Chicken Club (chicken breast, arugula, tomato, bacon, green goddess dressing, focaccia bread) and side Market Green salad
Bella C.

Conveniently located right by the Waterfront Station entrance by the 95 bus, Railtown Cafe has been my stop for food before I head to class. The cafe is ALWAYS packed with a ton of people for good reason. The ingredients here are fresh and they have an open kitchen concept as you can see the chefs making salad and sandwiches in front of you. Personally the chicken club sandwich is my favourite sandwich from them as their focaccia bread is made in house and so fluffy and crispy and the chicken breast is moist and there's a ton of arugula in the sandwich. The sandwich is HUGE and very filling and definitely worth $12. The sandwich and soup came to be $16 before tax which isn't bad considering they make everything fresh and use fresh quality ingredients. Definitely a great stop if you're about to head into the bus or Canada line and are feeling hungry.

Fun atmosphere. Great food. Tastey coffee. Not a problem with anything! I had the bacon Egger sandwhich and enjoyed an Americano. Lunch looked like a good menu as well but didn't have a chance to try!

We tried the summer set menu which was delicious and alright value for this kind of thing. The duck had an amazing jus, but I think the heirloom tomato burrata stole the show for me with extremely flavorful tomatoes of various varieties. I'd come back to try future set menus.

One thing noticeable about this restaurant is the lacking of plates. They used majority of their plates to serve the food on. However the food were served as finger foods and we were expected to hold our food in our hand. Somewhat strange. They also ran out of glasses during the party. The bartender couldn't even keep up with our drinks. Anyways other than the above. The event was a great event. I got the opportunity to try all four of their mocktails: - Blueberry Basil Lemonade - Mango Lavender Lemonade - Minty-Berry Sour - Pear Lavender Sour All their drinks were very fancy prepared and my favorite are the Minty-Berry Sour and the Blueberry Basil Lemonade. I also found that there is some inconsistency in the glass they serve it out of. The food was delicious as mentioned before. My favorite out of their finger foods were the grill cheese brisket. OMG that was really good. The other memorable items are the porkbelly and fried chicken. I think the fried chicken is one of their popular items on the menu served during brunch. The cheesecake at the end I got was very soft but flavorful. The cheeseburger slider was really good too. Overall I really enjoyed the food. The atmosphere and decor of the place was nice. The restaurant is very small. Because we were over 100 people, there was a wait for the 3 stalls in the bathroom. There was not enough tables and chairs for everyone to sit. I think the restaurant can comfortably maybe accommodate around 40 or 50 guests max. I will definitely be back again someday to try their brunch menu.

According to the website, this chain is named after the owner's golden retriever. It sure looks happy. Parking is available in front of the building, as well as along various village side streets. The inside is nice and modern. Funky looking speaker system (it's functional) in the corner. Great view of the water. There are also a couple of outdoor tables to the E of the building. Staff are friendly and cheerful. No complaints. The doughnuts are a bit pricey but they sure are delicious. I really like "Asian" style doughnuts as they are less sweet than their western counterparts. I had the matcha cream and could definitely taste the matcha. Will be trying their other locations at some point. Recommended.

Very Disappointing. The Golden Retriever Logo was cute though.

I was told latte was pretty good. Lemon loaf was solid. My matcha latte was very creamy texture and sweetness was just right . Scone was just ok. I really loved their roof top patio! We could enjoy the water view and it was really nice and relaxing. They also offer burgers next to coffee shop. It was a nice coffee shop to stop before heading to whistler or Squamish.

Seating ranges from bar table, picnic benches, lawn chairs, and small tables. We waited about 25 to 30 mins for our food, which felt on the long side of things. The bun was soft and moist. The burger itself was good, but nothing special. Their marshmallow latte just tasted like regular coffee with sweetener. We expected toasted marshmallow on top of the actual drink, so we were left disappointed. Something that I found to be inconvenient was that you had to order your burger at one section and order your drink at another. Making clients line up twice is an inconvenience. One upside is that they have dog friendly seating.
