These are awesome !! I lost my keys to my car and they come out in within one hour of me calling them . The driver was in contact with me and was very friendly . He opened my car and quickly started making the keys for my car . He made sure the new key worked with my car alarm . He also took care in making sure the key fit perfectly . And wouldn't you know after he made the keys and everything was working ...... My keys turned up !!! Lol ! But seriously thank god they had a lot of important keys on them ! Overall the cost is reasonable for the quick response time and they make your keys quickly . Honestly it's good have this experience because now I know of a company that provides fast reliable service . I lose my keys often seriously why can't they be connected to your iPhone like the iwatch and you can just locate them by pinging them ?! Deceptive Price Quoting Be aware that Quick Key will tell you that it will cost $100 minimum to hire a locksmith, and $60 if it's a difficult job. What they DO NOT tell you is that it will then be an additional $90 for them to replace the lock. When I called Quick Key, the woman quoted me $100, $60 additional if the lock proved to be difficult. She DID NOT tell me that with a deadbolt, the technician would have to destroy the lock, costing $60 for the additional work, and $90 in addition to replace the lock. I was deceived, and if I had been given the information that I needed, I would have driven back to Wisconsin to retrieve my keys. They do good work, but I felt cheated. read more

Fast, reliable service! The entry door of the condo building that I live in (I'm an Association Board Member) started acting weird on a Friday. The residents were able to get in, but only after trying for a couple of minutes. After checking out the Yelp reviews, I went to the Quick Key Locksmith website and used their chat application (Jessica, I believe) to schedule a visit for Saturday. She gave me all of the information that I needed and things were set. On Saturday afternoon, a rep called a couple of hours before our scheduled time, to let me know that Jay wrapped up another job early, and ask if he could make his way over (which worked out well for me). Jay arrived, and had everything fixed very quickly. He was also very helpful about some other questions that I had about the buzz-entry system, and e-mailed me an estimate for that work. All-in-all, I was very pleased with the professionalism, communication, and price from everyone that I interacted with from Quick Key. Tenant locked out on a Sunday night at 9pm. Super. Reached out to Yelp to lead me through this debacle. This place had a banner ad and great reviews. Superb. The woman picked up on a few rings. Was friendly and efficient. I wouldn't be there so she send me electronically a credit card authorization form, which was easy to turn back around. Most importantly-- the tech came within the 40min quoted time!!!! He did try to pull a "well, my eqpt isnt strong enough. I'll need to replace the lock which is another $99..." I was like, "yeah, well push hard." So in the end he didn't need the extra. I wanted keys cut so this doesn't happen again. "I dont have the machine in my car. " UGH whatever. But they get the 5 stars for the standard $120 pricing, being on time (!!!), and efficiency of credit card processing and answering the phone. Called around trying to get someone to help me get my key from locked inside my car seemed impossible and was frustrating. I was in dire need of a new key fob for my car, as my fob was barely holding together anymore. The keypad, chip, etc were functioning and intact, but my fob case was cracked, causing the physical key to constantly slip out. I was tired of it looking so bootleg (lol). Anyway, I called around: the dealership wanted almost $600 (for a key???), another place quoted about $250 (better, but again - for a key???). Then I found Quick Key. Quick Key had received rave reviews on Yelp, so I figured I'd give them a call. After explaining my situation a few times, I was ultimately given a quote of $79. What?! So much better! So I drove to the Irving Park location, excited to finally get a new key for my car. Well...they didn't have the proper key for it (or so they thought). One gentleman (I'm so sorry, I didn't get his name) swooped out of the office, looked at the key, and determined that they could swap everything out and cut a new key for $24! Whaaaat?? YES! It took about 15 minutes from start to finish. It even looked as though he was teaching a couple of young men while completing the process. Everyone was so polite and helpful from start to finish, and I'm so happy that I found Quick Key. They definitely lived up to the Yelp hype, AND saved me a great deal of money. Hopefully I'll never need their services again (I mean, who REALLY wants to have to buy new keys or locks?). We just moved into a new place and were thrilled with everything except the doors. Between three main entry doors, all of which were supposed to work on the same key, two didn't work at all and one was terribly tricky. Now I don't normally review