I've owned dogs for years here in Austin and tried out almost all of the more centrally-located dog daycares. Work and Woof is so great that I drive from north Austin to take my dog to daycare there several times a month. Jill and her crew are fantastic with my energetic, large puppy Cooper. He has been attending daycare there for nearly 6 months. He has so much fun that he can't wait to enter in the morning and sometimes doesn't want to leave when I go pick him up. The staff is very attentive to the dogs, even calling me once to make sure I knew about what my vet ended up calling a very minor ankle sprain. They post frequent updates to Instagram so you can see how your dog is doing throughout the day and offer great add-ons to daycare such as baths, enrichment activities and treats. I do want to note, they are a kennel-free daycare and the dogs do spend the majority of the time outside. Those might be dealbreakers for some dogs, but if they're not, I highly recommend checking out Work and Woof. read more

I found Work & Woof through a Google search & asked about availability - luckily they had time & I was able to move my party indoors at the last minute. Jill was great, responsive & so accommodating. It's a large space, you have full use of the kitchenette & the the open layout lends itself to be as creative as possible with decorations. Overall, I love the concept and space. The staff is super friendly and will clean up after your pup. Cost is very fair; $8 per dog on the weekend for an entire day! They have a nice area for the humans to sit and chill (tv + lounge space + drinks). They have quite a few conference rooms but I haven't seen anyone use them. The indoor doggy space is awesome. They really seem to have a ton of fun. It's all concrete but clean. Love that the space doesn't really smell all that much. The outdoor doggy space is great too. They have two parks, one for smaller dogs and the other for larger. Nice seats and umbrellas for shade. Fair warning that there is a good bit of mosquitos out there though; esp during current weather. Feedback: Seems to be a lot of space for humans and maybe too much. If keeping that much space, maybe some more couches? I really really wish there was a connection from the inside to the outdoor space; if even just a doggy door/tunnel for the pups. Would be awesome. I popped over here a few weekends ago to take advantage of the play yard ($8) for a few hours on a nice weekend day. There were several dogs in daycare inside that were rotated outside while Em and I hung out. The outdoor area is large with picnic tables and grass. There were swimming pools for the pups, but put away for the time I was there. The dogs were mostly larger and Em was the odd man out but got some good socialization. The issue I have is even though I was there for the play yard - I observed the two handlers rotate the dogs outside and manage the dogs. Neither one was adept at handling the group of dogs on lead without pulling, yanking, and reinforcing bad leash behaviors. One of the girls smacked a dog on the butt when they didn't cooperate. She didn't realize I was outside and made a comment that I was hidden after she realized. During outdoor play dogs were mostly left to entertain themselves and some were targeted/yelled at constantly. Egregious? No, probably the norm actually. But there are better places to trust your pup with. Handling dogs is tough, especially when they are largely lacking training or basic obedience - especially with a stranger. But these handlers didn't seem trained or really interested in what they were doing. read more

Our little Story is a nine-month-old bundle of energy, which means that she often needs to be run ragged before she'll settle down for the evening. We had previously used another daycare place and decided to try Work and Woof for two different reasons: 1) It's a lot easier to get to as part of my morning commute; and, 2) It offers kennel-free daycare (unlike the other place we frequent). Needless to say, this has been a huge success. The first night we brought Story back from Work and Woof, she went to sleep and pretty much did not wake up until 7:00 AM the following morning - and this is for a puppy who gets her second wind like clockwork around 9:00 PM every evening! As nervous first-time dog parents, my wife and I were also a bit concerned about her playstyle with other dogs, but a few sessions at Work and Woof really brought her out of her shell. I've also been impressed by the staff, who collectively memorized Story's name after a single session and have always been friendly and open with us about her day. We've even taken advantage of the $8 open house options they offer on the weekend to get Story some exercise when the weather is bad (though you do have to remain onsite for that). If you want your dog to spend tons of time with other dogs and come home half-asleep, you owe it to yourself to check this place out. read more

Absolutely love taking my mini Aussie Remy to Work and Woof! I take him twice a week and Jill and her staff are so wonderful. He is always excited when I drop him off and I know he's in good hands when he's there for the day. There was a situation where Remy was having too much fun with one of the dogs and got scratched in the eye by the other dog( this could have happened anywhere not just here). The way Jill and her team responded to this situation was absolutely incredible and is why I give them 5 stars. The one thing I think differentiates them against other daycares in Austin is that the dogs are not constantly in a crate all day and in an open space and they actually are playing with their dog friends. I've tried a couple different daycares in Austin and Work and Woof trumps them all. Best daycare in Austin. 10/ 10 recommend!! read more

