This is probably the best Quickly's I have been to! Simply because their popcorn chicken is amazing. Their drinks are a bit on the sweeter side and I am not really a fan of powdered flavored drinks, so I naturally stay away from the drinks. Back in high school, that would be the spot to go to. I LOVE the drinks here. I know people complain about the food but c'mon, think about who's making it. It's not chefs or cooks, it's little college students who just dip food in a personal size (probably bought at Sears) deep fryer so of course it's not going to be AMAZING but a lot of people still order it. Every time I've gone in it's always been pretty slow, I've never had to wait over like 4 minutes. But of course if you go after CVHS, and alll the middle schools in CV get out around 3:30 of course it's gunna be hella busy. read more

The quality of the boba is just okay. But that isn't what makes this place a one star. When I first started going they had froyo. Then they stopped serving that but kept it on their menu. Try telling a two year old he can't have his froyo. Normally when I go, I ask for the small tapioca. Not once have they ever had it. Yesterday was the worst. I recently got into drinking bubble tea..thought I'd check this place out. I was pretty bummed to see they didn't have a huge variety on non caffeinated and not blended milk drinks..but I made a decision and had the girl start my drink. I was curious how they make it..so I watched! Well as I approached the counter I saw what they keep their ice in..a plastic cooler looking thing on their side of the counter..it was in arms reach from me, no sneeze guard..not even a lid!! It was disgusting..you could see the black moldy build up that happens when you don't clean the ice bin correctly on a regular basis..and I'm pretty sure that you aren't supposed to have a plastic container sitting open on the counter holding ice for drinks!! I asked the lady if they've seen how dirty this bin was, she said yes..we clean it. I asked how often do you clean it? But she didn't answer..instead insisted they have another container in the back..uhm..if this is the container that you let customers see..than I don't want to know what the ice in the back looks like! BARF!! I asked for a refund..she offered to remake my drink with the ice in the back, but I declined! She did refund me..and I want to post this so people know how dangerous this is!! You can get SO sick from that! Even if they "clean" the ice bucket..plastic has pores that will hold mold and dirt..I'll have to post the picture I took..it's bad!! read more

However, when ordering snacks, I would like to know how long popcorn chicken would take. Pet peeve: ordering something and not getting a receipt, and not knowing how long it would take.... Customer service is great. Employees are always short with their replies to customers but whatever. The place inside is pretty dirty looking. If you want a rice bowl or any snack on the menu order it like 20 minutes before you actually need it. They take FOREVER to make the food stuff. I've been here a lot and the services are great here. The workers are really cool. the "teeny boppers" seems to be working hard a lot and have very great customer service. I usually get something different each time. I like their food, asked the workers to make my popcorn chicken extra spicy and they did it, gave it to me with a big smile =). Its better than the other quicklys I've been to. Parking here is good. Never had problems finding a spot. The asian girl who works here is so nice, I dropped my food one time and she said its okay and made me a fresh bag. I love this place and recommend it to everyone. read more

When walking into a restaurant called Quickly, you expect your order to be delivered quickly....don't. I have never been to a Quickly before, but when I saw it open in Castro Valley, I thought I would give it a try. I was not impressed at all with the food here. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box Meal. The amount of food for the money was fair, but everything was way overcooked. The rice was closer to mushy rather than sticky. The chicken was completely overcooked. Very dry. There was very little Teriyaki sauce on the chicken, but that could just be preference. The two bright spots on the meal were the salad and the potstickers. I believe the item to purchase at Quickly is their tea drinks. I was checking these out on the menu, but with so many I had no idea where to start. If anyone has a suggestion for one to try first, let me know. I will go back when I know what drink to try. I'm pretty adventurous to try new things, so throw me what you got on the drinks. The young lady taking orders was very friendly and nice. The restaurant appeared to be very clean. EDITED TO ADD: Fellow Yelper shannon I. explains that a boba place isn't supposed to have top notch quality food. I concur with that. There is however no excuse for mushy sticky rice. It's cheap and it goes in rice cooker with no fuss no muss directions. I've had rice sit on my counter in the warm rice cooker for hours with no mushiness. This was just lazy on the part of the shop. For all you boba lovers, this place has quality boba almost on par with teastation! I frequent a lot of boba places, and this one is pretty good. Great drinks and great variety on options (including food). Good stuff: - It's fast (anyone who gets boba on the regular knows sometimes lines can get craaaazy long) - Staff is super polite (they are always so nice :)) - Haven't had an "off" drink yet - Quickly franchises have insane drink variety so yay! (Get Peach Rose tea next time you're in) - Prices are on par with other franchises Meh stuff: - Cash only. Not a huge deal for me, but there are times I would have made a purchase passing through but didn't because getting cash is a hassle. - Closes earlier than other franchises (TapEx has awesome hours) - No frequent-buyer card (Again, TapEx wins here) Other than that, it's a nice local boba place. :) read more

