I go back and forth with my feelings about this QFC... It replaced an "old-fashioned" QFC that sat next to the Key Arena a few blocks up the street. This newer one has a very different feel and as has been said before, the organization of this one is a little scattered and seems awkward at times. It is def clean and they typically have some warm or nearly warm fresh bread and often a lot of yummy samples in the bakery section! One day, I was coming in to buy some cinnamon rolls, but they had WHOLE muffins in their sample bin! I grabbed an oaty nutty muffin and walked around the store eating it instead! The old deli in the prior QFC seemed far less expensive for sandwiches and hot deli items, but they have some nicer stuff now. The produce section can seem very hit-or-miss, having stuff you want and randomly not having other things, but it's not terrible. This is not my fave grocery, as QFC's in general aren't. I work right near here, though, and it's convenient, open 24-hours, and usually can give me close to what I'm looking for! It's good enough and closer than walking up to Trader Joe's, so it is what it is. Free parking is def cool in an area like this that is tough to find parking in! read more

I like QFC and have shopped at many of them around town, However, I find some of the checkers and baggers at this particular QFC to be quite rude and even hostile. One of the baggers (an older african american woman) was actually annoyed that I wanted my soda bagged because it was heavy for her to lift. In fact, none of the women baggers seem to be very good at what they are doing. It is always a gamble when I go there: sometimes the folks are nice and sometimes the ones who are rude are working and my experience is not so good. If it wasn't so close to work, I would skip this QFC all together. read more

*sigh*...I really wish this was a good store. I work across the street and it would be so awesome if this store was dependable, but they're not. Sandwiches are flat-out gross. Avoid anything prepacked or repacked in the deli case. Tip: Try to get to the soup before the homeless people with pinkeye start sampling. The produce is pretty good, but good luck getting anything else 'fresh' from there, or getting the attention of anyone behind the deli counter, especially without any attitude. Stopped in to grab a quick lunch yesterday. Chose "fresh" California rolls from the sushi section and a bit of broccoli salad from the deli. It was nothing special - not bad, not great...kinda what I expected from grocery store sushi. About 3 hours later, however, a whole new saga began. There was clearly something "not so fresh" about my food, and I soon realized I had food poisoning. Not sure if it was the sushi or the salad and I don't really care...but I was up all night so I had plenty of time to think about it. If I ever find myself in need of groceries or a quick lunch, this QFC will NOT be the place to go. Feh! read more

I didnt think that this is a very good store. Always when i go there the carts are messed up and they always go off to the side. It is so annoying!! Also if it a 2 for 1 sale the charge me for both and one time i wanted something and the casheir wasnt nice about it and we had to call another store (in the line) and I finally convinced her to give me the sale! I would reccomend the QFC in intebay (across the street from the red mill hamburger shop). read more

This is by far the worst QFC I have been to. I have started to go out of my way to go the U Village location or one of the Capitol Hill locations. The deli closes early, which is fine when I go in the morning but if I want to do my shopping at night and need something from the deli I try to show up before the sun goes down. Almost very time I have gone the check out clerks have either been rude, slow, and/or gossiping loudly about their coworkers. Hey guys I get it that it is a boring job, just scan my items and put them in the bag and once I walk away you can start the gossip up again. I don't really care that Jenny slept with Rick. I really wanted sesame seed oil on my last trip but of course they didn't have that. They had toasted sesame seed oil in the Asian section along with blended. Then they had more toasted in the regular cooking oil section. I like beer. They an ok beer selection. But when there pale ales are 6 months old that is just no good. Pales and IPAs should be drank within 3 months. Also last time I was there I found a bottles of spices that was ONE YEAR best its use by date when all the other bottles still had 2 years till there use by date. The layout of this store is a SIN. They have 3 oil sections from what I have found. Nothing ever seems to be where it should be. They aren't a total fail though. I can usually do 90% of my shopping, but that doesn't do me a lot of good when I end up just having to go to whole foods to get the other 10%. I rather just make one trip. read more

I really like my QFC. I always get the same girl cashier every time I buy hard liquor and/or condoms. Pretty sure she thinks I have issues, but whatever. There are some good things about this location and some not so good things. The good: reasonable selection of pantry staples, decent prices for this area, the only place with ripe (yellow not green) plantains so my fat ass can make tostones on demand. Not so good: sporadic quality issues with meat and produce (e.g. dark grey flank steak, mushy onions), the occasional unholy trifecta of gut-wrenching stench (dead flies, rancid milk, crackheads) produced by the Starbucks in the east corner. Just hold your breath and run, pussy. Mediocre baked goods--the Met Market five blocks up the street has got Macrina loaves--gotta step yo game up. Fine for basics but there are better options for produce and meat in the area. read more

