raining in Page that day when we decided to take a seat in this bar/restaurant with a wonderful view of Lake Powell. Everything started well: staff is good, we order our food, they bring us our drinks, etc. But it got worse after the main course. When we finished our plates the waitress brought us directly the check, without asking if we wanted a desert. We felt like they wanted us out of here... So we told her we wanted a desert and we ordered it. After we finished our great Nutella Cheesecake she brought the check, again. However, she had written us a sweet message on the check: TIPS ARE NOT INCLUDED with the tip suggestions circled three times to be sure that we read the message. I hate it when waiters do that in the US. It pisses me off big time. We know that we need to tip. And usually I put 15 to 20%. Because of that, dear Rebeka, you got less than 15%. And I would have put 10% but I changed my mind... You deserved no tip for doing that. You started at four stars and now you end up at two. Otherwise the food is good and not so expensive. This little bar-restaurant tucked away in Lake Powell Resorts is perfect for a casual but romantic first date, and its usually free while the neighboring Rainbow Room might be booked. The food was pleasantly simple but flavorful. I really enjoyed my Grilled Chicken Club - made with lots of quality meats and ingredients. The boyfriend was pleased with his burger. Their fruity drinks are so good!!! Only tried 3 but it doesn't seem you can go wrong with any of the menu selections. Desert Sky / Labyrinth Lemonade / Mojito yum. The location and view are the highlight of this bar/restaurant. We stopped in for lunch recently, hoping to eat in the main dining room (Rainbow Room) because we had heard that the view was really nice. The view is great from giant windows, however, the dining room was not open for lunch and we had to settle for the adjacent lounge. The view was still pretty good through smaller windows that look out over the pool. Service was also pretty good and so was the food. They have mix of upscale/healthy selections and standard bar fare. Overall, we had a really nice lunch with an oustanding view of Lake Powell and the surrounding mountains. Positives: Outstanding view of Lake Powell and surrounding mountains, pretty good food with upscale/healthy/fresh options. Definitely go for the view! Negatives: You have to pay the NRA entrace fee (we had grandparents with senior lifetime passes, so no problem for us). read more
