I wanted something refreshing to drink after my lunch. R&B tea was very close to the food court. The young lady at the counter was friendly and directed me to use the kiosk if I was using a credit card. They do take cash at the front counter where they will take your order. The small Tea stand was nice and clean and even had a place to sit. I studied the menu and made my selection at the kiosk. I decided to go with the Hawaiian Fruit green tea. It was $7.05 and it only came in a large size. I selected no sweetness and 50% ice. My drink was ready in less than five minutes. Super quick. And it was huge. It came with slices of orang, lemon and lime and chunks of watermelon. As I walked away I took a sip and it was way too sweet. I was shocked because I asked for zero sweetness. I immediately returned to the counter and let her know that it was too sweet for me. She apologized and was very friendly about it. She remade it and it was much better. I really appreciate that she remade with no problem. Overall the tea was just okay. Not the best I've had but it was refreshing. Too bad they don't offer a smaller size. The location is convenient because it's right between the food court and some of the stores in the middle of the walkway.

Hazelnut Milk Tea

Usually when I go to a mall, I get something to eat, but I'm not hungry at the moment. So I decided to get something drink and this place happens to be the one I selected. Looking through the menu, they do have plentiful of options. I wanted to try Hazelnut Milk Tea because I wanted that same flavor from another place, but unfortunately, they don't have that now. I asked for 50% sweetness, and it actually tastes like 100% of it. At least it wasn't too sweet though, but still it didn't meet my expectations. At the same time, it's not really a bad place to come here. Also, the drink became empty really fast because there seems to be too much ice, but I never specified how much ice I want to have. Usually boba places require you to ask about sweetness and ice, but from the kiosk, they're considered optional. If I had to guess, they apply 100% to sweetness and ice by default. When ordering, you can't do it in person since there's a sign that asks us to place an order from a kiosk. I don't recommend coming to this place if you really care about how much sweetness and ice they added. Just make sure that the rest of the ingredients (e.g. boba) is there.

I always walk past this place whenever I am at the mall. You order at the kiosk on the side. I ordered their taro milk tea and brown sugar boba. The drinks were made fairly quick. But the workers here look like they hate their jobs. The worker was very nice to this lady next to me and when he handed me my drinks his smile quickly disappeared and walked away after setting the drinks down. The boba itself was okay. Save your money. There are other boba shops inside the mall.

Ordered a drink on an empty Monday around 1:45pm on the kiosk. A girl was at the front on her phone but had a sign saying to order on the iPad. I ordered and she didn't realized I had ordered until like 3 minutes later then started my drink. She then left the drink and walked away back to her phone with not a single word or acknowledgement the entire time. If that was the case, I wouldn't have tipped nor paid $8 for a mediocre drink when there's plenty of other boba and tea shops. I don't recommend.

The Tea was Refreshing! This was an un-expected tasteful treat! The line for kiosk is long ( High foot traffic when I was here ) but you can always order at the front. Best Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea I have had in a while! The Matcha Storm was an interesting try and was thick like a milk shake! Overall very great, would come again if ever at the Valley Fair Mall. The Menu consists of: Puffle Waffles, Milk Tea, Tea, Stormy, Pure Milk, Yakult, Fresh Fruit Tea, and Cheese Cream!

This was my first time ordering and tasting R&B Tea. I'm not here in the South Bay that often so this is conveniently located right next to the food court. So the stand is at such a great location with a lot of lighting and great foot traffic. R&B Tea is right in the center part of the walkway on the 2nd floor and you really can't miss it!! Perfect eye view and right next to dessert stands as well for pastries to go with their delicious drinks here at R&B Tea. It's super easy to order since they provide 2 kiosk machines to order yourself or you can order at the counter with one of the staff members. The staff is super friendly. They also answered a few questions for me because they were able to confirm doing the least amount allowed for the Yakult drinks as 50% sweetness level. They have plenty of choices such as Yakult drinks, matcha drinks, all type of teas and fruit drinks with other toppings such as bobas, jellied lychee/fruits, Chia seeds, popping bobas and more. I ordered the Honeydew Milk Tea 25% sweet less ice and wow .. super delicious. I can't wait to go grab me another one when I'm back in this area.

