I've been here twice now. The first time was for lunch right after opening time with a work group. Everything was delicious and we all loved our food. Our server was amazing and really took the time to go over the menu and recommend her favorites and the most popular dishes. The food came out fresh and tasty. I went back a week or so later with my family for dinner and was disappointed. We had reservations and had to wait an inordinate amount of time to be acknowledged by the hostesses. There were two and they were engaged with trying to figure out what tables were open, cleaning tables, working a to go order by phone. I stood there for well over 5 minutes without them ever looking up and acknowledging me. When finally seated, we had the same server (by our request) and she was once again terrific. However, the food was much more disappointing. Literally everything we ate for dinner felt like it was cooked at opening time and kept warm all day. The biscuits were stale and dry as was the chicken on the salad. My wife got the vegetable plate. Again, her vegetables were as if they were cooked that morning and left in a steam table for 8 hours with little attention thereafter. It was really disappointing. First visit was 5 stars and second visit was 2 stars (only because of the delightful service). So, when averaged together...3.5 stars. read more

Downtown Canton is killing it on restaurants and Queenie's is no exception. Nick is a fun bartender to talk to. We only come in when he is working. Some must eats include: farm mushrooms on ciabatta, house biscuits, grilled chicken smothered in pimento cheese, and fried chicken. The ham & pickles bizarrely remind me of a 1980s homemaker appetizer at a bridal shower but is surprisingly fun and good. Flashback to the past and enjoy. read more

This place has some classic southern dishes. The cheese chicken 'n dumplings reminded me of home. Just like grandma used to make.

We put in a reservation for 11 to celebrate our brides upcoming wedding. It was an incredible experience and the food was perfect! Yum! Our waitress was very personable and attentive, I was pleasantly surprised that the food came so quickly. Beautiful interior, would recommend to anyone in the area or nearby. We had an excellent first experience with Queenie's tonight. We ordered Togo and it was ready within 15mins. They have parking available out front and bring the Togo orders to the front for pickup. We ordered the fried chicken with Mac n cheese and lady peas then also the grilled chicken with pimento cheese with sides of collard greens and grits. The order also came with biscuits and muffins. The staff was incredibly friendly on the phone and at the restaurant. We are so excited to come back to try more off the menu since we found everything to be excellent. The menu consists of picking your type of meat then selecting 2 sides. They also have salads, appetizers, and desserts. If you're looking for good southern food this is your place! The chicken was juicy, Mac n cheese was very cheesy, the peas were delicious, grits were very good, and the collards were too. The muffins and biscuits were a nice added touch. They even put the gravy on the side for the chicken which was delicious on both the chicken and the biscuits. Give this place a shot for lunch or dinner when in the area! read more

They don't claim to be a vegetarian friendly restaurant. I get it. But zero vegetarian appetizers? One vegetarian main course which is 4 "sides" put together. And mediocre at best? I was there for a work dinner. Would not be on my radar otherwise. It's not that difficult to come up with pleasing meat entrees. To come up with flavorful vegetarian or vegan entrees takes thought and skills. Too bad the folks here are not up to the challenge... will return when they join the 21st century! read more

A gentrification of the southern staple "meat & 3" restaurants. The food is good. No question. It's just that I learned about Queenie's from a neighbor who wouldn't be caught dead in a real Southern diner. She announced that she found "a new kind of restaurant - 'meat and 2'," which made me laugh coming from someone who lived in the area for more than 10 years. OK. Down from my soapbox... The food and service are great. It's a little more dressed up and pricey than it needs to be, but that's nothing new. I prefer the real thing, but those are becoming scarce around here. Nowhere near the true character of a traditional Southern eatery, but it's a safe bet in downtown Canton. read more

It was so good y'all! Let me just start out by saying this was probably the BEST sweet tea I've ever had! It was wet and plentiful. The service was phenomenal, and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the decor! The food was just lovely! We had the Chicken Fried Chicken and the meatloaf. The chicken was moist and tender, with a really great crust, and a herb gravy that just set the whole dish off. The meatloaf was a hearty portion with a cola glaze, a little different, but good. The whole place smelled wonderful. Would highly recommend. We can not wait to return! read more