anything, but these guys are the bees knees and deserve it. I live in Cicero and I lost my car keys after a night out, like bro I was demolished. But that's a story for another night, now these guys answered my call at around 10:00AM. They asked me if I wanted to set up an appointment to make a replacement key, and I asked "Is Pluto a planet?" and they said that they would have someone come by within the next couple of hours. Fast forward to 11:03AM and lo and behold, I get a call from a guy saying he'll be at my location within 20 minutes. Fast forward 20 minutes and I sit, you knot, he drove up in a soccer mom suv called my phone and said "I'm here" My mind was blown. He gave me the same quote they gave me over the phone. I looked at the camera and gave a thumbs up while pouting my lips. He got to work on making the key for my chevy impala, we had small chit chat while we waited for a code for the key to generate and voila, he was done in 20 minutes. It was a long day and time to have a drink. Venturing out from Logan Square I decided to head to Wicker park, I had a few places in mind but the parking wasn't in my favor. I swear I parked three blocks of Chicago street and my adventure to Wicker park went from getting a drink to running a marathon. I can use the exercise. So about a block from my destination I noticed something was missing, not my phone, not my wallet but yep, my keys! Apparently I left my keys in the car, I guess it was just what I needed since I started laughing at myself. So whats next I asked myself, my advice, never ask yourself that. One would think there would be an available locksmith in Wicker park, nope! How about in Lakeview, nope! There has to be one in the Loop, nope! Yep you can say my luck was none existent, oh wait, I did have luck, bad luck. Womp womp Now here is where the story gets worse. So I said I thought I left my keys in the car, nope! That's a negative ghostrider. They were nowhere to be found, nowhere! Was this a sign from God to stop drinking? Maybe so, but the fact still remains, I'm screwed. Back on my phone with limited power I searched on Yelp and found Quick key who was freaking available, hallelujah! Gal picked me up and took me to my house in Logan square, re-keyed my locks there and drove me back to my car were he broke into my car and re-keyed my ignition & doors on the spot. Called quick to let me into my apartment after I had locked myself out. Called on the first try and got a lovely operator who was very kind to me and and answered all of my questions regarding the process. After I place my order for a locksmith he contacted me 2 minutes later and arrived 20 minutes later (which is actually pretty fast considering they are not down the street from my apartment). I was greeted by a man named Josh. He was very polite and professional. He used the easiest solution to unlock my door which resulted in no damage to my door lock mechanism. And also, because I mentioned I found them on yelp. I got 10% off of my order!!! (Hurrah!!!!!) In conclusion, you need to use quick key for all your issues regarding lockouts. Can't say enough. I own a cooking school called Naveen's Cuisine in the Bucktown/Wicker park neighborhood and at one event, after a few drinks a customer broke the key in the door. I called Quick Key the next afternoon and made an appointment - it was for 4:30pm on Saturday afternoon - there was no extra charge for weekend appointment and all charges were explained up front. After I made the appointment, 2 minutes later, Josh called me back to confirm the appointment time. I had called a couple of other locksmith's too (from Yelp and Craigslist) and they seemed to have an extra charge to come out on a weekend, could not give me a breakdown on charges upfront - I just did not feel comfortable scheduling a time with them. He was running late due to heavy traffic - called me to keep me updated. Arrived on site, professionally introduced himself and within seconds fixed the problem. Since the lock was not working well from the start, he offered me options (one was to not change anything), it was for me to decide the best option that I wanted. 15 - 20 minutes it was all done. Wow! What an experience. I call them up at 7:15 pm on a Monday night to leave a message that I would like someone to call me back about setting up a potential Saturday appointment. However my call is answered by a live person still working who says they can send someone out to my condo now. Within 20 minutes their on-call rep Josh shows up. I wish I had my own company as I would hire Josh on the spot as he was that good on all levels. Very smart, professional, competent, likable and fast. By 8pm I had a new doorknob that had three lock settings and still worked with the existing key I had which is also a master key to the various common area doors. He even fixed my door so I wouldn't have to adjust it anymore and made my deadbolt more effective as well. So in less than 45 minutes from picking up the phone my door problems were resolved for a fair fee and accompanied by exceptional customer service and competence.
