Our new favorite coffee spot in the South Bay. They've got great service, a wonderful space and the drinks are unique. My wife loves their strawberry matcha with almond milk and I'm a fan of just about any espresso drink they make. read more

Decided to try out a new coffee place and I could not be more disappointed with customer service and quality of the drinks. Service was slow. The cafe wasn't even busy. No one was greeting or have a smile. I ordered a cappuccino and chai latte. The chai latte was watered down. Cappuccino was sour!! Probably the worst chai latte and cappuccino I've had. Sad to say this is the first and last time I'll be coming here. Although the positive is the cafe is nice, clean and spacious. read more

My daughter and I came here on a Friday afternoon. I ordered a vanilla latte and my daughter ordered a drink off of the holiday menu. The drinks were good, but the coffee was so strong that it overpowered the drink a little bit. read more

A nice coffee shop down in Manhattan Beach :) Looks like there's ample parking and also looks like a great study/work spot - a ton of people were hanging out with their laptops out. Enjoyed their latte and they seem like they have some other fun drinks here too! Had a huge order and the baristas were super nice and accommodating. Will definitely be coming back! read more

I got the lavender honey latte and strawberry oat scone the coffee was great but the scone not the best the lemon blueberry is my favorite so far I'll continue to try different things . Cute little spot I meet a friend here once a month. It was very busy for a Friday morning at 9 am. Hardly any room to find a seat luckily we did. Even saw Manhattan beach Pd there which was awesome ! You know it's safe when MBPD is enjoying some coffee and pastries. I wonder why when I was dining in I got the paper cup instead of a nice mug . Meh it's ok still delicious. read more

This is a relatively new coffee shop in the South Bay. I love going to coffee shops so I knew about this place earlier. The ambiance is nice and warm, with leather seats and stylish furniture. What I like most about this place is their signature coffee list. They make these incredible concoctions of coffee- based drinks but with interesting ingredients. The ingredients are all complementary to each other, so the drinks turn out good and not strange tasting. My favorite is the cardigan with pistachio milk. I tried cafe miel, which the baristas recommended. It has honey and cinnamon. While it was good but the flavors were not as bold as I expected. I haven't tried their pastries. The items on the menu, both coffee and food, are on the pricey side, but it you are looking for good coffee with a nice ambiance, this fits the bill! I go here a few times a month to try different drinks on their menu and to read or work on my laptop. It gets crowded from 1-4 pm, so finding a seat might be tricky. But it depends on the day, you might luck out and find a seat. Parking is easy. read more

Pure Bean - It's nice they put your order in a glass if you decide to stay to drink your coffee! - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Manhattan Beach, California

Stopped by this place to meet a friend and grab some coffee. I was delighted that my friend picked a place that was not Starbucks. This is a really cute place and looks like it is a fairly new place. Went there on a Friday morning and was very crowded. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, so easy to find some seating. The coffee is decent. But be prepared to wait if you are used to Starbucks efficiency. Not sure if they are still trying to get in the groove or if they were short staffed, but could not help notice how long I had to wait after ordering for coffee. I did not mind the wait as I had company and the staff was lovely! I love cute coffee places and therefore, this place is a win! read more

If you have driven by this place multiple times like I have, you should definitely make a stop for a delicious coffee! They have the most seating I have seen for a coffee shop in the area! Great for working or catching up with friends. I had a latte to-go and it was very smooth and not bitter at all. You can definitely taste the quality of the beans & appreciate the skill of the baristas - who are very friendly. I plan on trying one of the specialty lattes next time I'm in read more

This is a very cute coffee shop and I like that they ground the beans in a separate machine and pack it to pull the espresso shots for each drink. I ordered the peach Hepburn which is cold brew, peach bitters and heavy cream. It was pretty good with a hint of the peach flavor but I'd like to try something else next time. read more

This is by far the best coffee shop in the South Bay. I would say in all of LA. I have gone to Long Beach, Hollywood and so many other coffee shops and nothing compares to Pure Bean. i've been to pure bean twice & both have been great times! this location is in a small plaza so there is plenty of parking. i've been here in the afternoons and it can get a bit crowded. there's a few seats and tables outside. the inside is very spacious and welcoming. i decided to go in to try a new seasonal drink i saw online. i got there excited to try the blueberry matcha. unfortunately they didn't have the blueberry syrup but the cashier was so sweet and recommended me some other options. i just went with an iced vanilla matcha and i also bought a sticker as well. my total came out to $8. i found a seat while waiting less than 5 minutes for my drink. it was delicious. i recommend ordering that drink with oat milk. although i do love this coffee shop, the first time i came i wasn't too big of a fan of their chai, but maybe i'll give it another shot. i definitely am going to return to try the blueberry matcha. it's very roomy and not too loud in the shop. there's a few pastry options as well as a variety of coffee bean bags to buy. i'd give pure bean a 10/10 and think that everyone should try this place read more

Huge space which is great for working, very clean areas with lots of lighting. The food options are not many and also aren't very tasty, we ordered the breakfast sandwich. The customer service is great. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and the service was fast. The coffee also wasn't very good. I'm hoping it was only the coffee I choose as I do plan to visit once more to try something different. I recommend you stop in and decide for yourself. read more

Great vibes and super cozy. Great place to study or work! So many different kinds of drinks to try.

