The hostess was warm and inviting and we were seated promptly without a reservation - Thursday about 5:30. Our server was exceptional- she discussed different menu options and assisted us in selecting a bottle of wine. The dinner salad with Italian dressing was bright and tasty - perfect intro to my steak entree - which was cooked to perfection (blue). My husband had the chicken Parmesan and broccoli and he said many times throughout the meal -'this is awesome'. Our experience was 5 stars and we will be back ! I just wish I could remember our server's name as she was such a rock star - so cool, knowledgeable and on point. We were here for dinner on a Thursday night, arrived 5 mins before 6pm, the lady told us we could order the early bird special which offers you a pasta of your choice with a small salad for 15 dollar. We jump on that, also ordered sausage and veggie add on, and they have so many choices for dessert, i eventually choose the apple thing they made in house. The guy serve us is good but he forgot to serve us the salad, and we were eating the pasta directly, we don't mind as we were hungry. The Apple dessert is great! read more

On our last night in Page, we decided to check out local Italian restaurant, Bonkers. We arrived around dinner time on a Saturday and were pleasantly surprised to be seated right away. We thought we would have to wait a bit. The space is warm, welcoming, and a has that small town feel to it. The staff was also warm and welcoming. We ordered the following: Complimentary house rolls Blacked ahi tuna $15 Fried ravioli $12 Baby back ribs $28 Swordfish steak $30 Tomato-basil cream pasta $14 with blackened chicken $8 I found it interesting that they had blackened ahi tuna and baby back ribs on the menu, but the food was delicious! The portions were generous, and we ate every bit of it. What we couldn't finish, our 17-year old teenager finished for us. As a pescatarian, I was very pleased with the variety of seafood options. Walking in I wasn't sure what to expect but the boy was I surprised. I think our servers name was rusty (long black hair and excellent server) who was great! We ordered the blackened ahi per his recommendation and he was absolutely on point. Real wasabi on tasty little morsels of flavor that was perfectly seared. Even when we drove up, it looked so modest, I almost said, let's go to the Distillery a few doors down, but we decided to take a gamble on this humble place with a wacky name. Food was INCREDIBLE!!! Even the kids Mac and cheese that my daughter had was one of the best Mac's I've ever tried. The steak on my steak salad was better than $200pp steak houses in my home town. Best Italian food I've had in a while. We will definitely go back when we are in the area. The blackened chicken stole the show. Truly an amazing meal, my wife got chicken piccata which was out of this world, we are from Rhode Island. Which has really good Italian cooking ,the meal was second to none, truly amazing pop of flavor, plenty of food she actually had to have a to go bag because she couldn't finish it, portions were perfect, I had beef tenderloins over linguine with a gorgonzola, feta cream sauce which was out of this world with a balsamic reduction drizzled over the top of the beef medallions that were cooked to absolute perfection. We went to the restaurant at 4pm restaurant was empty and we requested little big table because we usually order alot, but that is okay But experience got worse when we had 5 pound puppy that is service dog . The owner was really not polite and made us feel like we did something really wrong. Never go back to this bad service place. read more

After our experience, we now understand the name. We went bonkers over our meal with my two sons. While we had come off three days of backcountry, we tried to keep it in check realizing any non freeze-dried meal would be good. But this place was truly next level in quality, service and chef's attention to detail. We had as good of a meal as Steak 44 in Phoenix, but about 1/3 the price. We had the Ahi tuna starter (perfect), steak and lobster, rib eye and blackened Salmon pasta. They all hit the mark, perfectly prepared with great service to boot. We couldn't have asked for more and can't wait for our next visit to Page to go back again. Even the tiramisu was in authentic Italian form. Stopped in here for dinner on our way to Antelope Canyon. Kat served us. She was very friendly and happy - great server. It is an Italian restaurant but they had just gotten a new grill for steaks. I thought why not let's see and it ended up being I had one of the best filets I've ever had. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. It was very good. I was not expecting much but was very pleasantly surprised. My husband had the early bird pasta with blackened chicken and he was very happy too. They had probably 12 choices for dessert. They both came with garlic bread. They had desserts display and we tried the churro lava cake that though wasn't flowing, tasted nice. Don't judge this book by its cover!!! Came to this place to have dinner and from the appearance, we thought it was going to be a disaster.... Well, glad not!!! First of all, service by Havana was impeccable... she did amazing and that kicked off the good vibe. Ambiance, the place was packed. As for food, we both had steaks mine with mashed potatoes and wife with a side of marinara pasta. They were both on the quite good side, the mashed potatoes were incredible... the meat was ok, the knifes, please change them... they tear the meat instead of cutting it. My husband ordered a $48 filet mignon medium it came out so rare the inside was still cold. We had to track down our waiter Daniel when he came back it was like a hockey puck they overcooked it. He should have stayed to see how it was and if it was ok. Clearly he didn't care and didn't want to know. They weren't busy either we were his only table. When he delivered my dinner he reached over the table to hand to me so I had to take it from him as he warns me it's hot instead of coming around the table and placing it in front of me. Fantastic food. Ordered the chicken picattia and the flavor was fantastic. We have only found bland food in AZ but this place has good flavor. Now be careful on reading the menu. My chicken piccata doesn't automatically come with pasta. You have to order the pasta as your side. When I asked the waitress about this, she said it's a common misconception. It would be nice if they mentioned this if it's a common mistake. Also, my children ordered spaghetti, and after the menus were taken, one of my children decided they want meatballs instead of meat sauce. We were unaware until we got the check that the meatballs are adult only and not on the children's menu and we were charged almost twice the price for the same portion price. After a long day of exploring, my wife and I decided to give this place a shot after seeing some relatively decent reviews. We should of paid more attention to the negative ones after what we experienced. We were sat relatively quickly, however, they didn't communicate that there was a new table (there was maybe 5 other tables there and plenty of servers) and we didn't get anyone to even give us water until 15-20 minutes after we were shown our table. Once the server came over, she was extremely apologetic and on top of it. Beyond her service, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. We ordered the fried ravioli as a starter. It tasted like they took the mozzarella string cheese and deep fried it. I will say them including marinara sauce and alfredo sauce was a nice touch. For dinner we had ordered the carbonara with blackened chicken and the blackened salmon fettuccine. They simply used the alfredo sauce for the carbonara pasta, which is wrong (I know they used the alfredo sauce because they gave us that for a dipping sauce). The sauce was extremely plain and lacked any real taste. I will give them a positive, the chicken was seasoned quite well. The salmon fettuccine was one of the worst prepared dishes I have ever seen. When they brought the plate out, you couldn't see the salmon at all due to a huge pile of diced tomatoes and spinach. You had to move said pile to simply see the salmon. I can tell you exactly what they did, they cooked the diced tomatoes that come from a can from a supermarket with the spinach. They dumped the entire can and spinach on top of the salmon. That then made the pasta extremely watery. As we were leaving I saw another gentlemen who had ordered the same thing moving the same mess to see his salmon. To pay $100 after tip, I was extremely disappointed. It wasn't worth it at all. The only reason this place got a star was because of the server doing as much as she could to help us after the initial mix up. read more

A friend recommended we stop here for dinner. Honestly, if we hadn't received the recommendation, we wouldn't have probably chosen this place--based on the name. The name, Bonkers, isn't reflective of the fact it is Italian. It's a smaller place, friendly staff. The usual Italian fare is on the menu, along with wines, as well as gluten free pasta options. I ordered Chicken marsala and my companion ordered a salad. My meal was a little salty--given the pricing and upper scale style of dining and menu options, I expected a ltitle more taste, less salt, so that was disappointing, but it was still fairly decent.