I bought a crème brûlée milk tea after my shift and this is the nastiest drink i ever had in my life. tasted like MILK AND WATERRRRR totally unacceptable, but my boyfriend's drink was pretty good. does this look like crème brûlée to you guys?

Brown sugar milk tea

We waited 10 minutes for straight milk and ice with the TINEST amount of brown sugar, and at most 10 boba pearls. This was extremely disappointing and I won't be coming back here again. Drink lacks flavor.

Today I decided I wanted a boba tea. I usually get a good drink from this spot. However today it was pretty busy, understandable, right? However they paused the entire operation to give this girl a refund. I understand if one worker stops making drinks for this, but all of them? No drinks were being given out for at least 15 minutes. When I finally got my drink, it was ass. No ice, when I asked for ice, no sweetness to it, I got 100% sweet. Very upsetting and ruined my immersion.

r&b tea jasmine milk tea

I got a lot of attitude from the worker when i asked to have my drink remade because it was made extremely sweet to the point where I couldnt drink it.

Dragon Mango Green Tea & Strawberry Horchata
Stephanie L.

I decided to try this place out as I've always walk by it. I ordered the strawberry horchata and dragon mango green tea. The dragon mango green tea was very good. I would definitely order that drink again. I never had strawberry horchata before, but I'd definitely say it's pretty unique, tasted like a strawberry churro and was very sweet. The only downside is that the boba was not fresh at all. It was pretty hard as soon as I sipped my drink, which kinda ruins the whole experience. Service was really quick and efficient. As soon as I order on the kiosk, drinks were made less than 5 min, which is awesome.

Brown Rice Milk Tea
Uday M.

Haven't seen a brown rice-based milk tea before so had to try it. Not sure I'd get it again, but it definitely had a unique flavor and was worth trying. Ordering was simple using the kiosks and the wait time was reasonable.

Hawaiian Fruit Green Tea
Michael F.

The drinks were great here, service was there but the staff don't need to interact with anyone. A tad unfortunate even with the self ordering at the pick up side you'd think a thank you for coming see you next time would be in order. It wasn't. It's in the mall, it didn't appear busy.

With some coffees a second cup will give me a stomach ache (especially since I drink my cold brews black and bitter like my soul), but I had no problems with their cold brews! I also got the vegan stonefruit scone (baked by Sweet Dragon) and while a little on the dry side (common with scones), paired extremely well with the coffee and had good flavor. Husband got a cappuccino and a strawberry mini pie and was extremely pleased with his order. The service is friendly, but some things may have been new on the day we went. They almost forgot my cold brew until we asked at the counter, as well as stating that they didn't have anything to heat up my husband's strawberry pie (which seems odd, since a little toaster oven seems like a simple fix for that), but apparently it was fantastic at room temperature anyway. Seating was absolutely full when we got there and we were lucky to snag a table as another couple left, so it seems like a popular Saturday morning spot. Several folks were working on laptops, and it seems like a kid-friendly place. The decor is a clean and modern/trendy industrial style, which works well for the space, and the windows provide nice daylight. Overall, a good coffee shop and I am really happy to see vegan pastry options! My husband is getting into pinball, which was part of the motivation to come out and try Chromatic, so I am sure we'll be back again next time he wants to hit up Slingshot (in the same building), and I look forward to the coffee and treats!

