$3 schooners of beer before 7:00 PM? In a frosted glass? Yes Please. They have great happy hour options and a new appetizer menu. I wish more people would come here and enjoy it's sweet and simplistic charm. The walls are made with actual oyster shells and the lighting is so warm and fuzzy. The waitress was very attentive, helpful and pleasant. There was a group of about 10 people next to us that come every Wednesday. They were super friendly and nice too! The whole atmosphere had a lovely small town feel. Aside from all the lovely things about the atmosphere and staff the food was so great! I got the fried catfish basket. It came with the red potato side and they were so crispy and piping hot! The catfish tasted perfectly sliced and hot. The breading was phenomenal. I will be coming back when I crave this soon. My husband got the crab cake stuffed catfish. It came with my same potatos and he chose fried okra as his second side. YUM. Everything tasted so fresh and steaming hot. I love this little dive and will return very soon.

This place is super cool the staff is beyond amazing from the manager Chris and bar staff James , Cybill and the Jenn's made me feel like family.

Best Bloody Mary I've ever had! The bartender Jaime only works Sunday, so be sure to come in then. Good oysters and a friendly vibe too!

Great oyster bar, small, dark, more of a bar than a restaurant but food is great! We love the place

First, if you're craving Texas cooking in a dive bar atmosphere with beaucoup boob toob screens on…read morethe walls, this is the only place in Lubbock for you. There are other places--Caprock Cafe, Cujo's, etc.--that are somewhat similar to The Spoon, but the food here absolutely blows those other guys outta the water. The pizza may be the best in Lubbock. If you're a fan of the old Pizza Inn pizza, you'll love this stuff because it's based upon the same recipe. The wings are also excellent although I wish they'd offer an extremely hot sauce option. Cheese sticks are also top notch. As for the chili, the flavor is very good and the spice level is just high enough to make it interesting but not so high as to scare off Yankees and Californians. Problem is, it's fairly fatty. They need to grind their own beef and thereby control for fat. The service is decent. Neither great nor bad although certainly cordial enough. As for the atmosphere, it's pretty good so long as they're playing classic country through the sound system. However, there have been times when rap blasts from the kitchen and that's a deal-breaker. It absolutely doesn't belong here. In the last analysis, if you want an authentic slice of Lubbock and West Texas with some outstanding chow at a reasonable price, The Spoon is where you need to be.

Love this place in general. Nice price for drinks, super friendly and quick bartenders. My only…read morecomplaint is there is one bouncer who has been absolutely terrible every time I've gone. While I was trying to set up before the bands started to sell stuff at our table, I had a miscommunication with my friend. I stopped and was standing next to the bouncers while trying to figure out if they had begun setting up and where exactly I needed to go. The bouncer with the braid asked if I was with the band, I said "No, I'm with" before I was loudly cut off and told to get out until the doors opened. He did not let me explain my confusion and that I was supposed to be on a list. Any time I spoke, he talked over me until I finally had to almost yell what my problem was. He told me I could make the call outside and I went to do so and saw my friend, so I started walking towards her. They yelled "HEY" at me, so I responded "WHAT" in kind. I was kinda rude but hey, don't interrupt me for no reason in the first place. The guy kept repeating that he didn't have to let me in so I told him that was fine and I would leave. The other bouncers asked for my ID and tried to start putting a band on me while he ran his mouth. Eventually I asked him if I was going to be let in or not, and he said nothing and looked down. If this was one time, I wouldn't be posting this review. But every interaction I've had with this ONE bouncer has been like this. I get that you need to protect the band and cant let random people walk around, but to not let a customer even explain their confusion, while standing RIGHT NEXT to you and not moving any further into the back room is wild. I'd love to keep spending money here but honestly, how can I feel safe when the bouncer has the maturity of a 14 year old? The other ones are great. Super respectful and I always see them checking to make sure things are okay in the shows. Not sure why this one guy feels the need to be so aggressive.