Wow. I've never actually enjoyed a QFC grocery store before. This one's so damn neat, that I took both my 15 minute breaks, and my 30 minute lunch, together at the same time yesterday, just to speed-walk my butt down here to pick up some lunch. Did you know that a grocery store sushi case could be worth going out of your way for? Neither did I. Cheap, delish, and a wide variety of rolls and goodies to choose from. There's thin-crust, wood fire pizza, made fresh and to order if you like, which is just rad. There is, of course, the usual wide selection of everyday and specialty goods you'd expect from QFC, without the ghetto/sloppy feel they usually have. Also, they must have really beat customer service into every single staff member here, because I've never encountered so many friendly, helpful, smiling people working somewhere in my life. As another reviewer said, I'm sincerely impressed. And surprised. It would be five stars, but I just cannot bring myself to give five stars to a grocery store. My boyfriend and I visited QFC several times during our recent trip to Seattle because it was located just a block from our hotel. The market was very clean and everything was presented nicely. The regular prices seemed pretty fair and their sale prices were good. My boyfriend and I bought some pears ($1/lb) and ended up coming to the market for Top Pot donuts everyday ($0.69/each). At the end of the day, they box up all of the extra donuts (dozen per box) and sell them at $2.99. Even though we couldn't eat this many donuts, my boyfriend and I bought a box anyway- such a deal and so delicious. The staff was friendly with each interaction and I like that they had self check-out as an option. They frequently have free samples of baked goods near the bakery and they have a Starbucks inside the market as well. They have a nice sitting area inside, near the Starbucks and this is where we enjoyed our donuts each morning. Notes: -Open 24 hours a day! -They have a parking lot in the building. -You need a club card to get some of the sale prices, but it's really easy to sign up. read more

I have to go a little further to get to here to get some foods, but they just happen to have the variety that I need. The Safeway and Metropolitan Market are much closer to me. Safeway is kind of limited and Metropolitan Market is closer to par but I think it may be a little pricier. This QFC also has a parking lot under it which is a huge plus for this area. Because of its location though, I think it's slightly more expense then the QFCs outside of the uptown area. Staff was very helpful in finding some of the more unique ingredients I needed for some experimental recipes. Clean atmosphere. One of the better grocery experiences. read more

Having stood in line for ten minutes at the only checker open and five carts still in front of me, I asked the manager, MICHAEL: "With all these employees milling around, why is there only one checkout open?" I spoke strongly but civilly and his first response was, "What?" I asked if he wished me to repeat it and he said, "No." Eventually there was a lip-service apology. His attitude was arrogant, officious, inhospitable, and lackadaisical. Eventually he lumbered off saying, "That's what I expect from your TYPE." As a gay, Jewish man of 61, I took offense and pursued him asking to know what he meant. Then our voices were raised. Only MARGIE, the checker was friendly and affable enough to alleviate my displeasure. There is no reason for this entitled, self-righteous, oaf to manage and represent QFC at which I have shopped since 2006. We don't have QFCs in San Diego, nor do we have them in NJ, where I'm originally from. So that's where my perspective is at. QFC appears to be a more upscale supermarket. At least compared to most of the Shop-Rites, Pathmarks, Albertsons and Vons I've seen. Previous reviewers said the layout was odd and tricky; I had no problems with it. Of course, I'm on vacation and have no agenda. I found everything I needed in reasonable time, though. The only thing that slowed me down was the sheer volume of selection. I spent probably about 15 minutes perusing the sandwiches, trying to make a decision. I dropped in on Christmas Eve, when you would normally expect supermarket chaos, right? Not so at the QFC. I actually ended up making 2 trips over there on Christmas Eve. Both times, it was not very crowded at all, and check-out was a breeze. This QFC is not even 5 minutes from where we're staying, and is open 24 hours. It's great for the travelers staying at the hotels in the area. If you need food, toiletries, medicine, booze...this is the ideal one-stop-shop. Plus the giant yellow "QFC" letters/logo is a great landmark as well. When I'm walking around and getting tired...I know I'm getting close to my hotel and a comfy bed when I see "QFC"!! read more

