Ordered chicken teriyaki bowl. The rice, broccoli, and chicken were cold. I know rice cooks quickly, but it wasn't warm when I got it.

We keep giving this place a try BUT lord no more. $50 for 3 ppl we could've went to Lbbk and got a good fresh meal. The chicken fry steak was still red and raw... lord had to throw it in the skillet and finish it lol and then the fries were so soggy and greasy we didn't eat those. I have tried them more than a few times and SDG is great. I love the Mexican Stuffed Potato is terrific, burgers a very good and so are the sweet potato fries. Everyone should stop in and try them out. Update: 30Apr20 Since I have been 'sheltering in place' these last couple of months and SDG is very close to my house I have been calling in lots of orders for the Turkey, bacon, & avocado wrap with sweet potato fries and a 44 sprite. Food is NEVER consistently done. From totally burned fries to medium burned and now 1/2 size wraps. I just can not believe a cook would plate such food items! This place was an unexpected gem! We fed a family of 6 for $67 and everyone got full (even the teenage boys!) My husband & son loved the cheesy steak sandwich with mushrooms and the other boys scarfed down the catfish. My little one had a spaghetti kids meal for a shocking $4 and I had a jacked up spud. Listen- these baked potatoes are somehow the most perfect combination of fluffy and delicious. The best I've ever had. I also love their giant garden salad but it's not on the menu online so I have to call to order it which is a tiny bit annoying. Every potato myself or friends have tried have been fantastic. The servers are friendly and always willing to make things right if an error occurs. Plenty of inside seating. The only reason I docked a star is because my salad has had extra ingredients I didn't order and that don't come on it more than once. We were super excited to try a different place. Everyone was super friendly and we were greeted as soon as we walked through the door. We liked the idea of a loaded potato, however it just wasn't executed properly. Both our potatoes were a little undercooked which was no big deal. But the chicken chunks just didn't go with the potato. They were not fresh and definitely ver seasoned. The avocado was amazing though. First time here. I had the California Club wrap (regular fries) and my friend had the Cheesy Steak sandwich (sweet potato fries). We also splurged on some fried pickles to start. Pickles came out crisp, and had what I consider to be the perfect amount of breading/batter. My wrap was fresh, not too heavy and tasted awesome. My friend devoured their steak sandwich. I have seen this place several times, but never stopped to check it out. Popped in today for some fried catfish. The meal was delivered to my table hot and fresh with a nice helping of crispy, hot fries , hush puppies and delicious cole slaw. One of the first places my family tried since moving from Los Angles. Real culture shock adjusting so the name really stuck out to us, so why not. First the workers were really helpful with the menu and guiding me and my wife to the ins and outs, secondly *please insert the phrase (Everything is bigger in Texas) here, the potato huge and delicious. Crazy variety of foods to choose from as well as Teas. Absolutely let down by this location. My family and I love Something Different in Portales and Clovis, so we decided to visit the one in Lubbock having nothing but high expectations. We ordered online and went to pick it up through the drive thru. It was $20.10. Waited in line for 45 minutes for TWO SALADS. We went inside to figure out why it was taking an unnecessary amount of time for our meals. They apologized and "gave us our money back" on a gift card. It's been a couple weeks since this incident so we went for dinner at the portales location and attempted to use the gift card they gave us. THERE WAS ONLY FIVE DOLLARS ON IT. Very very disappointed and will not visit again or recommend to anyone. If you really want Something Different Grill, drive to a different location!!! read more

The name says it all. The menu reads as if the owners couldn't decide what kind of food they wanted to sell. Definitely appealing to many different tastes. I've yet to find a restaurant that has such a diversified menu able to be successful at executing each menu item any better than what exists in those restaurants that focus on individual food genres. If you're looking for a nice lunch I highly recommend Something Different Grill. The service was friendly and fast plus the prices were pretty cheap! We had the chicken club wrap with fries, a kids spaghetti and an order of fried Zucchini. The fried zucchini with jalapeño ranch was probably my favorite thing that we had!
