I'll begin this by saying that I believe credit is due when and where it is due. In other words, I don't take this matter lightly. In this case, the Sales Department is lacking in several areas; I'll discuss further in a moment. I'll also add that a large part of this review is my personal reflection over the course of two encounters, regarding the purchase of a performance vehicle during the COVID-19 shutdown. Item#1: Laxidasicial attitudes - This is the first dealership where I've had to seek out a salesperson. The first day, I walked the lot for five to ten minutes then wandered inside to find everyone sitting at their desks. I grant you that this was at about 4:00 pm, two hours before close, but in my eyes, if I'm (literally) the only customer you have, that's enough time to get things rolling. The second day, I sat on the tailgate of my truck, waiting for someone to engage me. After a group of managers walked past, someone finally asked if I'd been helped. Item#2: When I indicated that I was a government employee, with a stable paycheck and willing to negotiate either a trade-in or cash-up-front, I was met with... shall we say, little more than a scoff? When I returned the next day, mentioning that I'd be willing to lease the vehicle, I audible HEARD the sales managers talking about me, saying, "Don't offer him that," and "No - That's the bottom line." Once again, I was the ONLY customer on the sales floor. Also, when it's quiet, the acoustics within the semicircular glass showroom is perfect to hear everything, if you're near the apex of the wall/windows (or corners). Item#3: Online inventory review from RacewayFord.com indicated that the particular stock number (20X***) I had selected was in already preselected by the manufacturer for $1500 "Ford Retail Credit Bonus Cash", $750 "Retail Customer Cash" and because I am a paramedic, $500" Ford Military Appreciation/First Responder Credit. None of this was offered during the sale negotiation, the first day. NONE OF IT! (It was not applicable the second day when we discussed a lease option.) I knew I would qualify for a generous APR on Ford Motor Credit, due to my credit history and verifiable income, but out-of-the-gate, I had already done my research and knew what the retail suggested price ($27,210.00) was going to be. When I was quoted (without a trade) at 31K, without a seconds hesitation to introduce the incentive program into the mix, I got the sneaking suspicion that they just didn't want to sell a car that day... Item#4: Directly by a door is the employee smoking area, which opens into the salesfloor. Two employees, one of whom was from parts, were taking their smoke breaks within the direct line-of-sight of the customer. I've no opinion on smoking, but perhaps for the brand imagery, this should be a concern for management. Perhaps a lot of this should be a concern for management. Item# 5: Maybe it was close to closing time - maybe it was just the back-office managers, but when the statement, "Looks like you're sleeping here tonight [salesman]," was introduced into the open conversation - my spidey senses got a little more intense. Sales staff are people - junior or not. I prefer not to support organizations who harass (jokingly or otherwise) their staff members. It's a matter of professionalism. Summary: I returned the next day, thinking that a good night's rest and some time to reflect would produce a better result. It didn't. Instead, I was passed off to another salesman, who openly asked me questions like, "How are you going to pay for the down payment today? Cash? Credit Card? Well, what TYPE of credit card?" (Does that matter? Liability is incurred between the cardholder and card-provider, not the individual merchant when it comes to credit cards. Call that strike one.) "It's gonna be a minute - they're having to rework some stuff." (Excuse me? I was already in the system and approved. There's nothing to rework with Ford Financial. Strike two.) And finally, when I stood up and told him to call me when he got the numbers, he asked, "Where are YOU going? I'm not going to call YOU." (Cool bro... don't call me. Strike three - I'm out.) This leads me to ask, why was I treated this way? Is it because I'm a single father? Perhaps it's because I'm a veteran, in my thirties, or worse, was this a racial matter? I can't help but think that all of this boils down to the fact that, because I walked in with a beat-up truck, my son, and wearing gym shorts, it was apparent to the sales staff that I don't, "look like I can afford" the vehicle I intended to buy. I have dealt with Raceway for many years even before when they were Campus Ford in Riverside. I have always been satisfied with their sales and service until now. I had my 2006 F-250 in for an intermittent engine shut off. They diagnosed fuel pump problem and said that was the problem. Not. Took it back in and they informed me that the PCM was bad and would fix it. Still it was not the problem. Then I got it back and the radiator blew less than 100 yards from the dealership. Temp did not register on the gage because of an electronic problem. Anyway after almost 7 months of being in their service department they found out that it was a wiring harness that was the problem all along. So all in all I was charged roughly around 7,000.00$. The repair for the wiring was quoted at 3,200$ and the radiator they said would be 1,300$ Wich I have no problem paying for. I really do disagree with having to pay for repairs and parts that did not solve the problem that I initially brought my vehicle in for especially when they said it would rectify the problem. I have spent a lot of money throughout the years with repairs on my other vehicles and even bought several vehicles from them, but after this they have lost my business. And yes I will still purchase more Ford vehicles. Just not at a dealership like this that just pushes parts to the customer until the problem is fixed. Oh yes, they did give me discounts on the repairs that didn't do the fix, but I still had to pay for those things that didn't work even with the discount. read more

