I've always been an "it's the little things" kind of person, but today what was a seemingly small thing felt really big in my heart. I decided to eat a good breakfast while getting some major admin work done and went to Chicken Run. I ordered the Hiker's Benedict since I was specifically craving Eggs Benedict. But being neurosparkly has its challenges that show up in the weirdest ways. While I have a very open palate and can be a total foodie, I can get very weirded out by textures. So when my meal came with all of the toppings chopped up into small cubes, I simply couldn't enjoy it. The waitress asked about it, and I told her it's my own weirdness and not to worry about it. They still took the meal off even though I fully planned to pay. I don't share this so that people will abuse their kindness, but so that people will know that this is a business with heart. At a time when I'm feeling like especially sensitive about being too much, this little thing meant so much to me. I will absolutely return here. Thank you, Chicken Run - Lubbock. I loved the Parisian Benedict! I would eat it again. The coffee was fresh and delicious. The service was nice and friendly. My non-breakfast loving husband wasn't totally impressed with his burrito. He thought it had to many eggs and not enough chicken friend steak. But I would highly recommend. read more

This was our first visit to Chicken Run and it was good but not really memorable. We were seated promptly. Service was very friendly and pretty fast. My son ordered a club sandwich that came out 3-5 minutes after the omelettes we ordered. It's one of my pet peeves when restaurants don't serve everyone at nearly the same time..but the wait for his sandwich was not horrible. Our omelettes were good. The club sandwich was just ok. We did order a cinnamon iced coffee and it was very good . Again-nothing bad, just nothing to write home about.! read more

The butter with my breakfast was really good. I was hoping that the waffle was better but it was leaning on the drier side so it definitely needed the butter. Service was great as they checked in with me and let me know that my grits was on the way before I asked when it was coming. There are a few places of seating with tables and booths along with a room for more seating which I'm guessing is a room for bigger parties which I really liked for the privacy of it if I ever wanted to host a birthday party or an event in. I've been here before, good for bfast next to Texas Tech. I tried the chicken and waffles - waffles more like Belgium style not Waffle House. The chicken could be much better. This has become one of our favorite places for breakfast/ brunch. The food is always good. The atmosphere is cute & comfortable. The service is friendly and efficient. It can be very busy on weekends but more relaxed on weekdays. Unfortunately they are only open until 2:00pm. We would love to see what they could do with dinner & dessert. read more

My family all had vouchers through a program they use, for a free lunch combo from here. We came on a Friday for lunch and were seated right away. Because of the name, I was expecting a fried chicken joint that you order from the counter. That was not at all the case. This is a sit down, country diner type restaurant, with a super friendly vibe. The service was very quick and very attentive. While the menu was still serving Breakfast, we all ordered lunch. They each got the combo since the that's what their voucher was for (either soup and a half sandwich or salad and a half sandwich). I had the club sandwich and it was served with a choice of side and I chose the ranch potatoes. I loved the Club. The bread was fresh yet nicely griddled for a crunch, with good quality lettuce and tomatoes and plenty of turkey, ham, and bacon. Those ranch potatoes were super tasty, too. Mom got a good sized salad with her 1/2 Reuben and my brother had broccoli and cheese soup with his Turkey sando. They both said they'd be back, for sure and I'm guaranteed to crave that club before too long. I'll make them bring me back on my next trip. read more

Simple and decent breakfast, nothing extraordinary or exceptional. A local place that makes egg dishes in all shapes and forms; omelettes, poached, anything made to order. English muffins come cold and pre-buttered and greasy, so if you are trying to be health-conscious it makes you seem "extra" and "high maintenance" to ask for requests that are quite normal. Coffee is alright; bottomless coffee. No espresso drinks, which would elevate the establishment to also offer drinks like cappuccinos or lattes. Overal 4/10. Just not my taste. read more

We have driven by Chicken Run many times, but finally got a chance to stop and eat a couple of weeks ago. Wait time on Saturday was fairly short, and the staff was very friendly. Large menu with a lot of options. Ended up going with their breakfast burrito, and it did not disappoint. Very good, fresh, and flavorful. We ordered several different items, and all were great. Friendly atmosphere that was hopping on a Saturday morning. Wait staff was very friendly and helpful. Lots of college students for a late breakfast a few families present. Food was good. I had the biscuits and gravy with eggs. The gravy was tasty although the temp was a bit cooler than I would have liked. But....it was all about THE POTATOES! While visiting the family down in Lubbock Texas, we decided to go ahead and have breakfast at chicken run. Upon arriving, there was a little bit of a wait maybe just because we had a large party of nine. The host and manager were so accommodating. I went ahead and ordered the waffle with strawberries and banana Combo which include scrambled eggs, sausage, or bacon, but I ended up grabbing both. Our server was very polite and provided great service. The food was really good as everybody enjoyed their plates. The place itself is pretty small, but pretty busy as well which is always a good thing and that talks good about the business, I definitely recommend their breakfast. We were in town for the Tech homecoming game, and in looking for a place for breakfast, we fully expected to find crowded restaurants and long waits. When we got here, we were shown to a table right away which was a very pleasant surprise. The Costa Rica chicken and avocado omelet was delicious and packed with protein. Not a lot of parking, long wait (but it's family weekend at Texas Tech, so that's to be expected), and a family friendly atmosphere. Outside seating is also available but only three tables available. The food was really good except for getting a specialty item that wasn't made according to the description...and the server disappeared for awhile and didn't check on us, so we couldn't even address the issue until everyone else had eaten. Don't understand how this place has 4.5 stars, honestly just feel like a bunch of old boomers come here to drink coffee. If you want to only drink coffee it's $3.20 for bottomless coffee. The ambiance and atmosphere is nice, but the food tasted like hotel food. A great place to eat breakfast in Lubbock. It is convenient for us to ride our e-bikes there. Parking for cars can be a little tight due to small businesses in the area. The food is fresh, well presented and the menu is extensive. I love the Avocado toast. My husband likes the "Cambridge Skillet." We have never ordered anything we did not like. The restaurant is comfortable and spacious. The bathrooms were very clean. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Our waitress today was Loreli. She was very attentive and super friendly. First time giving this brunch spot in Lubbock a try. Somewhat cozier than an IHOP, but had the same general feel and honestly not as good tasting and I'm not even an IHOP fan. If you're looking for a cute brunch spot then this place isn't it. 2005 decor style, old carpet, not great when it comes to atmosphere probably needs an update. Food average maybe below average. Our server was amazing here, we had to rush to an appointment and she got right on it and immediately took our order and got it out to us in 5 minutes or less. Our food was great with sizable portions. I ordered the crab cake Benedict and my eggs came overdone, I told the waitress and she immediately went to fix it.
