VERY clean room and bathroom! The towels and linens were so clean and smelled amazing, like freshly-done laundry! The bed was comfy and I enjoyed a very peaceful, relaxing stay. EXCELLENT view of Mt. Shasta from my window. The accommodations were simple but everything I needed: bed, nightstand, desk with chair, TV, microwave, mini fridge. Great water pressure in the shower and the room heater worked nicely, which both felt wonderful after hiking in the snow. All in all, it was a good value for what I paid. And the hosts were so kind and friendly. I would absolutely stay here again! Side-notes: There was no coffee maker in the room, but there are cafes within walking distance. The lodge is near a railroad so there was some train noise (I heard 2 or 3 go by during the 15 hours I was there). No biggie though! I recommend staying here - it will meet your basic lodging needs in a big way on your next adventure! read more

We are a family of six and stayed here for two nights. We had a good experience. Check in was quick, service was friendly, the room was clean and housekeeping did a great job. We will definitely consider staying here again. After checking in you will probably be able to park right outside your room. Our room was recently refreshed with the typical budget materials you would expect for a motel. We had three queen beds to accommodate us. In the room the beds dominated the space, leaving barely any room around a 2 person dining table, a small end table with a small TV, and a small refrigerator with a microwave set atop it. For an overnight, budget stay for a large family this wasn't bad at all. Although a budget option, I still think a recently refreshed room should have a bathroom fan. The parking lot behind our room is elevated above our room. To get air in the bathroom and not feel suffocated by humidity when showering near the end of a six person chain, you'd need to crack open the window which is partly in the shower,, and provide a show. read more

This is a great spot. At the time we were booking it was the first or second least expensive option. It was perfect for us. It was a standard hotel room with 2 queen beds. It has a mini-fridge which came in really handy. We loved being close to town and the mountain. It was super clean, not dingy at all. as a last resort desperate attempt to find a room at 10:30pm Thursday when every other hotel is full, I found the evergreen lodge. and I am delighted to find a very clean, spacious, well appointed room (tv, fridge, microwave, phone) and a nice bathroom . bed was comfortable enough shower water was hot instantly. windows on both sides for cross ventilation. no upstairs neighbor to keep you awake. well lit clean parking lot, and very quiet not near a busy road or interstate. My husband and I were driving to Medford, OR very late and decided to stop and stay over in Mt. Shasta. We found really the first place, which was the Evergreen Lodge and we booked it for $69 a night with two queen beds. The beds were comfortable and absolutely amazing. The place was clean and tidy. It did not have the feel of a grungy hotel. The bathrooms were very nice. Counter space was limited so getting ready in the morning wasn't the best. The shower was my only complaint!! The water sprayed way too hard and hurt. You could not adjust the water pressure or the spray, so the shower was uncomfortable. No continental breakfast. No coffee maker. Yes small fridge. We would definitely stay here again and I would recommend it to others. Needed a room for the night in the Mount Shasta area while on a road trip to Washington state. We called from the car and were able to get a room here. It's a very retro-style motel or what used to be called a motor lodge. It has been well maintained and we were happy to find a comfortable, very clean room with mini fridge and microwave. Bathroom shower had lots of hot water. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a clean place to lay your head while in the area. read more

Pros: It was not dirty. The staff was friendly. Cons: Only had one roll of toilet paper. The place is old and a little rough. The heater is in the main bedroom. So the other bedroom was cold. All in all it is a standard no-frills motel. read more

Awesome find! A simple and comfortable accommodation at a reasonable price. Rooms, beddings, and towels were clean (no stains and no smell). We stayed here on separate dates and cleanliness is a high priority. It has the room amenities of a t.v, refrigerator, microwave and air condition. Room was SO basic, they didn't even have a tea/coffee maker! The 'free wifi' was sketchy at best and was possibly even turned off at night cause I could not connect. Other than that they room was clean. TV was grainy and unwatchable. read more

Stayed the first night next door at the A-1 the second night at Evergreen. Evergreen was $10 less for 2 queens, it was cleaner and just felt more updated - ie paint, bedspreads, single handle shower control and an ice machine that worked. I'd stay here again. I'm not quite sure how this hotel is AAA approved. There is no shampoo in the bathroom which just illustrates the corner cutting that goes on here. The rooms are dated and the beds aren't anything to write your mom about. There are too many hotels available in Mt Shasta to have to stay here. read more

The price is right, so I'm not exactly expecting the Ritz. But it loses one star because the heater didn't keep the room very warm which meant I had to stay in layers in my room which was annoying. It loses one more because they didn't shovel the parking area (or even the driveway entrance) which was a real hassle in my little car. Couldn't find enough review online and the very few review looked alright so we decided to take the chance. The lady was very nice. The room was meh, very strong smell of paint as we entered the room. The room was very tiny, small enough to only fit a queen bed, desk with tv on it, and a side table. Bathroom was super tiny with a small shower stall, tiny sink with no place to put anything else other than your toothbrush and toothpaste. Shower head really could use some replacement, it was difficult to shower as it sprayed into wide direction (no you can't adjust it either) so i can only get some of the water :( There is microwave and fridge in our room in the small kitchenette along with stove and small dining table. Maybe this is for people who live there weekly or monthly? Overall, it's a cheap place to crash but really, I would pay a little more for a better experience. Oh and that Italian place next door... overpriced at best. I'll take Olive Garden anytime for so-so Italian food with overcooked pasta. read more

I was denied my room bcoz I was carrying Emotional Support Animal despite of all legal documents .We were traveling with 2 kids and when we reached after 5 hrs of driving in the middle of the night they refused to give us our room which we had reserved long time back. People who were at the front desk were uncourteous & inhuman. Their action was illegal so think twice before booking this place with family especially with special needs. read more