Good place as always but not this morning. Ordered Two Mocha snow and some others, ended up with two avocados instead. I don't order avocados at all and she mention that I ordered one. I have nephews with me and one of my nephew told me that I did order mocha. I ordered another one and I didn't even get the benefit of a doubt that I ordered mocha. I've been here twice. I'll come again only as a last resort. - Milk tea was sub-par. Worse than most Quickly's in the Bay Area! Packaged milk tea can taste better. - Flavored tea tasted like syrup water. No tea flavor whatsoever. + Air-conditioning. Great for hot days. +/- Free Wi-Fi. I had to ask them about it which they then turned on. - Poor customer service. They act like they don't want your money, especially the old Chinese guy. I think I've had better face from the teenage hires they have at the other quickly locations. - Doesn't accept credit cards Average it out to 2 stars for "Meh. I've experienced better." came here after the festival the last week and it was conveniently located about a couple blocks from where the festival was. It was a great refreshing drink on that nice hot day after grubbing on some food truck goods. I ordered the big boy drink.. you the unnecessarily large chubby looking cup and shared it with my girlfriend. Taro slush with boba. Sooo many balls in your mouth! Can you ask for more?! I think not. I come here all the time to get my tapioca fix when I'm in CV. Tapioca express is too far.I always get the milk tea with tapioca. The Basic. It satisfies my cravings until I crave for it again which is all the time. I've never tried a lot of their drinks but the almond & barley milk tea are good options if you're new to these type of drinks. Avocado and mango coconut delight are also good if you want to go fruity.Of course, with tapioca. Sometimes as I wait for my drink, (for Quickly's doesn't really mean quick all the time in this sense) I'd see people pass by with a confused look on their faces wondering what this place is all about. I agree with the out of place comment. I don't think a lot of the people in the area are familiar with boba drinks. I think they should have a "how to order" instructions for the drinks on their lil bulletin board. It must be a little overwhelming for first timers to walk in to gaze at the gigantic menu on the wall. But once you tried some, it's either you love it or hate it. I like the rice plates the popcorn chicken is good, the ground pork over rice with the marinated egg, but the service is super slow.Oh and don't ever get the fried sampler dish, it's pretty tastless. the mini corn dogs are good though. Well all quickly's I've been to are pretty much the same. This castro valley one fits perfectly into the mold of the other quickly's by: 1. Subpar customer service 2. too many menu options that makes you feel that the bento boxes have been in the freezer for at least two years 3. I started to come to this quickly a few weeks ago. Each time the drink I got did not taste very well, and I never finished the drinks. However, a friend of mine came over saturday and she is a fan of bubble tea. I suggested we try this quickly she said the drinks were watered down and worst she ever had. I thought maybe that was just the drink she got. I went there again soon after and the girl made my drinks wrong. I told her to add snow and pearls she added the pearls but not the snow. I asked her to fix it and she said it was too late. I said please add ice and she said no I cannot. I asked to see her manager and the manager said they cannot add ice but I should order another drink. I cannot believe I was treated this way and I don't understand why I could not get ice. I've been to Quickly's a few times mainly because of my oldest daughter and I've come to really enjoy their drinks with tapioca, which is new for me. Last night I tried the chocolate milk with tapioca and its super yummy. My daughter likes the bubble tea with tapioca. So while we enjoy the drinks, customer service is rather lacking, they take only cash (who carries cash on them- have you heard of ATM cards!) and I'm not impressed with their food service. We orderd popcorm chicken and waited about 10 minutes, even though we were the only customers, got all the way home and discoverd the chicked was raw and pink. I paid $4.38 for raw pink chicken- so I drove back to the store told the girl at the counter "you cannot serve raw chicken to people because it can make them sick" and I asked nicely for my money back and she did. But she never apologized, she just kind of stared at me like she didn't understand the problem. ??!!??Hello- eating raw chicken can make you sick!! Train your workers better! I love going to quicklys but this one, their boba was hard and very very chewy, unlike other quicklys. And the servers are stingy w upgrading. We asked to upgrade our drink but they said we cant coz its already made (but it wasnt put in the cups yet). And they kind of gave an attude bout it. I mean dont u wnt ppl to get the upgrade. I come to this particular Quickly when I'm desperate for a milk tea fix. Quickly is like the underachieving sibling in the Milk Tea family; No matter what it does, it will never be as loved as Tapioca Express. Quickly can offer cheaper prices, bigger portions and change out their sample jellies every other day, and, if given the choice between TapEx or Quickly, I'll choose the former. What is it with milk tea restaurants and the horrible color scheme? Have studies shown that mismatching colors cause customers to buy more? I dunno. TapEx in Union City likes to pair orange next to green. This Quickly loves to use several shades of orange and then pair them with mismatched white, green, brown and blue chairs and tables. Against the wall near the window, there's a karaoke machine. I have yet to see anyone use it, but as the place is frequented by Castro Valley High School students, I'm sure it's a pretty popular machine on the weekend. There's a TV in the restaurant that's perma-set to the Chinese channel (usually Chinese dramas), so keep that in mind if the sound of high pitched women screaming and crying at each on these shows other annoys you. I can only tolerate it for a few minutes before I've had my weekly fill. The milk tea selections are not great. Everything seems to start out with a base of milk tea, with whatever additional items added to it. For example, if you order Barley Milk Tea at this Quickly, it's milk tea with about two teaspoons of chopped barley. If you were hoping for a barley tea version of milk tea, you'll be disappointed. Hoping for some yummy Almond Milk Tea? As long as you're happy with milk tea with almond flavoring, you'll be fine. Ultimately, I recommend this place if you're in need of a milk tea fix and you're not willing to drive to a Tapioca Express. Get your drink and go. You'll be much happier that way. read more
