My only two complaints about this store are the prices and the unreliable selection of foods in the fridge case. I try something, really like it, and then a week or two later, gone. Doesn't come back. The prices are a bit high and they don't offer much in the way of selection. Also, their cookies are very disappointing, at least the chocolate chip ones. The staff is always really nice, conversational and helpful. I work near by and am horrible at packing a lunch, so I'm a regular here. It's good enough that I keep coming back, so it's hard to be too critical! read more

Awesome shop located walking distance from the train station. Food was of the healthy snack persuasion. I ordered a vegan hot dog at 8 am and it was yummy. Employees were fun and super helpful. Thanks and keep up the great work read more

Absolutely ridiculous place, couldn't get a cider without ID!!! Average age of the four of us was 60+

Stopped for an afternoon refresher. Waited at the ice cream counter for a while never acknowledged by staff, finally a customer told us you have to go to the other counter to order. One scoop of sorbet for nearly 4 bucks was such a tiny scoop it provided barely three bites. Plus it wasn't fresh it had that kind of melted and refrozen toughness. My nephew got a rootbeer float for $6 that he couldn't drink. Said soda didn't taste good and the very small scoop of vanilla ice cream was grainy. It's gotta be pretty bad for a 14 year old not to like a rootbeer float! So, maybe other items are better but I can't recommend their ice cream counter. read more

Love both locations but particularly love the Pioneer Square shop for its delicious sandwiches and healthy fare you can grab before hopping on the train. Highly recommend the breakfast sandwich with tomato jam and bacon - it's the bomb. The Capitol Hill location has a great selection of wine and is attached to the fabulous cookie shop Hello Robin (please sell those cookies at the Pioneer Square location!) read more

Been here twice to get food, craft beer, snacks and chocolate to go within a short walk from King Street Station and the Amtrak train. Great vegetarian and vegan options- which is rare for pre-made sandwiches. 22 oz bombers of great local brews. Everything I need and no more expensive than on board the train! read more

It's a pretentious hipster grocery store that has good espresso drinks. It's kind of like a small, independent Whole Foods, with prices to match. read more

Tiny hipster grocery store right by the stadiums in Pioneer Square. It has character and fills the convenience store demand in the neighborhood, but is too expensive / premium for what I wish it was, which is a Bartell's or 7/11. I just need a place to get small medicinal items like contact solution or Tum's and not feel like I'm paying a ridiculous amount. There are enough coffee shops and bars around here already, and I just don't need organic chevre during the workday. read more

Obsessed. This is the most handy, convenient yet tasteful little market I've ever seen. So glad they came to PSQ. From snacks and beverages to hammers and nails they have got you covered. read more

I live next door but I make it appoint to go to Target instead due to the selection mostly and then the price. I understand this is a corner store so prices will be higher but I don't like the selection of items they have at all. read more

Good little shop, has a nice selection of.....everything. They are mostly over priced. I get that High 5 is a funding partner, but $25 for a pie is way too much! Many of the beverages are higher than everywhere, almost as much as ordering it at a restaurant. They have sandwiches and quick grab foods, which do seem expensive too. The bulk candy is fun, and not too bad priced. The store is aimed at being convenient, and that comes with a price! The service is usually good, most of the folks that work here are cool and will joke around, one or two are not as fun. If you must have it, stop in, if you can wait for your next grocery store visit, you will certainly save money! read more

Love this lil store! It's exactly what our neighborhood needed. Yes it's on the pricey side but they cary food stuff that is artisan and not your typical mini-mart fare. They have beer on tap too! You can pop down and fill a growler and take it back to your office for happy hour. It's perfection. read more

I love this general store! It has beer on tap (absolutely should be a staple in all general stores), has a great wine and cheese selection, and a frankly charming selection of random necessities. It's definitely a bit pricier than your average general store, and it's no bartells in terms of having everything you need, but the people there are really nice to talk to and helpful. It's also open late-ish which is a plus. read more

Wow really mixed views on this place. I had training in Seattle for the week and walked by this place multiple times. i finally walked in. It reminds me of a little corner mart or school store. I really liked the aesthetic and antique/hip feel of the store. The prices and variety both seemed cool. It seemed like they were going for a bit more of a healthier idea. They had some killer granola, great looking organic fruit, and a decent beer selection. I would love a market like this down the road from me. Its cool read more

Nice little place to come and get a cup of coffee or pastry. They offer a small B/L/D also. There's a few tables and bar top areas to hangout and chill. Little general store off of S King St in Seattle. Nice change from your typical SB's. read more

My sandwich never arrived, I asked and waited as other people's sandwiches appeared.. so I walked away with my money back.

This place is OK. It's fun to browse. My BLT was made with stale bread and very very little bacon.

