Many, however, transferred to Butte Home Health so the transition has been good. The RN is the most important and crucial, right? We met Pamela for her first visit and it only took minutes to be comfortable again. She is the personification of excellence, and I feel my wife has a concierge doctor/nurse when she is here and an advocate for her health. Today, Butte authorized a portable oxygen machine so that we have some additional options to go out and about. From medication organization and ordering to specific needs, we have appreciated each person, from Shannon, the social worker, to Theresa in PT, Chaplain Hugh, we feel so lucky. If this review can help others, then it is worth the time to have done it. All companies will have similar manuals, but it will always be the people and the human touch that determines their effectiveness. Butte Home Health deserves a huge thank you.

I won't say we didn't have hiccups…read morewith Happy at Home, we had a few personalities that didn't gel with my mother's, or some shopping trips that went south, but Kaliahna and her team were always responsive and quickly corrected any issues. It's important to know that Happy at Home seems, at least from my perspective, to contract out to a handful of trusted people. This means that there is no set structure, except for note taking and check ins. That said, this is a boon in my opinion. My mother had a certain type of person in mind to help her with chores and meals; she in a small way resented needing help and as a result could be quite specific in her needs. Kaliahna would work with us to make sure the right people were there. I worked with Kaliahna all the way from Phoenix, and she was very receptive to the sort of over communication that a son separated from his sick mother is inclined to exercise. Perhaps that's the way to take your bad Happy at Home experience in to a positive one, communicate. Keep lists of tasks for caregivers, tell Happy at Home how you feel about a given caretaker, listen to your intuition and share that intuition. They seem to be good people who care about their business and their clients, so they'll listen.

The grounds are immaculate, both buildings have large, landscaped back yards. My husband, my two dogs and I particularly enjoy sitting on the back porch of the Country Commons building listening to the water bubbling into the birdbath. The staff at the commons are attentive, caring and even loving to all of the residents. They have an efficient "news thread" and weekly staff meetings to facilitate good communications and continuity of care. The food is excellent, healthy, home cooked and filled with foods that feed the brain. The executive staff are all welcoming, accessible and very helpful. The owner is on site, mingles with the residence, her door is always opened and she cares about the residents and her staff that work in their home. When it came time to place my husband there was no question about where he should go. He had been attending the "Country Club" day care program twice a week for about a year, he had also stayed there a few time for respite care when I was out of town. He knew the staff , most of the residents and was comfortable there. He has now been there 10 months, is happy there, well cared for and, in some ways, he is better than he was at home. He recognizes me when I walk in, he didn't know me most of the time at home, he participates in activities and in the daily sit and be fit exercises. He interacts with the staff and with the other residents. It has been a very good experience for both of us. I highly recommend The Country Village.

I go to a lot of these types of places and they are all the same, so far, from what I have seen…read more I'm usually at these various living facilities anywhere from 3:00 to 5 hours and will I like how small this one is with two small houses for probably no more than a dozen residents if that in each house, there are zero engagement. I've been there from morning to afternoon and afternoon to evening and there's no engagement with the staff and the residents Beyond giving them food and very very occasionally bouncing a ball with them. There's no activities, art projects, exercise, just nothing at all. They have a TV on and that is literally it the entire day. The TV usually is at a volume that no one can even hear which is bizarre, since I have perfect hearing and all of the residents probably have to use hearing aids or can't hear it all. What they usually have on would be suitable for grade school children. It's just really strange. Living facilities are immensely expensive and no insurance covers it, so if I was ever going to put a family member in a place like this, they better be engaging the residents, interacting with them at least on an hourly basis, and doing more than just meal prep and getting them to and from the bathroom or their bedrooms. The staff are nice, though the majority are far too young. They seem to hire 18 to maybe 22-year-olds on average which is just strange. I guess cuz they can get away with paying them less? Not really sure.