I gave this place a second chance and I just hate it. The first time we went we were turned off by the bad service and the bitter coffee. Today was pretty much the same for me. I paid $17 for a large coffee with oatmilk and a cup of chia seed pudding. That's ridiculous. I just did it and stayed for the workspace. The breakfast burrito was out of stock and I was having a nice chat with the cashier about things and the manager invited himself to the conversation. I could tell the cashier felt as awkward about it as I did. I felt like the manager was trying to make me buy some other food item to sub for the burrito when I had already expressed disinterest in getting something else. Pros: Good lighting, several spots to get some work done, WiFi, restrooms, I saw someone come in with their dog, better food options than when they first opened, lots of coffee choices besides regular lattes Cons: Service made me feel uncomfortable, coffee isn't great, expensive read more

I've only been here a couple of times so far, but I'll definitely be back! So far my favorite is the Cardigan (coffee with cardamom, a few other things and salt). I'm sure their coffee is probably better but their matcha was so grainy I didn't even drink it. So I would like to give this place a five star, but the service was more like "get out of my face" vibe. I get it you're busy but if you have 3-4 people working the back the person at the register shouldn't have to shoot in and out that many times. I had questions but they really brushed me off and I wasn't a fan of it. (It's not like I take long to order but visiting new cafes as I do often sometimes I like to try something new, but the barista was not about trying to answer any questions) The coffee was a quad so it's nice to keep that in mind, the sweetness wasn't balanced to strength of the coffee... read more

A quick visit resulted in a pleasant surprise. I have only visited once, but would come back after the customer service and the their guaranteed "re-make" policy. I have very mixed feelings about this place. I will start off by saying the place is nice, the drinks I've tried have been really good, and the employees have been very friendly! My concern is the man who I assume is the owner or manger who is constantly hovering over the employees with a harsh intensity. Maybe this sounds like an odd thing to complain about but one of things I love about coffee shops is the laid back and welcoming atmosphere. This is not the feeling you get when you walk in and see this man staring down the employees who are clearly doing their best and making very tasty drinks. I noticed this the first time I came in and thought maybe it was a fluke, but I've been in 4 times since and have observed this every time. Employees are you good? Am I being reading too much into this? Anyways, I hope the owner/manager turns things around so this coffee shop can reach its full potential! As a manager myself, I encourage you to empower and trust your employees. Watching them like a hawk is only creating a tense atmosphere that us costumers are picking up on. read more

I saw this place on my way to the airport and thought maybe this would be some new delicious coffee I need to start my day. Got there and noticed the place is very nice and esthetically appealing. When i got to the counter, I asked if they had something "like" a cold caramel macchiato. The barista/cashier responded saying something like "this is not McDonald's or Starbucks "are you looking for a cold brew and I could add some cream or whole milk? " I was puzzled wondering why he thought I was looking for McDonald's or Starbucks as I obviously came in to this place to try out their coffee. So I think he was trying to embarrass me and my wife for simple request. As he threw back his long hair and looked at the other customer for their reaction to his weird comment he seemed irritated that we were asking for a caramel iced macchiato. I don't know if he was having a bad day but definitely that was a bad first impression. I bought two coffees and a cinnamon muffin total was something like $22 as my wife decided to tip him. Hoping to make his day better. I specifically asked for no ice , she asked for light ice. I don't know if he was offended by the two dollar tip or this was his way of pushing us out. But Not only was our coffee filled to the top with ice, but they had to push it down with the lid. This place is called pure Bean. It was more like Pure Ice , Pure attitude,Pure lack of respect. I am coming back to see if the coffee will be made, the same and if the treatment will be the same. if it is Ill definitely will keep you posted. I do challenge you all to remove the ice after and take a picture of how much coffee you have without ice. read more

lol what an absolute a** at the cash register. Been here about five times and the drinks are fine but on my latest visit the dude with the LONG HAIR had a level of arrogance only befitting the second coming of Jesus himself. I asked for a pour over and didn't know which I wanted and he walked over slowly to the options and just put his hand up towards them with no words. Won't be coming back again. If u see him be prepared to be made to feel like a burden. Don't forget why you have a job here! The customers! Edit: I notice the business owner responds to most reviews so I'll address them directly. There are now MULTIPLE reviews complaining about the customer service of an employee with long hair. Please take care of it, I look forward to coming back and telling my family once it is. read more

PBMB is a safe haven for espresso lovers, remote workers, and socialites. The drinks are fantastic and made with precision and care. It doesn't matter which barista makes it, each of them really put their all into each drink they pour. And the aesthetic of this place is so warm, hip, and inviting. I like to sit at the bar for a couple of hours, get some work done, drink a whole French Press (made with their signature "Golden Bear" beans) and take in the sweet scent of fresh espresso and pour over coffee. The food here has improved steadily over the last couple months. They now offer breakfast burritos which are unusually gigantic for a coffee shop burrito. That's not a complaint btw, I'm still stuffed from the burrito I had there three hours ago. This place has the potential to franchise in the future, as long as they keep the same great drinks, aesthetic, food, and selection of employees. Speaking of employees: Daniel, Cassie, and Sophie are a good chat every time, and they really care about their work. They know everyone's names and are a big part of the reason why this place develops regulars so easily. Looking forward to next time guys! read more

Based on a Thursday 11am: Came here for a virtual work session with my laptop. Didn't need an outlet so I didn't look for those but the wifi connection is solid. SPACE - Chill, comfortable and clean. The aesthetic is nice and soothing - Seating varies from indoor window-facing stools to cushioned seats with tables and chairs, also an outdoor bench - Lunch hour (~12-1pm) presented more traffic but died down to a calm closer to 2pm - A nice place to do light or medium-focused work FOOD & DRINK - Coffees were pretty standard--I had a classic americano - Some specialty drinks offered - While nothing substantial in the food department if you're looking for a meal, there are pastries like croissants to tide you over MISC NOTES - Parking lot available shared with several other businesses in the strip; no issue here - Would return again for an occasional work-outside-of-home option read more
