Here's the crusty towel with pubes

Short back story- While traveling through we decided to stay a night in Shasta . I have been struggling through a cold and my partner being tired, we decided why not stay at a hotel. We stopped and found the Alpine Lodge after finding out a few others were already fully booked... this is also the only reason why we stayed Upon walking into their contrived front desk area to meet a friendly kind woman, we Got a room and some good food info then rushed to dinner. After eating I was exhausted and we decided to hit the hay and hop in the shower. We open up the room ... -it's freezing, -painted yellow -has old thin sheets from the 70's -the floor is like walking on cement with thin stained carpet on top -the bed is extremely uncomfortable with two thin pillows and a wood frame to bruise your head -the TV remote was sticky and dirty - The bathroom is covered in pubic hair and there are no towels that have not already been used. Our towel selection consisted of : -a towel with sharpie on it that didn't even say alpine lodge -a face towel hard and used with pubes still lingering on the shower curtain -To top it all off there was no floor matt in the bathroom All I wanted was a hot shower to help with my cold. I paid good money for that hot shower. Maybe even a bath if I was lucky... only to find this as my result. I told the front desk about my experience and I had to heckle the cheap owner down in price for a discount - (after he tried to kick us out at 8 pm) WHERE ARE WE SUPPOSED TO GO ! IM SICK AND EXHAUSTED! I work hard for the money I make and have cleaned commercial properties previously. He then finally gave us a decent discount on the room (we are only staying a night) yet we still have to stay in this gross room ,sick and bummed out, but now with two clean towels ...still in the pubic hair infected bathroom. Hooray... thanks alpine lodge, I get to live out the rest of my trip in a nightmare .

    * No bathtub drain--I had to stuff the drain with the plastic wrapper from the disposable cups. * Live bug walking beside me while I was bathing in the bath tub * Long black hair in the bathtub * No regular size washcloths * The shampoo packets were impossible to open with wet hands, even using my teeth, so I walked naked and wet through the room, found my LeatherMan tool, and opened the shampoo. * The size of the tiny bars of soap would have been perfect for a 3-feet-tall human. * The lock on my bottom-floor bathroom window was broken, which made me feel insecure staying here. * Bathroom door couldn't be closed all the way * A couple of old broken-down cars and some old 4-wheel-drive ATV's not only made this place look sketchy, but made me wonder if there were long-term residents of this motel who would be less than trustworthy--I had a brand new Harley-Davidson right outside my room that I was worried about. * The sheets looked dirty, but they may have just been old. There were long black hairs under my pillows. This place is the opposite of hospitable, and since THEY obviously don't care, it doesn't inspire confidence. I feel stupid for choosing this place based on price and a very few OLD good Yelp reviews. * The vent control on the A/C was worn out so you didn't know which mode it was in. * Carpet was stained and threadbare and not very clean * No clock * The "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door looked like it had been run over several times by a truck. * The curtains couldn't close all the way because one hook was off the track. It took me about a minute to fixe it. * The TV remote was so dirty it was gross to touch it. * No continental breakfast of any kind. Just the in-room coffee. * The walls were clean and nicely painted and the fixtures (sink, toilet, etc.) were good. * The wi-fi was fast and solid. * This place basically ripped me off. The rooms are JUST OK enough so that a tired guest won't ask for a refund and go find another motel. $69+tax=$79 was at least twice what this place was worth. For $40 total it might have been tolerable. * See below for a glowing review I gave a motel for a similar price in an earlier town on my motorcycle trip! I'm not negative or picky or I would have left the minute I saw the outside of the Alpine Lodge. https://www.yelp.com/biz/downtown-inn-eugene?hrid=ta66tEQsKxUnrIyA7VAhSA&utm_campaign=www_review_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct)

The room was first floor near the stairs and smoking area outside, but that was not a problem at all. The room was clean, towels and bedding were clean and crisp. I liked the welcome note on the bed. That was really sweet of them! The room had a microwave and small fridge w/freezer. There was a small office desk with coffee and ice. Tv, a/c, heater unit. Two things to note: 1. If you use 3 ports to charge at the clock on the nightstand, it uses too much power and one of the electronics needs to be unplugged. There are wall outlets, so you'd need to use those. 2. We didn't have a shower curtain when we arrived. I thought it was one of those modern places where it's just open, but we definitely needed a shower curtain. I felt so bad showering and getting everything wet in the bathroom. Housekeeping was kind to answer quickly and gave us towels to clean up. The fan in the bathroom isn't that effective. I suspect they'll have a mold problem in the future. The light switch to the bathroom is on the outside, which I thought was odd. Other than that, we had a pleasant one night stay. We would stay here again!

The rooms all run along a wooden walkway facing the parking lot. I was notified there would be construction from 9 to 5 which wasn't a problem for me as I was arriving after 5 and leaving before 9. What was a problem was that the parking lot was roped off so you had to park on the outer edges rather than in front of the room, I was in 18. This was a bit of an issue for me as one of the reasons I booked was that just coming off of a knee replacement I wanted a room that I could park directly in front of. If they had disclosed this, I would have gone somewhere else. Secondly, the pillow situation was pretty horrible, old feather pillows which flattened down to nothingness, no support at all. The heating unit was one of those old wall units with a really loud fan, so couldn't keep that on. Hot and cold water difficult to get in shower, so either scald or lukewarm. there was no space to put items above sink on tiny shelf. I would not stay there again.

