My 90 year old mother has needed medical transport for the past few years. The last two transports from Precious Cargo we had to wait nearly an hour and a half to be picked up after calling for the ride home. I had to call multiple times to see how much longer it would be. I was told 10 minutes and it was another 20. This is not acceptable to have to wait that long when the company KNOWS they need to pick up the individual they dropped off within an hour or so. BEWARE!!!!!! BODILY HARM!!!!! My dad ended up with a split open finger and large hospital bill due to "precious" cargo. No help from the workers or owner. Instead I was belittled. We didn't realize we would be helping the company LIFT my mom (the patient) into the house (my dad has Parkinson's and can't lift). Once they got there the driver instructed we were "going to need two people on each side to get her in." Ok....then the driver instructed my dad to put his hand in a certain spot so the driver would be able to lift the hydraulic wheels up. HE PINCHED MY DADS FINGER SO BADLY HE NEEDED MULTIPLE STITCHES. They refuse to refund any amount and have all been terribly rude. When we called the first time in the very beginning, the guy was condescending to my dad because I help with all my dads financial issues (once again, Parkinson's) he made a rude joke and hung up. We should've gotten the point then. When my mom arrived they had her in the back of their hot van with NO AIR CONDITIONING in the back. Just open vents. The lady kept apologizing to my mom. I'm surprised they are still in business. The office staff is the worst I've ever experienced. They don't answer their phone even though recording says they have 24 hour transport from hospital. How are you supposed to get a hold of them? Left messages but no one has returned my call, that was 2 days ago and it's Not the weekend. Precious Cargo - "We treat you like family". Unless you call us about prices first. I was told by the first person that there was a base rate and the rest would be calculated per mileage. When I asked what the base rate and mileage rate are I was transferred. I asked that person the same questions explaining I didn't have an exact location and that I was inquiring for possible future transport. She then tried to quote me a price, mind you without know where they would be going. Considering that it is by mileage I didn't understand how accurate that could possibly be. So I asked again about base and mileage rate. I was then told they don't have a base rate only mileage, I proceeded to ask what the mileage rate would be so that I could calculate future costs before deciding to use their service. Terrible company most of their positive reviews are from employees or family members. They say we treat you like family however if this is how they treat their family it is awful. Waited for my Mom to get picked up from her appointment after 3 calls the office staff were watching tv I can hear it in the background says they never received the phone call. This is a completely terrible company to use. The office staff is terrible and the drivers talk about other drivers along with the owner and how poorly they're paid. One of the drivers smelled like liquor their shirts are always wrinkled and smell like cigarettes. If you want your family member transported by somebody professional don't use this company. Precious Cargo... whatever. They need to remember they are transporting human beings. It was really a major communication error between multiple large agencies, however, Shasta Regional and Interim Hospice called and apologized personally, they were mortified. Precious Cargo and Everything Medical though? Meh... you wouldn't even know PC was delivering people, they could be delivering your latest intimate massager from Amazon. The driver was stuck between a rock and hard place, keeping his job and dealing with me. They were supposed to arrive at 12:30, the bed at noon. When the bed didn't arrive at noon I called Interim who was told it was 20 minutes out. So when my Dad arrived at 12:15 I wasn't too worried. Laying on a gurney in their van in over 100 degree Redding heat... After they were here for 10 minutes the driver was instructed to look for a place in our home to put my dad that we could easily transfer from, that doesn't exist. When that didn't pan out they instructed the driver to return my DYING, confused, father to the hospital, where he did not want to be, and that wouldn't accept him. We of course would be charged for everyone's mistake. At that point I may have had some choice words. Did I mention I had a major orthopedic surgery a few years ago and when transferred to the rehab by PC, they dropped me? That's a different story though. I kept hearing about " their schedule," and "how behind" they were, as my dad rolled around on a gurney mumbling in the van, waiting for his bed to arrive. The poor driver. He just wanted to hide. It's not his fault his company is a money grubbing, flesh peddler. Because of the gross miscommunication between all agencies, my Dad spent more than an hour in that van, and the only thing that finally got PC to stop trying to return my Dad to the hospital (which would have taken them just as long with all the paper work) was that we called our lawyer and started filming. Called Precious Cargo at 5 am to transport my brother to the hospital. He was visiting for the holidays, fell and hurt his leg, couldn't get into my little car. PC arrived promptly and got him to the hospital for a very reasonable cost. Driver was courteous, professional, and caring. Would definitely recommend! read more

