You should have busses on Sunday limited but service. I know a lot of places that would use it... like you all though

I am a tad arrogant, having access to the some of the best cuisine by living close to San Francisco. Now to be fair, their price point reflects what you see sitting on the plate before you. The service is polite. Ambiance is fun. I ran around in these train cars as a child while vacationing with family 30 years ago. My advice would be, go with what works. The previous owner had it going on, knew the territory so to speak. This place has "warning Will Robbinson" all over it, like sushi in Kansas. A tuckered out Fly Fisherman would prefer a great steak and baked potato. No shame in that, it is the pillar of American dining. If I want foo-foo, I will go to SFO. But then again, I think the food in Paris is "OK", (specifically their entrees) Paris has great bread, crackers and cheese. Alright, pastry, baguets, and fromage. All the offerings in Italy are amazing and the only thing to eat in the UK are chippies. The best "foo foo food" was Betlenut Pan-Asian on Union Street in San Francisco. Lost their lease however. THAT was the bom-d-idly. Hey if you want a fabulous steak, try Jacks in DT Redding. Great place, but you will wait an hour, maybe two. But it is worth the wait. Has an interesting provenance, the location and building itself, was a house of ill repute back in the FDR days, so the legend goes. Cafe Maddalena in Dunsmuir is excellent as well. This faux fusion/euro/cubano/too cool to be true... might make 2 years max. It is the epitome of "The fastest way to make a small fortune, out of a large fortune is to start a restaurant." Inherited money, I can smell it burning in the kitchen.

All I can say is it MUST have new owners as it was charming! It's a smaller, older hotel but rooms have been completely redone. Meticulously clean with comfortable beds and cute decor. The location was directly across the street from two coffee/cafe places and the one we tried (the coffee place) was fabulous! We also noted a few other restaurants and a brewery all within walking distance. Great location! So, overall, the price was good, staff very friendly, it was clean and comfortable and the location great!

Childish evaluations full of arrogance and pity. Most of what they say is true but I guarantee you these people are ones that were raised inadequately by poor parental figures that now live their adult lives in a quiet anger that on occasion flares up and is inflicted upon to others in a sorry attempt to share with the world their sad devastating pain. I am not one of these people. Upon first entry of the establishment I found the small elderly Indian proprietary figure behind the desk to be quite charming. He not only afforded us a room with three beds (a rare commodity in this day and age!) but gave us an impeccable deal. Our interaction was brief, but in our short conversation he regaled us with tales of his childhood growing up in the foothills of the Nepalese Mountains. Descriptions so eloquent so delightful, his demeanor so engaging I felt as if I had known this man my whole life. It was as if I had been transported in space and time, the hot Indian sun radiating upon my cheeks, the sweet layered aroma of cumin and coriander wafting through the leaves of the banyan tree, the distant gleeful laughter of the white cheeked Macaque. This was a man of class I shall not soon forget. The room was beyond expectation. Reviewers complaints of lodging thick with stench of mildew and cigarette smoke did not do this place justice. I found the aroma to be of a deep musky fragrance one full of character full of life. Stories upon stories, generations upon generations were inhaled deeply into my nostrils. I felt my body come alive all at once. "I feel a tingle!" I declared. The walls, like tapestries. Beautifully decorated by hand, paintings of thick green foliage. A serene tree scape, I sometimes forgot we were indoors. I seemed to forgot I was even on this planet. "Is this heaven?" I found myself saying out loud. My bunkmates chuckled in agreement this truly was an unworldly experience we were sharing. Joyful and awestruck as we were we were also still quite tired and swift deliberations were made upon sleeping arrangements. "Goodnight to all" we said in unison. And as i lay upon the mattress and drifted into sleep a smile crept upon my face. "I like it here friends I truly do. We made the right choice." No reply was heard and a panic stirred jolting me out of bed. But as I came upon my companions I soon saw the reason for their absent reply. For their eyes were closed and their mouths were smiling, dreams of India dancing in their heads. "Teehee" I whispered "teehee". I couldn't recommend a place more.

Not only is the train one of the only ways to see the routes through and over ground semi familiar you have not seen before but it is a safe and fast and comfortable ride. A couple years ago I took a three day ride to Chicago out of San Francisco called the California Zephyr. It was so relaxing and the views so beautiful I got hooked. Now i take a couple rides a year and use the train for bay area day trips or just an overnight ride to Seattle or the like. The staff os always great, never a rude or pushy person have i met in am Amtrak uniform. The seats have a ton of room even in coach even the snacks and drinks are affordable. I travel a-lot it is what i do. Buses trains plains and even the occasional boat. Of them all the train is by far my favorite way to travel. Cars give you freedom the train doesn't but the train is much cheaper and with rides shares and parking fees, gas prices, and traffic, you loose very little mobility and gain so much more in the ease of the trip. That translates to relaxed passengers who are unguarded and happy on board. If you like me enjoy talking to strangers, you gotta take-a weekend trip. Rent a sleeping room or even sleep in the coach seats and by the end of the ride you will be at your destination at the pace a fast car trip, but ready to adventure on the other end. For solid and even great value try Amtrak. It is a very honest and straight forward well run company as well. The employees seem to love their jobs witch means managers do to. It seems as a customer to be a company who gets it from top to bottom. Embracing who they are and what they offer and are perfectly oaky with that. All those moving parts make the rails and Amtrak an American tradition worth connecting to and ensuring your grandchildren get a chance one day with their own grandchildren to take a ride through time and see the land as it was 100 years ago. Support Amtrak and ride the train short trip or long, it is a way to connect to kids to relax and to just be as you rocket through this second to none landscape of our beautiful country. So hit your reset button and spend a weekend with Amtrak, I promise you will not be disappointed even if you don't fall head over heels as I did my first ride and each and everyone since!

It was closed when I got here at 12:30am to catch my 2:20am train, the #11 Coast Starlight to L.A. it was quite and peaceful after the 140 mile drive to get here. There is a security person on duty during the early morning hours at this station. Which sits back off the road a bit and is located between Court and California streets on Yuba, downtown. The parking lot for both short and long term is well lit, patrolled and there is plenty of parking. My vehicle was there for a week just fine. A great little station that's busy in the early morning hours, would have been nice if it was open. 00067
