Good food for the price. Lots of choices and delightful waitstaff. Can't wait to try out the lunch/dinner menu!

Good food and good service. Recommend for sure. The food is price is reasonable and they have decent sized potions

This is absolutely my favorite breakfast place in Lubbock!! We found it when I moved closer to campus and it has become our only place to get breakfast. My roommate and I always get the same thing (and it's always amazing): the crusted French toast!! It's literally amazing. We were going to start whole 30 so we went to get French toast 2 days in a row before!! The service is always good too (especially James!) read more

Rain cafe is the best breakfast in town. They have absolutely nailed every item on the menu. From breakfast to lunch you can't go wrong with rain. Personally I can't stay away from the breakfast. If you're not sure want to get, try the Rain breakfast and substitute your bread for French toast. If you like orange juice you have to get it here. Freshly squeezed? I usually drink it all in one sip. Rain cafe is Lubbock hot spot that you must try! read more

Get here early on Sunday's. I have never had a bad experience here. I have read others reviews and come to the conclusion that they are the type of people you can never satisfy anywhere. This is a chill place with good breakfast and nice servers. We always enjoy the experience. read more

This is a mom & pop type restaurant. Nothing fancy. But, good food at a great price. Healthy portions. They also have a daily special That being said, they went through a short period when things weren't so good. But, they remodeled and replaced several of their staff. They also revamped their menu. Things have really improved. The negative reviews probably happened during that time. Things are great now! read more

The food is to die for. The cheese sticks rival the famous Spanky's staple. Order is always correct and delicous. The service is attentive and timely.the prices are fair. Again, the food is amazing. I highly reccommend the ceusted french toast with bacon. read more

Showed up, waited for more than 30 minutes. Finally got seated and then the lady in the front shoved my friend out of her chair and told us we couldn't sit there. The lady was really rude read more

Awesome food. Our waiter was attentive. Place is simple and clean. Prices are reasonable. Had the chicken fried steak...good. Wife had the breaded French toast.....very good. read more

Don't have any comments on the food because we never got any, we sat down, got our coffee and were ignored for 25 minutes. We decided just to leave, very disappointed as we were first time customers and looking forward to trying the food. read more

The French toast melts in your mouth! The staff is also very friendly! Love coming here!

This cafe is a nice option to the big breakfast chains. I really enjoyed the Crusted French Toast which didn't need syrup. Eggs and bacon cooked well. Fresh juice. The only negative was the service was a bit slow but I cut the guy a break since the place was packed. read more

So, my husband and I were up early today and decided at random to try this place..I ordered a burrito to go. My husband picked it up and when he got home cut it on half and there was a hair in the middle! I work restaurant, I know this kind of stuff happens unfortunately, I called the restaurant and let them know only for the Mgr. (Of all people) to turn it around on me! All I wanted was a hairless breakfast..is that so much to ask? Manager was extremely rude and offered no apology, and wouldn't get me another unless I dug the last burrito out of my trash and brought it back??!! Disgusting. My 1st and last time here..shame. read more

This is our go to place. Best breakfast in town. Lunch is good too. Best wait staff as well. Nicer restaurants should send servers here for training (Cheddar's). Left Cheddar's after 1.5 hours with no food. Came here and ate within 30 minutes. read more

May favorite place to get breakfast in Lubbock. If you go try the French toast. It's to die for!!!

Came here for breakfast with 4 others on Memorial Day. The service was a little slow, and you have to seat yourself, so some tables weren't cleaned yet to sit down. I'm not sure if it was the Memorial Day rush or not, but the service overall to get coffee, food, etc was also a bit on the slow side. However, the food was delicious. I got the panko crusted French toast and it was great -- highly recommend. They also have huge burritos as well that are definitely worth the price. read more

I give this place 3 stars because it's an average cafe. The waitstaff was very friendly and prompt. I ordered the hamburger on croissant, and it was really good. I had the home made potato chips and those were also really good. If the hamburger patty would have been freshly prepared instead of pre manufactured and the home made chips would have come straight out of the frier I would have no reservation about giving this cafe 4 stars. Overall, good lunch at a good price. read more

