The place is huge, but we were seated and served very quickly. The seating isn't the comfiest but there is plenty. Long tables, hug bar, arcade games, and a merch area. We ordered a couple beers (the pickle beer was legit), the carnivore pizza, and the cheese curds. All really good. The self serve water and soda is convenient too. Now our second visit made me love this place. The reunion was 30 family members on two house boats on Powell for a week. We had to preload those boats and by the time that chaos was done, us 'youngins' were beat and needed drinks and food. Sadly, we showed up at 8p, the kitchen was closed, and they close at 830p. But, we were able to order a round, sit on the patio, AND they let us deliver food to eat out there! We would have loved to eat their food but for them to be that flexible was awesome. We'll definitely visit again, next time we're in town.

Service was good, the beer was solid, and the cocktails hit the mark. There is one couple finishing up and my friend and I in the place. She asked about drinks and I ordered a soda. When I looked at the menu, I realized that the flat Mountain Dew was costing $5. They did replace it and it was fizzy the 2nd time. It was served in a plastic cup....there were condiment holders on the tables....the fast food restaurant kind with sugar and ketchup packets in it. No salt or pepper. We ordered pretty dang expensive food. Now we are the only ones there so you would assume it would be piping hot and fresh. I can tell you it was the worst burger I have had in a long time!! It was supposed to be 1/2 lb. (Not that I wanted it but that was all they had) and it was smaller than a McDonald's quarter pounder. The cheese wasn't melted. Mushrooms were cold. VERY disappointing. Taste was not good. Needless to say mine is going home to chickens. My friend got the fish and chips. Same weird white fries. And meat that looked kind of like chicken fried steak....we think it was fish. They had no tartar sauce so brought a giant dish of Italian dressing. Hers was also barely warm. Drinks were never topped off. The one girls working ( she may have been the cook too?) was friendly enough and polite. She was the best thing the place had going for it. Save your money and get that $19 burger and white fries down the street. Heck even fast food is served hot. Too bad. The atmosphere could be fabulous. We didn't have dinner reservations 4:30 at the Lodge Dining Room, so when it let up a little mid-afternoon, we decided to make a run for it and have a few drinks at the Roughrider Saloon before dinner. The bar has a little character to it, and was very busy the afternoon we went....probably because of the rain. They only had one bartender when we were there, and she only had one speed, so it took a while to get our drinks. When we did, we were lucky enough to find a table (there are probably 8 or so), and sat there for a while watching college football while we enjoyed our drinks. We also watched the bartender and noticed that she did not smile...not once. Oh well, we still enjoyed ourselves, and killed a few hours until our dinner reservation.

Located within Yavapai Lodge in Grand Canyon Village, my partner and I stopped at this establishment for lunch in June. Yavapai Tavern is a casual, charming stone-accented watering hole offering a selection of regional craft beers, specialty cocktails, and a limited pub-grub menu. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. Basically, one orders food at one of the registers, gets a table number, pays the bill, and leaves an optional tip. We decided on the American burgers, one with Provolone cheese and another with American cheese, including an optional side of house-made potato salad or macaroni salad. Our meal was absolutely delicious, cooked perfectly, and full of flavor. However, the wait for food was long. Prices were affordable, especially considering the location inside the park. The staff was helpful when asked directly. This place also seemed to be less crowded than most other restaurants. While there weren't views of the Grand Canyon from the restaurant itself, the atmosphere still contributed to a nice dining experience.

Set your expectations. $80 for a burger, tacos from the appetizer menu, 1 can of beer (no glass offered) and a glass of "large sized wine - which was a typical pour). Just know this isn't a fine dining it's a place when you're hungry after a big hike and anything will suffice. Next time I'd just go to the market, buy some beer a bottle of wine and make a charcuterie board.