Best thing about Cone and Steiner is the people. The people should get 5 stars but the produce section needs a LOT more attention - or just don't have produce. Another little issue is that they regularly run out of certain wines and are out for days. I like the fact that they carry Elleno's and good #bacon. read more

Great option for buying food for the train. Love that they will warm sandwiches for you and that they offer good quality convenience food items. Cute little seating area if you need a place to eat and they sell some fun gifts and supplies throughout the rest of the store. read more

This is the cutest store I've ever been in. And I live in Portland, so I'm used to whimsical little shops. Plenty of "this is really cute and all, but how do they pay the rent...?" stores around here. Not that Cone & Steiner has that problem; they seem to know exactly what they're doing. Anyway, I came in for a snack and spent like 40 minutes just looking at everything. In regards to food and condiment selection, this is probably the most carefully curated shop I've ever seen. Seriously, whoever makes purchasing decisions for this place is a genius. Or maybe they just happen to have the same tastes as me. Either way, I'm impressed. read more

Its like a corner pagoda in NY, but the hipster version. 5-stars because the pre made sandwich selection was 5 Star. So many vegan and veggie options on top of meat selections. Great snacks. Nice wines with good descriptions. Perfect stop before the train. read more

Great little market! If I lived in this neighborhood, I'd come here multiple times a week. Picked up a delicious Toasted BLT and a yummy can of white wine to go! So many tasty treats and convenience items. read more

I can't remember the last time I used the word "quaint", but that perfectly describes this place. The employees have always been great when I've come in. They have a unique selection of knick knacks and sundries, beer and wine. The real reason to visit, though, is if you need to grab a quick, pre-made sandwich or salad to go so you can get back to your office quickly. That is why you should stop in. You can even fill your growler bottle! (I don't own one, but if I did I'd fill it up here!) As some of my other reviews mentioned, walking into a Pioneer Square convenience store can be a sketchy experience. There is always the chance the person standing next to you with the unchecked mental illness, violent tendencies, and possible meth habit is going to freak out on you. (Harsh assessment, but you know I speak the truth!) Cone & Steiner is upscale and pricy, and as such, the clientele tends to be the neighborhood yuppie business person. (They might also have a mental illness, violent tendencies and a meth habit, but at least they are on the right meds to prevent a violent outburst.) I sound like a total snob, but sometimes it is worth paying extra to lessen that risk, thanks. That brings me to the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5; the price. Cone & Steiner, you are expensive. It doesn't matter how many Yelp responses the business posts saying they aren't more expensive...you are...and I'm used to shopping at Metropolitan Market, the king of all overpriced grocery stores! Those of us who shop here don't care, we just want our fancy little gourmet sandwich quickly so we can get back to work. And you do that very well...Thank you for being a great place for that! read more

This place is cool. A bit pricey, but they've got a great selection of food and alcohol to go. The coffee is really tasty--they use Fuel beans. Last week their card machine died and we didn't have cash, but since we work nearby they let us start a tab. Awesome customer service. read more

This place is a life saver! Where else can you get real food in Pioneer Square area? Before C & S moved in there was only convenience stores full of processed junk. This place has veggies, organic snacks, and fresh coffee. They also have a beer and wine bar if want to have a laid back drink after work. read more

This place had something special when it first opened but over the last several months it's gone way, way downhill. The employees seem about as apathetic and uncaring as any I've encountered in Seattle. If you want one of them to make you a sandwich, you'd better plan on them taking 20 minutes to do it. There is zero urgency on their part. The rest of the employees have a habit of standing around talking to each other about their weekends rather than helping customers. What happened to the original folks who were helpful and friendly? read more

I was excited when this store opened and saw the products they carried. While it is overpriced, when you consider the convenience and location -- you get it. The place gets one star for the products. The service is horrible. You have to OUTLOUD ask to be rung up when you are physically standing at the counter in front of the register with the products you are ready to buy and your card out. The staff will ignore you until you say you're ready. I stood at the counter waiting, ready to be rung up for about 5 minutes while the staff saw me and continued to fool around (the man wearing the beanie working there held to two chickens to his chest area and laughed with the other female staff while she made some joke). I work nearby and thought I would come here frequently. But am now deterred by their staff who don't really seem to work. I should narrow that statement and this whole review to "the man wearing the beanie". read more

Lovely ambiance and I enjoyed my hot chocolate, but don't order the hot dog. It was $7.66 (price is not visible anywhere) and, in my opinion, not worth it. Any $8 hot dog--without condiments or sides, mind you--better be a damn good one and this one was pretty average. The staff was super friendly though. read more

Fun selection of gifts and grocery items, but they seriously need to rethink their sandwich offerings. For $9, I expected a bit more than a sandwich I could recreate at home with my eyes closed and with mediocre ingredients. I was really rooting for these guys, but I felt so duped it was laughable! Not going back until they clean up their game. read more