My 9 month old puppy, Pebbles, absolutely loves this place, and boy does my family love it too. Work and Woof allows Pebbles to burn off her terrier energy while we're at work, and allows us all to come home to a relaxing evening. It also is very important for me to socialize this little girl, as she is learning manners and confidence. The staff and their dogs are wonderful people, and take great care of their customers' fur babies. I can't wait to utilize this place to work offsite, or even watch a game! I highly recommend work and woof. We tried two other doggy daycares before finding it and work and woof is by far the best! Our dogs have a lot of energy and we noticed in the previous daycares they would come back still being full of energy. Not here! They aren't crated at all, so they get to run around the entire time and come back so much more relaxed. The owner, Jill, is so friendly and helpful. You can see that she is truly passionate about the dogs! There's so many different options available. Including a photo booth and self service bath with everything you need. The prices are great and we love that we can bring them in for half days. They are always quick to respond by call or text, and are happy to answer all of our questions. They have it all and we're so happy to have found our doggy daycare spot! read more

I scheduled an evaluation a week in advance, and even signed up online ahead of time. When I got there, I witnessed a large outdoor area with the employee just sitting at a bench, not interacting with the 20+ dogs outside. Once she noticed I was there, she started spraying the dogs with a water hose to get them to move so she could talk to me. She then had to drag a couple of the dogs by the collar to get them back in the main area, while I saw one little corgi stick half of it's neck under the fence. Beware of that corner area where I hope no dog gets out in the parking lot! Once I did get in, they mentioned they could not evaluate my dog because I wasn't there between 7am-9am to drop him off for a 5 hour stay. I clearly knew my dog needed to be evaluated, I didn't see a specific time noted on my email correspondence with my reservation, or on all of the legal jargon I needed to sign. Going back to the website now I see the timeframe mentioned in small print on the right side of the page. This was a bummer since I drove 45 minutes to try Work and Woof out! The manager said she guessed I could leave my dog today, but he would need to stay until 4pm. That wouldn't work for us because of our time schedule, but also based on what I watched outside, I would never leave my dog there. I definitely did not feel welcomed here at all. There website also claims to have a high staff to dog ratio -- I definitely didn't see that today. I saw someone who wasn't interacting with the dogs at all, and who treated the dogs like they were in the way. Also, a dog is going to run into the parking lot from the corner of that fence being loose! For as much as they need to evaluate YOUR dog, you should definitely evaluate them. read more

Work and Woof is AMAZING!!!! I found them when I moved to south Austin and was in search of a new doggie daycare. They were quite the departure from the tiny, no yard daycare my dog was at previously. They have a massive indoor area (and lots of toys) as well as a big outdoor yard! My German Shepherd went almost every weekday for almost a year and came home exhausted every evening, and was crying to get out of the car and bolt inside every morning. Jill & her crew are so great and will love your fur babies like your own! Bonus points for always posting on insta throughout the day so you can see what your dog is up to. There is nobody I feel more comfortable leaving my babies with!!! I'm pumped to have this place with plenty of indoor space in south Austin. Literally our only option to give our pugs playtime with other dogs in the summer months. Super clean and very attentive and friendly staff. The concept of a space for humans and dogs is very interesting - I have never seen a similar place. I'm so thankful for work and woof! I was really nervous leaving her on her evaluation day because Eevie is a nervous dog around strangers. During her evaluation I was able to text them and get an update on how she was doing. Luckily for me they said they would keep watching her they were very understanding of her being nervous and hopeful that she'll get better. Now a month or so later of going to daycare I think she's doing better around strangers and she loves to play with other dogs! We are so thankful that we moved into the neighborhood so Jill and her team could help us take care of our 3 year old corgi-mix, Monty. Everyone there is so nice, and they provide helpful (and cute) updates via Insta and email as needed. The facility is always very clean and they pay very close attention to any special requests you have for your pup. They also offer some grooming services and the like, which is really helpful when life gets a bit too much. They have a huge indoor and outdoor area, so no matter the weather, the pups can have a blast running around. It is also 100% kennel-free which I love. Our dog isn't always the most excited about going to new places, but he practically drags us to the door when we head to daycare.
