Overall we preferred the Metropolitan Market down the way from this QFC, but this location was great for small things like hummus, soda, or rice. I always found the service friendly and helpful when I would interact with cashiers but most of the time I just used their self checkout and was in and out within a few minutes. They do have security and it seems like at one point the space was more open and had more entry points (Taylor), but now only has the corner entrance on Roy and 5th. All in all, our visits to this QFC were about convenience and ease and while it wasn't the most amazing grocery store, it got the job done. read more

I am staying at a hotel in Seattle with my family and we needed to go to a grocery store, so we went to QFC which was just like the Krogers back at home. We bought a rotisserie chicken there which was very good but a little dry. The store also has a Pokémon vending machine which is an easy place to find Pokémon cards. The store is very clean and even has fresh sushi! The place was also full of workers so a lot of the checkout lanes were open. Very convenient 10/10! :) read more

Do not shop here unless you want to be treated like a CRIMINAL. They have a camera on the front screen, a camera above you and a police officer required to review and sign your receipt even though they watched and filmed you get checked out. I got flagged for buying two sandwiches from the deli That I scanned and showed up on my total. An employee had to come by and re-watch the footage with me to prove I'm not a thief. And then had the audacity to still ask me if I actually scanned the two sandwiches I was filmed scanning. It was insane, the disrespect and mistreatment of customers is abhorrent. If you live in QA I highly recommend the local Safeway instead. This place is NOT worth it. read more

I discovered QFC when I was looking for a grocery store to pick up a few things to take back to the hotel room. I had never shopped at a QFC, and in fact, had never heard of them. This particular location is not very noticeable. Most grocery stores are standalone buildings, and it's quite obvious that they are grocery stores. This location is not well marked, and you need to park under the building in order to access the store. Like most grocery stores, they of course carry all the basics, but what impressed me, was the selection of cheeses that they had. At the time, I was looking for a specific cheese, and ironically, they happen to have it. It's locally made, and not found in many stores. Thankfully, it was actually also on sale because it's normally fairly pricey when ordered online. This location has a really nice deli selection, and I was able to grab a little bit of this, and a little bit of that, and it was enough to make a nice charcuterie board. I did find some locally grown/indigenous to the Seattle area fresh fruits, and that was a lovely surprise. I expected them to have the basics. The store is fairly clean, well stocked, and laid out in a way that it's easy to find things. I was able to get in and out of the grocery store in about 15 minutes. The checkout lines move fairly quickly, and the gentleman that checked me out was super friendly, not to mention super cute. I found the store to be reasonably priced, and my only complaint is that when I was there, it had been raining cats and dogs, and the foot entrance into the store was flooded, and they clearly were not prepared for the water removal. So I had to carefully walk around the pool of water to get into the store. I was glad that I wasn't shopping for a lot of things, because there would not of been any way around that pool with a shopping basket. read more

This store is depressing. It's difficult to get in or out of the garage, as the traffic off Mercer doesn't respect the stripes on the street. The elevator opens onto a desolate and dingy space, and the lighting on the way to the aisles is reminiscent of a store that's either closed or has dimmed the lights to get you to leave. On my last visit, I was informed that there wasn't a cashier on duty, so if I wanted to buy something, I'd have to check out myself. Many people see this as a convenience - I don't. I don't work there, and I probably won't shop there again. read more

This QFC location is pretty nice in general, but my sushi purchase was toxic! I've bought sushi at the Capitol Hill location, and the quality has always been good. But the sushi I bought at this location was completely rancid despite bringing to right home to the fridge. After blindly eating one rancid piece of a spicy tuna roll and then throwing the rest away... I was suffering from some bad food poisoning the next day. While the sushi chef was very nice, he definitely did not test the product he was selling. I suggest you go to the sushi restaurant upstairs for something edible. read more

Haut daam... (I know it's misspelled, and I'm okay with that.) That's because this QFC is the convenience and selection, all rolled into one, a great alternative to Whole Foods. There is a mix here, it's a smaller QFC than the many you find around, but it's packed tightly for the most part. Unlike some other locations that service basically all locals, this location also has the services of Seattle Center visitors for events. So what makes this a good spot for your groceries? Well, first of all, it's normal grocery store pricing. Yeah, okay, that shouldn't be a shock, but it's next to a major events hub, so you might expect so higher than normal prices, NOT here. They have some great features here, including a very nicely stocked fresh grocery section, a solid Deli, and of course a Murray cheese section. Yay for cheese, and good cheese, and people who know cheese, and for the customers who purchase cheese. I love cheese. Also, they have plenty of Organic and natural options, which for me is good, because I love to get NON-GMO/Gluten Free/Organic/Natural Popcorn; as well as all non-Natural sugar laden awesomeness which are Double Stuffed Oreos. So yes, the aisles are a light tighter, but it's well packed with great goodies. It might be the best option for mid-day shopping, since it isn't packed with hipsters or anyone who thinks they are hipsters. If you are in town, and need food, this is a perfectly great place to find your needs. read more

