Neither the door lock nor the dead bolt lock on my garage work. They were installed one month ago by quick key locksmith. They don't catch and the door pushes open. I called and was at first told that there would be an additional charge, but then they agreed to send someone out. I don't know what he did but the locks still don't work. I guess I'll have to call someone else to fix my locks. I'm not going to pay them to redo what I've already paid for. read more

On 2/23 a technician came to my condo to rekey the locks after my tenant had moved. I had sent them pictures before hand and told them that the bottom luck was stuck in lock position and could not be unlocked. I told them it would need to be repaired or maybe replaced. When the technician showed up, I asked if he could repair it. He said he could not and the whole lock needed to be replaced. Unfortunately he did not have just a bottom lock (even though i had told them upfront it might need to be replaced, so i would have expected them to come prepared). He had one set on him to replace both bottom and top, but it would have cost me more than 150$ if I remember well. So in the end, i asked him to just rekey both locks and figured i'd just have to remember to always take the key when leaving the unit. First of all, i checked online and found that a set of locks (top and bottom, same as the one on my door) could be purchased for 50$! But most importantly, today, i was at the unit and found that the bottom lock now worked. I asked the contractor who has been working in the unit for the past week if he had fixed it, he said no, it just started working again one day. Probably the mechanism inside had something wrong. In any case, the bottom line is the technician said it could not be repaired, tried to sell me an incredibly expensive lock and in the end it fixed itself.... I am super disappointed and will never be using your services again! read more

Quick key locksmith has been saving my ass for like 6 years now. I've locked myself out of my home, friends homes, cars, you name it. I'm known for it. But I never panic bc I know quick key will be there in an instant and have me in almost immediately, without adding on extra fees and charges at the end like every other company does. I had broken my mailbox key of in the lock, then pushed the remaining piece deep inside trying to retrieve it myself. The guy from Quick Key shop up when they said he would, tried to extract the key to no avail because I had pushed it in too far, then drilled out the tumbler and replaced it. This is probably an overdue review, but I still remember how accommodating and quick they were when I went to have my key cut and remote programmed for my old Nissan Versa. Asking around for quotes, Most places were charging me double the rate that they charged. They were willing to meet me at their Wheaton location since I couldn't get to the one in the city on time. Gal and Quick Key are the best! Needed to have several things done at my house. Primarily I needed an electric lock added to my outside fence along with door buzzer in the house. Also wanted a deadbolt put on my back gate where there was none, add a lock to another gate on my front fence and re-key a lock on my screen door and I wanted them all to work w/ one key, the same that opened my house, garage etc. Didn't want to be walking around w/ a set of janitor keys just to get into my own house. I got a quote from one of Quick Key's competitors and was blown away. Pretty much wasn't going to do the job till I got Quick Key's quote. They were much more reasonable. When they did the job Gal and his crew were total professionals. Even when they ran into issues that made the job take longer than they'd planned, they stuck it out and didn't try to charge me more like sometimes happens with some contractors when they underestimate a job.