The BEST car buying experience that I have ever had after buying personal cars for the past 28 YEARS. I have always done my homework before I buy a car so I am a well prepared buyer. Here is what I look for in a good dealership: 1.Professional staff that know their product and treat you with respect. 2.Salesperson that is upfront and doesn't make empty promises. 3. Competitive pricing along with regional market trends. 4. No Games or stall tactics. Upon walking into the show room I met Phil, he was very professional and knew his inventory. This saved me a lot of time. (PRIOR to heading to Raceway Ford I visited another dealer where I spent 30 minutes just waiting for the sales staff to find the keys to the vehicle that they could not find. And this is after I had e-mailed them 3 hours ahead of time that I was coming and what I was seeing.) Phil instantly knew the price, options, and service history of the vehicle that I wanted to see (which was impressive because they have a large inventory of cars), he also asked what I was looking for in case there was something else that might be of interest to me. After checking out the vehicle I gave him my registration to my trade in and my keys. While on the test drive my trade in was appraised. The vehicle was in great condition and I told him that I was interested. Some dealers use time to their advantage by letting you sit there for hours waiting for trade in value and price of the vehicle. Within 15 minutes of arriving from the test drive they gave me their best price, no wasting time playing games but straight forward and to the point. They were competitive on my trade in which I had previously had appraised by auto trader market places trade in offer. Within 5 minutes after that, they gave me their finance options which was also competitive with my bank. I met Fidel at the Finance office while they conducted final checks on the car that I chosen, which involved Phil and he made sure that the vehicle was to my satisfaction. Johnny in the service department spent time to explain what maintenance I will have to perform in the future. Overall the product was great and I am happy with the vehicle. Would I drive four hours again round trip to purchase a car from Raceway Ford, YES no doubt about it. The great staff from Sales, Finance, and Service Department were fantastic, and they worked together as a team to create a great car buying experience. My tip to anyone is to set up an appointment ahead of time, do your research on the vehicle that you are looking at, and KNOW what the market value of your trade in and the vehicle that you are looking at is. Engine Check Light came on late Friday night. Had to slowly drive and drop my truck off at Raceway Ford. I called early on Saturday morning, and they had all ready started checking on the problem. They came to find something wrong with throttle body. Alan Leno called me at 9 AM with a reasonable estimate, and the part they had in stock. The work was complete by noon, and under the estimate received. Yup the got my 5 stars. They also found 2 recalls, and if I could leave my truck till Monday, they can take care of it. Otherwise make an appointment and it could be done in a few hours. Can not expect more that good kind service, final price under the expected, and getting this all done on a Saturday to boot. Yes I will be returning to see Alan to get the recalls complete on my next trip out with some spare time. Being treated kindly and taking care of my problem goes a long way. read more

The service department here is terrible!! They had my truck for 3 weeks and said they couldn't find the issue. They said they did a few test drives and called the ford tech line and were advised ford is aware of this issue but they can't resolve it because they don't know what the problem is. When they gave my truck back to me the document showed they didn't put any miles on it but looking at the intake form compared to the current miles on the truck there was a 700 mile discrepancy!!! Calling them to talk to a manager is like pulling teeth. I even left a voice mail for the GM do you think I got a call back from him (OF COURSE NOT)!! When the service manager finally called me back all he could say was I can't find the original intake form when I find it I'll call you back with an update as it may be an error with how it was put in the system. It's already been over a week and still no update!!! After picking up my truck I took it over to Fritts Ford guess what, they found the problem the same day I dropped it off. Having to call multiple dealership's parts department this morning for parts seemed to be an impossible task this morning. I cannot fathom the amount of lazy people that aren't willing to put any extra effort into helping a customer with parts. I mean it's only their jobs to do so right?? Having called Hemborg, Sunrise, and Fritts I thought to myself how can this be? But failure is never an option for me. Determined to find a dealership with hard working people finally paid off. I called Raceway Ford and met Chris Vogt their parts Guru. He took the time to gather the list of parts that seemed impossible for other people to get. He also crossed referenced my parts list just to make sure that he had me squared away. That's what I call attention to detail. Being an Army veteran I can appreciate the hard work and this man's dedication to his work. Raceway is around 20 miles away from where I live, but for service like this I'll drive there often from now on. The other dealerships need to take note of how customer service pays off when I'm paying over $1,400 in parts. Hard workers like Chris get the job done in one call. Needless to say it was pretty sad that the other Ford Dealerships couldn't measure up to customer