My adult daughter is a quadriplegic. I took her to her doctor's appointment. I loaded her up to go home and the van wouldn't start. I had to call Triple AAA. They couldn't fix it and it had to be towed to the shop. I was panicked. I didn't know what I would do because you have to give 24 hour notice if you need a ride with transport companies. The doctors office called a couple places but it was Precious Cargo that said they would come get us. They were awesome. Young Michael was our driver. Great personality, very caring. Precious cargo has atrocious communication. They just neglected to pick up my father for the second time. This time is particularly bad. They called after I booked the ride and left a confirmation message on my answering machine 2 days ago yet claimed they had no record of a scheduled pick up when I called to see where they were today after waiting 35 minutes. This ride is to take my father, who is on hospice, to a restaurant so he and my mother can celebrate their 63 rd and last anniversary together. And precious cargo no showed. Strong work. Had Precious Cargo pickup and drop off my dad from nursing facility on Christmas Day. I am VERY impressed with this company, and especially the professionalism of the driver Ryan B. He was extremely nice and helpful helping dad into the house, which had stairs. Most people would be miserable working on Christmas day, not Ryan. He was very kind and glad to help. Has consistency issues. They say they will call the day before to confirm however this is not always true. You have to be on them yourself to guarantee your ride will be there. Drivers are very consistent and take great time to insure safe transport. read more

I tried calling to schedule them for my father. He is a dialysis patient at one of the centers. They couldn't fit him in unless he was picked up 2 hours prior. The office manager was very rude. I asked to have the owner call me and she told me that would not happen. She isn't local. And she doesn't check in often. Why would you open a business that transports medical patients and not have a more active role. I have spoken to 3 or 4 drivers and they all say they very rarely see the owner. For your safety please find another way to get around town. read more

Drivers seemed nice but a little awkward and rough moving my family member. However, I was threatened to be sent to collections for not agreeing to pay my parents debt after Precious Cargo failed to charge her card at the time of service and for a full 2 weeks prior to her passing. They said the card was declined, yet I have proof there was plenty of money at the time of service and no transactions were attempted. She said I was responsible for my parents debt because I was their advance directive POA.....(JUST FOR HER MEDICAL!!!) Then when I became extremely upset for being threatened so quickly without further educated discussion, I asked to talk to the owner and the girl Jolean refused to connect me with the owner and said I WAS talking to the head person but refused to give me her actual name. I called back in hopes of reaching someone different but was unsuccessful after one call. A different employee proceeded to call my phone, my deceased moms phone then my husbands business phone and all from a private number. The guy who called us had a delayed/slurred speech of some sort and said he was John. How did they get my husbands phone number unless they're stalking us? He said his second job was working for the government and he knew who my husband was and then when I told him thats illegal to use his other job for Precious Cargo business he then said he was a large equipment operator and knew him that way. He said I didn't need to know how Precious Cargo determined or discovered our relationship. Then the same girl called back days later from #530-243-3333 and stated she was the owner Marlene. Girl, the owner is an elderly woman and you're like 20-30. In fact I believe it's her granddaughter. WHAT THE!? who are these people and how old are they? It's like dealing with teenagers! This company came really early to pick up my husband who is double amputee (also have multiple health issues). The driver was told a different time than what we were told. I got my husband outside on time and the driver looked at us and keep on driving away. My husband was devastated. We called the office. We were hung up on several times. Then a few ladies finally talk to us that seemed to care. One promised a driver would come but that person never came. The very next day the same thing happened again with the driver having a different pick up time than what we were told. This driver waited to the right time and took my husband to dialysis. I called the office to resolve these issues. I was hung up on 3x and was threatened to have the police called on me. And I just was asking to talk to a manager. I had to have the dialysis company call. I ended up picking up my husband. We did not trust this company with his safety due to their behaviors. I have been my husband's caregiver for 15yrs and he has rode on transportation company for about 10yrs. We have never been treated this way by any company. We were already dealing with life after being evaluated for weeks due to the Carr fire. My husband & I definitely didn't deserve or needed to be treated this way. No one does. read more

Most recently when my mom had an appointment at her doctor and sprain her back two hours before her appointment. I was stuck cause I knew I could not get her down the steps and in the car. Called Precious Cargo and hour before I was going to leave and they came right out and we made our appointment. Saved my day, same courteous and professional people. read more
