Breakfast was fast and tasted great here. Bacon was full slices and nice and crispy. The server was exceptional and friendly.

Seat yourself establishments and they are quick to the table once you pick your spot. Our server was very friendly. I had the country fried steak breakfast. They use real cube steak and hand bread it. Top notch! Biscuits are good, French toast is legit. All around great place. Best breakfast I've had in Lubbock. Not as flashy as some places meaning the menu is more basic than a lot of "brunch" type places but I'd eat here over them any day. I've hit many of the top yelp places in Lubbock and again this tops the chart imo.

Today the 806 Burger Tour had lunch at the Rain Cafe on 50th. We split their Green Chili Cheese Burger and Fries. Let me say right at the outset that the Waitress and staff were as good as we've had in the 18+ months we've been doing this! Friendly, polite and helpful. They actually cut the burger in two and served two plates with a generous portion of fries! The atmosphere was very welcoming as well. It almost smelled like rain in the dinning room! We will go back to enjoy other options on the menu as they serve breakfast all day and I love breakfast as much as I like a good Cheeseburger! The fries were really good. Crisp on the outside and hot and tasty on the inside. They had a unique seasoning on them that I really enjoyed. As I stated earlier, we shared the Green Chili Cheese Burger. This has pretty much become my go to burger and I blame one JT who 25 years ago preached the gospel of the New Mexico Green Chili! The burger was really good as well. The single patty was charred well and very juicy, the veggies were as fresh as can be. A generous portion of green chili added a blast of flavor. It came with Swiss Cheese which was a little different but proved to be a very pleasant addition . We got the single patty burger and it was more than enough for us to share for lunch. Heartier appetites may need to add an appetizer. All in all Rain Cafe proved to be a terrific choice. We give the burger .

food perfectly satisfied our brunch cravings! crusted French toast was very good, exactly what other reviews said to expect. all parts of our various meals were perfect and considering how busy it was we got our food really fast! our service was super sweet as well! loved the homemade/communal ambiance (:

Their menu where they have the nerve to call it a belgian waffle.

*UPDATE: The manager gave me a full refund. Assured me that she was in the process of fixing the situation and making sure their food standards are top quality. My boyfriend and I ordered a few things. All of which were very disappointing. I ordered a Belgian waffle and got what looked like off brand frozen waffles. My bacon was so burned it hurt my teeth. My boyfriend's biscuits and gravy had no flavor. The hash browns were a bit raw and also had no flavor and the toast, well it was bread with the smallest amount of butter possible. This was my first tome ordering from here and it was truly disappointing.

I've been coming to Rain Cafe for the last 6 years. I've tried almost everything on the menu. They keep the taste consistent and the service is A1+. I always wait for the same sweet server who knows my order by memory. It's clean and welcoming. I recommend trying the French Toast, you won't be disappointed!!

I've heard really good things about the brunch here and decided to try it for myself! I ordered biscuits and gravy with sausage and a breakfast burrito to go. Both were decent! Tasted comparable to a quick easy home cooked meal. It was pretty average tasted like store bought tortillas and a basic gravy mix. Not a bad place, but I'll probably eat at home next time!

Overall it comes across as really scammy. I ordered the Aspen Sirloin with a baked potato that was undercooked and paid the extra (Upsale) to have it loaded with 5 strands of cheese, sour cream, bacon and chives. I also had the the green beans which were decent but lukewarm. The steak was an average steak for that price point. Wife had the Sweet and Spicy Salmon and indicated it was really good. Son had a Ribeye that the waitress tried to upscale him on adding the peppercorn sauce. He said he wasn't sure just put it on the side. I told him he would not like it and I also saw it was a $2.50 upsale. I did tell him to add the sautéed mushrooms for the same price (upsale) but when they brought the food they forgot them anyways and I had them remove them from the ticket. He also ordered a Diet Coke which was $3.59 and he was only able to get one refill on it. That is the cost of 6 pack! I ordered a margarita with a $1 upsale for a kicker. My wife had a margarita with the mango flavor upsale. The manager came over to welcome our first time visit and offered to buy us dessert which we said great to as we just ordered a dessert. The bill came and I questioned why we were being charged for the dessert. She indicated the one we ordered was not one we offered for free. If we had been advised it only applied to certain desserts we would have ordered one on that list. We won't be back, it is similar to a Texas Roadhouse but with lower quality of meats.

The parking lot was packed. I had to park kind of near the smelly dumpster and an unsightly view of a trashy lake or pond. So when my daughters and I walked in, we were not greeted. We snaked around the long horizontal pole meant to form a line. The chick at the register did not to be in that position. She was not nice. Did not listen. Was not courteous. It took about 25 minutes for our food to be ready. Your receipt will show the same number that should pop up on the number readers either above the meal counter or in the dining room near a TV. Here's what we ordered: Green chile cheeseburger ($11.49) Cheeseburger mayo only ($10.99) Bacon cheeseburger with ketchup added ($12.99) Large fries ($4.99) Small fried jalapenos ($5.79) 2 regular fountain drinks (2 @ $2.89) The patties were fairly thick. My daughter received several pieces of bacon on her burger. She was happy about that. The green chile was definitely on the very mild side. I loved it, but the juices saturated my burger when I dumped the cup on there. Soggy burgers are not fun. My bad. I didn't count that against them. The fries were really good. The jalapenos had a kick! The Coca Cola was super flat. My daughter let me try it when I was shocked by her admission about it. Lol. The dining rooms can get a bit loud. I could not hear my kids half of the time. Felt like an old timer. But it could have been that we sat between the food counter where you pick up your food tray and the soda fountains. Congested! It was the only table available at the time! Still, the entire staff seemed a bit moody. I did not appreciate that. The restrooms were decently cleaned. Overall, though, I don't think I'll be back.

Red Zone agreed to provide the space for free as long as we ordered food. Which we happily agreed. When we got there and explained who we were, they showed us to a space that was not closed off and there was a great deal of ambient noise as well as that space was not able to accommodate our group without negatively impacted our business meeting nor the other customers in the cafe. When we explained to the 3 waitresses that we were promised the larger and more secluded room, their response was "well, we gave it to another group. If you don't like it, you can leave..." My wife and I were stunned. Never have we been so disrespected by someone in a customer service position. Needless to say, we won't be back. And my wife was a loyal customer for decades! Not only did you lose a 20 person table that would have provided a LOT of revenue and tips, we will ABSOLUTELY make sure everyone we know, hears about how awful Red Zone Cafe treats customers and groups. I highly encourage people to stay FAR away from this business. They are not even remotely customer friendly. You need to do better! Have the day you deserve!
