A friend of mine talked me into going with her to Purr-fecoto Cat Lounge. She loves cats and I love coffee. I was lured in by the coffee aspect of the visit because I am allergic to cats. I can go about a couple of hours before my throat closes in and my eyes turn bloodshot red from an allergic reaction. Please note that they have drip coffee only. Their mission.."Purrfecto partners with Texas rescues to give adoptable cats an opportunity to find new homes. Just like humans, all cats have different purrsonalities, but they all need love. We have created the perfect environment for them to relax and meow around while they wait to discover their perfect match. We are hoping to reduce euthanasia in animal shelters and increase adoptions. We want to provide homeless cats with 9 lives full of love." Cool concept...you pay $15 for 30 minutes or $30 for 70 minutes to play with a cat in the lounge to determine whether you want to adopt a cat. The space is bright, welcoming and open. It is like a group cat love fest. The lounge has been in business for about 4 years and have had about 1,900 adoptions. My friend did not adopt a cat but she will return. You must make an appointment to visit with the cats. read more

Coffee was great! But I wouldn't really call it a coffee shop. It's more of a cat shelter with the opportunity to order coffee. There's a lot of rules to follow with the cats but they seemed chill overall. Most of the cats were sleeping. They have mainly just kittens. I would say it was fun, but perhaps not for the price. $15 a person for 30 minutes was a bit expensive for this experience. read more

Keep this in mind while reading this review: I am allergic to cats. A few months ago my wife and I came here to spend some time with cats because we don't have one anymore and my wife loves them. Instantly from the start we knew this was a great idea because all of the cats present were adorable, cuddly, playful and very sleepy. There were a lot of other people in the area with us so it was good to see that all of the cats were able to get some time with all of us, and not just have some cats getting all the praise. The only slightly negative thing I can say is that the drink menu was just ok. It's not bad but I don't think I would get anything from it again only because I spent a lot of time looking after the cats rather than drink my coffee I bought. Over all I can confidently say that coming here was worth the sneezing and itchiness that followed. Then again you should just come here regardless of how your allergies affect you. read more

Such a great experience! The lounge was super clean, and all of the cats were so sweet and well-behaved. I had the chance to meet the owner, and she was incredibly kind and welcoming. They're also amazing with kids! My 4-year-old absolutely loved it and didn't want to leave! I really love what they're doing here. Purr-fecto cat lounge is adorable. It's a great place for a coffee or boba while getting to love on the cutest cats around! First off, they take the cats well being very seriously here. That is awesome! It's super clean and does not smell like it's housing lots of cats. They only allow in a small group at a time so it's not overwhelming to the animals, and gives everyone plenty of time to love on the babies. Eh, I love all animals and was excited to hear about a cat lounge! So during my day trip to Austin, my friends and I booked a 30 minute session. The cats were adorable, of course, I just didn't enjoy the vibe of the workers. Super strict about picking up the cats, and about your time. I still had time left and they kept walking around looking at the color of my sticker to make sure I'm not over on my time. We loved our visit! Seems like the kitties are very well cared for and they are adopted out quickly, helping to solve nearby shelter overflow. Our day was managed by a very caring and attentive vet tech. So great knowing the cats are technically being sheltered but having a loving and serene experience while they wait for their new families to find them. read more

My first time at a cat cafe. I guess you have to like cats more than normal. Staff seemed a little on edge but who can blame them, they have probably had to redirect humans and cats all day. The interior was nice. The large 3D printed cat head mounted on the wall was a nice touch and a possible photo op. An awesome thing they offer is adoption for some of the cats. read more

We are cat people and we absolutely loved our experience. We'd gone to kitten adoption Yoga Event through Austin Pets Alice and came home with our own Pete the Kitten. This was a similar experience. $15 for 30 minutes was fun. (People should get longer if you actually leave with a cat, imho.) I didn't try the food or drinks because we were too busy herding cats. My daughter and her friend loved it. It was great to learn more about cats from the knowledgeable and friendly staff. And I love all the cat toys and longer options. It's very clean and well organized. It was fun to see a variety of kittens and cats including a Siamese. I will say that we went at 2:20 pm on a Sunday and the cats were done. They were having a Nap Out and at least 8 of them were snoozing. This meant that there were not enough cats left. Nowhere near one per person, for instance. I mean, I can see the cats' perspective. If I were a Purr-fecto Cat I might start a union and demand nap breaks as well. Overall the cats seemed very happy, and I would love to go back. read more