This is a standard QFC with a nice beer/wine selection, regular grocery items for a slightly higher price, great bread section, and more upscale feel than Safeway. The only thing that really stands out is the personal care aisle: the shelves are back-lit which makes all the bottles look more glamorous and alluring -- even Suave body wash. I know it's damn trickery cause yesterday I went in for a bottle of wine and came out with conditioner and styling creme!! This store is open 24 hours and I've never actually been in here before nightfall. I can't comment on how it is during regular hours, but I can say all employees have been perfectly nice to me, even at 2am. There is a FREE parking garage, which is exciting. The elevator also takes you to Office Max, should you need some office supplies with your groceries. The layout is confusing, which is probably why I ended up with two hair products and a Cadbury Egg before I found my way to the wine! This neighborhood is only a little shady, but at night there is a full on cop in riot gear in there so take your drunken shoplifting impulses elsewhere. Be sure to get the QFC card, it can mitigate the higher prices. I'd never do a big shopping trip here or at any QFC but for late night or unexpected needs it does the trick. read more

Pros: convenient location; open 24 hours Cons: kind of poorly laid out inside. I have a lot more trouble finding what I want in this store than most other supermarkets. Some items that seem like they should be in the same aisle -- or at least adjacent aisles -- are in completely different parts of the store. The store is also a bit on the smaller end -- which is fine given its location. But this means that, when I can't find an item, I'm never sure if it's because I simply can't find it, or if they don't carry it. read more

I work a couple blocks away, easy stop for perishable groceries or lunch. The deli is good. "Boars Head" logos all over everything, which is pretty good quality. I've had a number of their sandwiches, and they've all been tasty. The wraps are OK, but the sandwiches are where it's at. Customer service in the deli area can be lackluster. On one occasion I tried to purchase a sandwich that was marked down $1 in the display case, and they tried to refuse the advertised price. After arguing about it and pointing to the clearly marked discount sign, they finally obliged. Floral department is run of the mill for a super market. If the person you're giving flowers to is someone you really care about, spend a little more and go further up Mercer to Met Market. All in all, if you want a decent sandwich I'd recommend the deli. If you're seeking enlightenment through caring customer service, go elsewhere. read more

Service is great. A little pricey, so get the discount card! We're thrilled with this QFC. Not only is it mere blocks from our place, but the selection is quite good and the staff is very helpful. On more than a few occasions someone on staff has dropped everything he was doing to help me find something obscure, like fish sauce, or crushed cashews. And by the way, it's open 24 hours a day. The tipping point for me, however, was going through the cashier and getting a whopping $42 discount on a $130 bill because I had the QFC discount card. That definitely cushioned the blow of having to pay a little above market for groceries. read more

Great staff working here. Dave, the manager, is great and friendly. The only problem I've ever had is over in the deli. Some of the people over there are slow (and that could even be an understatement). The presentation of the store is good as is the produce. I love going to QFC ! It has everything you need and more to the point where you get lost on what to buy. The market is very clean and organized plus if you'd like some already cooked meals there is a stand for soups and others. I personally recommend the cheddar cheese and broccoli soup. Also, I love donuts and they have a stand there from my favorite shop , Top Pot doughnuts. Im also a Middle Eastern and so like having some middle eastern food specifically "labneh" (similar to greek yogurt) which I was surprised to find at QFC. Generally, QFC is my go to place for groceries and other things. read more

You get fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, dairy products, frozen food, beverages, fresh meat and fish, other household supplies and pharmacy products. So you're covered with a good base for everything at home. Plus: Everyone is friendly, you can park your car in their garage while shopping and everything is clean. read more

This QFC is a nightmare, way too understaffed and the layout is horrible. Their Customer Service section never has anyone waiting to help you, so you stand around waiting for someone to come to the desk or have to go get a cashier to get someone to come. I had the final straw when I waited 10 minutes there with four other people waiting and this guy even asked a cashier if he could get us help in the department and still no one was coming. The cashier finally helped but he wasn't trained to do anything in that department and no one was working to be able to do what needed to be done, guy in front of me needed a lotto ticket-didn't have the key to open the glass, alcohol sales-no key, and finally me - I needed a money order to pay my rent and was told their machine was broken. Mind you I was on a 20 minute break working a double so I was really upset to find I wasted 15 minutes of my time to accomplish nothing but added stress. A simple sign at the cashier would've saved me a lot and this bad review perhaps. Very inconvenient. I drive an extra 10 minutes to go to the Fred Meyer in Ballard now just to avoid coming back to this place, plus their prices are cheaper for the same products. read more

I love this grocery store! We have shopped here multiple times when we vacation in Seattle as we stay nearby and always have a refrigerator and microwave in our room. First off, free parking in an underground garage. Score. Secondly, open 24 hours. Score. Lastly, great selection and layout and departments that make it feel very upscale. I'm not normally a QFC shopper. I stop in here sometimes in the morning to grab a cup of coffee from the Starbucks inside. I usually like to grab a banana or two. Somehow I always wind up in line behind another shopper who has a big order and it's the only register open and the self check out is closed. The few employees that I've interacted with have been friendly. The store has always been clean and tidy and all shelves full. It's not convenient to my house otherwise I might shop here more often. read more