Not you usual cafe! Great food, great wait staff and a real pleasure to eat at! It's hard to find truly unique and delicious food in small town environments today. Can't has several now and visiting the town square is once again a pleasure. Decided on just vegetables my first visit, but today I ordered the 1/2 rack of ribs. They looked so good I forgot to take a photo before I dug into them.....they were super tender and cooked with a great rub and sauce. Perfect meal! While reading an email from Only in Your State (Georgia), we came upon a story that mentioned this restaurant as a downtown Canton, GA must try gem. We were intrigued by the reviews and so made reservations for 2 @6 PM this past weekend. The restaurant was a two hour drive in each direction for us, but we both love a good road trip. We arrived 30 minutes early thinking we would just order a cocktail and relax before supper. The restaurant was quiet with many open tables and we were seated immediately. No issue there. We had a nice private booth in the corner and were able to have quiet conversation. This place is homey and welcoming. True southern charm. Within a few minutes of being seated, our waitress (more on her later in this review) came over and took our drink order and promptly returned with our cocktails. The lady had a Queeny Martini and I ordered a Jack on the rocks. Both were a nice pour. We both ordered salads, sides and the Flat Iron Steak. Both salads were very good, but we hadn't taken but one or two sips of our cocktails when the salads arrived. All fresh greens, thinly sliced veggies and homemade cornbread croutons. The croutons are amazing! This is when it began going downhill. Less than 5 minutes after our salads arrived, the entrees were delivered to our table. I am one that likes to enjoy my meal in individual courses. Bringing the entrees out so quickly is simply unacceptable. This is fine dining.....not a fast food restaurant. My first thought was to send back the entrees, but rather than make a scene, we let it slide and just smiled when the waitress asked if everything was ok? My face probably told a different story than what my lips were saying. So the Flat Iron steaks were prepared perfectly and were tender and flavorful. The chef does a fabulous job and presentation was very good. You can tell the chef takes pride in his/her profession. Each dinner came with one side. The lady ordered the Whipped Potatoes. She was not impressed as they lacked any real flavor. I ordered the Cheese and Mac. This was very good. Creamy and full of flavor. We also ordered a side of the Roasted Brussels Sprouts. They were heavily seasoned. I found them to be good, but the lady found them to be too spicy for her taste. Moving on to the service........ This waitress had a fake smile on her face throughout our dinner, and was less than real. In fact we felt very uncomfortable with her less than enthusiastic attitude. She checked on us throughout the dinner, but did so in passing......never stopping to hear the reply. The service provided by our waitress was subpar. We felt very rushed throughout the dinner and for this reason, we give the restaurant 3 stars. My fiancé picked up the tab, and in spite of being rushed and the poor service, still left a 20% tip. Honestly, I would have done otherwise as I felt we needed to send her a message. Overall: The quality of the food was very good. Would we come back? I think so, but I would ask not to be served by that waitress. read more

We've been coming since the day that they opened, we love it. Originally my favorite dish was the potato chicken pot pie but they don't offer that any more, my new fall & winter favorite is the chicken and dumplings, and my spring summer favorite is the chicken & gravy. If they have the Brussel spouts and or smoked corn get it! They are dog friendly but only have about 4 tables outside; we usually sit outside with our dogs. If you sit outside be prepared for slower service and bugs. The flies are awful. read more

Only one star. I didn't eat, as what was on the menu, both instore and on website was unavailable. We made a reservation for 5 PM on Sat. Only 10% of the restaurant had patrons, 90% empty tables and booths, as we were following the hostess, passing 1/2 empty booths, she brought us to a booth in the very back of the restaurant, next to the kitchen passthrough, stacked dishes, to go containers and where the wait staff hangs out with the QA. So our view... Kitchen interaction and noise, 4 plus behinds, backsides, buts and their conversations. Prior to sitting I asked not to be seated there, the hostess said we seat in rotation (which I understand) however it seems we had almost the only working waitress as most of the restaurant was empty. Why would the manager/owner use the first available station in the back near the kitchen (the restaurant was open one hour at that time 4 PM). So when I ordered, Vegetable plate, the waitress let me know 3 of the 4 items I ordered was not available, I said they were on both the paper menu and the website, which is why I came. It was "too bad". Also when we made the reservation in advance, we were asked if we were celebrating an occasion, to which we were celebrating 2 birthdays (there were 3 of us). Don't know why when calling they ask, because it was never mentioned while dining, nor prior to us leaving. No perk for celebrating, why did they ask. The pricing was high although what my guests ordered looked ok. The drink from the bar was all ice. I would not have stayed to eat, but was with others. I just called the restaurant number on website, it must've rang 15 times, until the phone call dropped off/hung up. Bottom line I will never eat there again, nor will I recommend it to anyone. I have eaten at several restaurants, many times in Canton, GA, so have much to compare. Never again. read more