service that counts. This dealership has done very little to help me. My catalytic converter went out on my 2015 Ford F2 50 and I was only a month and a half out of my warranty for my five year or my 100,000 mile. I was under 100,000 warranty by 6000 miles. I called Ford directly and they filed the claim To see if they could help me out because these vehicles should standby they're built Ford tough motto, and not go out right over the five year marker. Ford told me to follow up with Raceway Ford. I spoke to Dan, the service manager there and he wanted to know about my customer Loyalty, which I only had a few services there on my truck but I Also specified that I had bought my wife's Ford explore And we get her oil changes and all of her service done at Fritts Ford, so we do have a relationship and loyalty to Frits ford. I went over a week and the service manager Dan said they would either contact me or forward directly would contact me. Do not get serviced at this location! I towed my Ford Focus to this site on July 25 because it kept shutting off while driving. I was told it wouldn't be looked at until the 26th because their techs were busy. I understood and left it there. On the 26th I was told it had been fixed so I paid and picked it up. On the 28th, my car shut off again meaning the issue had never been fixed. Since it was after the service department closed, I waited until the 29th to tow my car there. I was again told my car wouldn't be looked at until August 1 and that I was going to be charged for another diagnostic despite the issue never being fixed. It is now August 25 and I still don't have my car back. Whenever I would call, I would get vague answers and extended times on when my car would be fixed. I figured I was purposely being treated like an annoying woman and asked a male family member to call for me. Lo and behold he was able to get more information in one day than I did in weeks. They admitted to calling an 800 number to figure out what the issue was. They have replaced 3 parts at this point and still don't know if it will fix anything. On August 23, I was told the last part needed had came in and a tech was going to install it. I called later that day twice for an update and got a voicemail both times. Yesterday I received a call saying the exact same thing but this time that the tech wouldn't be able to work on my car until today August 25. Despite feeling like my car should be priority for how long it's been in their shop, I have tried to be patient but at this point I'm incredibly frustrated. I need my property back and I'm disappointed at the level of unprofessionalism. They can't even guarantee me that this new part will fix my car! I was always apprehensive about looking for a vehicle at a dealer. You always expect to go in with all defenses up, ready to haggle. I had to trade in a Toyota yaris and I didn't think I would get much for it because dealers are notorious for not wanting to give you a fair amount for your vehicle. That was not the case at Raceway Ford. I scheduled a meeting with Clifford Arthur and he had all three vehicles we were interested in waiting out front to test drive. He was extremely knowledgeable about the cars and was interested in our family's needs with a newborn. He was dealing with another customer at the same time as us, but was able to give both guests ample attention and we never felt like we were waiting for long. The financing was incredible. There were so many discounts and credits with Raceway that even though I was upsidedown on my trade in, it was completely negated. This review is specifically for the service dept. I had a check engine light come on in my 2018 Mustang GT and reached out to Jim to get it addressed. Jim asked me a few questions including whether the car is acting "normal" and I told him that it is and there's nothing unusual going on besides the light itself. He, then, gave me the soonest available appointment date which was only 2 days away (I was honestly thinking I'd be looking at 2 weeks because that's what the dealer by my house always told me with my previous car). I told him it works for me and I would bring the vehicle in early morning. I got there exactly at opening time and, again, spoke with Jim who had me sign the usual paperwork and asked me if I needed a ride anywhere. I told him I wanted to wait to see what it is so I stuck around. I got a call an hour and 15 minutes later (the dealer by my house normally took twice as long just to do an oil change on my old Focus ST) and Jim told me the car was ready. What a nice surprise! Best part, after they reprogrammed the ECU/PCM the transmission feels much smoother shifting. If I'm in the area again, this dealership is definitely going to be my go-to place for service read more

Been meaning to write this review for a while now, so anyway here goes. I was travelling from San Diego to San Bernardino in our Ford Explorer, when engine felt like it was misfiring. I nursed it over to Raceway Ford and rented a car while they worked on it. The prognosis was that there was a broken valve spring and the recommendation was a new engine for $5,000. When I asked about just repairing the spring, I was told that the upper engine would have to be overhauled and that would require that the engine be removed. While some people may fall victim to this sort of tactic, I knew better. An overhaul of the upper engine doesn't require the engine to be removed, just the heads. I provided Raceway Ford with three quotes that I got from a Ford dealership in San Diego and two others from non affiliated mechanics. Only that convinced the Service Department to change the quote to a lower more reasonable price. However, I still paid $500 more than the highest of the three other quotes that I got. Avoid the service department at all costs. If you car breaksdown, have it towed how ever many hundreds of miles you need, in the end it will be cheaper. read more