Terrible service. My order came out wrong, our server was rude and had to ask us all multiple times what our orders were. She was consistently confused and that was somehow our fault. We got sat immediately, but were there for over 1.5 hours - probably 20 minutes of that spent eating. I was so ready to leave that when she brought the check I immediately handed her my card and she looked at it and walked away without taking it. The paying process alone had to have taken nearly 40 minutes. The hostess, blonde long hair, was also so rude. Didn't see her smile once, took a chair from our table without saying a word, and when I had to ask her for a drink refill bc our server was nowhere to be found, she forgot and continued doing other things. Despite all of this, there was no apologies from anyone about anything. Very disappointing. And my food was not impressive, either. I know they're a smaller local business, and I work for one as well so I always try to support others and give them the benefit of the doubt, but it was just ridiculous. read more

Crowded but the server were on third toes. Good coffee that they kept topped off. Very reasonably priced and good food. I would definitely go agaon! read more

I love the food. It's one of my favorite restaurants to eat at. The new flooring and paint on the walls really makes the place look nice. It's a busy Sunday mourning I know. That being said I just had the worst encounter I think I have ever had at a restaurant. I order food over the phone. I go and pick it up. I confirm with the person who gives me the food that the order is correct. She says yes I pay. I drive home I get home and open my food to find they put chicken fried chicken instead of chicken fried steak. Not a problem . I call rain cafe red headed lady I have delt with many of times answers the phone. I explain I just order food picked it up got home and it's chicken fried chicken and not chicken fried steak. She says I order chicken fried chicken and not steak. And that if want chicken fired steak I should order it . ( I have never order the chicken fried chicken there) I say well can I get it replaced and she says I will have to look at the food. So I drive back bring my whole order in. She sees me enter turns around and walks away. A different lady ask if I need help I say yes ( explain situation to her) she takes the food and starts opening it up. The red head lady now comes over looks at the food tells the chef to start cooking a chicken fried steak he offers one that's already been cooked she says no cook a new one. So I wait for the new one to be cooked. She puts it in hands it to the nice lay and walks away. Doesn't say sorry doesn't look at me doesn't gesture nothing. So now I have a warm chicken fried steak with cold eggs cold hash brows and cold French toast. I was not offered anything for my wait not told hey this one is on us. I have the receipt it says chicken fried steak. So what she said on the phone was a lie. I can't believe this is how they treat people. The nice lady who helped me said sorry at the end and just that alone might make me come back. But if you treat customers like they are worthless and are never right then I don't think how good your food is or how nice it looks is going to change the way I feel about your staff. Please please please talk to your manger about her behavior. She can't be rude to everyone, I saw the lady in change come out when I was there stare at me walk over check the food the walk back inside I assume she doesn't know this is how people are treated at her restaurant. read more

Simply the freshest food I have eaten. Truly home made. Desserts are NOT home made however. Just eat the wonderful, main meals. Try the chicken fried chicken. Yum! They even have vegetables. At there prices I can eat out at least 5 times per week. Either the other negative reviews are scams, or this restaurant has had a major turnaround. It rocks! read more

This is a nice family atmosphere cafe. Dropped in to have lunch with fellow workers we ordered the 8ounce sirloin it was very tasty and tender they have changed their menu up fresh squeezed orange juice you can watch as they prepare it after lunch we decided to try their homemade desserts the cake we had was french vanilla ,we had homemade coconut pie these desserts were the best we had tasted and i told the waitress so we will definitely be back read more

Food is ok... But the service sucks. Took my water to refill it and kept it for half my meal. The adult chicken strips are a joke. It was kids meal size and the chicken was obviously frozen processed strips. Not impressed. The chicken fried steak was good, but lacking gravy. When we asked for more gravy, we were not told, but charged $2 for it. For about a quarter of a cup. Won't be back. read more

We went for Sunday brunch the day after Tech graduation. The place was full so service was a little slow, but everyone was friendly and it was worth the minor wait. The omelets were delish and those biscuits...!! We ordered extra biscuits. We have a new favorite in Lubbock for breakfast! read more

Sometimes good, sometimes not so good. Guality changes from day to day. If you order carry out and they tell you 10 minutes, after 5 times going there for carry out, wait 25 minutes before showing up because you will sit for 10-15 minutes. The staff is friendly, but ultimately do not care. 3 stars is being kind. read more

We love the food at Rain Cafe and frequented this restaurant. However, after a few incidents with same rude waitress, we stopped going. The food is great and the restaurant is very clean! read more