This is a fancy version of Fred Meyer owned store. It has pretty ok selection of organic things. But to my excitement I found the smoke cheese from Tillamook here. I really wish I could give this place a better review but it has been continuously going downhill since I began visiting this location about a year ago. Some of those areas desperately needing improvement are beyond the control of QFC I'm sure, like having lower inventory or too few employees checking out. Others are well within the scope of what QFC could do better now. The most maddening thing is that pretty much all the shopping carts have been lost. That means at any given point there are fewer than 5 full-sized carts in the store (I could only count 3 when I was last there) so, if you're someone like me who doesn't grocery shop often, you have to wait and literally follow someone with a cart to their car in order to actually be able to use one yourself. This caused a 18-minute wait for me my last visit and, because I usually buy two-weeks worth of groceries at a time, I didn't really have a choice but to wait. Prices are also all over the place. You literally never have any idea how much you're going to spend on any given visit because items fluctuate seemingly randomly between overpriced ticket cost and sales of 50%+ (which only bring them to a reasonable price). Rather than having random massive sales it would be nice to just reasonably price things at a consistent rate. After using this store since I moved to Seattle, I am probably going to go a bit further to CostCo as often as I can from now on. Honestly just giving it 3 stars over 2 since it has been better in the past. read more

It's a decent QFC. Going here during rush hour is a nightmare though. Avoid it all costs. The parking lot is free, but it's very dim. The ramp to exit/enter is also really tight/tiny. I LOVE the meat/seafood department employees here. They're so kind and sweet. I've never had an issue with anyone in that department. I used to love this QFC because it's so close to my apartment, and the employees never gave me any trouble. That was until a couple of weeks ago. I had just finished getting some tilapia fish, and I was walking towards the produce section. I was walking fast, because I wanted to get to Target before rush hour hits. I'm hauling ass to get some carrots, when I hear "UM EXCUSE ME MISS!" I had my AirPods on, but could clearly hear someone yelling. I turn around to see if the employee was talking to me. A security guard was chasing me down, and this is how the encounter goes down: Security: Excuse me miss! Did you pay for that?!? (He's literally yelling from the self checkout, to the end of the produce section. The whole store heard our encounter). Me: No? I'm going to go get carrots. Him: Oh, okay. -walks away- No apology or anything. I was extremely mortified and embarrassed. I wasn't dressed grungy, and I frequent at that QFC. I frequent there so much, that the gentleman working the poultry department remembers me whenever I come in. First of all, who's dumb enough to steal from a QFC that they frequent at. Second of all, I was nowhere close to the door. Third of all, if you're going to accuse someone of stealing, at least apologize when you're proven wrong. Needless to say, I don't frequent at this QFC as much anymore. I occasionally go here because they have a really nice selection, and it's close to home. Other than that, I mostly shop at Safeway down the block now. That was the first time in my life that I've ever been accused of stealing, and yeah. It doesn't feel great. Lol. I have no ill will towards the place, because I can see where they're coming from due to the homeless shoplifting situation in Seattle. The store is decent all things considered. I frequent this QFC (and many other stores due to my line of work) more than the average person. Often there are lengthy lines and limited cashiers (once again, this is the "norm" lately and I don't hold this against the store) My gripe here and the low rating comes due to the employees. I've shopped this location often and the cashiers are more often than not cold and disengaged. Today I was ready to check out and noticed only one cashier with their light on and a second cashier but his light was off and then a 3rd lane with the light on, no cashier and no line. The lane with the light on had a huge line and I took it upon myself to approach the cashier with his light off and simply asked if he was "closed" (because he didn't have a "lane closed" sign out,etc.) or if the lane with the light on but no cashier/line was opening? I didn't even get my entire question out before he interrupted me and said "you're going to have to wait for my help don't you see in with someone?!" Well excuse the piss outta me MATTHEW, I didn't know that by waiting and then politely asking a question beginning with "excuse me" whilst noticing that as you yes did have a customer that they were in the process of paying with their debit card and you were not doing anything except standing there. Not to mention the fact that being able to multitask and customer service should be your number one focus and priority (and I don't say this from a customers perspective I say this from the perspective of a former front end grocery store supervisor cashier clerk for many years) Once Matthews one and only customer had left his line he then took it upon himself to address me but if that point I was already two lanes over at the customer service desk. I quickly informed Matthew that I was not interested in his help. After all of this and then got in to line to check out which was the long line with the lane that had its light on. While standing in line observing everything I then watch Matthew decide it's time to turn his light on. You think as a cashier with a busy store and it's your job to take care of your customers and get them out the door as quickly as possible you would then be acknowledging customers in a humongous line and calling them over to your lane letting people know that you are open and available to help them you should just do that for your customers you should do that for your team members. Instead Matthew just stood there with his left arm held against his back behind him and he waited until somebody realized there was another open lane. On top of Matthews terrible customer service lack of professionalism obvious distain for his job his condescending rude and holier than thou demeanor obvious lack of capability for multitasking, working as part of a functional team or representing his employer with concern or care that as he acts not only while on the clock but as a Part of the Kroger family well he lives his every day life can we please address the fact that as he continued to check people out he did so one handedly as slowly as possible taking no care or concern for anything going on around him and the massive amount of people that were waiting patiently to get through the line. Now I can already hear it people saying "maybe he's disabled, maybe he was injured that's why he was only using one hand" And to that I must retort with "Nay-nay", this man was absolutely fine he was not physically disfigured he was not in a cast or a sling and as I watched he only chose to use his right hand while keeping his left hand crooked behind his back the entire time he worked but well interacting in or what would be considered "normal" fashion his left hand was moving about left right up-and-down. Maybe Matthew front and cashier at the QFC on Meridian in downtown Seattle isn't quite cut out for his job. Maybe he doesn't deserve his job I think that's obvious. I doubt even after me calling and complaining directly to whoever it was that answered the customer service line there anything aside from a "re-coaching" will take place because grocery stores are hurting desperately for all employees but especially front and cashiers. It's sad that because of the lack of candidates available to fulfill these positions that stores are becoming more and more desperate just to get bodies in to their location and they're willing to tolerate sub par performance and treatment of their patrons. Working in customer service and retail management for as long as I have it's rare that I actually do something like this and in fact this might be my very first complaint publicly via anything especially yelp --I don't feel bad about it either because it's ridiculous to ever have this sort of interaction toward a customer especially unprovoked. read more

