My experience at Chicken Run was I might say the most flawed 5 star experience I've had. The atmosphere of the place was great, cozy but not excessively so. The service was kind but very delayed in terms of speed, i know brunch places are notoriously slow, but that is no excuse for hiring more people. However as always the most important aspect is food. The breakfast burrito I got was excellent, a little heavy on the egg, but delicious nonetheless. They didn't have a humongous oversized one like most places do, but instead had a decently large one with most of the plate comprised of ranch potatoes. I would normally have an issue with this, but their ranch potatoes were worth being the mainstay of the plate, very well made. They also have the glass pitcher for the table which apparently is more common than I thought, great for convenience, meh on aesthetics. I ordered the avocado toast and the apple cinnamon pancake. Firstly, this is a cute and quaint place in LUBBOCK, TX. I did not expect to have too much seasonings or salt on my dish and was accurate in my assumptions. To keep this post short and sweet(unlike the pancake), I will say that I ordered fried eggs and they came out covered in... Water and butter? Idk. It definitely threw me for a loop. This is a great lunch spot. I had the half turkey sandwich/Cobb salad. My wife had the crab cake eggs Benedict and my son had the chocolate chip pancake. Everything tasted great and they have really good prices. My son ate his entire pancake and it wasn't small. My only real complaint was they were out of soap in the bathroom. What a great breakfast spot! I loved the menu, lots of great healthy options not just your run of the mill unhealthy breakfast joint. I enjoyed the Hiker's Benedict which had asparagus, mushrooms and even came with mixed greens on the side. I came here with my husband after a patient of mine recommended the place! I'm glad we did because it was a very pleasant experience! I ordered the eggs Benedict and changed the side of greens for ranch seasoned or styled potatoes and my husband got the Texas Skillet with a side of sausage.