It was roomy, clean, quiet & comfortable. Three of us shared a 2-bedroom cabin. In 2017 I moved to Weed, and started coming to the restaurant at the resort for special lunches and dinners. The wait staff in the dining room is superb. They always make us feel like family. I sat on the outside deck for lunch last summer, but the wait staff out there was not at all the same. Food was slow coming and the everything was cold when it arrived. At my request, the fries were replaced with hot fries, but we had almost finished our lunch by the time they came. The food in the restaurant has been great without exception. I always ordered the Pork Ragu for dinner until they took it off the menu. I haven't been back for dinner. When I first started eating at the restaurant, one of the waiters told me about their rewards club for locals that I joined. They send me a certificate for $10 off when I have spent a certain amount. I think it's $200 which adds up fast. They also gift me a bottle of champagne every so often. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to use all the coupons quickly enough before they expire.

This is a major sanitation concern. IF the property thoroughly cleans and sanitizes the kitchenware between stays, this chore is an unnecessary burden on paying guests. If they do not reclean them, then the health and safety of incoming guests relies entirely on the honor system and the cleaning habits of previous occupants. It is incredibly unsettling to think the dishes we used may not have been professionally washed or sanitized. The cabin itself clearly got a "landlord special" French doors were stuck and wouldnt open. Had to call maintenance to get them fixed. The refrigerator and cabinet drawers overlap so tightly that opening the fridge makes the drawers to open, and vice versa. The fridge door is already dented, clearly from this problem. The blinds are old, broken, and don't close all the way. So we had to wake up with the sun every morning, spiderwebs in the ceiling corners throughout the cabin. For the price charged to stay here, guests should at least be guaranteed professional cleanliness. Unfortunately, this property missed the mark on all counts.

Small hiccup... the server mentioned she'd have to run across the street to their sister property to grab a wine opener. We didn't want to wait so we just went with the red since it was already open. She also gave us a dinner recommendation that turned out to be a good call. The room was spacious and clean for two people. Good amenities... a safe, a fridge that's bigger than a mini but smaller than a full size, a microwave, and a dinette seating area. The outlets are dated and made keeping a charger plugged in a little frustrating. But the detail that genuinely impressed me... two luggage racks. Sounds small but even higher end hotels usually only give you one. That kind of thoughtfulness adds up. The LOGE was very communicative before the upcoming day to check in. Emails and texts were sent out every day to better improve our stay. Checking in was as simple as getting a four digit code and showing up to your designated room. Upon walking in the room we noticed how clean and welcoming it was. The bathroom was well-maintained and included two showerheads. However, I wish that there was a place in the bathroom to set your toothbrushes, toothpaste, shaver, etc. This did not feel like a hotel at all; It definitely gave me a house-like feel with raised ceilings, a microwave, a refrigerator/freezer, a heater/air conditioner, and even a hammock that drapes over both beds. The TV was quite small but I liked the option of signing in to your streaming accounts like netflix, Disney + etc. They do have other things in the room that you can take, but will be charged at your bill upon check out like a souvenir hat, beanie, blanket and hammock. A wine/bottle opener is also provided in the room. There are snacks in a box along with the drinks in the fridge for purchase as well. They even provided a SHOE DRYING gadget for your wet shoes which helped sooo much as well as a mount for your ski gear. Besides the room being awesome, there is a small café/bar, an office, meeting room, a rental center and a kitchen located in the front for guests to share. Something I really loved about the place is that they have plenty of space for outdoor gatherings! Designated fire pits/ bbq pits are spaced out and located around the LOGE. Speaking of fire pits, they also provide fire wood and s'mores supplies which is a huge bonus! The parking lot is decent, but I can see it getting packed during the busy season so try and get there early! We weren't sure how to check out so we called the front desk and told them our room number and check out time. The LOGE camps is at Avery convenient location up to mount shasta, with a nearby supermarket, gas station and snow gear store. I highly recommend checking out bunny flats for your snow activities! We were traveling with another couple who needed a ground floor room, and while the hotel doesn't have elevators, we were able to swap our second-floor room with theirs at check-in, which worked out fine. However, a few hours later we came back from dinner to find a woman walking into their room... yes, the one they were already staying in. Turns out the front desk mistakenly reassigned the same room to another guest. The staff member on duty (who had also checked us in) didn't seem particularly alarmed by the situation, which was surprising given the seriousness of the mix-up. It made me fear that someone had easily walked into our room too. I had also asked about borrowing some bags for cornhole, which is available in the front play area. The front desk agent wasn't very friendly and reminded me they were closing at 9pm and that there's a noise ordinance. Totally understandable, but it wasn't yet 9 and the activity area had already been shut down. One big heads-up for light sleepers: the inn is located very close to active train tracks. Trains came through several times overnight and the horns were loud. I'd suggest earplugs or choosing a different property if you're sensitive to sound. On a positive note, we were pleasantly surprised to receive a to-go breakfast bag when checking out. It included a pastry, granola bar, yogurt, and bottled water... perfect for our early morning hike up Mt. Shasta. A small recommendation to improve the guest experience: more attentiveness and care in how staff handle guest interactions could go a long way. Something as simple as a friendly tone and accurate room assignment tracking would've made a big difference. It's unclear how the same staff member who checked us all in didn't realize the room was already occupied.

However the clerk which I believe was the owner, was very helpful. After helping me to calm down we worked it through and figured out that my daughter-in-law had actually booked me under her name that's why we cannot find the reservation. The hotel room itself, was clean and comfortable. I will say the rooms are not particularly large. I do have a walker and was not able to enter into the restroom with my walker which made it difficult, nor was there a lot of room between the bed and the microwave / fridge for my walker but that was at least doable. However both the owner and his wife were very helpful and very kind! The wife and I could not figure out how to get the TV on, and one quick call to the husband and it was up and running. Furthermore what impress me the most, was after checking out and getting my taxi to the Greyhound station, the wife came running up to me. She had left the hotel and followed me to the Greyhound station, explaining that I had left my medication in the fridge along with my phone cord. She went above and beyond and I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody.
