I had the sig reuben w/ potato salad. There was a ton of tender corned beef, and the grilled rye was a nice touch. I could only eat half at one sitting. My rellie had the pastrami dip, and it too had a ton of tender, nicely seasoned meat. She couldn't finish half, even tho I took a bite of hers. Regarding the ambiance, its an old skool, lunch counter style place. You order on a sheet, and pay when you pick up. Eli and his female co-worker were super friendly and nice. Eli said he'd make us the best sandwich in town, and he was not kidding. I would go out of my way to hit MHM bc the sandwiches are delicious, they cover two meals, and the service is friendly & warm. Its no wonder they've been in biz so long.

This place is the best example of how you can overcharge when your service and product far exceed expectations. I can tell you that I couldn't tell you the difference between corned beef or pastrami and never really cared. I don't like corned beef and if you can believe it, I've never had pastrami before. I had a half of Pastrami Dip. It came with chips, potato salad, a pickle spear and hydrox cookie. The half of sandwich had twice the meat that you would get on a full-size Arby's dip. The potato salad was about 3 oz, which was plenty based on everything you got with the dip. At $20 it would be easy to call the meal a rip off, but the quality, portion and flavor made it well worth it. My only know what the bottle of Snapple at $4 Those bottles are $2.50 or 2/$4 at 7-11 and the 6 pack is often on sale for $5 at Safeway, so at 2x minimum, I thought it was too much, especially since the place didn't have water, your only beverage choice had a cost. The beef was super tender. The flavor wasn't life-changing, but it was clear, their roasting process infused flavor. The au jus was r ally good, could have used some salt to offset the lightly seasoned beef, but it still worked. The service was flawless and welcoming. It was clear they were concerned about eat diners experience. I would have rather had fries instead of potato salad and chips, but if I return, maybe I'll try one of the burgers since they come with fries. No rush to return, but that doesn't change that this is an under the radar spot that you should give a try.

You can see where we stood in the picture I posted of the shops' entrance. A group had been standing in the exact same spot just before us, so we didn't think we were in anyone's way. My boyfriend's little brother briefly leaned back against the meat shop's display case, and the owner immediately snapped: "Do me a favor and get your butt off my case." His brother got off the case right away, but the owner continued to mutter "fucking rude". He stared us down and started shooing us away with his hands, literally saying "Get." like we were animals. We stepped aside, but he kept staring us down. I asked him, "What are you looking at? What do you want us to do?" He escalated things further and said: "Do you want me to come find your house?" Absolutely inexcusable to say to anyone, let alone a young woman. When my boyfriend said, "You could have been nice about it." He said, "I don't have to." This wasn't just a reminder about his equipment, it was the tone, the hostility, and the lack of basic respect. No one came into the building after us, so we were not obstructing anyone from going to his business. We were simply waiting for our food and were met with aggression from this man. He does not deserve any business after such a lack of basic decency.

We recently started going to one of their locations outside of Seattle whenever we were in the area. The service remains flawless. It's one of the few butcher shops that consistently deserves a tip but they are always a bit extra! This week, we did a perfect surf & turf : wagyu steak and Chilean sea bass - complete with accompaniments. The fish was flaky and the steak was perfectly seasoned, seared and medium rare. As I was setting up drinks, I was the last one at the table. The steaks were sitting there and everyone had stopped eating. When I asked how it was, I was told "Try it, tell us what you think". I sliced into the steak. It looked amazing. I bit in. BUT afte a chew, I stopped eating it. The beef was definitely 'off' andd spoiled - which explained why no one was eating it. Fortunately, it was surf & turf night so we still had enough to eat. But after paying wagyu prices and lovingly cooking the steak, the disappointment was beyond words. Obviously I will call the store as I want to make sure they pull the remaining inventory from theirr display. At this point, my husband is worried as he had three bites as he presumed the aftertaste was from the truffle sauce I had drizzled. Now, he's worried that he will get sick. I guess time will tell. So FYI --- make sure you check the original dates of the meat before they cut/vaccum seal. Long story short - I hope they read this and review their QA processs to ensure all meats are dated/rotated/stored.

The interior is cozy and old world city vibes. Not a ton of seating and it can take a bit for getting your sandwich. It took 30-40 minutes to get our sandwiches at lunch time. After we already had waited in line. There was a line out the door when we got there. You order on a tablet and several people in front of us were quite slow ordering and it made the line take awhile. We waited at least 10-15 minutes in the line. They have an order ahead option I would utilize next time. The seasonal soup was kale and potato. It was very bland and watery. I wouldn't get it again. The bread was tough and chewy. You definitely get a jaw workout. Both of the warm sandwiches could have used a side of Au jus to soften the bread. The meat looks generous, but they do the sandwich trick. You fold the meat in the middle to make it look generous. But the ends are basically devoid of meat. Maybe a sliver. Flavors were really good. The mustard on the Cubano had a nice kick. Porchetta had a kick from the chimichurri and pickled peppers. Both were a little spicy and my son didn't love it so we ordered him a cold ham sandwich without the mustard. The cold meats are high quality as well, but definitely a little plain compared to the warm sandwiches. Overall 5/10 experience though. More evenly distributed meat and softer bread it would be A solid 10/10.

But we were both craving the brisket bowl, which serves the meat on top of their smoky jalapeño mac & cheese. It was very tasty! And actually very generous portions too. We were talking about it later and in future may just get one order and split it, because it was plenty for two. We had enough leftovers that we had a second dinner. We also tried their coleslaw, which was good, but nothing unique. The fellow who was doing all the work in the truck was named Brad, and he was very friendly and helpful. I had asked how spicy the mac & cheese was, and he kindly gave me a small taste of it to try. I'm a little bit wimpy when it comes to highly spiced food, but this was not overly spiced at all.
