I thought for sure I'd reviewed this place but apparently not, so I'll start by saying this is an awesome place. I've been there with friends and also as part of a work/vendor dinner that had 13 people and in both circumstances, had a great experience. The food here is great all around...for starters, I loved the seafood options including the shrimp cocktail and the really outstanding calamari. At the work dinner, we also had sausage and peppers, which I loved. The first time I came I had veal, which was good but the most recent time, I tried a shrimp pasta which was just okay. Not very much shrimp and the pasta sauce was a little bland. What wasn't bland was my trecolore margarita. I really liked that. Service is professional and efficient....you can tell you're in the major leagues here. The team works together so well and so efficiently, it was like watching an operational masterclass. They make it look effortless. Proof of this is that when I was at my vendor work dinner (things I usually dread because I don't like being trapped somewhere for 3+ hours), the team had us out of there in under two hours and we had appetizers, mains AND dessert/coffee/cocktails yet we never once felt rushed. More places need to learn how to do this! My mother in law is visiting soon....I need to remember to make a reservation here and treat her to a nice dinner. If you want to score points with anyone, take them to dinner at Quality Italian. Before seeing a show at radio city, our group had a reservation at Quality Italian. Someone had recommended it to me, but my expectations were definitely exceeded! Lovely vibe in the restaurant, and our server was attentive and informative of different choices on the menu. There were so many great options, and we were impressed with everything that we tried. The homemade pastas and appetizers were delicious, and the chicken parm pizza was unique and tasty. They brought out a complimentary corn crème brûlée with my dad's wagyu, and we really enjoyed it! This is a nice place to go, and overall I had a good experience. I ordered the Baby Kale Tricolore Salad, a side of QI Tuscan Fries, and the Dry Aged Bistecca Agnolotti as my main dish. Everything was delicious, and I really enjoyed the food. The restaurant itself is nice, although it can get quite loud. The staff were friendly, but you could definitely feel the sense of urgency because the restaurant was busy. It felt like everyone was in a hurry to get back to the other tables, which made me feel like I had to rush as well. One thing I didn't particularly appreciate was when they brought a grill out for the table next to us and positioned it right next to my seat. This is not going to achieve what you want out of a Del Posto (RIP) type spot, and certainly doesn't have the neighborhood feel of a Nonna Dora's, but it also delivers good food, in a sexy environment, that is great for a birthday dinner or a work get together. This is the same restaurant group that owns Bad Roman and Don Angie, both restaurants that deliver Italian food and a different vibe entirely. Don Angie would be my fun date spot, Bad Roman would be where I take my parents, and Quality Italian would be where I take my team. Tricolore margarita is the same as it was 10 years ago, the whipped ricotta just so tasty, the paccheri honestly really good and the truffle cacio e pepe so tasty. The chicken was good, the salmon tasty, and nothing was overwhelmingly large, but nothing was overwhelmingly great. The whole experience is marked with honestly great service each step of the way. She and her friend were able to use the elevator, which made things much easier. Finally got the chance to try Quality Italian and left very happy! This spot is located on the second floor in east midtown. There is a coat check when you first enter, but then you climb the spiral staircase to the host stand where you check-in. I came with a reservation on a weeknight and was seated promptly. The actual space is similar to Quality Meats- classic decor, dark, and loud. It was also packed with the after-work crowd since I came on a weeknight. I started with the Spritz (refreshing and tart). For appetizers we got the Caesar Salad and the Whipped Ricotta w Monkey Bread. They were able to accommodate a nut allergy and served the walnuts on the side. The Whipped Ricotta was tasty- fluffy and sweet with a drizzle of honey and salt. It went perfectly with the warm pull-apart monkey bread. Caesar salad was crisp and tasty. For mains we got the Truffle Pappardelle and the Beef Ragu. They really did not skimp on the truffle, which is shaved tableside. The Truffle pasta was creamy, rich, and indulgent. The Beef Ragu had a nice kick from the peppers and the pasta itself had a good bite. We finished with the orange creamsicle gelato which was garnished with a candied orange peel. This was nice and refreshing, but nothing life changing. Overall I had high expectations and I left happy!
