After a condo neighbor's dog sitter broke her key off in our front gate lock (in an apparent attempt to disprove the theory that if a lock is sticking, the best course of action would be to force the key), I had the responsibility for getting the thing repaired - which I was totally dreading (having recently spent hours waiting for Comcast to stand me up repeatedly). After several of the most highly reviewed locksmiths on yelp either failed to call me back or couldn't arrange to come out for nearly a week, I was thrilled to find that Quick Key not only answered my call (after 6pm), but also was ready to come out at the drop of a hat. Although the person on the phone was somewhat difficult to understand, we arranged a time the next day for the tech to come out. Josh, my tech, called to confirm 30 minutes before my appointment window, showed up precisely at 10am (the beginning of the window), was quick, professional, and did an excellent job. I'm out of town and the keys I left my pet-sitters are not working. I called Gal today (Sunday) to see if they could go over to sometime today (no rush) to meet the pet-sitter and let her in. I mentioned the 24/7 service call fee of $15 they advertise on both Yelp and their website, only to be told that their service call fee for Sundays (which is considered an emergency if you don't make an appointment before the weekend) is $65. I understand the price of the actual labor and materials is more than $15, but they're making a very false claim with the 24/7 service fee itself if they're not going to honor it on Sundays. I'm sure they do a great job but if you're looking for lock-out service on the weekend, don't be fooled by the Ad! I'm out of town and not in the mood for any other bait & switch tactics they may try to pull, so I went with another top rated Yelp locksmith instead. His service call fee was $75 plus labor/material and I appreciated the "No BS" approach much more instead. read more