It's a QFC! This is the closest actual grocery store to my place -- and while I prefer Whole Foods, I sometimes don't have the paycheck to shop there all the time and QFC does just fine as a replacement. Plenty of standard fresh produce in organic and non organic varieties. The cheese case is full of a variety of schmacy yumminess that makes me happy, and they have a fairly decent beer selection as well. Employees here are always very nice, and never complain when I get obnoxious and ask for change back in quarters for my laundry. I do have to say the layout of this place drives me nuts though. It's organized really strangely, and Im always going up and down the same damn aisles over and over again trying to find that thing or two I need. read more

Finally, a decent grocery store. I really missed Larry's. I was a big fan of that place and gave Metrosexual Market a few chances and they just don't impress me. And honestly, I thought QFC's were nothing but a glorified 7-11. This store proves me wrong. The main reason it's so great is its deli counter. Boar's Head everything with plenty of choices. Really impressive. And their baby aisle is the best in Seattle. Seriously, we went all over this city looking for decent diapers and formula and only this QFC makes the grade with us. This QFC has issues with cleanliness, organization and safety. I've been here a couple times, and the last time I came in was the last time. The elevator's metal doors were scraping against the elevator shaft - not safe and not pleasing to the ears. It was an extremely slow ride to go one floor. I went to use the restroom, and it was covered in graffiti - every wall, the floor, the sink, the toilet, the door - both sides - and the mirror. I really had to use the bathroom so I stood up - not the best experience. I used several towels to turn on the faucet and several towels to open the door. Good heavens. Besides this experience, the store is created and laid out in an anti-intuitive manner. It is difficult to find what you're looking for and there are few or no employees to be found. Also, prices are high for what is offered - this is a regular grocery store, not a health conscious one. Last, the parking garage is difficult to get in/out of but it is free. read more

Eh. Apart from its location and its free parking garage, my boyfriend and I do not really see good reasons to go to QFC. Everytime we come here, we leave less than satisfied. The produce section is OK although sometimes the produce looks a bit tired. I have come here in the summer when raspberries were $10/10 boxes. That was a good time. I also like their onion selection here. Their yellow onions usually look pretty good and they even have Walla Walla onions. Their meat section could use some help. We were looking for some fresh chicken breast meat. We found so many packages of meat sitting in its own juices. This is a clear sign that the meat has been sitting out for too long and needs to be replaced ASAP! Their self checkout machines are okay although now you need an attendant to scan any coupons you have first. Here's an idea of prices: a recent trip consisting of two chicken breasts, a bottle of tarragon, a bag of pita chips, hummus dip, a box of pasta, pasta sauce, and two cans of pumpkin came out to a whopping $38. read more

You have to get here before 7pm or good luck with finding any fresh meat left. All the workers are really nice but it's packed in the store and literally took us almost 10 minutes just to get out the garage tonight! Shop outside of the city if you can! read more