I took my husband and mother-in-law here for a cat bonding experience. We paid $15 for a 30-minute period. They has coffee, tea, and soft drinks for order. We had so much fun. Each cat has a different personality. There were toys and cute Kitty furniture on the walls. The workers were nice and you get the opportunity to adopt cats. What do you do in Austin on a rainy dreary day? Go to the one and only cat cafe, Purr-fecto Cat Lounge. Warm up with a latte, and some cuddles. You can book your slot online, but I was running errands today and didn't know exactly when I was going to get there. So as a first time person, I walked in and asked if they had slots open for just 30 minutes. And they did. So I booked in person for 30 min, put in my drink order. I was given the run down on how not to pick up and walk with the cats, and not to play rough, and not to rub their bellies, even if they turn over and show their bellies, you must resist. You do need to use their hand sanitizer before going in as well. Cats are just totally chill sleeping. So of course you can't really disturb them. I really didn't interact with the cats, wasn't too many out to play with. So I just sipped my latte and took a few pictures. I mean it was a cool concept, and it was entertaining, but it wasn't like play time. Would I do it again? probably not. Cats were not active. $25.00 for 30 minutes. The cats are adoptable too. I wanted to make sure to mention that. I would imagine that's the soul purr-pose (see what I did there?) of this place. To give these little babies a forever home. read more

The place was clean, and they seemed to care for cats' well-being. I paid $16 for 30 minutes, but honestly, I could have stayed for the 70 minutes. Great place to hang out with sweet cats and watch them play! The staff is welcoming and takes the time to tell you the stories of the cats (who are all available for adoption). I went a few times as I was looking for a cat to rescue and each time was very pleasant. Cats and tea - my two favorite things! We were ecstatic to find a cat lounge here while visiting that we knew we needed to stop by! Opened in July this year, this open space had a lovely bunch of kitties. They were super friendly and we had many opportunities to interact with the cats there. Of course you need to follow the rules and respect the cats there. A lot of kittens who were playful and adult cats who were so chill. My experience at the Purr-fecto Cat Lounge was absolutely amazing! I'm a college student so as you could probably assume that final season was pretty rough. I was drained and mentally and physically exhausted after everything was done. I decided pretty spontaneously that I would go here as a relaxer. AND let me tell you it did NOT disappoint and it was probably better than i expected. I've always loved cats but because my brother and dad are allergic, I never really got the chance to pet them or even be near them. This lounge was my saving grace because I got to do both while having some delicious sips of matcha. I saw some negative reviews prior to my arrival but I didn't experience or see anything that those reviews had detailed. The service was amazing, all the workers were so nice and friendly. Not to mention the amazing vibe of the place. I loved every minute of it and I wished I purchased the 70 minute option because the 30 minute one seemed to go way too fast for how much I was enjoying it. In my opinion, if you're looking for a destresser, this is the best place to go! I will be coming back! read more

The only cat cafe in the Austin area currently. They have timed entry and write your entry time on a sticky label to wear so they know when your time is up. Time flies while you're oohing and aahing over the kitties. It is a cute little open space with plenty of cats, places to sit, and toys. They have a maximum of people allowed in the space at one time and when at capacity it felt a little crowded. I stumbled across this cute place one day and was pleasantly surprised. It's a place where you can pet and snuggle all the cats you want, order a coffee or whatever from the nearby coffee shop and hangout. A reservation is preferred for $15 for the hour. It's comfy and doesn't smell like a litter box or anything. They do a great job of keeping it clean. When you walk in there's a checkin and then a separate glass door to go in where the cats are. Extremely well cared for kitties and a very pleasant staff provided a great environment to get my 'cat fix' as multiple cats ranging from very small kittens to nice sized teens, crawled upon me for petting. I cannot have cats in my home so this was wonderful. I very much miss having a couple of feline freinds in my home and this did plug that need. Will do it again. We attended KPOP Night at Purr-fecto Cat Lounge. I will be upfront and honest that I am not a cat person and it felt awkward for me. It was as if I was cheating on my dog. This review is told from the perspective of my 11-year-old who I thought I was raising as a dog person. She enjoyed being able to pet the cats. She was able to pick up some and as well as play with them. She enjoyed watching the cats just roam and lay around. She enjoyed how the employees helped you if you were nervous about picking up the cats. She said overall she had a great time and would go again. Back to me. Since it was KPOP Night they were playing BTS and not going to lie we both enjoyed it. While we were there, we witnessed a pet adoption and watched as they took their first family photos together. The inside is also very instagramable and even though I don't care for cats it was very cute. They had cat loungers all over for the cats as well. I just love the friendly cats and the staff are friendly as well. It's best to make a reservation cause sometimes they fill up, but it's easy to see why! And adopting from them was super easy, the fee was even waived on my new baby Riley (though fees aren't always waived, I think it's because he's been there so long), and the staff were so excited with me when I was approved.
