She assured me this would be fine, and assigned a dog sitter Scott who worked from home. 3 days into our trip, we got a text that our dog was injured (self-inflicted hotspots from anxiety). I immediately asked Scott how long he had left him, and he said just a few hours. This did not add up at all for us, so my husband checked the outdoor security cameras and Scott was gone eight full hours! He outright lied to us. Since our trust had been broken, I had a family member come pick our dog up and take him to the vet. The vet called and said the staff was literally crying - they said they had never seen wounds this bad from anxiety. He had licked himself raw in so many places, it was horrific. We had to come home immediately, and forfeit our entire vacation. We have gone on vacation many other times before with sitters who did what they said they would do, and he was absolutely fine. I took months to write this review because I was too upset to deal with it. Insurance did cover lost expenses after a lengthy process, but our dog is still healing months later. I hate writing bad reviews, but we would never use this company again or recommend them to anyone.

It is difficult to find a doggy boarding/day care that provides such well rounded, holistic approach to pet care. We have used Walk ATX for boarding, day camp with pick up and drop off included, and for in home check ins with walks. As well as their add-ons like baths and fun photoshoots. Mo is a party animal - we are constantly training, working with him and we fill all of his needs. Yet he is an energetic, happy 2.5yo rescue from Austin Pets Alive. He is a foster win actually. He's always soooo excited when he realizes he's about to get dropped off at Walk ATX and he's welcomed with big smiles and a huge "Hi Mo!!!!!" by the passionate and hard working staff. Walk ATX does pack walks, outdoor playtime in their yard with staff assigned to different groups of dogs. I love that there's constant supervision and a structured day. Including rest/down time, which is just as important as to not overstimulate the doggos. It seems as if Walk ATX has only gotten better over the years. They've incorporated training, special add-ons, and cool adventures. Last time Mo stayed with them while we were in Costa Rica, Britton and the team were super attentive (Mo was on limited activity for the first few days per our vet), and even called to give an update, in addition to their daily updates via email and on their app "Time to Pet". I know Mo is cared for and looked after by a group of caring animal lovers.

First impressions matter to me and as someone who is nervous I would have loved to see them greet my dog. Instead the woman at the front ( not sure her name - mullet - immediately went into a quick " take off the leash. What's his name? You'll get an update at 11" And then I watched her usher him straight to the backyard. No saying hi to the dog, no convo with me, no easing his nerves, no questions about him, no petting him, no introductions, nothing. I didn't love that, especially since it was our first time and it made me much more nervous to drop him off there. Around 11:00 I started to look for updates, none. Tried to call 3 times, no answer. Again this is his first day so not hearing anything on how he was doing and getting no photos - nerves then rose to an all time high. People are allowed to have bad days so will update this after a few more times. Just know the first day is not as informative or warm may not be as warm as you'd expect.

Starting out is simple, you fill out a form and schedule an initial visit. Allison showed up within her allotted time slot and met with Spring for the first time while we were home. She talked to us about her, how long have we had her, any issues we've had, and even went over the form we filled out to make sure all the information was correct. She was a dream to work with before we even purchased a service. Scheduling a walk or a visit or whatever you may need is quick and painless. You then get approved based on availability and you're all set. The first service requested was for them to take Spring on a couple of walks and feed her while we spent the evening out of town. They updated us on her mood, route they took, if she went to potty, and if she was able to eat, they provided pictures of my dog on their leash going about the area. All that alone? Excellent. BUT our dog was pretty new and was prone to dumping the trashcan when we left her alone too long. They provided a picture of the spilled trash, and cleaned up as best they could! I know I can count on this company for anything Spring may need. Phenomenal.

There were no problems, besides the key not working properly one time. Then, very recently, An absolute NIGHTMARE happened. They locked the keys inside the apartment, and they also left the balcony door open! The screen door was slightly open as well, and since i have a cat, they can get through easily. I live on the 5th floor, this is not a safe height to let a cat stay at, and possibly jump out. This mistake was over memorial weekend, where staff and maintenance as well as my girlfriend and I were out of town or busy. They texted me, and gave me a half hearted insincere apology. When I tried opening their pet sitting portal recently, trying to take up their offer of reimbursing the key lock out fee of $250 over a holiday weekend, they had ghosted me!! I was locked out of my account, and my number blocked. AVOID THIS COMPANY!! They make stupid mistakes and endanger pets -- the very last thing you want from a pet sitting company.

We were supposed to be out of town for a long weekend so we asked my in-laws to stop in and check on them and we'd be back home before the storm came... Our flight home was cancelled even before the storm arrived, our family couldn't get downtown, we didn't know if the electricity would stick around or when we'd be back. The cats had food and water, but they've never been alone that long and who knew when we'd get back and what they could get into. I panicked. PANICKED! I couldn't get in touch with anyone in our building, I didn't know any of the neighbors. Finally I found a post Jane had made in a local group and I sent her a desperate note. She called me back so fast and made it her personal mission to track down our building's maintenance guy and get a key to my apartment. From that first call it was apparent that she was as worried about my cats as I was. And as I've gotten to know Jane, it's so plain to see that she truly loves every animal in her care.