first time here and it won't be the last. I had the chicken breast with ham and pimento cheese alongside Mac n' Cheese and Grits (don't judge ). Entire dish was delicious! Hubby had the meatloaf sausage and while good he preferred my dish. Collards ok, cauliflower very tasty! I saw lots of dishes come out of the kitchen and I already have my future meals picked out! ~~~~~~ update: went back 3/23.. I had the veggie dish - cauliflower, coleslaw, Mac n' cheese and brussel sprouts. It was so delicious and portions are generous. Hubby had the daily special - scallops & peas and a side of asparagus. So impressed! Having experienced lived and experienced cuisine in Midtown Atlanta and eaten at all of Kevin Rathbuns restaurants as well as upscale steak restaurants in other states and countries I did not think I would be so impressed by this very OTP restaurant's steak. However their filet topped with bleu cheese and bacon jam was absolutely amazing and I could not say enough good things. To top it off, their kitchen nailed as far as giving me a rare steak. By far, best new restaurant in Cherokee county...it's been open for about 45 days now and they got it together! From the owner/operator of Canton's Going Coastal seafood and the Downtown kitchen, we now have Queenies down town Canton! Thank you for bringing it back to life. Fact: named after his mother's nickname, the buildout is surprisingly beautiful inside. Food style is best described as fine dining Southern gourmet. You'll find great classic Southern/American food. His mother makes the best homemade desserts! If you want a nice place to stop and eat on your way up to the mountains, this is it. Never judge a book by its cover...the place looks small from the front of the outside but as soon as you step in, you'll see it's big enough. The have regular tables as well as big comfy booths. This resturant in downtown Canton has a lot of good qualities inn my opinion. The decor is nice and when you walk in you'll see a large well stocked bar. The food is solid. My mushroom fritter using local "LOUDMOUTH" mushrooms was one of the biggest hits of the night. I could eat two orders for sure. The rest of my food was enjoyable and so was the service. The macaroni and cheese was tasty, and so was the veggie soup. I didn't really care for the coleslaw. I really appreciated that the server Cara checked on my food preferences . I hope this place thrives and continues to bring more people downtown. I also loved their music selection. It was light 80s rock. Recommended for sure. read more

Just stopped in for lunch. Cute little place with some shops right next door. The New York strip steak sandwich was amazing. The chicken and dumplings was good. The burger with bacon jam was a favorite. My son said it was the best burger he's had in a year! The Coca Cola cake was meh but the lavender and honey Crème brûlée tasted like yogurt to us. We've been visiting Queenie's since they open and have never been disappointed. Southern style veggies, Alice in Wonderland sized pork rinds appetizer, and delicious Coca Cola cake do not disappoint. Queenie's provides modern southern charm in downtown canton. Very good southern comfort food here! I got the fried chicken which came with two large fried chicken breasts. The batter was perfectly crispy!! The only reason I gave this less stars was because I felt like it could use more seasoning or something..beautifully tender, crispy, juicy chicken nonetheless. Came with a choice of two sides, I went with their creamy grits and seasonal Brussels sprouts. Their blackberry Moscow mule was amaaazing. I went to queenies twice in a week. One night was a week day and one night was a Saturday night. The service on Saturday was definitely better. The biscuits and honey butter that they brought out were inconsistent. On the week day they were kind of salty and the butter just had honey drizzled over it. On the Saturday the biscuits were better and the honey and the butter were more of a compound and mixed together better. Both times I had one of the daily specials. On the week day I had an appetizer for dinner which was a fritter and it was stuffed with pulled pork and pimento cheese drizzled with ranch and bbq. On the Saturday we had a bigger party so we got the southern poutine app (way way better than I thought it would be) and I got the pecan crusted redfish for my entree. That was very good, with a side of corn and grits. (Didn't like the grits) Also, the drinks are delicious and strong, definitely worth the price. Nice decor and good service. read more

I've lived in the area for nearly 2yrs and I just found this place. Wow. Late to the party but this place is top notch. From start to finish the food was phenomenal. I managed to sample a lot: Biscuits with pimento bacon dip, Fried chicken, brussel sprouts and the smoked cauliflower. Mrs has the ribs and was very impressed.