The seating area is quite limited for the large crowd it attracts, making the atmosphere inside feel a bit chaotic at peak times. Fortunately, the baristas are super polite and work fast, keeping the long lines moving efficiently. The coffee menu and the retail bean selection are both impressive. I decided to try a dulce de leche coffee. While I was expecting a strong caramel profile of dulce de leche, the flavor turned out to be fairly subtle rather than prominent. It added a significant sweetness, but without knowing the order beforehand, identifying the exact flavor would have been tough. That said, the coffee itself was still refreshing The high quality of the coffee bean really shone through, delivering a rich aroma and the ideal caffeine kick for a breezy morning. Great coffee beans and fast service make it worth dropping in, even if the indoor seating situation is a bit tight.

Originally, I was planning to order a matcha latte, but one person in our group was craving ice cream while another wanted tapioca. Thankfully, we found the perfect compromise: a matcha soft serve topped with tapioca that managed to satisfy everyone's cravings in a single order. I was pleasantly surprised by how bold the matcha flavor was. It had a rich, authentic matcha taste without feeling overly heavy or bitter, and the soft serve itself was smooth and refreshing. The tapioca was another pleasant surprise. Even sitting on top of the ice cream, the pearls remained wonderfully chewy rather than hardening, which is something I've experienced at other shops. Overall, it was a simple treat that really hit the spot. If you're a matcha lover looking for a refreshing dessert, Cafe Maiko is definitely worth a stop.

I've enjoyed a few of their specialty seasonal drinks but those have never become core menu items. I am talking some really great items like mango matcha's, strawberry matcha's, lavendar latte's etc that I have thoroughly enjoyed but their core menu is not something I ever want to order from. They have really great stuffed croissants but those are also seasonal! My office catered pastries from here once and I still think about the spinach and cheese croissant we had alll the time! I have never seen it in their case though. And while they are really great, ~$8 for a pastry is highway robbery. Parking here is very difficult and I think most people who come here live nearby enough to walk. You gotta hope to get lucky with some street parking as they have no designated parking areas. I've had several odd cashier interactions where I am met with blank stares and no dialogue as I order. Today took the cake, however. When I ordered, the cashier looked at me confused. I picked up their menu and pointed to the item one I wanted. The cashier had to come find me again after placing my order to confirm it again. They have a seasonal chai listed and 'can be made into a pumpkin chai by request.' There was confusion around it coming with a shot of espresso and because my stomach has been completely wrecked since I had it, I think the they must have put two shots into my drink. In the past 5 hours, I've used the restrooms 4 times and eventually projectile vomited. I don't drink coffee often and had this in ONE sitting. I realize this is a unique experience as I do not drink espresso often but wanted to share so you all understand how strong their coffee is and seeing as how its across SCU, it DOES make sense why so many people come here. Upset is the least of what I feel right now and can confidently share I will not be back. Shits fucked up. No pun intended

My experience, after the hell that is trying to park at Santana row when you just want a coffee: I waited 20 min in line because, if I'm going to a cafe, I prefer human interaction to ordering on the app. Got to the window and ordered a regular whole milk latte, only to learn that they were out of cows milk. No sign for customers waiting in line. Kind of an important detail, no? A shrug from the barista that they planned to get more on the weekend?! Maybe I misheard. But... did I want oat milk instead? No.... Mooooooo. I mean boooo. Where my attitude comes from: 1) probably just being an old cranky person but possibly 2) I used to work at a cafe as a barista. If we ran out of milk, we basically ran out of our businesses' entire purpose. Sure mistakes happen when you're anticipating inventory needs. But when you notice the mistake, fix it quickly or you literally are losing business. I'd have gotten a manager to run to the grocery store to grab some milk to get though the day and keep things going. Obviously a large chain can't necessarily do that. I get it. But that is a big flop for a cafe not to have milk. My snobby judgement doesn't stop there. One of the employees who was headed out on break yelled to her coworker that she almost forgot her redbull. It struck me as surprising that a person who works at a top tier coffee chain would be drinking an energy drink and not...coffee? But that is 100% me being snobby and judgmental. It just capped the impression that this specific branch of Blue Bottle doesn't get the integrity of brand. I miss the original one in Oakland.