I needed some blue ice to keep some samples chilled, dialed in QFC on the TomTom, and in five minutes I was bee-lined to this QFC. QFC's are generally pretty nice supermarkets, somewhere between Albertsons and Whole Foods on the niceness scale. This QFC, being relatively new was very nice, well laid out, and the shelves nicely stocked and arranged. One cool thing is that the lights inside the frozen food cases switch on as you walk down the aisle. So green, so energy efficient. I found the blue ice and was cheerfully and efficiently checked out. This store has a Starbucks if that's how you roll. Me, grande nonfat latte. The store is in a typical mixed-use development, retail on ground floor, residential above, and below ground parking, free for QFC customers. read more

I grew up with QFC's around and this is one of the few that's left. Most of the stores have been closed outside of the Seattle neighborhoods. They are known for being more on the pricey side but they also do offer fresher produce (usually) and cleaner stores. This location is great as it offers a parking garage underneath it while you shop. For those who know Seattle, this is a must have! They also have other shops that are above it (NY Pizza company seems to be the latest one). Their prices can be fair when they have sales and whatnot but beware that they are rarely on the cheap side of prices. The sales clerks are nice as I couldn't remember my "savings card #" and they scanned a generic card so I could get the 'savings'. Cell reception is also an issue here as I didn't have any while I shopped (kind of an annoyance). read more

I used to frequent them when they were next to Key Arena, and I was terrifically disappointed to hear that they were moving to their new location on Mercer. So, I broke down and went inside the other day.... .....guess what? I was REALLY surprised. First, the people are much friendler (they had lost "something" in the old store, particularly in the deli). Second, they've got EVERYTHING, and I do mean EVERYTHING, but yet it doesn't feel like a big, huge store. Architecturally, they've done quite well with the space (and they have lots of it to work with). Parking is great -- they've got a basement garage that's easy to get in and out of. The produce was great, the deli had an amazing array of stuff, and check-out was well done. My ONLY complaint (and it's a minor one) is that the bagels (yum!) are right in with the doughnuts (ugggghhhh...) read more

A sequel in the continuing saga of airplane-hangar-style QFC's. Predecessors include the Harvard Market QFC, et. al. No wonder the neighborhood on Upper Queen Anne is so adamantly opposed to the Metropolitan Market being sold to the Kroegers chain that owns QFC. The only explanation I can give for this QFC is that was built in mind to accommodate the flood of Memorial Stadium fans when it lets out, as well as for the new tenants of the southeast side of Queen Anne hill as the latter is bulldozed away in the interests of developers like the ones who have built this QFC. Very difficult to find things here unless you go here all the time. The aisles go on forever. A few days ago, after having strode up and down an aisle longer than an Olympic-sized pool looking for something, I crossed over to the other side of the store to ask a store clerk about its whereabouts. He himself had to check an enormous "locator" sign hanging what seemed at least 10 feet above our heads. Then he led BACK to the same far aisle to again start searching one more time. Everything is dwarfed by the size of this store (granted I don't go to Costcos). When you finally get over to the check-out line, the cashiers seem to be more interested in caring on conversations between registers than to the customers. This adds to the impersonal, "anonymous" feel of this supermarket. The old QFC that was razed a year or two ago, on the other side of the Seattle Center, was a pleasure by comparison, though made obsolete by the new Safeway two blocks away. Poor selection of bread the last time I checked. The loaf I bought was beyond the expiration date, as well. read more

This QFC is a bit smaller than the others in the city but for me the location is extremely convenient. Shopping here is always an excellent experience. The store is stocked with a large selection of beers and wines, is always clean & not overly crowded and there is almost always someone there to bag your groceries. The prices are very reasonable with the customer rewards card (which is free and easy to sign up for)! There are some products that are overpriced but still significantly cheaper compared to Whole Foods. Also, the staff here is the friendliest I've ever encountered! Whenever I walk in, someone in the bakery department or another employee always greets me. Only thing I find a bit odd about the QFC is the location of some of the aisles. The location of some of the items in the store is not very intuitive and could be improved. read more

This is a fantastic grocery store. Spacious, clean - and never any children in it! No screaming kids asking mommy for cereal, a free cookie, soda pop, etc. No carts made to look like a race car. It's fabulous. Because for some reason....even the cutest kid seems to turn into Dr. Jekyll when they get enter a grocery store. Go with a list or you'll end up with way more than you need. It's such a comfortable store to shop in that you'll want to meander through the isles to see what's on the shelves.... read more
